$240 for 1 night felt like you were stuck in the room couldn’t even open the window, dirty. We booked this motel for the pool and wasn’t even told about the pool being closed. When we checked out they asked did you use anything from the mini bar! Well no as there was nothing in it?
Very disappointed in our stay our room for 240 a night considering we couldn’t use any of there facilities and restaurants. Closed couldn’t even eat there. Not happy.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. We found roaches in the room, noisy housekeeping staff, no quilt cover on the bed. The quilt was stained and bare, between 2 flat sheets. To top it off, they have charged us twice and still have not refunded us the money. I'll be calling to speak to a manager today.

staff are very rude completely ruined my New Year’s Eve. Room had a strange smell.

Perhaps the 25 odd people in the apartment next door having a party with music blearing until 1am when I finally had had enough and asked them to keep it down as I have three kids trying to sleep, is why you get a 1 out of 5 star rating from me!

Two nights in a row we’ve been woken by smoke alarms and incredibly loud PA announcements going off in the building, terrifying our 3 year old son to the point of not being able to get him back to sleep. On both occasions there was no emergency but no further explanation has been offered.

We are currently staying here and would not recommend staying here. For the expensive rate they charge, the property is very old and unkept. The heating in the rooms is hard to manage and antiquated. The hall ways and breakfast restaurant are unable to be heated for some reason so it is highly unpleasant having breakfast in the freezing temperature. Tomorrow will consider coming down in my ski jacket! The towels and bedding are old. The one plus of the place is the staff are friendly and I know it is not their fault. For the $ they charge there are many other way better options in Canberra.

Spacious rooms. Good facilities. Well located to Canberra's CBD. Bathrooms could do with a refresh, but everything is clean and works well.

I attended Blue Sky Masterclass. We used 1 of the conference. The ambiance is welcoming. The place is fairly decent but shows signs of old building that needs facelift and upgrade of interior fitout.

Very friendly staff. Great location. Building, rooms, fixtures and fittings are all tired and dated. In-Room dining: Stay away from the pepper steak and green curry — I get the feeling they are not freshly made but days old as I got mildly sick from each one twice (so 4 occuances) and the rice was dry/hard on both occassions. Luckily there are dozens of fantastic places to eat at all within 500m or so.

This motel is in a great place, close to every thing. The staff are friendly, and very helpful. I must say though the room we are in is supposed to be disability friendly, it has some issues. Room 101, has a walk in shower though not big enough for a wheelchair bound person to access it, and the shower head should be hand held, and there is no handrail. The doorway to the bathroom is narrow, and is obstructed by the bed. I hope management gets this information because any disabled person booking this room would be seriously disappointed and inconvenienced.

Very comfortable apartments. The one bedroom apartment is particularly spacious with a good sized balcony. The interiors are a little dated but not enough to bother me. It's located about a ten minute walk to a big shopping centre, and lots of food places.

Rooms are good size and very well maintained. Staff are wonderful and lovely to deal with all requests in a timely manner. Only downside was the apartments don't contain ovens.

Very convenient spot close to the city centre. Very nice room, allowed four people to stay in a one bedroom, living room arrangements. They also provided a portable bed for us which proved to be helpful. Payment taken on checkout with no drama. Friendly people. Overall, it was a good experience!

No Restaurant or bar on a Sunday night, Poorly presented reheated meal delivered, menu items had run out at 6:30 pm no diet soft drinks available. Ordered cans of drinks was delivered glasses with glad wrap over the top. Television was on full volume and remote would not work to turn it down.

The only good thing about this hotel is it's location. This is not a 4 star hotel — Our room, was meant to have a king size bed. It was two uncomfortable single beds put together. The duna had yellow stains on it, don't really know why it didn't have a quilt cover… The walls had marks and stains, and the bathroom was unattractive. The lampshades has tears. Overall a lack of attention to detail. Didn't like paying for parking, given it was already a high price. Have experienced better and cheaper hotels in Canberra.

With a great location just minutes walk from the CBD, Mantra on Northbourne is a haven for those visiting Canberra. Secured Carpark, pool, 24hr reception desk plus all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The shower heads could be a little higher, but the world wasn't made for giants. Anyone under 6 foot will have no problem.

Beware of staying in this motel, do your self a favour and find somewhere else to stay hassle free. We arrived and checked into motel, we asked about parking to be told $15 for the night. Not told pending availability. We returned from our outing and car park was full, to be told by reception yes it is pending on avaliability. This is on booking details we were told. So looking for overnight parking then became a nightmare. So if you want guaranteed parking with your accomodation this is not the one for you. We also planned to purchase a movie from the movies on demand however this channel was fuzzy and buzzy being unable to. We visit Canberra a few times a year and we won't be making the mistake of staying here again as this has placed a downer on our weekend away!

Good hotel. Poool and gym could use update but sauna excellent.

Stayed in a 1b apartment for 4 nights. Excellent location, friendly staff and inside the apartment was spacious and clean. However the apartment was basic and dated with only a view of the windowless government building opposite — balcony was dirty and pretty much unusable. Good choice if you can get a deal — we used ANZ points so it felt like good value — but don’t expect to be wowed!

Booked a two bedroom room and don't expect luxury at Mantra but do expect clean, functioning facilities. 1. Front door cant be locked 2. Pillows missing 3. No remote control for TV 4. Young kids party in the gym 5. No washing powder 6. Bathroom not clean 2&5 got addressed… never been so disappointed with a Mantra hotel.

Somewhat dated, but pleasant hotel. Breakfast is (an expensive) extra, but the rooms are clean and roomy and the staff are firendly. Worth 3 stars, but like the rest of Canberra, it is overpriced compared to accommodation in almost any other city.

The room layout and facilities were great! I did think that the place could do with a coat of paint — lots of marks on the walls. Oh and the housekeeping could have been slightly better. A mouldy bath plug, and an empty water bottle found under the bed. The location was fantastic. Once all the construction around is done it will be quieter and it's just a short stroll to the central food districts.

Pretty old room interiors, utensils, t. V. Personally, the kitchen is too small to cook conveneintly. Room service is prompt. There's the cafe and restaurant — Stock, but didn't order to review the food quality and eating experience.

A reasonable business or tourist destination. The usual amenities and a quite nice restaurant.

Very handy location, with an easy walk to lots of great cafes and bars. The rooms are spacious and clean, if a tiny bit worn around the edges. Cooking facilities are a bit on the basic side, but fine for reheating meals or cooking simple dishes. It's quiet, and the service is friendly and helpful.

Helpful staff who upgraded us for a belated Valentine's/first night away from daughter ever. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Had a very special night away.

Not bad, but the beds were a bit small. The carpark was quite a challenge to navigate with it being so narrow. But overall a decent stay.

Staff are nice and polite. They were happy to keep topping up my Wi-Fi for free. Rooms are clean and big, not too old. Would definitely stay here again. Updated with second stay below. Edit: on another stay I wasnt so pleased. Found the pillows to be extremely dirty with dust marks visible. I'm allergic to dust mite and it's been a difficult experience. The following the day house keeping didn't even come until I called reception after 6pm.

Decent serviced apartments. Didn't get to try the restaurant as they were closed for lunch and dinner over the holidays. The pool is more like a giant bath tub, so don't expect to do laps… It was also freezing cold so the kids were shivering in about 5 minutes! Rooms and facilities were fine, although starting to look slightly worn in a few places eg leaking tap handles but nothing major or important.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean but I had a used shower cap in the box so was unable to use this. Also had a broken towel rack in the bathroom that kept on falling off the wall. Had to go down to reception each day to get fresh towels as they did not have anyone cleaning the rooms due to the public holidays.

Really nice place. A bit old but spacious and has all amenities. Walking distance to CBD. Great for business trips. Friendly staff.

Apartment was nice and spacious and staff in the foyer are friendly. The snacks and drinks are really expensive though.

Would not stay here again. Laziest housekeeping ever experienced in a hotel. At the price paid I expect the minimum of bed made and fresh towels. A mere half minute of extra time would have resulted in a different experience and a differet review. Not bothering to straighten the bottom sheet but bizarrely making the top cover look tidy cost you my repeat business. We had to remake the bed each night to sleep in it. No towels left one day although reception delivered more when told. Hotel location good, staff at desk good, general cleanliness OK at 6 out of 10, bed very comfortable.

Very positive experience. The staff upgraded our room at no extra charge and let us check on early. The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel had plenty of amenities including an in-house restaurant, pool, sauna and gym.

Great location, within short walking distance to Canberra Centre and restaurants. Single apartment was clean, lounge room was spacious with an good sized outdoor balcony. Bathroom needed to be cleaned. Great amenities eg: washing machine. Secure onsite parking at a cheap rate for 24hrs per car. Good customer service with attention to detail. Would highly recommend the Mantra on Northbourne.

Reasonable sized rooms that are clean and well kept. Staff were really friendly and the location of the hotel is only a short walk from some amazing restraunts and shopping.

Ticks all the boxes, superior suite was spacious and comfortable, apartment living with daily housekeeping. Location is central but you will have to pay for parking. Internet will cost you but Telstra reception is great. Late 90s early 00s style interior and clean. The restaurant has good dinner options.

We spent one night and had a great time. Rooms were clean, beds comfy, the location was perfect, our only issue was that the swimming pool was closed and we weren't advised of that at the time of booking or check in and actually made our way to the pool to find a closed sign… other than that, we had a great stay and would recommend it.

Friendly staff, clean and fairly comfortable rooms, slightly dated and stained in places but fairly good overall. The bed looked huge but was just two joined single beds, not very comfy. The docomo TV system is outdated and picture quality on the TV is poor. Rooms serviced daily, bring your own tea and coffee though as the stuff in the room is rubbish.

Nice hotel for business trips. Close to the CBD. Easy parking around the hotel on the weekends. However hotel parking has much to be desired. Too Tight and cramped.

Hotel staff are lovely. Comfy bed, very clean. Restaurant has well priced, delicious food. They happily store luggage before and after check in.

Our overal stay was great friendly staff great service lovely spacious rooms comfy beds and great location and food for a good price … the only reason I give 4 stars was that the parking was hard for me to get in and out of as I drive a large car and it's very tight and not much height… the toilet had an issue and wouldn't flush half way through our stay but staff were quick and helpful to fix the problem … the pool was not what I imagined it to be it was a little scary the pool is basically in a small room so didn't swim the floors were wet and slippery around it and isn't much room to move … the gym leaves a lot to be desired was very disappointed But aside from superficial stuff a very nice place to stay.

Great location close to all great food and shopping in walking distance! The room is very comfy and cosy for a big family. The staffs are wonderful!

Pros: The staff on the front desk, proximity to shops. Cons: lifts are crap and buttons don't work half the time, cooking equipment was inadequate for a two month stay and was missing quite a lot of utensils. House keeping kept messing with my air con settings until I hid the remote, shower baths, I hate shower baths, bedroom furniture was impractical ie bed side table draws fit a packet of condoms and that's about it. Why have I still given it 5 stars? Because the staff at reception were amazing! Especially Brittany and Maria if it wasn't for their service mantra would be getting 1 star.

Spent a couple of days attending a training course in the conference facilities. Staff were always professional, helpfull and friendly. Lunchtime arrangements were a bit chaotic for our large group. Would help having a dedicated queuing area. Food was tasty. Thanks.

The mantra is a very nice accommodation, rooms are clean and well kept. Staff are very friendly. I have enjoyed my stay at the mantra and would recommend it to anyone seeking to stay in Canberra.

The mantra on northbourne was a very acommodating, brilliantly located hotel. The staff were helpfup and quick to share in a joke. The rooms were nice and functional nothing unexpected or particularly notable.

Had a room for 3 persons all in one room beds were uncomfortable could not sleep with window open due to noise from underground parking access door and pedestrian traffic. Air conditioner was noisy and blew cool air over one occupant while she was in bed (90 year old lady) so ended up closing window and turning off air cond. Toilet had half roll of toilet paper and no spares for 2women and one man not the best experience in addition the balloon flight we had had come for was called off!

Room is very big, but I could not sleep much because its next to main road, not comfortable beds, bit dusty inside room. Pay car parking, they charge everything in room including water bottle, location is excellent. There is everything in a room like washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, electrical stove, dishes etc, but to use it there are ristrictions so I dont bother to use it. After I stayed two days they give me 50 dollars e voucher which you can use for next time stay they're group of hotels but I dont think I never go again.

The hotel seems to be in a good central location. The check in process was easy and staff were polite. The room I had was spacious (509). The bed was quite hard though. The bathroom was pretty basic (shower over bath). One of my towels had a stain which looked like makeup of blood. Check out was easy too. It's hard to give a detailed review after one night. I'd probably stay here again when in Canberra.

Room was great, staff very accommodating and the breakfast was good. But you need to stop charging $100 as a bond, it takes a month for the banks to release the funds and I travel a lot and don't want $300 to $400 a week tied up every week in bonds if I were to use hotels that charge this kind of bonds. The average at the moment is $1.

Clean rooms, frequent service. They really look after you.

Stayed at the Mantra last weekend for 3 nights with a friend as we had a WRAAC army reunion to attend. Great twin accomodation, good air conditioning & windows that opened for fresh air when needed which most hotels don't have. Had bath/shower hand rails, ample car parking, could walk to War Memorial, 2 blocks from City Centre & Maccas around the corner for breakfast! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends…

We had a comfortable room, and staff were very helpful. Mantra is conveniently located near Civic, and we were very happy with our stay.

Let me see you come back from this one Mantra. I stay here for work once a month and it's pretty much what the other reviews say, "decent rooms, average food" etc. First time back for 2016, I was put in room 907 where the shower did not stop dripping and the toilet was on a permanent flush mode which was so irritating to listen to and noisy. Next, the aircon was louder than a Metallica concert, thus forcing me to keep it off in the middle of summer. Worst. Sleep. Ever. I informed the friendly staff the next day and they said they'd fix it. Later when I returned to my room, the staff informed that everything was fixed. It wasn't. The toilet was still making this horrible, loud flushing noise. I informed reception and they provided me with a new room and I had to pack my things and move, perhaps someone could help me with my bags next time? It's called "courtesy", look it up. When I arrived at room 801 I was starving by this stage and ordered myself the spaghetti and meatballs. The Mediterranean spaghetti is what I received. I couldn't believe how many stupid mistakes were happening by this point. I called reception, again — and they replaced it with the saddest excuse for spaghetti. Half of the spaghetti was burnt and the rest wasn't even cooked properly (I would upload the photos but there isn't an option for that) — probably because you tried to rush it up to me. I'm tired. I'm hungry. I'm exhausted. This has gone past the point of rude and unprofessional.

I think that this place is really beautiful. Well kept rooms. Excellent location. Undercover security parking. The pool area is pretty ordinary. No decent storage in the room for suitcases or clothes.

I was extremely disappointed to find that the TV doesn't support either HDMI or USB playback. Seriously, I've stayed at motor inns at Coff's Harbour that boasted better facilities. 2 years ago. Very disappointed : (.

Stayed along with three other couples. All of us were completely satisfied with our rooms, the service provided by the staff and the price. Would stay here again.

Arrived 15/2/2013 given key to room 9th floor, start unpacking, get ph call given wrong room. Pack up move to 1st floor, go out for a drink happy hour have 1 drink, told Bundy rum isn't a standard spirit which it is, they want $7.50 instead of $4.00 go back to room key doesn't work back to reception key re done. 5am Saturday morn truck delivery to hotel parks right beside our window with motor running, by 8.30am another 2 trucks with refrigerated units running non stop. $12.00 parking fee not mentioned on wotif site. Wife complains about all this at reception, no discount no sleep and virtually called liars about trucks and parking fee. they also say wi fi then want $20 per day ripoff Not Happy Mantra.
