The hotel has changed since I was last in Lusaka. Rooms more compact and really well furnished. The service has been marvelous and the staff friendly.

Good ambiance good food but the customer service is horrible, waitresses treat you some type of way according to where the place you… kinda felt like I was bothering them on all the occasions that I have been there.

A relaxing environment with conference facilities of an acceptable standard. The internet connection has improved since my last visit in 2010. The staff is warm and welcoming and provide service of a high standard.

Very pleasant staff, clean environment. However, the kitchen staff did a poor job of not putting labels on the various dishes one to to pick from. You had to second guess yourself or call for assistance. Not cool!

Southern Sun is the place to go if you love exotic surreal places… It is strategically located including having in its vicinity the Zambia National Service (among other places) which means guests will feel secure anytime of day. Aside from that the hotel has good food, reasonably priced rooms, a bank within the premises, has conference, weddings facilities etc. The hospitality is absolutely beautiful.! Good place to try!

The location is perfect, its near CBD and also their food is one of the kind. Nice place for lunch or dinner.

As far as hotels in Africa go, I was quite impressed with this one. Incredibly clean, modern feel and fresh look, and very central. Friendly staff willing to help with anything and always lots going on. The restaurant food was also good though the service was a bit slow on each of the 7 nights I was there. There is a buffet most evenings and a la carte for those that want it. Definitely recommend staying here and make sure you check out the crocodiles they keep in their center water feature. No joke, there are five of them! They feed them twice a week if you want to be around to see them do it!

Beautiful hotel, centrally located and close to Levy Mall. Hotel endowed with beautiful gardens that give you a sense of calmness. The restaurant offers food with great taste.

The food was great, I ordered a Ridgeway burger, was ready in less than 15 minutes. The customer service was great. I enjoyed my meal by the refreshing crocodile pond (very safe).

I have had the best dinners at Southern sun Lusaka. We've had great birthday celebrations too. Very nice place, friendly and helpful waiters.

My first time there. The beautiful cool breeze and colourful birds chirping while you enjoy a glass of wine by the restaurant is amazingly serene. Absolutely loved that. The only reason I'm not giving it more stars is that it was a pain to get someone to wait on us. Sort of felt like we weren't being taken seriously. The food was also not up to my expectations. Ordered a medium rare rump and I got medium to well done and when I mentioned that to the waiter after the meal I didn't get a sincere apology. The steak also had some burnt and very bitter bits which made it hard to eat and overall the whole meal was bland. I'd recommend it for the wine and the breeze by the restaurant.

There is need improve on the check in staff in terms of their reception. Also place more clarity on what time a guest can check in to count as a day. Say if I arrive on an early flight and check in at a time after 24hrs. How should I be treated? Service should be irrespective of nationality.

It's amazing hotel, and it's has an awesome surrounding areas… located at a very central place.

Good food and if you're there on Tuesday or Thursday at 10am you can see them feed their small crocodiles and watch the Weaver Birds in their nests over the fountain pond.

It a great meeting place, with a good restaurant and relaxing patio that has the Ridgeways hallmark pool with weaver bird nests among the reeds.

Comfortable and the service is good. The manager is especially lovely. They have a cocktail evening each Wednesday where the staff get to meet and greet the guests, I find that very refreshing. I will definitely be staying there whenever I am in Lusaka. The restaurant staff is also exceptionally good, even when dealing with difficult patriots. Keep it up guys.

Southern sun is very hospitable with mouth watering dishes and a lovely breakfast. I enjoyed the capuccino at breakfast. The staff are friendly and courteous, cleanliness is perfect, generally I had no complaint and look forward to another booking when next in Lusaka. I missed the meet and greet cocktail organised by the manager but it was very thougtful and I felt really welcome!

Whenever I'm in Lusaka this is the first place I go. I always wait for my dad who picks me up from here. In my waiting, I order a drink and chill by the area just outside the bar overlooking the pond. An awesome place if you're going for a mellow, feel good type of experience. This place has seen me finish many novels and basically just art work I left for later. in a nutshell, it's AWESOME.

Am writing this in one of the rooms overlooking Church Road from the Southern Sun. Simply put, its excellent.
