Just returned from a weekend stay at this wonderful hotel. Small and personal. Best staff I have ever encountered… each and every one of them so friendly, smiling and prepared to go above and beyond. For me the little details you tend not to get any more were present… fresh flowers in all public rooms, rooms attended to with care and the tea/coffee facilities replenished, breakfast to order with all details covered. Beautiful garden (we were lucky with the weather) to enjoy. I’ve probably missed lots of things to compliment but cannot recommend highly enough and can’t wait to re-visit. Recommend to all my friends and family and anyone who reads this.

We had a lovely overnight stay at hotel Parisi. It has an interesting style and was very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is small, quirky and in a great location. The staff are absolutely amazing and would not be out of place in a top London hotel. Their care of their guests from the moment you walk in is fabulous. The bed was so comfy and the room clean and had a fan, hairdryer, toiletries and loads of different tea and other hot drinks on the tray — and a kettle that didn't take two hours to boil!
Breakfast is plentiful and beautifully cooked and the added little something us the use of a lovely library complete with (eco) log burner, where you can bring your own wine/ beer and be provided with glasses, or take a hit drink which they provide.
Just a perfect place to stay.

Lovely little hotel within walking distance to the centre with loads of great places to eat nearby. Nice room with everything you need and an excellent choice of breakfast. However, by far the best thing about this place was the amazing staff. They were all so helpful and they gave us lots of advice about what to see and where to eat. They were also very attentive to the needs of my pregnant wife which was fantastic. We definitely recommend staying here and if we come to York again it will be top of our list!

Friendliest accommodation in Britain and that's no bull! Rooms are a bit small but that's typical of York. Great location, breakfast is excellent. Wonderful experience.

From the minute I booked it I had received an email asking me if I wanted to change deal and get a free breakfast for me and my partner both days we were there. I then received an email with information such as travel, parking and even their favourite places to eat in York. When we arrived they were nothing but helpful and friendly, showing us around, asking our plans and how the drive Was, showing us their personal preferences to eat on a map. Even when we struggled a little with the car park there was an oncall phone number who happily assisted what we now know as us being a bit stupid! The library is the most cutest area ever and I could have happily spent the whole time just in that room. We went downstairs where we were offered complimentary drinks ans biscuits which we werent expecting but was very nice. Due to a little leak in the breakfast room that tripped a switch in our room we were offered a free upgrade into a different room when the woman helped us move all our stuff across and the room itself was beautiful and the bed was huge! Come dinner time we didn't know what we wanted to eat and were given a lot of different suggestions including family favourites and places to avoid which was very much appreciated! The breakfast was so cute and even if something wasn't on the menu they would happily make it if they could and were very attentive.

This fabulous hotel and its amazing staff show the true meaning of the phrase "nothing is too much trouble". We stayed here with friends and we were beyond impressed at the customer service, the kindness, the attention to detail, the quality of everything. The breakfasts are fabulous, the outside courtyard garden is a joy, the lovely touches of umbrellas, face wipes, organic toiletries, reading glasses, hints and help to find our way around and fantastic recommendations for eating out. Complimentary tea and coffee and chilled water, biscuits, sweets, beautiful towels and bed linen… I could go on (and on and on and on) The Parisi is not just one of the best hotels in York its one of the best hotels ANYWHERE. The entire team of staff, Hannah and Sax and all, you are just wonderful, smiling, kind, generous, welcoming and a joy to be with and talk to. Thank you SO much for all you did to make our time with you a memory to treasure. We will be back for sure!

A truly lovely place, full of small but appreciated touches. The communal areas and our room were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice lounge and garden to relax in. There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room with a good selection of drinks to chose from, and the delicious breakfast set us up perfectly for the day. The city centre is 5 minutes' walk or so away, and there's some independent shops, bars and restaurants just around the corner too. They also have some of the best staff we have been lucky enough to encounter at a hotel — really friendly and helpful without being too formal or overbearing. Parking isn't on site (it's about a 5 minute drive), but you get vouchers to cover the cost (24 hours per night of your stay). It's not the cheapest play to stay in York but if you're looking to treat yourself then I doubt you could so much better. We'd not hesitate to return.

Excellent little hotel, fantastic and homely shared lounge with a fortifying breakfast menu. Very convenient for York city centre. Car parking in a nearby pay-and-display (150 metres) but included in the room-rate. Definitely one to go back to.

Lovely place, brilliant staff. Really comfy stay and felt at home. Car park is about 10 mins brisk walk but it’s included in the price and there’s a drop off point at the hotel for luggage. Will definitely stay again and recommend.

Great location, convenient to all of the main sights. Breakfast was provided in the rate and a nice start to the day. Rooms are in good condition but a little on the small side. Recommended!

We stayed at The Parisi under it's previous name. It really was an excellent and most comfortable stay. Very well hosted by the owners. Very well situated. We really recommend this hotel to anybody visiting York and the surrounding areas.

A wonderful stay for the first wedding I conducted as a Celebrant. Maria and Sophie were fabulous hostesses at this welcoming B&B Hotel. The decor, bedding and ambience were all that I could have hoped for. Thank you, and "I'll be back".

We spent one night at St Denys in April 2014 and loved it! The rooms were immaculate and obviously recently upgraded. Beautiful bathroom fixtures, large comfy bed, even an exceptional HD TV, and great Wi-Fi. Breakfast was excellent, too. We were sorry we didn't have time to stay another night. Even the location was great; within walking distance of all the attractions we'd planned to visit.

Visited just after a very successful refurb under new management; had a delightful experience. Lovely, clean, well-appointed room with charming view of the church (and comfortable bed! ), extremely helpful and approachable management, and excellent breakfast in the mornings; all exceptionally reasonably priced. Would highly, highly recommend — hotel is also well-placed between the Barbican and the city centre, in easy walking distance (less than 5 mins) of each. A definite keeper for future journeys.

Hi we have just returned from the st Denys in York and I would like to say that the new owners went well above the expected service you expect from a 3 star, the rooms were clean and very comfortable with plenty of room service such as tea coffee and biscuits the new owners were helpful in making our stay very comfortable indeed. When we return to York to visit again the st deny, s will be our first call for availability jean and I have in the past stayed in numerous B&B in Ireland Scotland and wales and can say that the breakfast was up there with the best of them good luck to the new owners and thank you peter and jean from Ramsbottom.
