Where to start. If you want a clean cheap place this hotel is fine. However don't expect a good powerful shower or a good night sleep. There appears to be no water pressure hence having a shower but not feeling clean. The bed OMG floor would have been better the mattress was horrendous springs popped up and dug into you. However we learnt that sleeping the opposite way round was more bearable but not much. It appears to be a well worn out and tired hotel in need of a refurbishment… Plus points. Staff are friendly. Wi-Fi great and plenty of parking. I guess you get what you pay for nowadays. Sorry I would not stay there again and would not recommend.

No soap was provided. No tooth paste. Toiletries word doesn't exist at the hotel. Wasn't clean at all. The bed was so cheap and they don't give you room keys not even 5 minutes before the check in time (check in time is 2pm), but they want you to leave at 10am sharp otherwise they charge 10 pounds extra.

Good location, the resturant was being refurbished, but staff friendly and helpful.

Will defo stay again easy to find and room was great loved the shower staff really helpful.

Nothing like pictures very basic. Cheap and nasty. Bed linen clean. The only plus. No food available no phone in room in case of emergency. Ok in an emergency I suppose. Or for the homeless. And ladies of the night. Avoid at all costs if u can.

Fantastic hotel my 3rd metros Inn was very impressed very subtle refurbishments to Travelodge rooms made it feel a lot more cosy. Definitely a big improvement on Newcastle and Teesside :)

Well I'm here at a 30th birthday party which started at 7.30 and by 9 o clock the bar was almost dry. After one bottle of desperados we couldnt buy mote as sold out. They had no none alcolholic drinks at all, for those who drive and no soft drinks only fizzy drinks. No we didnt drink it dry, the manager failed to make sure there was sufficient drinks for sale. He then failed in his duties to try and rectify the disaster as he was going on holiday. This party was booked months in advance. Wouldn't come here again if they paid me. The function room is like being in an icebox, it's that cold. So if you want a party, then book elsewhere. From a very disappointed guest. Eileen.

Disgustingly rude and intimidating staff, no breakfast, no cutlery, no tea, noisy barking dogs all night, uncomfortable beds, rooms desperately need updating. Avoid at all costs.

Cannot give a star rating for this place as no minus button. My guests were treated so badly by abusive intimidating rude staff. No food no cups of tea no cutlery no crockery not even a bottle of water. And now no answer on the fone iether. DON'T go there a bad mistake that I will never do again. I can only apologise to my guests who had the misfortune of visiting the hotel from hell. Forced to give one star to be able to post review.

I know it's a budget hotel but I would still expect a bed without springs poking in your back all night. Pillows like sleeping on slabs. Bathroom in need of refurbishment, paint coming off bath when using it and chunk missing out of toulet bowl. Breakfast unorganised and not very good at all. Only good thing was the price. Will not be using this hotel again.

Reasonable price, very good for overnight halt. Not much to do in the hotel though. Sufficient parking available.

Location is good, close to Walsall Town Centre, and within a couple of miles of junctions 9 and 10 of the M6. Rooms are as you would expect for the price, reasonably comfortable, the bed could be a little better, especially with my back. The staff were fine, and met my needs adequately.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. But reception were very helpful after a room mix up. Would recommend as a cheap place to stay for a night.

On arrival, I was accidentally charged TWICE for my room (in person and they took the same amount using my bank details I’d left for a deposit without my permission or informing me after telling me we pay on arrival so watch out) then as we were on our way up to our room, the lady when we checked in forgot to mention the hotel had no running water, there were workers and towels everywhere, wires exposed, equipment just in the hallway ready to trip over etc. We went back down and asked what had happened and she explained (laughing whilst doing it) that a water pipe had burst and it’ll “probably be 2 hours maybe more” until we had running water again. We immediately decided to ask for a refund for the room and left. Disgusting place, smokers right by the door so the whole ground floor smelt of smoke, the rooms are small, the bathroom was dirty and the whole room smelt of cheap air freshener, no working TV or TV remote… The staff were all useless apart from the lady who sorted the refunds after being charged twice for the room in error and I only noticed this that night, so after numerous phone calls and having to email my bank statement over to them to prove I’d been charged (for some reason they can’t tell if they’re £144 up) I REALLY wouldn’t recommend to anyone with any self decency. We changed to a travel lodge and are more than happy. The place needs doing up or knocking down.

Staff really really rude… rooms about what you would expect for the price, but staff take rude to a whole new level… will be contacting head office first thing. Really really upset.

A disgusting "hotel" I've stayed 3 times unfortunately, its very cheap, & that's it, the rooms are grubby & tired, the beds are so uncomfortable, I dread to think what state the mattress's are in, service was the worst thing, evening staff are rude, not bothered, wearing tracksuits, sat outside smoking cannabis & drinking, but when customers ask for a drink "the bar is closed" this is at 10.45 at night but the staff and their "lady friends" are outside on the tables boozing, the day staff receptionist is just plain stupid and cant be bothered, such a horrendous place. Don't even waste £40 because even that is not worth it!

Room was clean and comfortable. TV needs repairing/replacing as the sound went from very loud to almost silent. Little bit disappointed that the restaurant/bar was closed on a Saturday night and had to get in the car to visit the nearest pub/eatery.

Shabby and expensive. It seems they subsidise their income by screwing you with the parking — I was told by the bar staff I didn't need to validate parking, but No! a week later a Parking Charge Notice for £100 drops through the letter box. Its a thieving con, drop in for a drink with some friends (which was expensive), get stung for parking in a shabby hotel car park! Avoid this place.

Good price. If you’re looking for a hotel that won’t make you part with too much of your cash, this one is a good bet. The nightly rates are low, additional value comes in the form of free Wi-Fi and parking. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Small good hotel for short stay. You get rooms for 35-40 £. They have good lobby and dining place. No breakfast is served. Rooms have heater (not all rooms), TV (some have flat screen), fridge (some rooms Have) and some rooms have bath tub. The staff are friendly and helpful. They don't have cloth washing facilities. Near bus stand for good connectivity.

Seedy red velvet, broken light bulbs, peeling paint. Think 'Hostel' and you won't be disappointed.

Pros… Great room. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Ample parking and on frequent bus route to birmingham. Excellent Wi-Fi. There's modems everywhere so super strong signal. Cons. Could do with blackout curtains. Also, in 2016 I'd now expect a flat screen TV. Was an old box type. Portable too. Maybe 16inches max. And kept retuning while I tried to watch anything. Could only shower not bath as the nob to change taps from shower to tap was broken. Would stay again but in different room (for bath) and only once tvs have been upgraded.

The hotel is clearly an old building. But this wasn't my issue. We got into our room, just about to settle in when my partner went to have a shower. There was mould up the walls. Went to complain and the man on the desk was extremely rude and wouldn't listen to what we were saying. We left and we are currently waiting for a refund, however, everytime we call up, the manager is not in that day… apparently. would not recommend to say the least!

Friendly staff, nice rooms though there were a few problems, non working light and trouble working the tv.

Went to visit metro inns hotel in Walsall. Went to use the facilities as a non resident to Their B. J's barr. Parked my vehicle, as their is a large sign on their premises which states it's open to non residents. Three weeks later I had a fine which was £60 if paid within two weeks or £100 if after. Spoke to a member of their staff that was called paul, he said that their are signs everywhere which states the details of parking, This was pitch black at the time and non visible. The writing was also not readable. Was also situated above 7ft and not eye level. And these signs were not everywhere. He didn't take note of the fact I used their facilities and told me to ring the parking company. They gave me a number starting with a 0870, which is a very high call cost rate number which may even cost more than £1 a min. Their was no email given. This is their way of profiteering from parking and it is criminal. I will Waite for them to pass this matter to their debt collection company and then counterclaim if pursued in a small claims court. Well done metro inns! and I think due to the reputation you will one day close and set up tomorrow under a different name. You are not customer focused and people be aware that you may also be a victim of their parking scams! If they do get five star reviews they may and only may have paid people to do it or it's the people that work in their organisation. Do your research first!

Rooms were disgusting. Me and my other half had a early morning check in and the receptionist looked half asleep and didn't explain about the parking information. 4 weeks later, I receive a parking charge notice because I parked at the customers car park and now I had to deal with a private company! Absolutely disgusting! I wouldn't even recommend this place to a homeless person, it's that bad!

Customer service is terrible not helpful at all.

Excellent in terms of value, good restaurant downstairs to spend your time with. It was a love at first impression!

It was turnt but the Wi-Fi let me down. I couldn't snapchat the bad service that was provided to me.

Stayed before Christmas as a base to deliver presents! The staff were ever so kind and attentive! I had booked a disabled room and it was just perfect! 5 stars!

The price was perfect hotel was very clean and tidy felt relaxed will defently stay again.

Stayed in room 212, just for half a night everything is lovely except for the bathroom. Around the bath was all brown like the filler needed re-doing thats the only fault I seen other than that, I enjoyed my stay here I will deffo be coming back.
