It was really nice — clean and tidy. The people running it were super cool.

Fantastic accommodation and location, lovely clean rooms and amenities, close to vineyards, town and pub. Has everything you need to enjoy yourself!

Wouldn’t let me stay here because they didn’t allow animals on premises — fair enough that’s fine, so I asked if I can park out on the street off premises (there was a gravel area safe enough for me to park which was roughly 100-200meters away from any rooms etc) and they still said no and immediately refunded me and asked me to leave. I don’t see how there would be any issues if I’m outside of the property. In the 4, nearly 5 years I’ve been traveling with animals, this has never happened. I’ve always been able to park somewhere that doesn’t bother people. So, I’m quite flabbergasted… definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Very nice hostel! Pretty new ( I guess) and very clean! good kitchen and bathrooms. With an outdoor bbq area and pool. Laundry is 4$, dryer 1$ (10min). It’s a bit far from town, but they do have pizzas. And there’s a brewery in walking distance, where you can taste beer and have lunch/dinner. Only issue for me was that there’s no heating in the room and it was quite cold on the shadow side of the building.

Clean Hostel. Convenient with amenities. Comfy bed.

The place is good. But if u gonna find a warm day is better change hostel! no air con at all and after a wine tour is only thing you need.

Outdoor pool and bbq, very nice, new and clean facilities, staff is awesome, only drawback was that the rooms was very warm and just a fan to cool down.

Book a Yha. Top thing to do. Great pool and shared spaces for large groups.

After arriving well past business hours, even though the the YHA had closed for the day I was still able to get a room, thanks to the understanding nature of the gentleman that was working the evening. Thankyou! 10/10

Super run Youth Hostel. Located directly in the Hunter Valley and also has rooms with shower and toilet.

It's a nice and decent hostel. Beautiful location.

The place is clean and the staff are super nice. Small family owned business, had a real good time :)

Excellent Hostel… Very clean and relaxing. Beautiful time telaxing on verhanda overlooking Vineyard. Staff very helpful.

Second visit for our 6 monthly staff gathering — could not ask for a nicer place and staff… thanks Nigel for another great stay.

Really friendly front desk staff and they are open to eight PM so can check in late after touring the wineyards. Don't forget to bring your own towels! It can get noisy as rooms are very close to each other but there is a quite period after 10pm. In the end for the price, it's a winner.

So many good memories! Adults sleeping in bunks — 4 to a room. Like school days!

Booked the double bed hoping to have it nice and cozy as we were sick, but after checking in we realized, there is no heater in the room. Asked for it but got told, the room is heated through the common room which is next to it. Asked again for a heater but was then told to go to bigw to buy one myself. I could not believe it, what kind of customer service that is. We thought of cancelling but then saw a sign saying: no refund for any reason. Also, be aware that you have to go outside to go to the toilet or the kitchen or anywhere else. It is noisy as everything is wooden and when someone walks past your room you will hear it. Especially when there are check ins later in the night and they come with a trolley. We were then when it was fully booked and kids ran around and made a big mess, the men toilet was disgusting-the pee didn't make it inside the toilet but everywhere else and it didn't help that the place was cleaned only once a day. Vomit in the female toilets. If it is fully booked and there are only two toilets and showers for more than 10 rooms, maybe clean or at least check it more often. When more than one person had a shower there was hardly any water coming out of the tap and it was only warmish and it was freezing in the bath as it is not heated either. Other than that, the location is ok and everything is brand new.

Nigel and his wife were so friendly and made us feel completely at home. The property was beautiful with nice clean rooms and kitchen. The location was superb and Nigel even picked us up and dropped us off at the station as we were using public transport. We hired bikes and Nigel gave us excellent knowledge of where to go wine tasting. I would highly recommend this place was a superb weekend away.

Took the double bed private room. Quite expensive room but quiet and close to the city. Owner was very helpful as well. Recommended!

Very nice and quiet, gorgeous verandah and good movie room. They booked a really nice wine tasting vineyard tour for me that picked up right outside the door. However… When I was there the spa was out of order and the website still advertised a spa! I didn't even know the spa was out until I was in my swimmers and standing at the gate reading the sign that said it's closed. Maybe tell people ahead of time or take it off the website. Also, if you don't have a car this is a very inconvenient place to stay. Very out of town on a busy road with nothing walking distance. I didn't know this so I didn't have food with me and had to walk 2k on the side of a highway to a petrol station to get food.

Hostel was quiet and cozy. We had a wine tour pick us up right out front, which was very convenient. There weren't any heaters in the room and we were there in the winter, so it was a bit chilly. The staff was really nice.
