It’s perfect not busy very high standards and very attentive and friendly staff The food is first class.

Arrived to meet a friend for Sunday lunch. Jackie and Sue were extremely friendly, and especially Lucy who really made us feel really welcome. Beautiful riverside location, friendly regulars, very clean and the roast beef lunch was AMAZING. I would 100% recommend, you will NOT be disappointed. Andy H.

Absolutely wonderful evening for 17 of us for my son's surprise 21st birthday meal.
Food was delicious atmosphere relaxed and the amazing staff that couldn't do enough for us to make sure we enjoyed our evening.

Great atmosphere, the owners are an absolute hoot and it's a family run business, will be coming back preferably every day but don't think my waistline would appreciate it 😂

Went there last night for the first time and can safely say it won’t be the last. The place is clean and well presented, the staff serving were polite and were wonderful from start to finish — flawless customer service. Only tiny set back was we waited an hour for our food which felt like a long time but it was apparent the food was freshly made which would explain why and the food was well worth the wait — not only delicious but generous sized portions for the price. Now have to mention the dessert I had was divine it was a vanilla cheesecake with cherries on top served with ice cream. We had been charged for a pint we had not consumed or ordered and when we notified the staff they resolved this for us so again flawless customer service. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night but perhaps plan to have a seat at 6pm if you want to eat at 7pm as there may be a wait but you won’t be disappointed with the food quality or service you receive.

The rump steak was amazing with all the trimmings I have eaten in some top notch restaurants and inns but never tasted a steak so rich in flavour and cooked to perfection. One place I will be recommending to my colleagues. The rooms are spectacular too what a gem of a place to talk recommend.

Had Sunday lunch there today. Food was great. Service was spot on. Didn’t catch the name of our waitresses but they were fantastic. Very professionally run and organised.

Lovely meal with my family today. Quiet and friendly inside with rustic decor and seating available on the river bank. The food was so tasty and accommodated my gluten free needs being coeliac. We waited quite a while for food but we didn’t mind.

I can’t see why people rave about it here, it’s exactly why we came as people say it’s fantastic.
The food is very ordinary, menu is not as advertised on the website. As lovely as the staff are the attention to detail needs tuning.
I don’t mind paying £17 for wine but not for it to sit on the table for 30 mins unopened.
Baked Camembert with a tiny piece of bread to mop up the cheese. Warm olives, steak like leather, tasteless fish, small portion of tasteless salmon. We didn’t get desert as we were told at 8.45 we need to order as the kitchen is closing. I will not revisit.

We stayed at the Ship inn. Lovely room and bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and great value. Friendly service and helpful with it.

Only came for a couple of drinks but looked very nice to eat and spend more time at.

Lovely place to relax by the river. Staff are always warm and welcoming, good food, my husband enjoyed a very special large burger made and brought to us by the chef himself, our 3rd time coming to The Ship Inn, definitely my new favourite!

Excellent Gastro Pub which is a rarity out in rural Lincolnshire. A short drive away from the road will see you arrive at a quaint new build that is the Ship Inn. Situated on a river Bank with outdoor seating and great friendly staff it is definitely worth a visit to anyone in the area.

Just been for lunch at this hidden gem, the food was some of the best we have eaten and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends.

We went on a quiet Monday evening, meals were reasonably priced, cooked on demand, and chef very willing to adapt menu to suit personal preference.

Had a great birthday meal. Food and service was second to none. Very friendly atmosphere and nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely little inn in the countryside. We stayed for 2 nights and had no complaints. The room was spacious and clean — the amenities were spot on and the staff very friendly and helpful. Plus the food was very very good. Would highly recommend.

Great location — even on a cool and grey March lunchtime. Lovely modern interior with a good selection of beers and other drinks. Fish is their thing and the gurnard and also the fish and chips were very good. Friendly, chatty people made us feel very welcome. Not the cheapest, but excellent food, well presented by nice people; you get what you pay for. Will definitely return.

Before booking I phoned to check that they had two ‘twin’ rooms available, as advised by the Lady that I spoke to, they did have two ‘twin’ rooms available so booked them. Anyway, I wanted to put my mind at ease that we were in fact in ‘twin’ rooms so I phoned again to double check and was told that yes, not to worry we were in ‘twin’ rooms, room 1 and 2 each with a double AND a single bed.
You can imagine my disappointment when we were handed the keys to a double room …we would NOT have booked a double room.
Other than the issue with being given the wrong room and the fact that I have emailed them regarding this issue with NO response…we would have returned!

Family brought me here for Sunday lunch and birthday treat. Party of 7, got one of starters wrong. Long wait for main course, they forgot one portion,, mine was cold. Vegetables arrived when almost finished. Long wait for desserts. Coffee lukewarm. Restaurant drafty. Not busy so no reason for delays. Very disappointed.

Food and staff always brilliant. We had or Christmas dinner here and it was lovely. Often take the dog on a Sunday as there are great walks down the river.

The food is amazing, which is what you go there for. But, a few niggles that will make the whole place amazing, if they address them. Firstly, the toilets — they're freezing cold! The floor in the gents is always wet and the light in the vestibule part is in need of a new bulb. Get some kind of heating in the loos (my wife tells me the ladies is also freezing cold), mop the floor and pop a bulb in — not big jobs, but, enough to make your customers feel a bit better about their experience. Secondly, serving staff, it goes from one extreme to the other; one girl is so full on and chatty, you wonder if she'll ever go away and leave you in peace — the other one was so scared of everyone that she stared at the floor and I thought she was going to burst into tears if anyone spoke to her. I understand that staff is always a fine line and you need to get it right, but, they're the people the customers see and they need to be right for the job; friendly and polite without being over the top. As I said, the food is amazing and everything is beautifully made and presented, tastes awesome and is a real credit to the chef.

Comfortable bed, good shower and excellent breakfast. Peaceful nights sleep.

This was a fabulous break we had three nights there. The manager was so lovely nothing was to much trouble. The room was very spacious and clean everything you could possibly need.
It was so peaceful and the breakfast was absolutely delicious all locally sourced.
The restaurant food was brilliant as well.
We could not have had a better stay anywhere else we feel we have found a real gem we will certainly be returning. Well done for getting things turned round after the previous management. You have a great atmosphere.

A nice quiet place situated in a scenic location. Ideally placed for Spalding and other nearby attractions and nature reserves. The rooms are big, as are the ensuite bathrooms, which had room for a larger shower cubicle than the one fitted, but what is fitted works well. This is also one of the few places I've stayed where the supplied towels are actually big enough to wrap around after a shower. Breakfasts, although a little slow to arrived are big enough and tasty enough. One thing I would pick up on is the Velux windows which should have been top hung not centre pivot, as you could potential hit you head on them when open. All in all a nice place that I would recommend and would be happy to stay at again.

Very comfortable and clean large en suite room, first class breakfast, excellent service and friendly staff. Food menu a little over priced. However, likely to return in the future.

Found this charming pub by chance. Newly reopened tonight with new Landlady and new menu. Service and food was excellent.

Well after moving to the area in November 2016 and having many good nights and bringing all my family here from out of the area, Tonight 11/6/2017 at 9:25pm husband and I decided after alittle stroll along the river bank would call in to the ship for a tipple before starting another week at work, to be greeted at the bar by a member of staff i. E: female who after I asked for a drink her reply was "I'm sorry I have closed the bar down because I haven't had a customer for over an hour" am I on the understanding then that if you have no customers then you no longer serve drinks! So closing times are when you have no customers! Considering my booking for a party of 16 in December 2017, we then strolled to the Ship on A16 where we was greeted at the bar with a smile and a request of what we would like to drink where the bar staff there found it rather strange after we told them about our experience at The Ship Inn at Surfleet… got the impression you took enough money and close the bar when you want, why was the doors still open? For what reason!

Had 3 short breaks here. 5 stars every time. Staff fantastic. Food excellent. A1. We stay at places like this often and this is by far the best we've ever been. Thanks xx.
