Had a lovely stay at East Ayton, was put in a lovely room with a big four poster bed which was very comfy. The food was really nice and came in good time so no complaints there, didn't get to spend time in the gardens as it was hoofing down but it looked amazing. Breakfast was spot on and all in all a good stay, amazing location for Scarborough and the surrounding area.

Great place to stay, a short drive from the coast and beautiful Moors. The staff are friendly, particularly Lottie who went out of her way to greet us everyday. Dogs are more than welcome. The food was good and breakfast can be described as small but tasty! You might want to take a sleep mask as the blinds in the annex don’t keep out the light! But overall a peaceful and relaxing retreat, we would stay again 🙂

Recently come back from a 2 night stay with my mum and two dogs. We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, and this time was no exception. Great location, Great rooms. Excellent food. Could not fault! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Lottie was exceptional and went above and beyond — Very warm and friendly throughout our stay! We cannot wait to come back again. Fantastic stay, the food was lovely, great selection of drinks at the bar, our dogs were just as spoilt as we were and loved exploring the gorgeous grounds! Amy, you were fantastic and your customer service deserves recognition, you are first class. Nothing was too much trouble, and you continuously made us laugh! We can’t wait to come again, we booked direct and would definitely recommend as we even got a free meal with our stay! See you all again in October! (Ps Matilda is EXTREMELY cute! )

We had a fabulous trip and have just re-booked! It's a superb location, set in a quiet village and yet only 12 minutes drive from Scarborough. The staff are really friendly and accommodating and it's perfect for a quiet break. We choose this place as we prefer less busy places for health reasons, and it's perfect.
It's great to be allowed to take furry family members, and there's bins and places to let your dog exercise.
Only 2 gripes: we'd prefer a more adventurous and varied menu (although the food is superb) and we'd like staff to be stricter with monitoring smokers smoking outside their room doors and disabled parking kept free for Blue Badge owners.

Two visits, very comfortable beds, clean / tidy rooms. Very tasty food, great breakfast. Excellent friendly staff.

Poor. Old nappies outside the window. Dirty. Poor sound insulation. Old. Dust in the bowls at breakfast. Flys on the windows while you eat. Dead ones. Needs sine care and attention. Place could be amazing. So much potential.

Quiet and in a nice place, free parking too. It looked really good on the internet. When I arrived I was a bit dissapointed maybe I was expecting too much. Maybe the place just needs a revamp and it was ok just for the one night.

Stayed here with our dog for mini break. Lovely setting and reasonably priced. Ideal venue for a wedding or function if anyones planning one! Rooms were very spacious & had their own front door onto the courtyard which was excellent for access with the dog. All staff were lovely, really pleasant & friendly. Food was very nice, plenty of choice for breakfast & evening meal. Look forward to our next visit.

We were put in the outside rooms there was no light over the outside stairs and the rooms were poor for the money that we paid… The Grand is a far better option! You pay for what you get and get a breakfast too!

Fantastic place lovely people.

Paid for a twin bed room for one night. Was in the area for a birthday party at a nearby pub. Finding it was easy enough as it was well signposted! Got served quickly on arrival. It definitely feels like a lodge as the name of the business suggests! The room was cosy, with two single beds, a TV, two arm chairs, a desk and a small table. Tea and coffee were provided for the room. We found the beds to be a bit too soft for our liking, but liked the room otherwise. We got back to the hotel about 1AM and found the way to the hotel was well lit as well, as we were walking there from the nearby pub. Whilst we tried to be quiet coming back, we did notice that you could easily hear others who got back after us later in the night. I personally didn't sleep well as I'm a heavier person, and the soft mattresses didn't give me much support, but the room was comfortably warm, and the curtains did well to block out the sun for our sunrise facing room. We also had breakfast in the morning, which we found to be very affordable! £7.50 each got us a cooked option (traditional, breakfast muffin, egg on toast), access to the cereal bar, two pots of tea, two slices of toast, and plenty of fruit juice. Checkout was quick and painless. The reception was unmanned when I turned up to leave, but someone was with me in a matter of seconds after ringing the bell.

Went for a wedding and the grounds were big, quiet and gorgeous. Very relaxing. The desserts for the wedding looked beautiful.

Lovely hotel/motel but the rooms are a little dated and in need of abut of tlc. GreY breakfast with a good choice.

A lovely small hotel in a nice location. I recently stayed for one night, bed & breakfast. The room in which I stayed No. 24 was spacious, with 1 double bed and 2 singles, 2 bed side tables, a chest of drawers, wardrobe, dressing table and trouser press and tea and coffee facilities. The room itself was quite dated in appearance, but I enjoyed a comfortable, good night's sleep. It is important to note that the bathroom ceiling is quite low and as such tall guests ~6ft and over may struggle when showering. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of cereals, fruits and made to order cooked breakfasts. Tea, coffee and fruit juice were also very good. There are a few areas where small improvements would make a huge impact on the overall guest experience. Firstly, a detail cleaning of rooms and bathrooms, paying particular attention to fixtures and around furniture. The rooms could be modernised somewhat. Wi-Fi MUST be improved to cover all rooms, not just the bar area, as mobile signal can be limited depending upon your provider. Finally regarding food, extended dinner dining beyond 8.30pm would a huge benefit, and breakfast; changing sausage type and including beans as an option for cooked breakfast would round it off. Overall I would recommend the East Ayton Lodge to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel near Scarborough for short stays, and if the small improvements above were made, I'd extend that recommendation for longer visits.

Clean rooms, plenty of space. Night time food was very good, breakfast could be improved our party had eggs scrambled, fried and poached and nobody was impressed with them, the rest of the breakfast was okay.

This is a 3 star hotel and I would rate it three stars, rooms are really nice although it should be a motel not a hotel has our rooms were across a courtyard and it was never mentione when we booked. I would not have booked had I known that the rooms were outside and as they had no windows other than the front on to the courtyard and if you didnt draw the curtains anyone passing could look in, Consequently the room was very dark. The food here was lovely.

Lovely location,, friendly staff, good with kids.
