The rooms are close to the most spacious of any I've stayed in over the last 30 years here or overseas. Everything is clean and the fitout was standard or better for Australian motels. The restaurant is punching well above its weight with one of the best icecreams I've had in Oz, Europe or America.

Good location, close to pub and club. Nice room which is quite modern. Restaurant on site.

Staff were excellent and friendly, pet friendly was not a problem and very very comfortable after staying in a camper trailer for 8 days lol. 5✨.

Big rooms, good shower, good parking.

Honest country motel. Rooms are big, good split system for heating/air con. Short walk to a range of pubs. Check-in was quick and easy. When I found an error with my bill a week later the staff were very apologetic, responsive and the issue was corrected quickly.

It was nice, but the reason we got the room was for the spa. Everything else was sufficient but I thought it would be a little more efficient.

Not a good place to stay if you want to sleep in. The cleaners started cleaning at 7am banging and bashing their trolleys and talking loudly outside our room then started sweeping the path and banging on our bedroom door around 7.30 then at 7.45 knocked on our door to see if we were still in the room. I think a bit of courtesy to people that are travelling and may be tired should be considered. Otherwise the staff in reception and the kitchen were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was good.

Did not get the room we ordered even though it was simply and clearly laid out on my confirmation email. They gave us a 2 bed single room for a 5 person family, when spoken to about the issue the arrogant old man did not care he said the lady who booked us in had been fired. The room was not clean, old half eaten biscuits under curtains, hair in the bathroom and only half the lights worked. Tv remote was broken. Air con stunk of old dust musky smell. To top it off the cleaning lady opened our room door to clean it at 9am whilst we were still in our beds when check out was clearly stated to be 10am. Other people staying at the same time said they had similar issues as us, one got abused for asking the staff about there room booking then their power went out at 2pm. I would DEFINITELY never stay here again under any circumstances! Respond what ever lies you want, your service and establishment is a joke!

This motel was very clean and comfortable especially the bed, we slept well, had a nice meal over the road at Bowling Club and good breakfast at motel. Can recommend!

I strongly advise you to never stay at the Mackellar Hotel.
The first time I stayed with dogs I had no issues at all.
I recently stayed again over the weekend and was very mindful how I left the room. However after checking out I received an email saying the room smelt of urine, had excessive hair everywhere and all linen and bedding had to be replaced and fumigated. They also charged further money to my card to cover this which they were not authorised to do. I guarantee the room was tidy and no urine smell or stains.
After consulting my lawyer I sent the motel an email asking for answers and photographic evidence.
They have failed to reply and are ignoring me.
I will never stay here again and have posted this on every dog show site to deter anyone else. Shame on you Johanna.

Absolutely appalling management. I was accused of leaving the room smelling of urine and excessive hair everywhere from my pet. Then they illegally charge my credit card for further money, they did not have authority to do this. Management is now ignoring my emails asking for answers and photographic evidence. You will be shamed all over the dog show world for your theivery and disgusting treatment of guests.

We had the pleasure of holding a special surprise Bridal Shower in the function room and the staff could not have been more wonderfully helpful and accommodating! Nothing was too much hassle, they were friendly, professional and helpful, Went along with our little story to get the bride there and made the day a complete success! This amazing team provided us with fantastic catering and allowed us to let our creativity flow in the room arrangement. We will definitely be holding more functions here again And will be talking about this day for a long time! 10 stars if possible. Thankyou team for making it such a fantastic day for all who attended! Xx.

The staff were lovely, this was our second visit there. Was a little bummed we didn't get the big shower like last time but we had a warm room and a warm bed so couldn't really complain.

The location of the Motel was close to the Bowling Club (which is where we had dinner) and only a short walk from other services. Our room was fantastic, the only downside being that the air conditioning unit was either too small for the size of the room or was not placed in the most optimal position to cool the room. The service was perfectly fine, with the only hiccup being that the cards we got for our room didn't work, although that was quickly fixed.

We were very satisfied with the room which was very clean and had a huge bathroom. Restaurant wasn't working on a Thursday night so we had dolmino pizzas which was right next door and they were fabulous. Only one complaint aircon should have been put on as it was a stinking hot day otherwise well done.

Lovely spot, great amenities, friendly staff.

A great find. This place sets the benchmark for rural motels. It has generously sized and appointed standard rooms while the beds and furnishings are fresh and pleasing on the eye. The staff had country hospitality with a smile and I had perfectly cooked eggs for breakfast. I love a road trip but have stayed in many a dive over time. If only all hotels were this standard, I'd never have a problem.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, well appointed rooms. Easy access to town centre. After the other motels/hotels we stayed on on the way back these guys were by far the best and cheapest that we stayed in. Looking forward to visiting again down the track.
