Lovely Sunday Lunch Yesterday, great value for money, very tasty lovely staff and surroundings, will definitely be back.

Food was great, out door area is superb (esp wen its sunny 🌞🤣) staff were very attentive. Over all very nice place 😁

Well done the Tormaukin! wonderfully managed service. We sat outside and couldn't have felt more safe. Disposable glasses and food containers are necessary just now. Service was absolutely on point. Uncertain times so we booked in advance to try to help the restaurant plan.

Popped in for a cuppa had 2 lattes and 1 hot chocolate all came with a square of tablet. Ordered 2 scones which came served slightly warm with clothes cream and jam. All lovely. Had a seat beside the fire and the dogs were allowed in too. Will be back for a meal next time in the area.

We had a fabulous meal here at the weekend and were a party of 23. The food was served quickly and of a very high standard. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks to all staff there.

First time staying here and loved it! very friendly welcome from staff and easy check-in… the room was very spacious yet cosy feel with wooden logs replacing the fire and stone wall, also wooden beams on the ceiling… sitting having drinks before dinner infront of the fire was just what we both wanted! dinner was amazing! especially the smoked parsnip soup which I wasn’t sure about… the venison was cooked pefectly was made to feel welcome in the bar from the locals after dinner and had a brilliant night! the bed was very comfy and breakfast was top notch too… all in all a fantastic stay and will defo be back! well done guys ⭐️

A lovely bank holiday lunch including a delicious platter of continental meats, cheeses, olives and yummy bread. Always great to visit somewhere that welcomes the dog enthusiastically as well, with a fresh bowl of water and some biscuits.

We hadn’t been to The Tormaukin for years but after reading recent reviews of the new ownership we booked for a family meal. Service and good was excellent, really friendly staff and a nice menu with mixture of pub grub and specials. Will definitely be back.

It was nice. The gin was superb served in a beautiful glass. The staff could have been a little more enthusiastic and attentive. I asked for water at the table but it never came. Had to ask twice for another gin! Felt there wasn’t a lot of atmosphere either. Not like the old days. But the food was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Food and coffee excellent. Room more then adequate, bed a little soft for our liking. All in all a very enjoyable night away.

My wife and I have now stayed at the Tormaukin Hotel 3 times. We have found it ideally located for us — we have friends living near Stirling — but more importantly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are warm, friendly and provide great service, and the food is of an excellent standard. We love that whilst it is close enough to Stirling, it is still out in the countryside. Finally, we have always found it great value for money. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Lunch today. Menu had a prices for 1, 2 and 3 courses. Two people in our party requested a starter as a main course. It came out as a small starter size but we were still charged nearly £15 each. The service was slow even though it did not look busy. Overpriced for what it was. Have just contacted the manager who was very appreciative of the feedback, apologized and has offered to make good at our next visit.

Great food as always here. Home cooked, honest grub served in a beautiful location. The Tormaukin has managed to retain all its "Oldie Worldly" charm — being it a historical coach house without being overly claustrophobic or dingy. Gorgeous to visit at any time of the year. In winter there's a roaring fire on for cosy suppers and in summer months you can sit in the conservatory for a bite of lunch. Brilliant!

Rustic but modern rooms are good lodges are beautiful food is good menu varies suit most pallets altogether a hidden treasure staff are amazing.

A cute, typically Scottish hotel — with excellent cuisine! I can only recommend it to anyone… just delicious! The rooms are cozy and clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Thumbs up.

The best and ideal hotel if you want to sleep anywhere but not your room. We had room 7, which is in front of room 8 and these rooms has a main door apart from their desperate door. When we came at night to enter our room we found the main door closed, thus no access to our room. During the night there are no staff at the hotel so we had to sleep outside in our car. I also tried to contact the hotel by phone but not responsive. To make matters worse no compensation was given.

Stayed here the night. Homely feeling to this hotel and staff was very welcoming. If you are in the area and want somewhere to stay then let your hair down and chill.

Busy on mother's day which is good. Food was good, desserts were very good, ice cream was lovely. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice place to be.

Location beats everything else about this place. Small restaurant in the hotel only for housed guests. They don't take walk-ins at the restaurant. Was a good visit.

Sorry but Google's sixth start isn't working. Dog and family friendly. Quality food, service and environment. :) Also the walk between glen dollar and Devon is sublime.

Have only ever visited for meals. Very friendly and accommodating staff in a relaxed and comfortable, country hotel. The meals are excellent and reasonably priced with a well stocked bar.

From the minute you walk through the door untill it's time to leave, I just find this place so relaxing. Great service, friendly staff and great food what else is there to ask for. Definitely 5 star in my book.

We booked lunch for 17 after a day in the hills. The staff were fantastic; efficient, polite and accommodated the ever growing number of dinners. The food and drink was also spot on and we will definitely return.

Was on an organised event. Tormaukin Hotel laid on the buffet lunch… excellent. The hotel made Scotch Eggs were the best I've had (had to take one away with me! )

The hidden gem I would say. Warm and friendly staffs, very good food, & immaculate rooms. Our short family break was indeed lovely and worth to remember.

Stopped into the Tormaukin hotel for lunch on the way home. The service was excellent and friendly and the food was pretty good.

Perfect rural setting. A lovely country feel and exceptional food.

Everything about the Tormaukin Inn was excellent, on arrival reception noticed we were tired after a 300 mile drive and said please check in after you've been watered! We were served very quickly and went to sit down, the Manager Rob advised us the table was taken and offered to open up the lounge so I could watch the Football and eat at the same time, we accepted this generous offer and not only was the Liverpool result a good one so was the Food and Wine. The room was exceptionally clean and well decorated, shower and bathroom immaculate. Breakfast this morning was as good as the night before and I wish I had opted for the Mans portion not the small portion, the Black Pudding and Haggis, best I have ever had, poached egg done to perfection.
When we next return to Scotland this will be our stopping off point despite it being 25 miles off route, I would recommend this Hotel / Inn to anyone, Business, Leisure, Holiday, Individual, Family, Friends.
The staff are exceptionally well trained and go the extra mile for you.

This is a jewel of a place that is being so under appreciated! The staff are so lovely, warm and friendly. The cleaning staff in particular really deserve a mention, as they where so brilliant to us in particular and so very accommodating. It is therefore such a shame that this place doesn't warrant or get any more than 3 out of 5. We reported several faults to the staff, but could have listed so many more! The bathroom fan had not worked for some time, the shower head was split and water was shooting out everywhere, the cold water tap was unbelievable, you had to turn it on so many times before you got any water out and then it blasted out and you had to turn it back quick before you got soaked. The stains above the bathroom door and the marks on the heater, just went to show how this place needs a refurb and attention paying to it! Breakfast was ok, the selection was pretty good, it just didn't live up to expectations, only on the last day did we actually get a poached egg that wasn't solid. If you are a walker, back packer or just passing through, it is a nice stay and quite well located for Gleneagles, Stirling and the surrounding area, if you are thinking for more that 1 or 2 nights, maybe think again. Oh by the way we had no moblie signal or Wi-Fi in our room and limited in the bar, some might see this as a plus to hide away, others this might annoy in this day and age.

Staff were very accommodating and the room was clean and had all amenities. Wi-Fi was available but signal was poor, although that's to be expected in such a remote location. We didn't have time to go out for walks as we were attending a wedding nearby. Taxi service was difficult/expensive so we ended up driving. The breakfast was included in the price of the room, it was delicious!

Everything I asked for they came back to tell me they didn't have so I had to pick something else, a bit frustrating as it was the weekend before valentine's day, so would expect them to have plenty food and drinks in.

Food was good. Very small portion for starter but the main was more reasonable. The time taken for service was pretty poor as we were waiting quite a while for desserts. One staff member in particular was terrible. I don't know if he was new or just couldn't be bothered but when asked what the sorbet selection was our waiter just said "I don't know". We then had to ask him to go check what sorbets there was. Then on return we asked him to elaborate on how many scoops you would get and he said "2 or 3". Well, is it one or the other, as this will affect the choice of flavours. All in all, food was good but service is lacking.

I was here for drinks and lunch after a walk. Very friendly and helpful service, well kept ales and good quality food. I plan to go back.

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough, lovely old building and really fantastic food but it's the staff who make the Tormaukin Inn truly exceptional. Special mention for Logan who went out of her way to make my Brother and (new) Sister-in-law's wedding weekend wonderful. From preparing our private dining room/lounge to serving our amazing meals, she never stopped smiling & always found time to pet the dogs while still making sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was happy (we certainly were). If you're thinking of a holiday with your canine friends then this is the place to go, they are made so welcome (the people are too! ), especially by the younger members of staff. Lunches and Dinners were first rate, everything so well sourced, prepared and served. The Swordfish and Queen Scallops I had on the Friday night was easily the best meal I've ever had, though the ribeye Saturday was perfect too. The chef even prepared a full vegan menu for my niece. Breakfasts were good, as good as most other hotels I've stayed at, but not outstanding like the rest of the meals, they were let down by slightly overcooked eggs and slow refills of coffee pots and juice jugs. Lovely walking straight from the hotel door, but be warned it is in a valley so you have a hill to climb in every direction :-)

Been several times over the years, most recently with the family for the family fireworks night last Saturday night, 5th November. Wonderful food and service, as always, and the fireworks were an amazing end to the evening, plus my daughter enjoyed getter her face painted! My only concern was how cold the restaurant was! So much so, we saw other diners eating with their jackets, scarfs etc on! I noticed no heating was on, the toilets were especially cold and for it being November, I'd have thought the heating would be on — so not sure there was maybe a problem that night?

The drinks, food and accommodation were excellent but some problems connecting with Wi-Fi was a nuisance.

We had a great overnight stay the room was huge and had everything you need. The bathroom was clean and the water was nice and warm. The bed was comfy although the road outside was loud with passing bikers (not much the hotel can do about this tbh) The staff were friendly and the breakfast was well presented with a good selection. The fact it is dog friendly and the Glen Dover reservoir walk is close by is a big plus. I'd definitely stay again.

The Tormaukin has new owners since July 2010 and the standards have soared. Chef Alan Halkett got a super review in Scottish Field recently, so we felt we had to visit and the menu was indeed excellent and portion sizes were great value for money. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel has both a child-friendly and dog-friendly policy. The rooms have been recently refurbished and there is a super new dining room that has just been refurbished with a very unique fireplace. The hotel is very well placed for visiting the Eaglesgate Retail Village (Baxters, Highland Spring, etc. ), Gleneagles, Perth and Stirling. Couldn't have asked for better.
