We had booked to stay scatter my father's ashes and we gave them over 48 hours notice that one of our family had seen someone with COVID. It is no longer a requirement to self isolate if you have been in contact with someone with COVID yet Judith refused to move our booking, refused to let us stay and wouldn't give us a refund. This awful establishment is profiting from COVID and other people's misfortune. I hope no one books to go here. What a miserable woman. How unpleasant and perhaps if a close relative had died of COVID in your family and you were now forced to pay for something you might think twice. Your values are just to steal and take from others. I hope your business fails you nasty woman.

This lady is a disgrace. Refuses to change the date — honour the payment and original reservation or give a voucher and just steals the money. Shameful terrible behaviour. All hotels in this pandemic have given vouchers and been flexible on cancellations and refunds.

I loved my stay at The Sheldon, and only wish it was longer. Judith and her team looked after all my needs. Perfect room, with the best hot shower in years. Brilliant breakfast which set me up for hiking. Very friendly and full of advice too. Just a few minutes from the train station and just off the front, location is perfect too.

Absolute gem of a b & b really close to everything. The owners were so lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was absolutely massive with really high ceilings and a roll top bath, we felt very spoilt. My daughter loved the communal play room, such a bonus for families with young children. My only regret is that we stayed for just one night — would be ideal for a family seaside break. Thanks so much to the owners for putting so much effort in to all the details, you should be really proud!

We had a very pleasant stay at The Sheldon B&B in Eastbourne. The accommodation is very family friendly and our comfort family room was very spacious with lots of place for my little one to run around. Additionally, the beds and the bedding were super comfortable and our room had all the amenities I could ask for, including an iron and iron stand, a hair dryer, tea and coffee facility and lovely complimentary toiletries. The kids play room is lovely to keep kids busy while the adults enjoy reading a book or watching a movie. They also provide beach equipment that can be borrowed and baby sitting services and monitors are also available. Absolutely perfect for a family holiday in Eastbourne, with a very prime location!

We have just got back from a weekend stay at The Sheldon and couldn't fault it in any way. The owners are great. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection. Very clean and all you need in the rooms, which are spacious. Great location, the seafront, pier, restaurants, bars and shops are all within walking distance. The owners obviously care about their guests and their needs and take effort and pride in what they do. They offer facilities that other places don't. I would recommend this place to anyone and we would definately go back to this place.

Parking is not as advertised. Owner will try to tell you that every room has a car space. This is not the case, during Airborne when all rooms were full I was forced to park and walk long distances back to the Sheldon. Owners would not accept this, but count the rooms and count the spaces.

Very good B&B, I have mild autism, staff very friendly and helpful and understanding. Would highly recommend for single traveler, would recommend if you have very mild autism to, they even served breakfast early for me as I have difficulty with noise, my room was very quiet and clean, the staff made me feel safe and welcome, breakfast was good to, I had fresh coffee and orange juice, toast, beans sages and egg, could of had a tomatto to, but im not keen, also a chose of cerials, fruit and yoghurt, they have a fridge also in the dinning room, I could use to keep my drinks cold, the car park is great, parked my car all week, did not need to use it, as everything is in walking distance, shops, pier, beach, restaurants, places of intrest, life boat, cinima and Fort, I had a great time, went to some great shows to, all within walking distance, not forgetting the band stand to, Thank you :) 2nd visit 2018 and still would recommend.

Good location, not happy to pay as soon as I arrived without seeing my accommodation. Breakfast was good. Got email to make me aware of tennis tournament taking place, that happened the week before I arrived!

My wife and I stayed in room 21. The receptionist was friendly and explained the layout to us. The room was larger than one would find in many more modern hotels. The room was spotlessly clean and the decor was pleasant. The bed was large and comfortable. The Sheldon was almost full and most of the other guests were attending a tennis tournament. The breakfast next morning was also very good. Most people were, like us, were enjoying a full English breakfast although there was also a buffet with fruit, cereals and juices. We left our car in the Sheldon's private car park at the back of the hotel. The only disappointment for us was the rather insipid shower. The water pressure was so low it reminded me of the old fashioned electric showers that one had to put up with years ago. The Sheldon's location is just about perfect. It is within easy walking distance of all of Eastbourne's attractions and plenty of resturants. We liked it.

Unhappy with many aspects. Room was not clean from previous guests. Shower did not work properly. No hair dryer. Bed too soft. For nearly £90 per night unacceptable! Would never stay again. The breakfast was about all I found okay.

Absolutely perfect in every way! They think of everything — and more! Beautifully quiet, private parking, large comfortable room, gorgeous breakfast, lots of little extras. This will be first choice for future trips top Eastbourne.

Very nice hotel, close to see front, free parking and they also let you carry on parking after check out. Rooms were very comfortable, very comfortable beds. Breakfast had a nice selection of cereals and cooked breakfast. Even offer vegan and gluten free pancakes. So plenty to chose from. Have a lift to floors if you have a heavy bag which is handy. All over a good BnB.

The room nice and clean. However I was there for a marathon so needed a good night's sleep, but the thin windows let every sound from the outside in.

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night, lovely big room and an amazing comfortable sized bed, we go away regularly for little weekend breaks and it was nice to have pillows that your head sunk into imstead of like a brick! Perfect location for the seafront and town centre. Lovely breakfast and the owners very friendly. This will definately be out first choice later in the year!

When I needed to cancel, as was unwell it was not explained at the time of the booking the cancellation terms. I was told I did not give enough notice to cancel and payment was taken. The proprietor was patronizing and called me 'darling' you should look on our website! I did not appreciate this. I believe these proprietors are 'hungry for customer's money' and mercenary as can be seen from some reviews and they are probably struggling financially and do not care about customer satisfaction only what they can 'get out of customer's pockets! ' to the expense of losing what could have been returning customers. avoid this hotel. I have a good mind to contact consumer relations for the benefit of the doubt here! keep up your unscrupulous ways and see how it is beneficial for your business! liberty takers!

What a difference 12 months make, stayed here last year andl it could not have been much better. This year a completely different story. We arrived after a substantial journey, as we were a little early for check in, found somewhere for lunch and returned shortly after 3, only to find that they had cancelled our booking, despite my partner booking it direct at their request (presumably to avoid paying a booking fee). Conveniently no paper trace available due to a new diary system. No apology, no assistance to find alternative accommodation and a complete lack of interest. It will be a cold day in hell before we consider staying here again.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Car park was a great bonus as parking in Eastbourne can work out expensive if you stay for a few days. Room was very clean and spacious. Nice and convenient for shops and sea front. Would certainly book again.

2nd time staying at The Sheldon, we really liked the B&B the first time of staying a couple of years ago, so we were pleased to book for a weekend away, The Sheldon offers free parking for customers which is fantastic as it gives you an opportunity to explore the town without the added cost of paying for parking, On arrival we were greeted at the door by a chap who let us in, sadly he didn't welcome us to the B&B and we were a little confused as he didn't have anything identifying him as a member of staff, he signed us in and gave us our information pack, but I hate to complain… He was very quiet and didn't do much to make us feel welcome to his establishment, anyway we made our way to our room, it was really nice, clean and fairly well sized and had a view up the street, it featured a shower cubicle but no bath, this was fine with us, reading the information pack it gave instructions on how to use the shower due to it being "gravity fed" despite the instructions it was still a little tricky to get going, but once it was it was fine. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep, the only let down was that there are blinds in the room but no curtains, so alot of light came in upon sunrise, luckily we had the forethought to purchase eyemasks to get around this issue, also 2 out of 3 blinds could not be adjusted, and the main window was unable to be opened due to being sealed and painted shut, not a major problem as the two side windows were able to open.

Judith & Greg are very friendly people & make you feel at home. We loved the breakfast & had a full English every morning when we had planned not to.

Found a good pub in the Cornfield Garage which has the cheapest beer in town.

Overpriced for standard. Mediocre service, mediocre breakfast. Pathetic shower, inadequate heating. No star chain hotels in France offer a far better standard at a fraction of the cost!

We had a lovely 1 night stay at The Sheldon, the owners made us feel very welcome and they have a really nice hotel with the added bonus of free parking. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed and the bed very large and comfortable. Breakfast served speedily and was delicious, in our view if we had to score out of 10 it would be 10.
