My husband and I have just (finally) been able to check in after having to go to reception three different times because our room wasn't ready. I even called on the way to see what time we could check in as we have had zero communication since making the booking. Had to leave a message and was told someone would call back — never happened. To say we are disappointed with our room would be a massive understatement. It is old, tired and dirty. I don't know how they can justify charging $410 a night for this room. This is meant to be our honeymoon (having had to postpone it for a second time because of Covid) and we are just shattered to have wasted our money. Do not stay hereit is truly awful. Would give zero stars if I could. Cant wait to leave.

Lovely spot, clean room and nice food.

Good location. Next to hunter valley garden, winery is close by, you can walk if you want. Of course, we like the swimming pool & suana bath. Staff are acommodating.

There was a mix up with our room caused by our travel agent. The hotel staff went out of their way to fix the issue. The grounds are beautiful staff are friendly and welcoming and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast this morning was delicious.

Awesome place. Staff were lovely, food amazing. Only thing I could suggest is cold water in the bar fridge. Other than that will definitely go back.

Could do with a good clean would of been nice to have breakfast outside but tables were too dirty and the staff had no interest to clean them they rather stay behind the counter chatting this only highlighted the grotty walkways and dusty bed head and walls once I started to look.

We made use of the conference room and private dining area for work and was very happy with the service and overall result of the 2 days at Mercure.

Beautiful location and excellent, attentive staff. The ‘Recovery Station’ at breakfast is pure genius for a wine region, with the inclusion of Bloody Marys and Berocca! The room was a heritage style, and it was very clean. Our dinner in the restaurant was making, could not fault it for experience and food quality. The hotel is walking distance to multiple vineyards and a cute little shopping village, this resort is a must for your time in The Hunter Valley.

All I can say is I love this place! Excellent service from every angle. Excellent food I could not recommend them more and that's why I'm getting married there in September!

Nice complex, very quiet and relaxing… Good facilities including restaurant, bar swimming pool etc. Really everything you could expect from a hotel. Conveniently located close to gardens and other local attractions. Private balcony to enjoy, comfortable bed and good shower.

One of the best locations, great staff. Very clean I highly recommend it :) I organised a birthday surprise for my partner. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Very overpriced for the quality and service. The rooms are very basic, small & outdated for the price. The restaurant food is mostly really nice, quite pricey & the waitresses & waiters don’t fill your water or wine up or check back on you to ask how the meal is going. We would have bought another bottle of wine, but the staff didn’t even bother looking over the table to see if we had finished our bottle. We couldn’t bother as the service was not up to scratch. The waiter who served us was a manager, he was friendly but didn’t bother to check on us much at all. The restaurant was only half full and they had plenty off staff on, so they could have asked how we were going, filled our water & wine glasses up. Some or (most of) the desserts are not made in house & the cheesecake I had was the most bland, hard cheesecake I have eaten. My mum’s brûlée was bland & it was supposed to be Baileys flavoured, but we couldn’t taste any baileys. I had a scallop tart & it was really delicious & well presented. My dad said the pie he had was really good and a very generous size. We were impressed with the entrees and mains. It was very small, but I expect that in a fancy restaurant. From what I can remember, there are hardly any vegetarian options & no vegan options. The wine list is quite small.

Third time visiting Mercure Resort and I never stop loving my stay, the customer service, food and general services are phenomenal! Thanks heaps guys keep up the good work!

Nice rooms, convenient for lots of winery's. Book restaurant early for busy times but it's good.

Loved this place. The staff were very welcoming, informative and happy to help with whatever you need. The pool was beautiful and the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious with a great selection. I can’t get over how fresh and fluffy the bread was! Turn down service was great they even refreshed the shampoo/body wash bottles and towels even if they’re hung up. We got the welcome picnic pack which was delicious except they had run out of macaroons. Would stay here again.

Convenient to so many things at the vineyards… walking or driving. Loys of eating and drinking venues nearby. And facilities for a short stay … good.

Very overpriced, poorly maintained, the staff are very nice and helpful. They call this place a resort! Most resorts I have been to have a few or large swimming pools to choose from. This place has one, and I have seen larger pools in backyards than this place has. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the staff were very good.

Do not book here. Disgraceful. Room wasn't what we'd booked — they claimed to "upgrade" us but actually just shoved two of us in a king room. The bonus was a bath! I supposed it was big enough to sleep in — and I may have done had their not been an awful smell coming from it. They've refused to refund us — presumably having already made their money out of us they just don't care anymore. If your choice is to stay here or miss out — miss out!

We had a buffet breakfast there. Great variety of food at a reasonable price.

Poor service. Reception clearly didn't give a damn. My wife had a headache and wanted one Panadol. Their reply was you have to buy the whole pack for $5. Whatever happened to being accommodating to guests?

Excellent food and service. A bit pricey however. We went because there were no other restaurants open within the area at the time.

Wifi a rip-off at $25 extra a day, completely ridiculous in an establishment such as this, charging at the price point they are. Rooms are decent, the beds and pillows are good, bathroom is decent (small but neat). Food is good value but only average. Breakfast really good, but surprisingly has no cheese selection even with the full breakfast option, again, really unacceptable for a venue of this price point.

Very disappointing. Was given two double beds instead of queen. Bed had bend in mattress and was extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom was clean but shower leaked throughout. Checked out a day early due to same and no apologies or refund from management. Would not recommend considering the cost and expectation for location.

Beautiful resort with the most friendly staff, food is excellent at good price, right in the center of the Hunter valley wine region, one of the best hotel in the region.

Went here for our wedding. The service is great, the gardens next door are amazing and the rooms are, big and clean. The staff were very helpful in setting up our wedding and suggesting services in the area. Be aware, the only car wash nearby is at Cessnock.

Night two of the Very friendly, beautiful food, gorgeous location.

Great place to relax Great to have wine tasting literally in your back yard. Steakhouse was a bit over rated steak came out cold took 35 too be served. And seemed like most staff were in some type of trance attention to guest was minimal at best.

Went out there with family played Pitt Pitt golf and had a great time looking at all the little shops and gardens.
