Great location. Walk to beach and yummy restaurants. Front desk staff very helpful.

Room was amazing. Great view. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Food in bistro was amazing. Would stay here again anytime.

Novotel had amazing food at great prices. Very accommodating menu: vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian and gluten free. Service was prompt and courtious. I highly recommend Novotel! Did I mention we were in Australia on a holiday? Novotel was one of the only restaraunts open on Easter Monday, a holiday we don't have in the US.

Nice clean rooms with a modern decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A stone throws from the beach and they supplied proper beach towels which was nice as I had limited suitcase space and couldn't bring niceties such as this. The restaurant is good but there are many and varied options nearby.

Rooms were clean and spacious. While not having a view the outlook of the courtyars qas pleasant. Staff are great and welcoming.

Friendly as usual. My parents always stay here for their visits. Don't let the small restaurant fool you, there food is divine. Ive been known to come just for dinner. They can easily amend dishes to gluten free as required.

Great location and we'll appointed rooms. They are one star short of five due to not allowing guest to plug their own devices into their tv. If they could modify their entertainment system to support this then they would get a five star. I do really like the fact they have a water filter in the reception area to fill water bottles.

We enjoyed every minute of service from staff and the rooms were delightful would definitely stay next time were up that way. The restaurant from foyer definitely needs some upgrading. But all in all close to main city night life.

Good location. Fairly spartan lobby and dining area which tends to lack character late in the evening. Rooms are spacious however recurring maintenance issues arise frequently. So called "Harbour View" would be a tad challenging if you couldn't find your glasses!

Modern new building. Service was good the room was nice and big enough. Very close to the beach! So convenient!

I have been traveling with a group of overseas visitors. Most of them are visiting Australia for the first time. Even its the first foreign trip for few of them. Considering this, receptionists were very patient to understand queries made by the visitors and were very helpful to assist them. All the hotel staff were very kind to accommodate their needs. I highly appreciate the supports made by the hotel management. Thank you!

I visited the Novotel Newcastle Beach for lunch with my girlfriend and parents on the weekend. My parents ordered the steak sandwich and a pizza, along with a bowl of chips to share. The pizza was the size of a large dinner plate and went unfinished, with us taking the remainder away in a container. It was delicious and very filling, as was the steak sandwich. My girlfriend and mother both enjoyed the taste of the steak sandwich with onion relish on Turkish bread. The only (slight) inconvenience was that we had to take the elevator to the second floor to use the bathroom, but otherwise it was a great meal for a reasonable price. Our sever was also extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed in harbour view room on level 4 with no balcony. Staff were very helpful when showerhead broke and assigned us to another room, however it was smaller unfortunately. Buffet breakfast was standard. Beach towels were supplied by hotel which was very convenient. A few minutes walk to a patrolled beach. Cafes, restaurants and scenic lookouts were within 10-15 minutes walking distance. Overall, would recommend staying here but could do with minor maintenance.

We went to a wedding reception here, and it was made even better by the staff, and all the facilities (overhead projector, dance floor, bar etc). No hesitation to recommend this venue for this type of event, and their accommodation.

Novotel Newcastle beach is a very nice hotel. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The service was very good. It is located right in front of the beach. I would recommend this hotel.

The service is underwhelming. Menus are plonked at the end of the table. No distributing around guests, no offer to take drink orders or offer starters. Had to hunt down waiter for drinks, beers arrived then glasses 10 minutes later.

Went for a high-tea. Nice decor, though positioned next to the hotel reception took away from the atmosphere. Food was very pleasant, coffee was fine but nothing special. Suits a casual quick bite or lunch.

New hotel in a great location close to city attractions. Rooms are well equipped. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice. A great place to stay in Newcastle.

Good but when I ask for some slippers as non was found in the room I was told there are non. Later that night I ask for some pillows but once again there are non to be found. But at least they gave us something else. Steam room was not working.

This venue provided lovely clean rooms, late check in, buffet breakfast and room service and other amenities. I found issue with the guaranteed parking, only getting a park due to another guest going out as we arrived in the car park. We selected this hotel due to its offering of overnight room service, but when calling to order something off the 5 option menu, only one item was actually available and there were no vegetarian meal options at all (excluding garlic bread and a cheese platter).

Novotel is a relatively new hotel, and overall has a fresh, modern feel. I've stayed here a few times, and have always found the staff to be very good — not just friendly and helpful, but very professional as well. While I haven't eaten at the restaurant, I have ordered their "Grab n Go" breakfast (essentially a bacon and egg wrap and a coffee) which are good, and good value, and a great option if you're in a hurry. Again, the restaurant staff are always efficient, friendly and professional. The rooms themselves are quite spacious, with all the amenities you'd expect. Again, new, modern and fresh. The shower was very good in terms of temperature and pressure. The big letdown here is the beds. My bed was possibly the hardest and least comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. Also, while they're advertised as king size, they appear to be king singles bolted together — meaning there is a discernible join down the middle of the bed. Unfortunately although I love this place overall, I won't stay here again for this reason alone. It's a great hotel, but if you can't get a decent night's sleep, what's the point? I suspect they may have replaced the beds at some point recently, as I didn't have this issue on previous stays.

Great location, easy walking distance to several nice restaurants and the beach. Great rooms but we did get some street noise at night. Buffet breakfast is decent, recommend getting an omelette from the kitchen. Very good service and attitude in general, from all the staff we dealt with.

I thought that the hotel amenities were so-so for the cost. We paid more than $500 for two nights, but we had a view only of a building opposite (which let in light around the curtains) and our room didn't come with a table (only a small desk) and only a single chair, making it less appealing to stay in our room. The safe didn't work. Bar and restaurant were very small, and when we tried to order room service we got no response at all. We opted for this hotel for its closeness to the beach, but I think we'll opt for somewhere more central next time.

Still has a new feeling to it. Great location only 100m from the beach. Rooms are of a decent size and well appointed. Breakfast is your stock buffett and helps fill the void.

Knowing that Newcastle does offer great beaches but a lack of good hotels, we do come back since 5 years as of the good location. That’s how far the good rating goes and 4 stars is at least one too many for this hotel. Dark and basic and smelly bathrooms (there seems to be a sewage problem) and very poor room cleaning service. This time we left the “Please clean my room” sign out for 5 hours in the morning and came back for a nap when the room was not made. Instead the cleaning lady knocked on the door at 2pm, demanding that she could only clean the room “now or not at all” and would not even allow us 5 minutes to get ready… — absolutely rude and a unique experience in about 40 years of traveling private and on business. Next day was no water in the room and then no towels… normally not a big deal but you would expect more for a 4* rating.

I rarely give accommodation a 5 star rating but I could not fault this place. Great location and staff, comfortable room and reasonable rate. Breakfast and parking included in our deal and everything thing you could need (shops, beach, etc) within easy walking distance.
