We stayed overnight and they didn’t lock the door to the adjoining room. As a result another guest came in at midnight and was scoping out our stuff. Thankfully we woke up and they left before we were either robbed or possibly attacked. Who knows? Unfortunately Jesmond refused us a refund. We were moved to another room but it was deeply unsettling and we were very lucky to have woken. We barely slept the rest of the night. Very poor attention to detail to allow a security breach like this. And very poor customer care to not offer a refund. Other than that the rooms were both smelly, sticky floors and one kitchen had a whole cabinet panel missing.

Wish I’d read the reviews before I booked. The room wasn’t ready when we were supposed to check in and we were asked to come back in 30 mins. It made no difference. Room was disgusting. Floor not cleaned (vac or mopped) bathroom filthy, toilet seat dirty, dog hairs everywhere (in clumps), sticky stuff on couch, fridge and crockery not clean. I think they only changed the sheets. Parking not allocated. Down stairs room asked for and given an upstairs (after confirmation by phone). Nothing good to say. Not 4 stars don’t stay here.

I had a last minute booking for my daughter to have a procedure at John hunter hospital which was cancelled I called instantly and advised I needed to cancel and was advised that I can get my refund and was told they would keep it on the account I called today to get a refund as ive been advised the procedure is no longer required and will not be rescheduled. I have no need or interest to travel at the moment and after being transferred to the owner and manager who answered didn’t even acknowledge me at the beginning of the call until I said hello, his response was hello, I have never spoken to a manager so unprofessional such terrible customer service, now seeing further review I am relieved we did not stay here, I would rather sleep in my car then fund such a disgusting business who treats customers like that. Do not recommend!
Can clearly see why your rated so low if you treat all your customers like you treated me. Wow.

Smelly, dirty, ramshackle, unsavoury is how I would describe it. No executive in their right mind would want to stay here.

The beds are so comfy, rooms was good with the spa in it the outside spa amd pool was nice till u put your foot in it (it’s freezing) would definitely stay there again.

For the amount we paid (two bedroom unit) it was alright, however disappointed. We did not get the style of room/unit we asked for (we had the option when we booked months earlier for a room with veranda or balcony, we requested balcony) we got neither, just a ground floor flat up in the back corner. Parking design out side our room was poorly thought-out when they made it, you can not safely park the amount of cars side by side in the designated parking bays without blocking someone in or risk your car been damaged by someone leaving! Not to mention money was removed from my selected account days before it was supposed to be paid via direct debit. Would not recommend.

I booked a room at the Williams apartments, it was absolutely filthy. Hairs in the bed, rubbish on the floor, used soap in the shower, no surfaces had been wiped down etc. Spoke to somebody on the phone and they moved us to a different room, it was even worse. Cockroaches everywhere, dirty linen, faeces in the toilet, the oven and fridge was DISGUSTING. Sat on the lounge to call management back and had baby cockroaches crawl over me. I called back a third time and they moved us to a different room, only it was a different location so we had to pack up and drive there. On our way back out we ran into the cleaner who said she was there to change the bed, but not to clean. Would not give us a refund so we had to move locations. I took photos of the rooms just in case we didn’t get our “bond” back, but the staff didn’t want to see them. We stayed at the Executive Apartments in Jesmond and they were better but still not great. I will never stay here again and will make sure none of my family and friends do. The worst place I have ever stayed and I have never seen anything like this. Big thank you to Harry who works there, was so understanding and lovely. Thumbs down to Tony that works there, he was so rude and unprofessional. Wouldn’t even give this place one star out of a hundred.

My first stay here, I was impressed. My second stay I was absolutely disgusted with the condition of the cleaning & how unappealing the room was for the price I was paying. The next room they provided wasn’t even cleaned when I went to the room. They moved me again to another & the furnishings were out dated & the bed was rock hard. I would never recommend these premises.

We booked months in advance for a 3 bedroom apartment to which we didn’t get anything close to that! Rooms are DISGUSTING and so is the service. Do not recommend staying here unless you want to waste money!

This place when I arrived was hard to find, my towels, bath mat and pillow case stained, broken blind, filthy dirty chairs.
Called and complained and asked for clean towels etc have not had a reply from management. I’m in apartment 183g, it’s a recycled shipping container.
There was rubbish, cigarette butts, empty bottles, junk along the walk way, tidied after complaint but not removed. Air conditioned but no instructions on how to use.
Very dirty, I would never recommend for the price I paid $168 it’s a rip off.

Filthy filthy rooms and you don't even get the room you booked. They dont do refunds either so avoid at all. Cost. Worst place ive ever stayed.

The place is definitely not as advertised. It's tiny and definitely not a luxury villa. Also, the cleanliness of the place is a bit dubious (the floor and the beds are all sandy, there was a dirty pair of socks behind one dresser & paper behind another dresser and an open packed of complimentary sugar).

We have now stayed twice at the William Apartments first time the room smelt like cigarette smoke and had tobacco all on the lounge and floor.
The second stay was very poor room not ready after checkin time, cleaner was still there I had a procedure at John Hunter to come back to a unavailable room well after check in time.
Cleaning was not up to scratch with dirty plates, cups and knifes and forks.
The tea towel stunk.
Greasy finger marks all on glass table and dirty stove
Lounge had all crumbs over it
Not good at all
Then had people pushing in our bathroom screen and door knocking and pranking us I guess
We had to leave that night at 8pm and drive two hours home
We will never stay there again.

Absolutely disgusted I called yesterday to ask in regards to policy with cancellation regarding accommodation I had paid outright for for July 2020, I was told if I cancelled 3 days prior to check in I would receive a full refund.
I spoke with the manager Tony tonight he was so rude whilst I can understand the stress he would be under he bluntly told me no money will be returned, he cancelled our villas and hung up on me after swearing and abusing me for expecting money back.

Nice, clean, comfy Studio apartment. Little kitchen with essentials. Close to shops.

Rooms were absolutely disgusting in terms of cleanliness, ironing board had graffiti over the board it self, bathroom was a health hazard of heavy black mould, also was meant to be self contained for 3 people and didn't have any suitable amounts of cultury or equipment, the bbqs didnt work at all and at 10 dollars a day seems a bit unbelievable, after the mention they did upgrade us to a brand new villa which was great, but kindly made a mistake and 're drawed another 2 weeks worth of our accomodation and simply told me it's only 5 days I won't have the money for and it's kindly out of there control. Apparently every one has 3000 dollars spare for moments like these particularly when we have to stay for our child's surgery we have travelled for. I strongly recommend no-one stays here and will strongly be a advocate for it.

Room was filthy I wiped spilt cordial off the kitchen floor and cupboard. Took photos of bottle caps and ring pulls in the spa/ bath/ shower. Couldn’t have a spa because there was no plug. Dirt and rubbish behind the door in bathroom and scum in the spa. Very disappointing. They really need to get onto the cleaning staff ‍♀️

Dec 2019 — Our villa was filthy and smelly. Even had dirty bath towels and cigarette butts left from previous people on verandah. Location was very noisy aswell. I never write negative reviews but I wouldn’t take my family here again. Pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else. Was not pleasant at all and we were so disappointed.

Absolutely disgusting state of the room that I had the misfortune to visit. Staff did not care.
Furry mound on windows that is hidden from view by the shutters. Months worth of dust on appliances that were below eye level.
No way that this filthy establishment is worthy of a 4 Star review. Have photos & video that I would love to share. The management of this facility gave no ethics. Spread the word, don’t stay at this Cesspool.

Not actually pet friendly. Not too interested in providing customer service, they would rather text and circle maps than verbally communicate with guests. Very limited car parking.

Absolute appalling service. My friend and I stayed there as she had day surgery at John hunter. The two ladies who we spoke with at reception were rude and seemed to think we were putting them out when we needed help. They weren't friendly and seemed full of themselves. Didn't even ask us the next morning how we were or how the stay was when I approached them as I accidentally left my keys on the bench after checking out. The rooms weren't up to scratch with cleaning. They were spacious though but If you won't to feel welcome and see friendly staff this is not the place to go. Very rude and obnoxious!.

Close the small studio apartments. They are disgraceful.

The staff working here are the most aggressive, disrespectful, and rude staff that I’ve ever encountered. The worst customer experience of my life, I left in tears because of the way I was consistently spoken to and treated. If you are LGBT I’d never recommend any of these places, purely because of the staff. It’s 2019 but clearly ignorance is still out there, and it’s disappointing to be reminded of that when you’re on holiday.

I would suggest they leave air conditioning on prior to guest arriving because the appartment wasn't pleasant to walk into.

Stayed 2 nights in two bedroom apartment Was great only issue took awhile to get hot water.

The location was great for us as we were going to Hunter Stadium to watch the footy. The staff were very friendly and they had updated their room entry and check out system since last time I was there which was great because last time my door key kept playing up which was frustrating. The rooms could do with some renovations as there was bits of the roof which looked mouldy and falling down in places which really need to be fixed but it is good for what I need when I come from Sydney to support my footy team.

Very good value for money. Easy and efficient late checkin check out. Great for business stays. Very clean as you would expect for 4 stars accommodation. I would give 5 stars if in winter it had electric blankets and my room was pre heated before arrival on a cold day and there was reserved car parking numbers per room.

The room was small but adequate. Walking space only around bed. No seating area or balcony, but, this was the budget studio option. Nice modern fittings, clean, well equipped mini kitchen. Microwave Good sized en-suite shower and toilet room.

Located right at the southern end of the city bypass, Jesmond is located in a prime position for easy access to the western suburbs of Newcastle. Access is via a pin-pad instead of a key, which is a novelty, and there are outdoor cameras everywhere. The apartments are somewhat sterile in appearance, and the TV in the lounge room was mounted ridiculously high, so much so that you can't watch TV without getting a sore neck or standing. Cables were very untidy as well, which surprised me a little. In the master bedroom, there was less than half a metre clearance around the bed, so don't even think about trying to put luggage in there. There was also extremely limited space in the bathroom due to the tiny vanity sink. Also no towel rails to speak of, just a couple of robe hooks next to the toilet. Parking was tight, but if you have a smaller vehicle it should be no problem. Even though there are garages, there is no access to them so parking is solely in the outdoor spaces in the complex and adjacent carpark. All in all I'd have no problems staying here again, but there were lots of minor things stopping me from awarding 5 stars.

Nice place to stay. Pretty clean rooms. Ours had a kitchenette. Stayed in a two bedroom appartment. Nice for a little break away.

We stayed in a one bedroom spa apartment, and were provided two side by side single beds made up as a king. Housekeeping had used a single bed sheet lengthwise as a top sheet, which was not long enough for the bed. Bed didn't feel clean, and had "grit" in it. Bedsheets and towels all had minor staining, including a rather suspect brown stain on the fitted sheet (they told us this was a rust stain). Handles were missing from kitchen cupboards, kitchen sink tap was very loose in its sink mount. Paint around the apartment was damaged in various places and peeling from the roof in the bathroom from moisture damage. I can't comment on shared facilities (pool etc) as we didn't stay long enough to use them. Parking provided free of charge, and some are under cover however none of the parking spaces are secure. Parking is tightly packed, and seemingly barely enough to cover all rooms. While Jesmond Executive Villas is budgeted at the lower end of the market, much can be done to improve the value of their accommodation.

I'm a frequent stayer in a studio apartment. Clean & comfy. Excellent value for money.

As a single mum to 3 young kids, 2 with special needs, I was in dire need of some luxury. I absolutely loved the 2 bedroom apartment and I could’ve slept in the spa all night. Perfect place to stay, and I will be back again.
Omg I did not want to get out of bed and come home. Thank you so much.

A clean, modern and simple place to stay on the arterial roads through Newcastle — but you get what you pay for — the studio we had around the back was clearly an optional add-on flat for the larger room next door, and the door between them was uninsulated and paper thin, meaning we heard every word from the loud family behind us. Probably won't be back personally — but if you're looking for a modern place to crash on a budget, it could be for you.

Only just got here and not happy. Room not cleaned properly. Floors were filthy, put the mat down and it was black, and cupboard doors were all dirty. Cars park directly behind your room and the walls shake and mirror nearly falls off the wall when they open and shut their doors. Supposed to be a compendium in room but no where to be seen. Very noisy. For the price you pay and calling themselves executive is a joke. And it's the only place I have ever stayed that charges you extra for Wi-Fi. Will not be staying here again. Feeling very ripped off.

Accommodation was awesome. Bed was comfy and room was air conditioned. Only problem we had was with parking not being allocated.

By far the worst experience, our rooms were not ready in time, staff were rude when asked to at least put our luggage in the rooms, we also advised the staff that my grandma was in the heat waiting the receptionist replied "I dont care". The cleaning lady was frustrated before we had even arrived was even rude enough to scream at us. Not good service. Definitely false advertising. The pool small and looks nothing like the picture also filled with bugs. Has not been cleaned. Will not be staying here again.

Nice hotel needs a little bit of cleaning up in the bbq areas and found the pool wasn't all that inviting but the rooms are great. Nice friendly stuff. Would definitely stay again.

A frequent visitor, this was our first time staying in a large studio. Check in was quick & polite as per usual. But finding our accommodation was challenging as the signal was not clear. Parking was also not clearly marked, encouraging other guests to park in a way that prevented others from doing so. The room was a converted shipping container & was well done. However we shared the room with a couple of large cockaroaches throughout the night! The floor was not very hygienic, having hair from the previous guests clearly visible. The door to the bathroom was also opaque which offered little privacy. Will probably stay again because the location is convenient & the prices reasonable but wont stay in those particular rooms again.

Beautifully presented room, looked to have been recently done up. Text message detailing room details/door code/Wi-Fi login in was great, and the assistance of the after hours staff was fantastic. Only complaint was the hardness of the bed — would have been a five star rating if the mattress was more to my liking.

I wanted to say a big thankyou to Sylvia for your understanding and assistance you gave me with my recent stay. I had accidentally booked a room that was too small for me and my sister who was planning on staying 3 of my 7 nights booked. I was upgraded to a large suite from a suite for an additional cost of $50 only. How delighted was I to be booked into luxurious apartment style accomodation for the last 5 days of my stay. Loved it and will continue to return every year when I visit my family as I am from WA. The only difficulties can be finding a suitable parking spot when others park incorrectly blocking access to others. Well done.

This place what an absolute joke! I'll be telling everyone I know not to bother booking here. So I booked a weekend away for my husband and I to celebrate our first year of marriage together. To be heading to our destination to find out that we have been moved to Cardiff executive villas instead as there was a "power" problem so they had to "shutdown " the place for the weekend. So last night we went for a drive to discover you didn't have a power problem your problem seemed that you were over booked. So now we are in an apartment with a tiny ass "spa" which is a bath with jets. So we can't get in it together to enjoy ourselves. There is no pool here either and the "free Wi-Fi" we were given a password for doesn't even work. Not to mention the furniture. There are huge pieces of fabric missing from the lounges there are dirty marks all over the wall. This is a joke. Thank you very much Jesmond executive villas for ruining our child free anniversary weekend. I expect to be getting a complete refund as this Cardiff executive villa is nothing for what I have paid for. Otherwise I'll be taking this matter further as this is absolutely disgraceful!

Fantastic suites, well equipped, great layout and convenient location, couldn't recommend it more. Just wish there was a bit more parking!

Firstly the good things:… Clean-ish with a semi comfortable bed. The after hours check in and out is hassle free Now, the bad… It has to be the noisiest place I've been to. The noise from the road and drive way was terrible, as the door and walls seem like they have been made from cardboard with zero noise insulation. We asked for a 3 person bedroom as we travelled with a child. It had no where to move as the room was tiny and they converted a sofa bed to the second bed, but had to move the coffee table right to the walkway. There was a kitchenette but no where to eat in the rooms! What's the point of that! They supplied 1x small bottles of shampoo and conditioner for 3 people for 3 days.

Staff are fabulous! Theyre were extremely accommodating and friendly. Kids were free using existing bedding which was a huge bonus. Pool is nice, and bbq area. Shops across the street so you can cook yourself. Cant recommend them highly enough. This will be our place when in newcastle. Thanks again jesmond villas! ☺☺☺

Was put in the smallest room in the whole hotel and was staying for a fair few nights luckliy got upgraded to a much decent room to move around in. Isn't very much what it says on the page. Wifi you get 1GB to share with whoever is staying with you so only lasted like 10-20 mins other wise you have to pay. Towels were stained. Rooms shown when booking that certain room isn't guaranteed. Rooms are not soundproof! Like it was said could hear the people next to us everything they said. Basically a lot is false asvistising. But very nice spot and some lovely people.

Just wanted to say a big Thank You to Sylvia from Jesmond Executive Villas for all her assistance and understanding during our recent visit to Newcastle. Our apartment was absolutely amazing, modern and fully facilitated with all our needs for one night stay. Three large TV 's in each room — Bathroom with fixed & hand held fittings. Central remote for lighting & Aircon — Text message with all information detailed specifically — Entry with login number & No key to worry about — Shutters and blockout curtains for noise reduction and privacy. Beds were amazing and luxurious. Highly recommended.

Lovely room, well appointed, neat and clean. Fantastic showers, huge bed. Walls a bit thin (can hear neighbours) but not a big deal. Would definitely stay again.

Wouldn't let me cancel a booking 72 hours and 18 minutes before check in because they have a 72 hour before check in no cancel policy. Now I am paying for a room I cant physically make it to with no refund! What a difference that 18 minutes has made. Wrecked my weekend! What kind of business driven greedy person made that decision! THANKS FOR NOTHING! So for ANYONE READING THIS please do me a favour and ring them and tell them that your NOT going to stay because of this review you have read. At least that way they might see that customer service is of foremost importance in hospitality and that we are not just here to fill their pockets. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed for one night and it was great. We stayed in a 1brm apartment. The reception staff were very friendly. Our unit had a spa in it which was amazing. There was two tv's which was great because while hubby watched football, I was free to watch. Anything else! The biggest thing for me though, was that it's a pet friendly facility, and let me tell you, it's NOT easy to find a pet friendly hotel/motel that doesn't a) carry a reasonable price but look (and smell) like a dump, or b) is clean but costs an absolute fortune. But the standard of cleanliness and the price at JEV is unbeatable. I am extremely pleased. I really can't fault our stay at JEV. The unit was impeccable and the experience made traveling with our 4 month old Labrador puppy an absolute breeze. I would absolutely go there again.

Very tidy apartments, good location if working all over Newcastle.

Just a warning to others, my honest experience. Please be careful when booking this place. In my case a family of 4 booked this place for 2 nights. The booking was made through the motel/hotel's website, and at the time I was assured over the phone that I would be booking a standard room. Unfortunately when we arrived we were given what was obviously a budget room (separate from the main compound). The room was terrible and looked absolutely nothing like the photos, and when I mentioned this I was told photos are "representative, " but it was not even close. To make matters worse, the cleaners had left some old laundry on the middle of floor, and the room was also smelly. Needless to say, we complained and the dirty laundry was removed after half an hour and also a boy from the motel ran to the shops to get an air-freshner. Bed sheets also looked unclean. We were clearly over charged for this room, and the junior members of the team were in agreement with us and said we can get a refund and go to another motel (which we were ok with as this place was simply unacceptable, especially considered the price). Unfortunately, the manager (an arrogant and extremely rude man) decided this was unacceptable and declined the refund and was pressuring us to stay. It was only after much heated debate he agreed to give us lodging in one of his own sister motels (that selfish for their money), and although nicer, we had to pay the price difference if we wanted to change.

I booked a room for a Friday night, which was owned and managed by Newcastle Executive Apartments. There were two female friends and myself who were visiting from overseas. I had to pick up the key from an entirely different location, which was annoying but bearable. The real problems started at 11:30 that night. The three of us were outside on the balcony having some drinks with an iPad playing music. I didn't think it was too loud for a Friday night at 11:30pm although if someone had asked, we were more than willing to go inside. I went inside to get a drink and found my phone with 16 missed calls — very unusual for me. I called the number back. The person answered with "if you don't turn the F#*@ing music off and get off the F#*@ing balcony ill come up there and throw you off the F#*@ing balcony". Yes, he basically threatened to kill me. I asked who this was and he told me it was the owner of the place I was staying in. I later learned that it was Tony the owner and boss of NEA. As you can imagine I was quite annoyed and told him to come up if he had an issue, thinking he wouldn't be able to get in. He assured me he would be able to get in. Slightly worried I told him I had no issue with turning the music down but he had no right to call me up and abuse me like that and it would have been better if he had asked me politely or came and knocked on the door to ask. I really had no issue with going inside, although it was not very loud.

Finding it hard to compare all but one of the previous reviews with our experience here last night. After frantically searching for accommodation after an exploded hot water system at home left us without any water, we found a 2 bedroom apartment here on short notice and were beyond pleasantly surprised with the visit. The apartment was spotless, the furnishings and fittings in the loungeroom and kitchen of high name brand quality with the bonus of a spa in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful during check in. If there is anything to complain about, I would say the beds are a tad firmer than most would find comfortable and the wheel bases on tiled floor means any moving at night might roll the bed slightly. If that is all I have to complain about the places I stay in, whether for work or leisure, they have done a damn fine job. Will definitely be back, especially given the extremely close proximity to the Newcastle Disc Golf Course. (Whoops, logged in under my wifes account! ).

Well we stayed here in room 42 and it was disgusting I dont think it had been cleaned from the last guests that stayed there I will never stay here again. They manager was rude towards the guests yelling abuse at his staff also using foul language around the motel there was sand in the bed cupboards were dirty the bathroom had mould around the edge you could see the water mark around the bath shower screen was full of scum the doona covers on the beds were stained microwave was not clean overall I will never stay at this place again in the end I went across and bought all cleaning products and cleaned the room so at least we felt comfortable pease be very careful in booking at this motel as the manager is a very nasty man with guests and staff in future we will take notice of reviews.
