Really nice modern room with great views of both North and South bays, great breakfast and friendly staff.

Just returned from are weekend away, excellent hotel, clean, lovely food and very helpful staff. In great location for accessing all of Scarborough.

Highly recommend the selomar came on 14 th sept for 4 nights and the service and rooms were excellent sea view and really clean… also just to let you know the baby hasn’t arrived yet but will post picture when he does. Payne family x.

What can I say except we have had a lovely time! The staff and owners have been wonderful making sure our stay was the best. They couldn't have done enough for us! Breakfast was beautiful (full english) Rooms were lovely and comfy and modern. We had a family room over looking the North Bay with stunning views of the bay, morning sunrise and views of the Castle. Parking was great within our area. We used the car 2 days to travel to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay and parked easily when we returned at night and mid day in our designated parking area. The hotel is in a perfect location with a few minutes walk to a lovely sandy beach ⛱ A 12 minute walk to the castle and about 10 minutes to the main shopping area and about 15 to the South Bay marina where there is arcades and tourist shops and bars. Due to Covid restrictions there was no bar but staff left fridges on for us to put our own drinks in. This didn't spoil our stay and we felt very safe with the safety measures at the hotel and thank management and staff for a very lovely stay. We will definitely be back to see you all for more adventures.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from here and it is amazing. The best place we have stayed in. The views are awesome, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is spotless and done to a very high standard. The beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. I can't wait to return next year.

The hotel is lovely, clean and the the owners are consciousness and family focused. Breakfast was lovely and room is great (family room overlooking the harbour). My son has been nothing but excited the whole time. Best time we've had in a long time x.

What a beautiful place this is. We had our first visit here at the weekend. The owners were very friendly, helpful and nothing was a bother.

Apart from the clean room and the lovely sea view there was nothing welcoming about this hotel. The waitresses were good but only saw the lady owner once and the breakfasts were nothing outstanding. This place is definitely over rated.

Had a fantastic stay here at this lovely hotel with my family. The staff are all very helpful and the rooms we're kept clean and tidy. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic with lots of choice on the menu. Had continental breakfast first followed by a full breakfast and my children loved having pancakes with nuttella. I like my coffee in the morning and they served proper filtered coffee for us every morning. In the lounge area they had comfortable chairs with an honesty bar which meant we could have a snack and drink at any time. The staff we're always happy to help with anything. My children liked going to the park which was just across the road from us and down a hill which was handy as we didn't have to travel far if we wanted to go to the park. I would definitely come back to stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Scarborough.

Stayed here with my partner Stephen and our 2 children from monday to thursday everyone was very friendly and attentive. Room was clean, tidy very spacious especially with 4 of us in the one room breakfast each mornig was fab lots of choice and the poached eggs were perfect every time will be back thank you xx.

Last minute booking for 2 night stay. We stayed in room 10 and it is just like the picture, clean comfortable and spacious, own shower en suite with plentiful hot water. View from the room good and a very comfortable sleep too. Breakfast plentiful and good quality. Staff very helpful and friendly from the owner to the cleaners. If I had to say anything negative … No lift, and 50 steps to our room, but hey that keeps you fit, but wouldnt be good if you had small children or elderly people in your party.

I've been a few times before and as this is being wrote I am still in the selomar. It's a great family friendly hotel. I would recommend this to any family that will want a weekend to spend having fun in Scarborough.

We had a lovely week's stay at the Selomar. It has a great location. The breakfasts were excellent and couldn't fault the service and staff. We had one of the top floor rooms which had fantastic views of the castle and coast.

What a great place to stay. Staff and owners very friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast plenty choice. Fantastic view from are room which was extremely clean and comfortable as was the En-suit. Would recommend to all. Will be going back to stay here.

Very welcoming owner's on arrival and room clean and tidy. The facilities are great, no complaints there and breakfast was spot on! Location wise the hotel is in a great spot overlooking the North shore and it's only 15 minutes walk to the main shopping area so ideal indeed! We would definitely recommend staying here and if we were to return then I wouldn't hesitate in booking again.

Just back home after a mini break at The Selomar. Irene and Ken are perfect hosts and their morning staff are the friendliest ever. Luscious breakfast (I could've eaten 2 every morning). Spotless room and hotel. My only moan is the shower in our room was not very good and very temperamental with the heat, the slightest touch sent the heat soaring. Apart from that we would return and tell others venturing to Scarborough. 10/10

Just spent a second weekend in this lovely hotel. Irene and Ken are lovely people and so are all the staff. Breakfasts are superb and you have a choice of cooked breakfast from a menu as well as cereals and fresh fruit and yogurt. Great location, great view and very clean and comfortable rooms. We are now looking forward to our third visit.

I really liked this hotel when I went with my Dad earlier 2015 it was one of my favourites.

We have just arrived home from a 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel, absolutely fantastic, friendly, clean and breakfast is 5* plus! The owners and staff can't do enough for you, we had an unexpected addition to our party last minute and it was no bother to them at all they were fantastic! I can't give enough praise to these people and they're lovely hotel by the sea, we will be back hopefully later this year if not definitely next year xxx.

We stayed at The Selomar bed and breakfast in Scarborough and couldn't be happier. Ken and Irene gave us a very warm welcome. We had a great seaview, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Thank you.

Wow we have just come back from the selomar hotel it was everything and more we could have wished for, we stayed for 2 nights in room 4 the views were breath taking! the room was very spacious with a lovely ensuite shower room, very clean and modern best nights sleep ive had in a long time, the breakfast was beauitful something for everyone, my only complaint it wasnt long enough! so we have just booked again for a week in sep see you soon ken and irene x.

We went for May bank holiday and couldn't have wished for a more pleasant hotel; staff were so gracious and thoroughly looked after us, the hotel location was ideal for everything, easy Wi Fi access. We were in room 11 — or the penthouse, as we called it! Stunning views. We'll be back, thanks again for making my birthday weekend, Irene and Ken! Jo and Paul.

We first met Irene and Ken in 2007 when we stayed in Brompton holiday flats with our 2 young children, the easy going nature of them, and the warmth of welcome etc, made us return to the flats for the next 2 years, each time a pleasant flat and a warm welcome. In 2010 we decided to try the Selomar Hotel, as it was also owned by Ken and Irene, we stopped in room 8 which had the most stunning sea view across the bay, was very clean, and perfectly adequate for the 4 of us. And we all enjoyed a hearty brekkie :) Skip forward 3 years, kids all grown up. Ring up Irene on a mission to get away to the sea! She happily books a night in room 4 for me and the wife to have an "US" moment :) On arrival, we were welcomed like old friends. And we settled in to the sea view with a brew, The refurbishment has made an already lovely hotel, even more pleasant and charming, Still clean and tidy, lovely comfy beds, soothing decor, amazing transformation of the bar/lounge, very classy. And we must add our voice to the many, the breakfast is still joyous :) plenty choice, well tasty, and belly filling, copious amounts of tea coffee and toast too. All in all, a genuine, good quality, well priced, guest house run by people who are passionate about what they do, and will go the extra mile to make people happy. We will be back again as soon as our pocket money will allow :) Hold room 4 Irene, some time in Spring.! Give our regards to Ken and Irene when you stay, Regards, John n Maggie.

Beautiful B&B — Me and my husband spent a long weekend at the Selomar Hotel. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the hosts Ken and Irene. Our, room was very clean and modern. Breakfast is served from 8:30am till 9:30am — there is lots of choice from fruit and yougarts to a full cooked breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. Overall, it was great value for money would certainly recommend.

I stayed at the The Selomar Hotel just recently and it was fantastic! Irene and Ken went out of their way to make us welcome. Highly recommended and will be back.

Fantasic hotel, The Selomar hotel is spotless and clean, very modern decor with luxurious bathrooms and very comfy beds. They serve the best breakfast ever! with a great choice and is served by very friendly staff. The icing on the cake is the most amazing views from this hotel as it sits at the top of the cliff overlooking the beautiful north bay. Overall top marks alround for quailty, facilities, service and location.
