We came for food last weekend and was served by the fab Ryan. Food was amazing! Service was fab and we came away full and very happy! We’ll be back 👍👍

We are currently saying here — what they do not warn you is that the guest bedrooms are right above where they have a disco with significantly loud music that is shaking the room! Absolutely unbelievable — it's not discreet or even warned about when booking or checking in. I would suggest this place needs shutting down!

Had a lovely Christmas Dinner here today! all the food was so nice and the staff were so welcoming and helpful with our 10 month old twins. Nothing was too much trouble. We all left with full tummy and all of us super happy! would highly recommend to anyone, love this place! x.

5 ladies that needed a good Xmas night out which we got but not because of the service or food. Menus and meals were chucked on the table staff I knew busy but so impatient so rude.
Food not the best but was edible and a cocktail that tasted like strepsils sent back but gladly replaced.
We have been going here for years but last time for me.
We spent a lot lastnight left a good tip too. Shame really.

We decided to treat ourselves to a meal out this afternoon and decided on The Malthouse while we were in Ironbridge, and we're very glad we did! Lovely service, very welcoming to our puppy, and a gorgeous steak that was cooked to perfection, highly recommended and we will certainly be back!

Yet another fab Sunday lunch… cant recommend enough.

Love this pub/restaurant/hotel. Always received a very warm welcome! The food is delicious with lots of choice, beautiful building with views of the river. Guilty pleasure… fish finger sandwich! But a menu full of great choices!

Just wanted to say thank you malthouse for a lovely weekend we stayed Friday and Saturday. Lovely place. Very friendly reception from all your staff, food was excellent and breakfast was too. We went for Christmas Day it was a shambles and the service was absolutely rubbish! We paid £70 per head for an over priced Sunday Roast for our very special Christmas Day, which I left in tears. The ambiance was zero, the staff uninterested and no decorations, no Christmas Spirit. No front of house, waiters and waitresses just ignored people. The place was a total shambles! I would never recommend this place. It was my first and last visit. I will be asking for a full refund and an explanation as to why the CHEF thought that they could get away with servicing food that looked dumped! On a plate. I don’t even give this place a single star!

Just so I'm clear the service was absolutely fine and there's not an option here for a mid star rating. We had the tapas menu and some of the starters just for snacking and chatting type food. The pork bon bons were fab to be honest! However, the halloumi fries were def aldi bought in ones, come on guys when your charging £4 for one plate I want house made. Also, the blue cheese fries at £5, small metal tin of bought frozen fries with a smattering of shropshire blue seriously over priced or under plated. A highly anticipated meal just let down by cutting corners. Not tough fixes and it could be so much better.

Would never recommend The Malthouse ever again … very very rude bar staff. One girl in particular… very rude and obnoxious… she said we had drinks when we never received them. When we complained she straight away go the door bouncer over to Chuck us out … now if we had had the drinks then we wouldn’t of questioned the bill. But we didn’t receive them. Did get money back and it was chucked at us in away that was very rude and very unprofessional… I myself work in the hospitality trade and I normally recommend The Malthouse to my guests for a meal or drinks … but from my shocking experience in the weekend I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again … I’m sure not everyone had had this experience I understand that but just wanted to air my experience… if u could give it minus 5 stars I would …

The food and staff were excellent one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten we stayed in their turquoise room not the best to be honest had problems with the electric sockets and decor a bit quirky but to be fair the staff sorted the problem quickly they are a credit to that establishment and the service and food was excellent.

The night life in Ironbridge is definitely here! good crowd of mixed age groups. I've seen folk in there 70s having a good dance here, nice to see people making a effort to look classy! Good music from live bands gets everyone moving, even the shy types. Can get very very busy and so its very warm inside. Outside its smoking area which can also get very busy! not all smoker's outside a good mix outside chatting and enjoying the music in the cool evening fresh air. Staff are very polite. Also grab yourself a bite to eat in the restaurant and walk through the door and your in the bar area where live music will get you in the groove. Definitely worth going on a Saturday night at 10 pm.

Went out with some friends bank holiday Sunday and was really impressed with the quality of the real ale, also lovely surprise to see a fantastic band. A great night.

Good food and friendly staff. We popped in the morning for breakfast. Given that there was a big group already there we were told there would be a wait for food. But the food came fast and was lovely. They were clearly short staffed but did the best they could.

Beautiful pub. Very good service. Lunchtime menu great and well priced. Staff very friendly. Nice outside seating and car park at the front.

The food has always been nice here. It can sometimes be hit and miss with service perhaps depending on how busy it is. But all round a great place that I will return to. Ironbridge is a great part of the outskirts of Telford with a lot of history, views and things to do.

Based on our meals today I would not return here. After waiting a lengthy 30 minutes for pretty easy straightforward meals, what we received was far from acceptable. Myself and my friend ordered the salmon salad, the salmon was probably the best thing on the plate and thats mainly because there was a reasonable portion. However, there were no potatoes (as per the menu) and the measly five green beans that were mixed in there were rotten on the ends. Worse than average.

Lovely place to visit. Hotel rooms and and a restuarant. A pub with live bands most nights. All of this rolled into one! Plus large area out front to take your drinks. Plus onsite parking. Plus across the road there is a river which is beautiful in the summer.

Love this place. Had my hen in the VIP area. Always a good night out. Great atmosphere, Bouncer did kick us out once though. Seriously all we were doing were having a quiet drink on the seats outside. (4 of us. 2 couples), Bit of a jobsworth said he recognised my fella who was trouble but there's no way he knew my fella. But great place, great bands, great staff apart from the jobsworth bouncer. Kind of spoilt a nice quiet night out. (bouncer Also said he's bar manager)

The Malthouse is the best place to stay if you're visiting Ironbridge, and one of the best pubs. The rooms are very chic and comfortable, the bar is popular, roomy and has regular live music. Whats more, the breakfast service is excellent, with really well cooked food that hits the spot after a night out. Check this place out!

I love this place. Has live music at the weekends. Decor has changed and is more contemporary. Food is good too. In the centre of Ironbridge. Win win really.

Very poor cleaning of the room. We moved a chair to find an Ann Summers empty box of a lucid sort; my partner went to clean his teeth in the bathroom and noticed either sick or faeces down the side of the toilet. We complained to reception and was told the room would be totally cleaned; it wasn't. My partner had to clean the bath out as it was marked, the bathroom was still not great. Also our cups/ glasses weren't changed as we expected them to be.

Myself a 6 others were out to celebrate my sister's 24th birthday on a Saturday evening in February, two people in our party were under 21. We had no problem at any other establishment in Iron Bridge, however, the bouncers at the Malthouse would not let two members of our party in due to them being under 21. We found this strange as there is no trace of this policy on there website, social media or past reviews. I later called up the Malthouse and the lady that answered wasn't sure about the 21+ policy (you don't know about you'd own workplaces age policy? ) ; she passed me on to the manager who said the policy was due to alcohol licensing! I'd love to know what licensing law that is! Looks like they pick and choose who let in. If this is a genuine policy then they need it in their website / social media.

We booked a suite and we weren’t disappointed. Clean and quirky. Comfy bed. Lovely bathroom. Big TV. Tea and coffee with plenty of milk and chocolate and digestive biscuits. Huge Bath Lovely steak supper, cheese sauce was amazing, chips and fillet steak were cooked perfectly and probably the best churros we have ever had, I could have licked the plate Drinks are great, big selection of gin! Live music was awesome! Thank you for a lovely stay. If I could offer 1 suggestion it would be a plug socket near a mirror to do hair and slightly better lighting by a mirror to do make up. We stayed in the Gold Suite ❤️

Came to The Malthouse for a birthday party. We decided to stay here having seen the photos of the funky rooms on the Internet and thinking it would be somewhere different and interesting to stay. I have to we were both left feeling somewhat disappointed when we got to our room. Yes it was funky and bright but the finish leaves a lot to be desired. The locks on the doors are quite tricky to use. The cable for the kettle didn't reach the socket so we had to boil it on the floor. The back of the door had a hole in it. The bathroom was rather grotty and in desperate need for renovation. The room was clean apart from a few cobwebs. The bar itself has a nice decor and atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and the buffet food was tasty. The full English breakfast in the morning was fantastic with good quality produce and unlimited tea/coffee. The Malthouse is in a great location with fantastic views of the river and the cooling towers. The car park is small but additional parking is available at The Swan just down the road. Unfortunately the place is let down by the quality of the standard of the rooms. It's a boutique hotel on a budget. Would I stay again? Maybe it it's just for one night, the breakfast was that good.

Easy to find simply drive next to the Severn river on the way to the historical Iron Bridge. Great selection of drinks and food, plenty of outside seating.

A welcome retreat from the snow and cold. The staff were very friendly, attentive and obviously enjoy their job. We had the 3 for £10 mini dishes each. Do nor be fooled by the term mini. They were very generous portions and full of flavour. We will definitely be going back to enjoy hospitality and food but with a larger appetite.

Love the Malthouse. Always visit when my Sister's over from Ireland. A bit different and always great food and service.

We stayed in the garden room in a building next to the malt house. Lovely modern clean room. Swanky bathroom. Door leads to large private garden. Apparently they are installing a hot tub next year! Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Had an evening meal here yesterday evening with my better half. They was fully booked, but after speaking to the Landlady/Manager in the afternoon over a quick pint, she managed to accommodate us & we had a table ready for the both of us at 8pm. Service was very good & friendly. The food was brilliant. We both had steak & the portions was a good size. And New York cheesecake was morish! We stayed next door at The Swan Taphouse, the sister pub, but I’d also recommend staying here also. They have bands every Friday & Saturday night in a separate room, so it doesn’t disturb the restaurant. Thank you again. And we will certainly be back.

Parking is a nightmare. When booking the room the advert advising there is parking. This is not always true! There is no designated parking space and when I asked at reception I was told I could park at a public car park up the road but would have to pay! This car park was also a 'short stay car park'. Our room wasn't clean. Lots of spiders and cobwebs. Our flush didn't work in our bathroom as when asked they were fully aware of this but 'couldnt get anyone out until next week'. The bathroom we had was very grotty. The filler around the bath and tiles are brown/black with dirt. Our TV didn't work properly and there is also a hole in the back of the bedroom door. Apart from these few issues the village is stunning and there's plenty of live bands etc on an evening. The food was also superb. Unfortunately this isn't a place we will be coming back to in a hurry.

Ruined a wedding reception… They tried to wash their hands and pass the blame on a manager who coincidently left the night before. They were supposed to close the pub off for several hours while the reception took place and offer parking for guests. Yet when arrived, the place was packed and the car park was full with no reserve spaces. Hotel guests were forced to use the “pay and display car park”. Many wedding trinkets for the tables were missing. Part of the plan was to serve hot food yet this didn’t appear until it was complained about. The manageress is a very rude person.

Good good selection available, rather long wait for 2 sandwiches to arrive though : (probably down to time of day as all other customers who arrived after us had their meals delivered straight after. Not a major gripe as the sun was out :)

Great lunch and friendly staff. Its located next to the river so the scenery is good too.

Accommodation was fantastic. Quirkily decorated rooms, very clean. Restaurant however had very poor service, with no wine list, offers of dessert or any checks on the food. One meal was inedible. People who ordered the same dishes were obliged to move next to each other as the meals came on the same slate! Manager was apologetic though.

Super place to sit outside and enjoy a cool beer on the company of friends. A good spot for watching the world go by and the fresh air blowing across from the woodlands and river, wonderful!

A very popular pub/bar in Ironbridge on the river front. Ideal for a summers day out or a night out. The venue is pretty big with outdoor seating and plenty inside too. Prices are competitive with plenty of selection from beers to ales and spirits. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Small local pub that offers live entertainment on Saturday nights. Inside can get very busy but there is an outside seating area to grab some fresh air. There is a separate indoor restaurant area too. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. Age group was 25 up.

Some nice beers but I had a pint that was off. Replaced it no problem. Floor is a bit sticky in the bar but food is OK and they do live music which is often very good.

Visited on a quiet Sunday evening, and only because the White Hart had 'run out of food'. Decor is interesting (! ) but more faded nightclub or bordello than restaurant. Service was efficient and quite friendly. Food was poor. Fairly basic pub menu. Batter on fish goujons was unbelievably greasy. Burger was OK, salad accompaniment was actually quite good, chips were awful — pithy & greasy.

My bride and I chose to stay at the Malthouse on the night of our wedding. We stayed in the penthouse suite. The room was amazing. Aesthetically, there are quirks, mixing shabby chic with pop part etc. It is an unforgettable room. The beds were comfy and the kitchen facilities were very useful and clean. The bath was deep and provided a luxurious soak. I will definitely be taking my wife back there.

The bar was lovely and the staff were friendly. However my only criticism would be it was far too hot in there for a band to play and people enjoying a good dance. Maybe some air-conditioning units would help.

Amazing service, the best rooms in a hotel that I've ever seen! In penthouse suite, room VERY hot, but amazing! Came for night before my wedding and Can't wait to come again.

We had dinner at the Malthouse a few years ago and loved it. So on our recent trip to Ironbridge Gorge we thought we'd go back. The menu had changed, but the food was still very good. The battered fish and onion rings were notable standouts for my partner. I ordered the rack of ribs and while the accompaniments were perfect, the ribs themselves had too much sauce and were just a bit too tough. They were not falling off the bone as they should have been. They still tasted good and I was hungry so I made due. The service was adequate, although the staff were a bit standoffish. They could have been a bit friendlier. But overall, the place is still worth eating at if you're visiting the Gorge.

Riverside restaurant in beautiful Ironbridge. Friendly warm service, plentiful plates of amazing pub food. Great range of specialist ales. We have been a few times, great atmosphere in the evenings with good bands, this time we visited for lunch and sat outside on the terrace. Would definitely recommend. Next time we will take our children as the kids menu looks really good too. Only thing I could pick on that im not keen on (and it doesn't affect the experience) is the interior decor is very dark and unusual!

Great on a weekend, used to love staying overnight when working in Telford until they stopped doing breakfast so wont stay again.

Pleasantly surprised on entrance. Gothic look but don't judge before you sample. I'm known to be a food critic around my family and friends and a snob lol… All joking apart, food was fantastic, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Rec.

Don't tell anyone but it was fabulous. We stayed in the penthouse with two bedrooms and two bathrooms so the children had lots of space and were at home straight away. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was good. The music on Friday and Saturday could be heard but we were clearly warned about this and it was not a bother. We're looking forward to the next visit.

We visited The Malthouse for the first time last week, we spent a weekend there in The Rock Suite, its like somethin a film star would stay in! The Malthouse is split in to 2 parts, the Rock Bar holds live music Thurs to Sundays I believe,, its one of the best nights out we've had! It gets very very busy but its mostly a slightly older crowd so no trouble. The service is spot on, we had outside table service all night, felt like we were on our hols! On the Sat night we fancied a bit of quiet time so we treated our selves to sipping on bubbly in the new restaurant garden which looks very moody and inviting at night time. The food is absolutely spot on, and my wife being one of the fussiest people I know was more than impressed, if you want a real treat eat of the specials board, equally the pub food is very good though and reasonably priced. I know im going on a bit now but having read the below reviews which are obviously written by either competition/people who have been kicked out or god knows who I felt I should give the Malthouse exactly what they deserve an honest review. Your'e doing a fantastic job, 10/10 guys keep up the good work and we will be back very soon, Jon and J.
