The setting for this lovely home is spectacular. Secluded, beautiful, very quiet on a pretty side street. The Tower Apartment was very nice, but the heat provided was inadequate. The owners were ungracious when I shared this feedback. Be sure not to wear shoes you care about; the pebbles of the gravel drive ruined my shoes. I was “requested” to use the service entrance for my comings and goings; it was evident that I was not welcome to use the front door. A bit off-putting to say the least. Also, the key and lock to the outside door are awkward and difficult. The owners might consider just installing a new deadbolt with a modern key. In all, although the place itself was lovely, I did not enjoy my stay because my feedback was so unwelcome as to result in an unpleasant exchange with the owners that resulted in being asked to leave. This was a knee jerk reaction on their part that caused me to have to apologize (! ) in order to be able to stay out my visit… my plans would have been disrupted by such a move. Some B&B owners appear to resent having visitors in their home… perhaps the reality of running such an establishment is not fully comprehended when the prospect of buying and getting to live in a fine manor house or mansion is then made inconvenient when guests start arriving.
Really nice place and the owners was very friendly.

The Acer View is a very "quaint wee summer cottage" as described by one of the owners… As B&Be go, and I only have American to go by, they are the best… the accomodations, the common room and grounds are immaculate… the owners are very friendly and go out of their way, within reason of course, to make their guests comfortable and happy. Breakfast was amazing. From coffee/tea to scones everything was perfect… fresh fruit on the table, fresh jams for toast, muffin or scones… I had the porridge (served with warm milk, honey and black berries), scrambled eggs (free range), sausage (cooked to perfection and potato scones made an filling and tasty meal. Coffee was served in a French press and was perfect… they have a single malt s it h in the common room (Glen Moray) that has a very smokey initial taste with an extremely smooth finish. An "honesty box" is provided to offset the cost. A very nice warming experience. as an American visiting Scotland for the first time, I highly recommend making reservations for your first days in country if you visit the Glasgow area…
