Went with work colleagues for afternoon tea with a voucher. Price was okay with discount £12 per person and you have a glass of bubbly, either a pot of tea or some coffee and the tray of sandwiches, sweets and scones to share between two. The scone was really good actually. The staff was very helpful and friendly, Sarah and Tom if I remember correctly. I must say we were a bit challenging, as my colleague wanted to try all the cakes and kept on asking for more, and there was no egg and mayo sandwiches so she asked for those, they included sandwiches with hummus as well and she made a note of that, then she wanted water with ice, more coffee with no extra charge, a lemon sponge cake that was not on our shared tray. And as I have been a waitress I would just say that we were a very demanding and challenging group of people — I actually felt a bit awkward at times, but the staff kept very friendly and were bringing everything that we asked. The location of the place is very well situated, next to the underground and you then can also step out and go for a walk in Hyde Park from one of my favourite part of the park with the fountains and the architecture for Lancaster Gate entrance. The interior of the hotel is very, I don’t know how to describe, old style, but very old. It has character but kind of feels too old and not in a good way. The green paintings all over the room make it bright but it’s just outdated. Overall we had a good experience. Just not my favourite place I would say. But I want to say a massive thank you to the staff that were there.
