Close to hogs breath cafe, very noisy with the construction an very small bed.

Paid top dollar to stay at Chifley Apartments. Good location but terrible staff and motel.
No communication what so ever. Tv and speakers didn’t work. A staff member came up to try and fix it but just couldn’t be bothered, seemed like such a hassle for her. The sofa bed sheets were dirty and stained and looked like they hadn’t been changed prior to our stay. We had purchased frozen and cold products to find out the next day the fridge/freezer didn’t work and all our stuff had defrosted. We also stayed at the motel to access the use of the gym only to find out that there actually wasn’t a gym but not one staff member had let us know and there were still signs up saying it was available. Then to top it off when we checked out a new staff member was on the desk and tried to charge us AGAIN for our stay. Because there had been no notes saying we paid on arrival. Never again!

Rooms were clean and spacious. Would recommend.

If you like staying in a place where you find used underpants left by the previous occupants, or you like a bed like a marshmallow or you like staying in a place where you can hear other visitors thumping around till four in the morning… Then this is the place for you!

Only ever saw one staff member at a time. Had to wait to get into the building from the carpark as nobody around to answer buzzer. Breakfast value for money. Quality of Gym a little sad. Only lightly clean your room every 4 days.

Got locked out of the room, and it took almost 4h to get my stuff out. Staff was friendly, offered a new room and tried the best to get the door open, but 4h was too long.

We stayed here for one night, so can't comment on anything too much other than the room. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with balcony. Staff were generally friendly and helpful during check in. The room was clean, and well appointed, however the balcony clearly had not been hosed or mopped since a previous guest had spilled drinks out there. Bed's were a little too soft, but were otherwise comfortable. The room is hardly homely though; dark cupboard doors, tiled floors, stone benchtops, stone topped dining table, stone topped bathroom cabinet, 4 foot tall stone cladding adorning ALL walls throughout the apartment. I'm usually a fan of a clean modern look — this was too much even for me.

Good hotel, sadly no longer doing a full breakfast service and are only doing a grab-and-go breakfast now, nice rooms.

Location is amazing. Right opposite the water. Rooms are a good size. Shower is huge. My kids favourite part would be the pool. Have stayed twice now & will again.

Great location, only a short walk to the water and heaps of choices for restaurants. Rooms have everything you need and are tidy. Staff member on check-in was great but was disappointed with service when checking out.

Great location. Reasonable good size rooms. Balcony glass, sliding door and windows needed a clean, also the room needed a vacuum. Cobwebs all over fence glass on the balcony. Vacuum the hall ways too not only guest rooms. Stain cover sheets needs to be binned, not in the cardboard to use as spares. Friendly staff and good kitchen.

Modern serviced apartment building with great size room. Outdoor pool located adjacent to the gym. My only gripe was that for a five night stay there was no proactive service of my room. I had to ask for a top up of toilet paper and soap. If the hotel policy is to not service the rooms during a stay, then rooms should be furnished with adequate supplies at the beginning. You really shouldn't have to ask for more toilet paper!

Great rooms that close to everything at a fair price. Secure parking that cost $25 for 24 hours. With all the works going on, cheap. There are a variety of quality restraurants literally across the road that charge back.

Conference rooms were modern and well lit with big windows and up to date technology. The light catering provided for our meeting was very nice.

More importantly, the air con worked well as the outside temp was 45c Location fantastic in walking distance of all the good restaurants along the water front However, it's the beautiful girls on reception that made our trip memorable. It is very good. The rooms are cleaned once a week. Not many views but that didn't really bother me. So close to the wharf and boardwalk. The museum is like right there behind it. It is located in a very good position. There is one big problem for tho THERE IS NO WI FI! Its a great place to stay with the kids!

The staff were friendly, however the room was dirty and the furniture was old and broken. The room needed a completed refurbishment. The balcony was dirty and unpleasant to be on. The blinds did not block out the light and the a/c was very noisy. The cost for 2 nights including parking was expensive at $400+.

Great serviced apartments with ideal central location to Newcastle. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Highly recommend.

Chifley Apartment Newcastle has spacious and modern accommodation with full cooking and cleaning facilities including a washing machine and dryer. The hotel itself is in a convenient location, close to the Honeysuckle restaurant precinct with plenty of options if you don't feel like cooking. I would recommend Chifley to other people wanting to stay in this area or looking for a serviced residence whilst in Newcastle.

Booked in for wedding weekend in Oct last year. The apartment was beautiful, plenty of room for all of us. We where surprised on our honeymoon night, opened the door to find rose petals from doorway to bedroom, they had made a heart shape out of them on our bed. Rooms where excellent and the staff could not do enough for us all. Would definitely come back again.

Loved it. Had all the facilities I needed, service was nice the bed was easily the best thing I've ever slept on. Room was clean and well presented. Would definitely stay again in the near future.

I originally booked an apartment for my Fiances birthday as a surprise at Jesmond Executive Apartments, on the way to Newcastle we recieved a phone call to offer us a free upgrade to Chifley Apartments. Obviously we jamp at the opportunity! We found the room to be very modern, chic, and clean. There was a vacant block next door that our balcony overlooked, but we also had views of the harbour which was amazing. Overall the saty was amazing, close to restaurants and bars. But. I took my Fiance away on a budget, with not alot of money to spend, so when I noticed that $100 was missing from my account I called the bank and was notified that the Chifley had put $100 on hold! I spoke to Reception who advsied me that there is a $50 holding bond per night. This was the first I had heard about it and needless to say was NOT HAPPY! I was advsied that the $100 would be rel;eased once we checked out on the Sunday. 4 days later an I am still waiting! BEYOND A JOKE! As a place to stay I thought it was amazing but I think they need to be a lot more clear on the hidden charges! PATHETIC.

Disappointed! This hotel doesn't deserve it's rating, although it looks nice on the surface you are quickly disappointed. I found it to be very unclean from the bathroom to the bedroom. On arriving back late after a nice night out, pulled back the bedding to find filthy sheets. I rang down for clean linen to be greeted with "housekeeping has gone home". After going downstairs to explain that I wasn't happy to sleep in dirty sheets, I went back upstairs to await the clean linen and on its arrival spent the next 15-20mins stripping and remaking my 'paid for' bed for the night! So much for hospitality) — : Stay again or recommend NO WAY clean sheets are a basic MUST.

Service was good and apartment was well appointed in a very good location. We payed a lot less than we were quoted at the Crowne Plaza just around the corner for a much better room. Pool and Gym were also very good. Would stay again for sure.

Nothing worked, our actual room was nice but looked out onto a vacant block, that looked like and undeveloped car park, nothing like the promised pool or harbour views described. The area was dull, right on the train line. Nothing worked, the internet usage had a tonne of hidden charges that they didn't bother to tell us about, just waited until we made phone calls, went down to the reception to get the cord and then when we finally plugged it in, it announces the costs. Parking is also insanely over priced. The pay-per-view movies dont work. We don't have a lot of money and don't get away much. We had only recently reconciled our marriage after a 3 month split and were hoping for a nice quiet night away from kids. It as a disaster, except that we spent the whole night laughing it off as we tried to salvage what we could of our night off. I strongly urge anyone who is considering staying here to look elsewhere.
