As a family we've eaten here quite a few times. Usually it's a nice experience, decent food and great prices. The place is usually staffed minimally which is fine when it's quiet but it often gets busy and we often sit down on a table that has plates and glasses from the previous customers left on it and have to ask the staff to remove them. On the whole it's okay, you get good value but it could easily be better and cleaner.

Visited for some lunch and a pint of cider. Fairly busy, but there is a great deal of space. Not the cleanest establishment though. Most empty tables were still host to the remains of previous orders, and the furniture was looking a little worse for the wear. Food is average. Certain key pieces of the meals were left out, and we had to enquire further. And the staff is a mixture of being very rude, and very friendly.

Great food, resonabley priced, great atmosphere, great staff.

Basic menu, but to much choice can be over whelming. Family friendly. Staff friendly and helpful.

Went in with my kids this afternoon to get them an ice cream and I ordered a pint on the app. They bought the ice cream out and told me their policy is that if I have kids with me I can't have alcohol without having a full meal. I've done this plenty of times. I always nip in with my girls if we're in town. They said they'd give me a refund but then a bar maid came along with my pint. I explained I'd just been told I can't have it and she had no idea what was going on. I went to the bar to wait for my refund to be told it would take 3 working days. So they take my money, have a flaky policy and then I have to wait for my money back. The bar man I spoke to seemed to think it was funny and just laughed at me when I complained. When I said I'd done it loads of times he just said well I shouldn't have done. I've spent a lot of money in there on breakfasts and snacks for my kids. Will be using Harper's in future where the staff communicate with each other and don't treat you like an irresponsible alcoholic parent.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The service was impeccable. Also the food was a good surprise: cheap and tasty.

Was pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. Spacious, nicely decorated and modern. The room was comfortable and clean. Brought up some wonderful cocktails from the bar below and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. However, struggled to get to sleep when the time came due to the pillows being remarkably thin and the mattresses a little on the hard side but that may just be due to being used to our own mattress. Was then woken up at 7am by people shouting and loading what seemed like hundreds of empty beer barrels onto a lorry, although it sounded more like Stomp had decided to perform directly below our window. This noise continued for at least half an hour and then happened again shortly after myself and my partner had managed to get back to sleep, waking us up yet again and ruining our plans for a nice lie in. The hotel and rooms itself were pleasant though and I wouldn't mind staying again, if put in a room that is NOT right near the barrel dumping ground.

Told by a member of staff delivering me my food with a lot of facial hair to remove my peeked hat or turn it to the back as it’s is company policy. Get a snood on round the food so I am not eating your old biscuit crumbs… I eat here weekly and have never been asked or told this I am not a member of staff I am a every day paying member of public with no dress code. Really rude and pathetic Mc d’s it is then.

Came here for a social event. The place was had as great atmosphere and I was impressed with the fact we could order and pay for drinks without having to leave our seat and they would be delivered really quick too!

Great price, food and service. You can order from your table from the app. Perfect!

Considering it was Xmas eve, the service was great. They helped in any way possible. And their haggis tastes great.

We had a Christmas work social meal here on the very busy last Friday before Christmas. The service was reasonably quick considering the pace of the evening. We all ate and enjoyed our meals but the peas were left by everyone as they were so overcooked/ or tinned. I would come again but check before ordering. Drinks are meals are very reasonably priced.

Every gents cubical was blocked, sick was on the stairs that staff and pubic walk up for the couple of hours I was there. I understand that it was busy but u should have known and prep for this time of year.

Had a coffee with a friend. Service was lovely, the drinks were nice. The only issue was that the place needed a bit more cleaning.

The food here is very nice. The service is very quick there so you don't have to wait around. It would be better if we didn't have so much trouble parking.

Had the new pizzas and 3 small plates to share. All cooked lovely. Great service. Good visit all in all.

Nice and helpful staff, low prices, food quality — more than average. Free coffee refills for a breakfast. Busy at the weekends — awaiting time on a bar up to 5 minutes.

Nice pub — Food came out very prompt but bar took about 20 minutes to get a drink. Was quicker to use the app.

Good selection of beer. Good value food. Some of the clientele are a bit rough.

All members of staff are very helpful and there full Scottish breakfast is amazing.

Very clean and comfortable. Free Tea and Coffee in the room with drinking water as well. Well worth the money! Puts a lot of other places to shsme.

Accommodation reasonable for the price but dining and drinking area unhygienic and dirty. Tables rarely cleared and never cleaned. Just sitting makes you feel uncomfortable due to sticky messy tables. Outside area is none smoking which doesn't make sense. Plenty of staff but no one concerned with cleanliness.

Good location, great conditions and great price. I recommend this place.

Comfortable room & helpful staff. Weekend was almost ruined as my phone wouldn't work. One staff member of staff (Amy) contacted my family to arrange meeting on my behalf. Customer service to extreme. Thank you so much for a great time.

Lovely Wetherspoons hotel, great value.

Quick and reasonably priced food.

Good location, very good value for money and food quality.

The surrounding area is quite rough, when we first arrived in our wedding suits we got some incredulous looks from tracksuit clad passers-by. The hotel reception is small yet well decorated with a welcoming, upmarket feel. Reception staff were very friendly, very helpful and wouldn't be out of place in a much more expensive hotel. The rooms were tastefully decorated with impressive high ceilings, high quality fittings and the feel of an edgy, modern London hotel. I especially admired the addition of local touches to the room (I. E. Overhead map of a historic local railway). The all important free Wifi was fairly easy to connect and held a good connection. Overall the hotel was a very pleasant surprise, if you overlook the council estate views out front the hotel itself is finished to a high standard and would not be out of place in London or an upmarket foreign holiday. Would visit again.
