Ok! so I am a regular traveller both for work and leisure and in all fairness do NOT come across such appalling experience as the experience we had in this hotel. Specially that it was an expensive hotel in central London and I guarantee you definitely get much better service from cheaper chains! PLEASE READ this before you book with this hotel. I have both summary and the details experience below: in summary expect this from their SUPERIOR room:
— WALL BED and (not a proper bed) so uncomfortable
— very run down room
— bathroom super tiny
— Noisy
— Broken Phone (we had to walk up to the reception for issues we had)
— Broken TV
— utterly incompetent and unhelpful staff
— Scaffolding right outside the room windows
— be woken up by noises from builders working NOW Details:
We booked a night to celebrate my partner's birthday and they RUINED it! FIRST of ALL: Don't fall into trap of pictures on their website. Their basic room is called 'Superior' and it is NOT 'superior' by any measure of standards! SECOND of ALL: when we told them the room we are not happy with the room and nothing works, they said we they have no rooms available and suggested if they can move us to ANOTHER HOTEL! mind you this was at 11 PM in night! we just could not believe this was their solution!

My go to hotel when in London not the cheapest but delivers on all aspects, great value for money and location cannot be best for access to everythig.

We loved our stay here, just having the door opened for us was delightful. Beautiful hotel with lovely staff, we’re looking forward to visiting again.

Stayed here for three days. The location of the hotel is great — it’s central but quiet. The building is very old and the rooms have probably seen better days. It’s all very rustic. Some people might like it but it wasn’t my taste. The bathroom could have been cleaner. There were water stains on the tap etc. The Wi-Fi here is EXTREMELY slow. I could barely receive emails.

We had a good experience in this hotel with very kind people working there. We Will be back next time as we stayed there very well. Grest Portland station is at 5 minutes. The road is quite. Breakfast is wonderful. Everything is really ok.

Good hotel, nice helpful staff and clean rooms. Walking distance to some nice restaurants. I had dinner at Caravan on Clipstone road and Crazy Bear Thai in Fitzrovia, delicious!

This hotel had been booked and paid for me, and looking on the website, was looking forward to my stay. Unfortunately, the hotel is not as grand as the pictures show. The room was much smaller as the twin beds were pushed together with minimal space to get round, window side. There was no air conditioning, and not much of a breeze came through the windows. There was an office fan provided. Also facing the back of Nandos, 5am barrel dropoffs/collections were not the nices…t of wake up calls! The room needed some attention, as handles were hanging off of drawers and no hooks in the bathroom to hang your wet towels up and did not feel confident hanging them over the doors. Coffee/tea facilities were sparse, but the redeeming feature was the polite and friendly staff who were happy to supply extras and also flat sheets to sleep under. The breaksfast was excellent, but I didn't pay for it! The menu looked nice for dinner, but the restaurant was empty so we didn't go in and looked like it was laid ready for breakfast anyway. The Holiday Inn on the corner might be a better choice…

Decent 4 star hotel. The price is a bit high taking into account that the hotel inside is not the newest one. Other than that the check in process, room quality and breakfast are ok. Be careful as there is no ac in the rooms so the temperature inside can be quite hot especially in the summer.

My husband and I travelled to London for a 3 day trip. When checking in staff were nice and helpful. Our room, Room 107 was clean and nice but tiny, we had reserved a superior double! Definitely not a superior double … We were gutted when we walked into our room as it was like a sauna, no air con. Something we had not thought to check when looking for a hotel, we had assumed all hotels had air con. We had 3 nights of no sleep and only a small fan to help keep us cool. We both thought the Continental breakfast was very nice and the staff helpful and courteous. The staff at the ground floor bar were ok but I would suggest more training on sharpening up their Bar skills! In summary, I wouldn’t really recommend this hotel as we did not have a comfortable night sleep as the temp in the hotel was not comfortable.

A very nice and homely feel to this hotel. We had a great stay and felt like we were home. The staff is very friendly and makes one feel at home… with all the amenities. Plus it’s very centrally locates for shopping or getting around the West End. Kudos and wish you all the best. I would definitely mark our stay here as very memorable… I have stayed all over the world and this stay will remain special.

Neat rooms, polite staff at the reception. Located in a relatively quit neighborhood yes very accessible to shopping and restaurants.

Lovely hotel, the staff are nice, the room are comfortable but a bit old. Near to Oxford street maybe around 10 minutes walking to selfridges Worth the money. They don't have water bottle in the room. This hotel is in front of Nando's so you don't have to worry if you're hungry.

Very disappointed. 4stars used to be top notch now they must give them out like smarties. Tea n coffee facilities hidden away had to go and ask. Door wouldn't open fully due to a cupboard and bed that close to door couldn't get suitcase in had to lift it over the bed! Light didn't work and tap covered in limescale… To be told its an executive twin. Id hate to see the standard. Premier inns better than this.

Great hotel. Very British. Good value for money. Top position.

A practical comfortable place for a weekend stop over did not use the room service or restaurant but very good options on the menu if you wanted this service.

We have just returned from a night at the hotel. I always find it a shame that people have to ask to be compensated for bad service. We arrived and whilst we were getting ready to go out we tried to watch the TV or play some music, the TV would not hold signal, we were visited twice by a member of staff who said they had experienced the problem before, they did offer to change our room however, due to our time scale we declined as I had already started to run a bath, little did I know that the plug did not work so I had to have a bath with a flannel and glass over the waste which was not very relaxing or ideal. The breakfast was also really poor. When we checked out I mentioned the problems and was not compensated in any way — not very good customer services.
The location of the hotel is great as it is a short walk from the train.

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Good heating system, nice and warm in winter. Cooked breakfast leaves a little to be desired.

The cleaning staff doesn’t clean thoroughly. (Mildew in bathroom, doesn’t change bedding, discoloration of carpet) The shower door is seems broken The hotel old and needs to be updated The staff are kind. Location is perfect!

Great location both to move to Oxford Street and to get to the nearest Metro (Great Portland Street). Building dated but in very good condition, rooms on the ground floor spacious. Excellent cleanliness. Friendly and helpful staff.

Awesome location. Nice hotel. Old looking design, vintage? I like the fact they have conditioner. And the gel smells quite good! Good buffet breakfast and the guys over there are very nice. For those who love Mando's there is one just in front of it.

Home Perfect hotel more than charming staff perfect for a more than reasonable price and the location is perfect to get from one neighborhood to another easily.

Breakfast was good and 24 hour bar is nice but couldn't find the temperature controls for the room so it was uncomfortably hot.

To say it as charm, charisma and soul, doesn't make it justice… This is an old hotel. No doubt about that. However, one feels like on a Sherlock Holmes eoisode — the Jeremy Brett ones! The full english breakfast is a must!

A very charming and comfortable hotel, not cheap by any means but nice rooms and bathrooms, a well stocked breakfast selection and no traffic noise. Rooms very warm but you can open the sash windows or use the air conditioning. Would definitely use again.

Location is comvienent to the tube system or walking distance to many shops and restaurants. I'm not used to not having ac but that's not the hotel fault. Service has also been good. There was no early check-in but they took out bags so we could walk around.

The room we had was very small and really warm to the point I had to ask for a fan which I waited hours for (not very impressed). Breakfast was fine, the place was clean and staff friendly but I would not come back to stay at this hotel again.

A very old fashioned hotel that needs urgent renovation. On the plus side the location is really good and it is still quiet.

The hotel itself seemed quite dated in places. I found our room very small, and on one of the hottest weekends of the year it was very stuffy. We asked for a fan for our room and were told if there was not one in the wardrobe then one would be bought up for our return from our trip out. 3 hours later we got back to no fan and being told there are now none available. However going down to the reception the one guy walked straight to a cupboard and bought one out. The other staff didn't seem all that helpful. Breakfast was nice but again let down by the staffs ability to clear tables. For the money a weekend stay cost I expected a lot more from this hotel. I very disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic stay! After a horrible experience one night in a dodgy hostel, our stay at the Grange Hotel was magnificent! Staff were always friendly, kind and attentive. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and beds were super comfy! Would recommend to anyone and everyone! Located in such a wonderful location also. I cannot wait until my next stay there.

I was in this hotel two nights. As a guest at a conference, I did not choose the hotel, however I found myself very well: clean room, quiet and very people friendly staff.

Love the hotel because its located in a very quite place. The internet is great and the rooms are clean. Recommended.

Nice venue, although as others pointed out a bit outdated. Wi-Fi works fine. Just a note that it would be nice if I was charged for breakfast after having it, not right when I'm sitting. Most hotels have enough with the room number… Other than that all good.

Awful food and staff without a clue or training. This is truly the ugly cousin of 'The Grange' brand. Do not be fooled by the name or location, it should be avoided!

Very attractive venue if a good location. I visited for a training course. The facilities are pretty good and very clean. Room had built in projector and free Wi-Fi available. Nothing to complain about here.

Great location. Rooms are quite expensive. If we went back, we'd go on a Sunday when it's cheaper. Staff are friendly and attentive. Would recommend besides the cost.

I have nothing but praise for the way we where treated at this hotel when we stayed recently for one night. Every thing you would expect from an hotel of this standard meet my expectations.

Great location. Our room was on the bottom floor at the back of the hotel with little natural light. As per most London hotels it seems overpriced for what you get.

Very rude staff, refused to correct a booking error. Would rather no change a booking date by 5 days for the sake of pocketing the money and loosing a future customer. Both confused and appalled at service.
