This was my 2nd visit to The Almar and would highly recommend it. Spotlessly clean, bright and welcoming. John and Julie are excellent hosts. Rooms are really nicely decorated with complimentary hot drinks plus bottled water and chocolate biscuits. Breakfast really is excellent. Great location within minutes walk of Peasholm Park and North Bay.

Love this place just had our 3rd visit and it was just as good as out 1st visit. Julie and John are amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them planning the 4th 5th and 6 visit already.

What a lovely friendly cpl will very clean and tidy close to best parts of scarbrough breakfast amazing best poached eggs ever will definately be returning very soon xxx.

Thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The Almar is a superb establishment. Room was spotless, breakfast superb and the hosts couldn't do enough for me.

A lovely stay at “The Almar”, John and Julie gave us a warm welcome they were very helpful and informative of the local area. Spacious and comfortable room, and well decorated. Lovely breakfast with good quality ingredients. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a 2 night stay at The Almar. Hotel was spotless clean and hosts John and Julie couldn't do enough to accommodate any request. John's breakfasts is delicious and cater for food requirements I had veggie bacon and sausages. Already booked to go back.

The Almar is one of the most friendly and welcoming guest houses we've stayed in, the little things go a long way. Julie and John are fantastic hosts and really make you feel at home and will do everything to make your stay the very best. Would highly recommend the Almar, the place to stay in Scarborough.

A fantastic place to stay. Room was comfortable and clean. All the tea and kit Kats we could eat. John and Julie were so helpful & friendly. The breakfasts filled you up for the day. I will definitely be staying here again.

Had a great 5 days. I was made very welcome and my case taken up for me to a small single room at the very top of the stairs which was overlooking the back gardens but was very quiet of a night. Bed was very comfortable and a nice breakfast, but can't eat big first thing in the morning but I loved my scrambled egg on toast with a bowl of cereal (Not together though) with a coffee. Great location, with Peasholm park just a 5 min walk and the town centre/station just 15 mins but there are buses that goes past The Almar. John & Julie where great hosts and I will return again.

Lovely place to stay, hosts are lovely friendly people. The rooms are comfy and all you need for a great stay in Scarborough. Breakfast was the best we have had at a b&b. Brewing facilities in room are well stocked and hair dryer provided. Will stay here again highly recommend and a big thank you.

Excellent place to stay. They couldn't be more friendly. The rooms were great, food was exceptional nice break. Lovely couple.

Amazing atmosphere amazing couple who own it. They was very concerned when I came back one day with an head injury, and made sure I got some more attention for it. Their breakfast was amazing, and actually filling! The rooms were perfect comfy and inviting. The place was very clean. They even have a little place for the smokers to sit at the front and when it's raining, they have a covered area in the back. They are very lovely and inviting people and would definitely stay there again!

Great guest house John and Julie couldn't do enough for you. Very pleasant clean and tidy. Breakfast served just as you like it. Would certainly go back.

Cannot fault this b&b. John and Julie such lovely hosts, nothing too much trouble. Very clean, beds really confortable and breakfast perfect. The bar is a real bonus and location great. We will be back x.

Stayed one night with our friends back in february and have to say the Almar is spot-on, John and Julie are great hosts and we got to know them a little having stayed in the bar for a while at night with them both. Hotel is very clean and warm and breakfast was excellent… we will be back.

This place is excellent. The owners and staff are second to none. Very clean and the food is excellent. Theres nothing they wouldnt have done for me. Fantastic xxx.

Just returned home from a 3 night stay in the Almar. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are well equipped with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and without stress. But the best thing about this hotel are the hosts, John and Julie are the nicest most welcoming hosts ever. They could not do enough for you and were always on hand asking if everything was okay and if you needed anything. The breakfast was great made with fresh good quality ingredients. We will definitely return as I have never felt so at home in a hotel.

Brilliant Bed and Breakfast! John and Julie are warm, friendly, amazing hosts. Fantastic breakfast and great entertainment at their bar. Nothing is too much trouble, the beds are first class comfy as well as excellent facilities I would recommend anyone to stay at The Almar as they would totally enjoy it, I've stayed at quite a few places in scarbrough but this is the best place by far and will definitely be returning, thank you again John and Julie yet again a wonderful experience. Such a lovely place to stay when visiting Scarborough. Everything is nearby and practical for getting about. The couple made us feel very welcomed and were happy to help us. I'm sure we will be back to visit:)

Run by a lovely couple who made us feel comfortable right from the start. A real treat to meet a couple who are a truly a delight to be around. Spent 1 night at the Almar Sunday 3rd July as me & my husband were going to the Tom Jones concert, Julie & John are fab hosts & run a warm, friendly, relaxed house, nothing was too much trouble for them, or their staff! would definitely recommend & when we go back to Scarborough we will definitely stay here again, plus great value for money & the breakfast was delicious.

We've just spent this weekend at the Almar for a couple of concerts at the open air theatre, fantastically situated for the theatre, just a short few minutes walk away, rooms were really nice and clean with a few extra treats, bed was very comfy and we loved the addition of our four legged cuddly friend seeing as though we had to leave our 2 dogs at home. Julie and John are a lovely friendly couple who greeted us and treated us like friends, and John can certainly make a lovely breakfast with all the trimmings, thank you very much and will certainly stay again next time we're in Scarborough, cheers guys.

Very friendly host, great little room!

The Almar is the best small hotel in Scarborough it is as simple as that, the staff are great the breakfast is spot on the rooms are spotless it is just a lovely place to stay and relax. I will be returning to Scarborough in November and I will without any doubt returning to The Almar where I know it will be warm and cosy. Frank & Carole. Manchester.

This is the place to stay in Scarborough, warm welcome, cosy comfortable rooms, great breakfast and everyone so friendly.

Just come back from a lovely two night break Jamie and the staff were lovely rooms beautiful home from home (sorry for the poorly finger and being nosey lol) highly recommend and the breakfast is too die for.

Home from home lovely welcome and relaxed atmosphere would recommend to anyone with taste.

Great guest house owned and run by great people. Highly recommended to anyone staying in Scarborough.
