Zariklis

A wonderful guesthouse in a perfect location in Theth. The family are generous and kind hosts, the food is lovely and the view is unbelievable. Rooms are pretty simple but clean, there's Wi-Fi, and good places to eat and chill out.

Just arrived n very happy with my private room as a solo walker n the very warm reception. A full review will follow after my stay. Just want to give a general warning to everyone that Google is woefully out of date n inaccurate. New roads have replaced many of the trail recommended by Google eg walk to the Church from the bus station took me to an over grown trail ignoring a new road.
Zariklis was not my first choice but my selected GH had to cancel my booking due to major issues with their plumbing. As luck/karma would have it, I was offered Zariklis and it turned out to be a winner. The service (friendliness n food) was top notch country fare. A special mention about the garden salad n the fried dumplings which were outstanding. As a snr age solo walker I appreciated the cosy single room given to me and the almost unsuite toilet n shower which was clean n functional. Zariklis is near the church n therefore is on the downstream fringe of the village, about 1km making it closer to Blue Eye n the Waterfall. It is very peaceful n quiet here at night compared to staying in the village centre where it becomes party capital at night, totally unbecoming of being here in the first place. I stayed 3 nights. Theth is a piece of Heaven on Earth.

We stayed here for two nights, and from the very beginning, Peter was an exceptional host. Google Maps misled us, and we ended up stuck on a steep, unpaved road (Rruga Grunas) behind the hotel. (For anyone visiting, just search for ‘Kisha e Thetit’ instead! ) We called Peter, and he immediately came to our rescue, helping us get the car out. Not only that, but after our little adventure, he even called a local restaurant, Jezerca, where we ended up having the best Tave-Dheu of our entire trip. His kindness and hospitality made our stay truly memorable!

Lovely guesthouse. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. The food was great, breakfast and dinner at the house plus a huge packed lunch to take hiking. It's a fantastic base for exploring the mountains.

I stayed here in July with 2 friends and had an amazing time. I visit Albania every summer with my family, however this was my first time going to Theth. The food provided at the guesthouse is excellent, and the hospitality is one of the best I’ve experienced not only in Albania but in all of Europe. My friends birthday coincided with our stay and the lovely hostess was so kind as to make us a delicious dessert to celebrate with. It is in a perfect location, close to both the church, waterfall and Blue Eye. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Theth to come here :) Faleminderit shumë për mikpritjen!

We loved our two nights at this family-run business! Breakfast was delicious, hosts were attentive and kind, perfect location for hiking to the blue eye and clean dorms. We opted to eat dinner at Zariklis on our second night and highly recommend (10 euros) — we ate like kings — pasta, meat, veggies and salad — so yummy! They organized our transport back to Shkodër very easily and let us draw cash to pay for the accommodation in Shkoder as the ATM in Theth wasn’t working! All in all — we made incredible memories here and would love to have stayed longer. Thank you for making our stay so incredibly special.

We just stayed with Ada and her family and it was great. Super friendly and always helpful. Unfortunately we just stayed for one night, because we did the Theth — Valbona hike the next day. We‘d always come back to their hospitality. You should definitely consider staying more than one night. Greetings and see you soon! :)

I recently stayed at Hostel Zariklis in what has to be the most beautiful village I’ve ever visited. The setting was idyllic, and dining in the charming courtyard was a perfect end to each day. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, making the experience feel like a home away from home. If you’re looking for a genuine, warm, and memorable stay in a picturesque village, this is the place to be!

I stayed two nights at Zariklis and I was heart broken to leave! Peter and Victoria were the most amazing hosts, I felt so welcome and like family throughout my stay. The breakfasts and dinners were always absolutely amazing and it was so fun to eat with other guests (if you want) and have a temporary community in Theth. The guesthouse is also located so close to the famous church and the starting point of the waterfall and blue eye hikes. Couldn’t recommend this guesthouse more to anyone looking for a place to relax in Theth!

We’re staying there at the moment. It’s further from the trendy touristic villas in the city center. You really get the feeling and the taste of Albania with the mountains surrounding you. The family is probably the best Ive seen so far! Cousins are visiting and its so nice to see them all together. The host is so kind and helpful, the place is calm is gorgeous. The garden is full of flowers, the food is just amazing and views are incredibles. I definitely recommend this place!
