I hadn’t booked anywhere and stopped in after 7.30pm which was no hassle. Checked in quickly and very affordable rate. First stay here and I’ll be back for a good night’s sleep.

Our room was booked in advance by our kids for our 30th Wedding Anniversary get away. We were greeted by the owner in a most welcoming way, and offered any service and advice we needed to make our stay more comfortable. We were directed to our room and on opening the door we were met with the sight a beautifully presented room clean and fresh, with towel swans on the bed, a flower arrangement (from our kids) and a personal letter from the owners. Our experience at Costa Rica Motel is one we will remember, and certainly recommend to others looking to stay in the South West Rocks area. Thank you, we will definitely be back again one day.

We pre-booked 3 nights accommodation over 4 weeks in advance. Sadly, the evening we were to drive up, my deeply loved dog fell quite ill. I rang the Hotel to say we couldn’t come, and to explain why. We had a booking that was non-refundable and I knew this. I just wanted them to know we couldn’t commit to the booking and I expected nothing more. They were so sympathetic to my obvious stress and were not only genuinely concerned for my dog but then assured me I would not be charged for the booking. It is heartwarming to know that there are businesses out there that put people before monetary game. I cannot thank them enough for the kindness they showed. Sadly, I had to have my poor faithful furry companion put to sleep. One day we will eventually stay at Costa Rica and I look forward to thanking these caring people in person. From the bottom of my broken heart, I sincerely thank you Costa Rica, Meegan.

We were very happy with our room. We did a spur of the moment decision to check out South West Rocks and needed somewhere to stay one night. The room was very clean and well equipped with tea/coffee, fridge, Microwave, TV Wi-Fi etc. Nice and quiet room plus very close to everything. Great Price. Friendly staff. Thank you, we will stay there again.

What an amazing week. Only planned to stay 3 nights and ended up staying a week travelling to Coffs Harbour and back for a couple of days. The owners have recently purchased and what a great job they are doing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchenette has a freezer as well which we thought was good. The clean daily if requested. You are 5 minutes from Coles and 10 minutes from the Goal and lighthouse. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and making it feel like home. Beautiful fresh clean rooms that cater for singles, couples and families. The managers are keen to please and lovely people to deal with.

Under new management so they are improving things daily very lovely people that work here definitely recommend staying for how ever you have, pool is devine even for this time of year.

Great hotel stayed here to dive at fish rock dive center was great and made it easy access to do scuba as well as being a nice room with space, tennis court and pool.

This place is rotting. It has a small pool so kids won't have fun. Tennis court with not tennis balls or rackets. Room have horrible service please supply tennis rackets. And maybe in the future upgrade the pool. But for now a 1…

We went for 2 days. THe place itself is mind blowing. THe beaches are clean and nice. The small town area is good to have a walk with your family. You will see friendly people everywhere. Plenty of places to visit and all the places are so close from Motel Costa Rica. Costa Rica is the place to spend your night with your friends, family and relatives. They have good rooms and is very close to all the attractions. Highly Recommended…

Best place to stay! All staff were very friendly and helpful.

We have returned to our motel after approx 15 years {4 months ago} and are currently renovating and upgrading our facilities. Our restaurant is operating, we have a lovely BBQ and Pool area and are currently tidying our gardens and grounds. Our guests have been very understanding and have complimented us on the improvements to the property and to date we have had no negatives from anyone. As for Taylor Vlogs our data base does not recognize the name and as such we dont believe she {if she exists} has ever stayed at our property. This review was previously posted as SANDRA CROWE and now the exact review has popped up again as TAYLOR VLOGS our solicitor is currently investigating. But we do acknowledge that disgruntled ex-employees can have their fun. We look forward to continuing to improve our property and the enjoyment we get when our guests enjoy their stay with us. Quiet and enjoyable. Pool out back and kids playing area with bbq and table and chairs. Spacious rooms. Looks really nice all round. Service was wonderful!

We stayed at the Costa Rica motel as part of a dive package with Fish Rock Dive Centre. Booking was done through the folks at the dive centre, they were very relaxed and accommodating, even arranging for a late check in. The motel and room is dated but well maintained and comfortable. The amenities and comforts provided are pretty standard and more than sufficient. If you are coming diving in the area, this establishment is highly recommend. The dive shop is located on the same property as is quite convenient.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK************ **********STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE****************** **********YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ************** Stayed here for a few days NOT IMPRESSED with how much money I coughed up to what I got (a old bed and a broken toilet leaking taps old carpet no screen on the windows and a stinking old sofa lounge that's about 20 years out of date and these lamps from the 80s oh and the chipboard bedside cabinets) cleaning staff where lovely with beds made everyday and tea and coffee replaced but bit discussed in how the boss man treat the employees, one young lady getting abused in front of customers and walking out in tears and distressed hope the cleaners are ready for a bumpy ride cause I think the bosses will taunt the cleaners till one stands up for themselves and they will be the first one fired… there going in to quiet session now ladies and he needs to need to thin the books THESE NEW OWNERS DONT DESERVE A CENT.

I have stayed here twice before but more than 10 yrs ago. My experience back then was very positive. Lovely facilities all in working order! Now there is no restaurant no spa no tennis courts and the community kitchen was absolutely appalling I would not cook or eat anything there! This stay has ruined all my great memories from before. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone!

A simple, basic motel that provided a soft bed and a large room when we needed it. A few flaws but fine for the price.

Don't waste your money — these people are just after money! Run down and over priced! They look for loop holes to charge you more — we were over charged and when questioned staff owner less than civil — would never stay here again — location not great — much better to stay in town centre —

My husband and I stayed in the Costa Rica for 4 days, we found the room very clean and comfortable. Easy access to the car and pool with a sliding door at the rear of the room. Staff were very friendly and provided us with a clean room each day. With a small kitchenette, fridge and microwave enabled us to have any meals we wanted in the room. Thank you Costa Rica, South West Rocks… keep up the good work.

Well, where to start — DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY is all we can say! This place leaves a lot to desire. There is a reason when you book that they recommend you upgrade your room. They are very basic. We purchased the 3 night mid week "special package" then upgraded which equaled $79/night. Not that cheep for the middle of winter mid week. Although we had extreme weather the room leaked, the bathroom shower leaked and actually flooded the bathroom. Surely they knew this and didn't fix it. There was no internet which we had pre-arranged as I had work to do and even though we upgraded to get some kitchen facilities there was no utensils or plates etc. Only 2 glasses and two cups, a microwave and a kettle. There was tea coffee etc and a small milk. But once used your had to buy your own replacements. No clean towels at all only 2 small bath, 1 matt and 1 hand towel, and don't think there is any room service. We got told on arrival that none was available. This was not such an issue but clean towels would have been expected each day only because there were so old and worn that they didn't cope. The room was clean and tidy if anything but musty. The old style blue pattern sheets were disgusting. They should have been binned about 20 years ago. We did wonder how they would comply with current cleaning standards. My husband wanted to leave the first morning but not wanting to make a fuss I talked him into staying and we had already paid in full.

The room was small even though it was a 'luxury self contained unit', the beds squeaked and were uncomfortable and the ones in the bedroom moved. When we realized how bad the room was after the first night they wouldn't refund for the second night. When we left early in the morning (without checking out) to watch the sunrise they opened our room and started cleaning it at 8:30! Not impressed. There are plenty of nicer places to stay, don't waste your money on this.

I would not recommend to anyone to stay at this motel. Despite agreeing not to charge me due to the floods and storms that hit the Northern NSW and QLD coastline in early 2012, the owners charged me regardless. I would not trust the owners/operators of Cost Rica Motel. There are plenty of all accommodation options in and around South West Rocks. Stay somewhere else.
