I booked this in replacement of Premier Inn as they were fully booked. I had low to no expectations (business trip) and when I arrived, I was completely taken aback. POSITIVESThe site is surrounded by lush greenery and during the night, it's incredibly peaceful. The room was delightfully spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower was amazingly powerful (even more so than Premier Inns shower including other leading hotel chains! ). NEGATIVESThe bed was a single bed and the TV was slightly too small. Alas, I wasn't spending my two nights in the room so it wasn't much of a bother. The food provided wasn't exactly "gourmet" and I didn't get to try the breakfast due to schedules but it was stopped serving at 9.30am. Lastly, checkout time is at 9.30am, rather than your usual 10.30am. All in all, I was genuinely surprised and pleased with the experience, given that I had booked it last minute and had little to no expectations. Would recommend if you're looking for a short countryside break or business trip for 1-3 days max.

Squash courts are great, don't bother on Wednesdays, it's club night, £8.25 for 45 minutes. Watching areas for all courts. Changing rooms, showers fully available. Must pre book in advance and must sign up to be a member. Could be useful havimg a priority lane for people just collecting squash tokens at reception.

Lovely venue and beautifully decorated for the wedding.

Had a good time at a wedding reception with some close friends. Parking was easy and free and the main house and grounds were a delight to hang out in. The main room for food, entertainment, the disco and bar were well catered and staffed so a great night was had by all. There is accommodation on site, in addition there is a Travelodge within a two mile drive.

Went for a wedding viewing. The grounds were stunning but the rooms were slightly disappointing. They are getting renovation work though which looks good.

Stunning place, excellent service, room was spot on and ask for anything better than that. Can't wait to go again.

Former 19th century Duke of Sutherland hunting lodge, converted into a national sports centre of excellence. The site used to be the FA's training centre, and played host to most of the England football teams in the 1980's and 1990's. The centre has also hosted the national centre's for gymnastics, archery and is currently a sports rehabilitation centre with an international reputation.

Beautiful place! my only fault finding was we expected healthier food as it's a sports center.

Great facilities, and lovely weather once every four years on average. Delightful archery venue. 10/10.

I stay here twice a year for a Martial Arts Awards evening. Thoroughly recommend it. Service is great, rooms are excellent and food is top notch.

I enjoyed the facilities here — awesome place for a conference. Although eating here is a little bland… so maybe a drive into town for that. Plenty of parking and very friendly team waiting to serve you.

The improvements that have been made here really lift both the image and aesthetics of the area. Situated in the rolling countryside of Shropshire, this large estate is targeted at sports people for use of its excellent sporting facilities and to tourists visiting a beautiful part of England. Recent upgrades have added new buildings and improved residential accommodation. Whilst the changes to the bar and reception have modernised a previously tired part of the complex. The estate just needs a nightclub (joking) to realise its full potential.

Very healthy food choices and helpful staff. Basic rooms but of a good quality.

Staff on reception were a little snappy… However the chaps on the bar and snack foods in reception 10 out 10.

Great location and facilities. Plenty of food supplied for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff are super helpful and neatly dressed. We will definately be back for our next conference.

Great facilities for sports. The bar and cafe need organising. It felt like may be the staff wete new or part time. Lots of queue' s. May be they should provide stools to line up with. I felt sorry for the very few staff that were trying to keep it going. 100% thrown in at the deep end. Prices very reasonable for drinks. But then we are used to London prices may be.

Worst weekend of the year for the weather yet the staff were all excellent keeping us warm, safe and fueled up with a fantastic food and drink service, despite the blizzard outside.

My son had an amazing time at the Gymnastics Sport Camp. He was well looked after and received good coaching. Just being in that environment really boosted his confidence in training. If he gets the opportunity again he said he would definitely go back there… even in the snow!

The facility and grounds are nice and the staff is great. We came for the national jump rope championships and were very pleased with the venue. We also watched the FA Cup final in the bar on the projector screen at the suggestion of the lady at the front desk.

Incredible gymnastics facilities. The rest of the sports facilities are breath taking also. Food and drinks are available onsite also. A venue well worth visiting and training at if you can.

Took part in a weekend residential badminton coaching and the venue couldn't be any better! Lovely location, stunning buildings, great facilities and friendly staff! It is also opened to public and not necessarily just for sporty folks. I had a wonderful weekend and would love to come back again.

Brilliant training facility, lovely staff and lovely food.

Great place! Came here just to take a look around, and it was so great because we could just go everywhere. Everybody was very kind to me. I saw a lot of the different halls, and even watched and met an athlete!
