Hotel

A mediocrity in the management of the structure that left me dismayed. Small rooms and a bathroom similar to that of an RV. Every day something broke. The magnetic keys were demagnetized every half day. Running air conditioning at times. A catastrophe.

Staff seemed like they were annoyed with the simple duty of checking me in. Shower head was busted and spraying water everywhere. TV speakers were blown and distorted. No safe. No mini fridge. No outlets near the bed. Breakfast was horrible. Only an instant coffee machine. Will not stay again.

The room was clean. The shower curtain did not keep the water within the shower (so the bathroom floor got all wet). The AC did not work and when we asked someone to come to the room to check on it, we were told someone would be right up… but no one ever showed up. The next night we asked for a fan but were told they had no more fans available.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very nice and for the price it seems very correct.
The hotel is not of the level of the majority of the Ibis style of France but does very well the job.
Good for those who do not have the means to stay in the city center.

This Hotel is an ok place to stay at, however I would not go there again. The positive thing about this, is that it is right by the Excel which I needed at the time. However it is a bit far from downtown, if that is your purpose of being in London, then I would recommend getting something a bit closer in the middle of London. On the other hand there are lots of public transportation options right outside the door that allow you to get downtown within 30 — 60 minutes. The bed was comfortable, however the bedding was a bit thin, but luckily they have extra bedding in the room. The rooms come with a safe, TV, desk, chair, shelf and bed. And the walls are quite thin, so if your neighbor is watching TV, someone is talking in the hall or outside you will be able to hear it. My biggest complaint would be the size of the shower, because it is so small that it is hard to simply shampoo your hair or shave. However it is possible, but you will bang against the walls and hit the waterfossat which will change the heat or pressure of the water.

A hammer drill next-door as an alarm clock… A very rude and dismissive reply from the Head of Housekeeping, without any apology just stating that it was "standard working hours" and "I should have told reception and they would have given me a room". No reply to my response that it was a bit late. Things that would have gone someway to fix the poor experience. — An apology — Perhaps a token gesture like a year membership to the loyalty scheme (costs nothing and gets repeat business). — Partial Refund — Full Refund Things to avoid it. — Warn guests workmen will be in the room next door working from 9am. — Perhaps wait until after checkout of the guests nearby before starting work. — Perhaps see that there was a Do Not Disturb sign on the door next door and don't use a hammer drill!

Nice hotel, well located with the underground DLR right next door. Very kind in the deal at all times. Breakfast included, simple but enough. The pub very well integrated into the hotel. The menu of meals is the same as the hotel but is sufficiently varied and not expensive for the London level. All very good. The same in the drinks… And beers that is London. We were in apartment type room. Very comfortable and spacious, with bathtub and mini with microwave and fridge. The only negative thing is that it is a semi basement, little light coming in and no view. But if you're going to be sightseeing all day, that doesn't matter.

All right for the hotel of these ratings and price.

Stay with a wonderbox we enjoyed the kindness of the staff. Very attentive and good advice. The room is this small as well as the bathroom but to sleep and relax it is sufficient breakfast very varied and really hearty close to the DLR appreciable we will return with great pleasure!

A nice way to ease yourself from the week days stress, which is situated close to the Excel Centre and it is only just 3 minutes away. It has a clean environ and an appetising breakfast with lots of nice recipe. Tidy rooms and bed spread with a quality. The lighting systems were well arranged and the bathrooms were cozy. The window blinds were very nice with a beautiful colour wall painting. The rooms had a nice fragrance and even up to the reception and to the lift. I really had a great weekend. Looking forward to be there once again.

C is excellent hotel calm well situate, Metro are not far and good holiday for everyone.

The room was basic, but nice and comfortable. Very clean and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay, including towels and toileteries. Breakfast was ok, it was a continental breakfast so if you like ham and prunes you're in luck. There was a more limited selection on the breakfast buffet on the second morning (no pastries) but what they did have was nice enough. An English breakfast was available for a extra cost but we didn't want that. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite and the reception desk was open 24 hours so there was always someone.

Visited on a tour with my school. The room was small. I hated the bathroom water would get out and the curtain would stick to my body everytime could barely move. They had a limited selection of breakfast it was good nonetheless. Regular and chocolate filled Crossiants (10/10 recommend). Ham, cheese. Different types if bread. Tea and Coffee. Juice machine of grapefruit, orange and apple. They had muffins too.

Had 2 different rooms. Both need sound insulation from the hallway and neighbouring rooms. Bathroom was basic. Had a fault with the shower, left a note, it was fixed when I returned in the afternoon. Both rooms had rubbish pillows. Work paid so presumably it was cheapest so close to the excel centre, but I wouldn't choose to stay there if I was paying. Went from a twin to a double room, and the double was given slightly better welcome treats i. E. Some rather than none. Chocolate on the bed.

This hotel seems to have become a youth hostel. I have stayed more often at this hotel and was actually always happy. This time you can see that the breakfast was reduced to the minimum. In the past there was always full breakfast with all the trimmings. This time cheese, cooked ham, some jam and a little cereal. Toasted bread and small hard buns. Then a volume in the dining room, it is quieter in every factory canteen. No seats at times because entire school classes introduced through the dining room. In front of the hotel construction site where 24 hours was worked around the clock, even at night (very noisy! )
Once you fell asleep in two nights the fire alarm went off (1:30 2:30) in full volume. Supposedly young people smoked?!. Who in or Looking for a hotel in London, it would be better to spend a few "dimes" and not be in a "better hostel". Pity this has become so. It was all good once.

Very far from the center. But there is a metro stop nearby. With two changes. There is no restaurant but you can eat in the pub next door…

Good connection to the subway. Breakfast OK.

Mid-quality Hotel, located about half an hour from central London.

Hotel is OK for English conditions. The bathrooms are processed with no pleasure and it's pretty darn noisy but for 3-4 days it's okay.

Amazing friendly staff. Lovely clean cozy rooms. Even 2 free bottles of water on arrival. Nice buffet breakfast super clean super helpful staff in the breakfast buffet and super location 2 minutes walk to dlr.

Very bad evening staff at the hotel reception well overall and especially the very friendly morning staff of Indian origin.

Awful stay. The first room we were given was an adjoining room and had a weird smell about it. Asked to be moved but was first told that there were no other rooms, but when pushed put us in another room that was small and creaky. You could hear people walking around and talking in the next room and there was a handwritten note, in Spanish, saying that the shower was broken. It still had a weird smell to it. Frequently visit excel and this was my first and last visit.

Great breakfast, decently clean and quiet. Small bathroom but well worth the money considering it was only £45. Good access to DLR too.

What you pay is what you got and the room was cheap so the interior room was very basic and very small. The good thing is that you have a sort of phone in your bedroom that foreign tourist can use to guide themselves in London so that's a good extra. Very basic breakfast.

Value for money is perfect. The rooms are very small but adequate for overnight stays and clean.

Simple but clean, friendly nice little hotel. Adequate room especially if you are just needing it for resting. Ideal location for visiting Excel. Continental and full English breakfast available. Always someone at Reception, very nice friendly staff. Cafe within as well.

There were nice staff, good breakfast and enough facilities to get to the city centre from the hotel.

The shower was very small and ours was quite cold. The hotel is also very far from the centre.

Deceptive Images, noise at night (tremors, aerations). The ground is pretty dirty. Room too small and bathroom shameful (airplane cabin). Very expensive for what it is (not functional, one goes crazy). Obliged to upgrade to have a normal room. Broken Entrance Door (4 minutes to enter). Only one window that you can't open. Noise at night (vacuum cleaner, shower, airport, tram). In short, hotel has to avoid…

Very good hotel located in front of the Metro DRL which is easy to get to the center, only 2 minutes you will also find the bus stop, CN that at night just take N551 from the center to get to the hotel, good also breakfast, very nice room and the price It is excellent, recommended for those who want to save and move even easily without making a long way, in the room you can also find a smartphone for a great access to Internet, free Wi-Fi.

Location is great for transport links and obviously access to the Excel centre. I would recommend ensuring that you get a parking space on site rather than on the street just for peace of mind. The hotel its self is clean spacious but beginning to look a little dated, the room was well equipped for a one night stay and offers a very good full English and continental breakfast. Overall just about get your monies worth because breakfast so enjoy.

Right but very justito, worth paying something else on your visit to London, something removed from the center, clean very just bath Minisculo.

Room was clean. Bathroom was like something from a static caravan and shower was warm trickle of tepid water. The shower handle was broken so when it was switched off you got a blast of cold water. Very outdated hotel. We went to the modern Ibis Excel by mistake before we arrived at Ibis styles and couldn't understand how an Excel hotel could be like something from the 60s-70s with pebble dash wall paper and lurid colours as surely it can't be that old! If I hadn't paid £190 for the room I wouldn't have cared. When we told reception that the shower was not working well on departure the general manager was at reception and said had he known, he would have personally come and mended it. My friend told him it looked terminal and we doubt that even if we had wanted someone in our room whilst showering at 8am, he could have mended it! Bizarrely when I phoned the night before to check my booking, the phone said "welcome to the Ibis styles" but after ages trying to get through, I ended up being put through to Novotel Waterloo. I was told it was their sister hotel but they couldn't help me. The staff on reception and the general manager were very friendly but there are better hotels nearby if you have the option.

The heating was not working and the room smelled a lot like smoking despite being non-smoking.

An affordable hotel, quite suitable for a few days in London. The rooms are small, the bathroom even smaller, without schnick, schnack, but clean and quiet. A way to cook tea and 2 bottles of water are available. The guests are international. Breakfast is OK. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Went in and card was declined. Took a few tries for their card reader to work properly. Room was alright though the light switches by the twin beds didn't work properly. Breakfast was like hell with so many people rushing and pushing each other trying to get food. At the end though, staff was nice to look after our goods for a few hours in storage while I went to London comic con. They also booked a taxi for me to get to the nearest subway station. Was an alright visit, there weren't any major problems other than the card decline mistake.

Small rooms yes — but they have everything you need. The room we stayed in had a desk the running along one wall under the window which was handy. We only stayed one night for a concert at the O2. There's a DLR stop close by or a bus would get you to canning town where it's only one stop to North Greenwich station at the O2. We walked to canning town as it was only 20 minutes. Everything here was clean, nest and tidy. There's a Handy travel companion smartphone in the room that you can use for free with unlimited use. My only gripe is the hand, body and hair shampoo left everything feeling greasy and still soapy. Bring your own shampoo! On the walk back from the station it was past 11 at night didn't feel unsafe at all. There's some construction going on and the rest of it is a little bit run down. Would stay here again for the next concert I attended at the O2 as most of the crowd were going on the tube In the other direction.

Old out dated small, leaking hotel. Would not stay again. Staff friendly, not worth the money charging for smaller cramped room. When you arrive poster at back offering room upgrade for £50 for a modern room. Asked what room have I got if not modern, told standard room none left for upgrade. Visited the crown plaza while in area and and premier inn, So much nice. Primer inn was posh compared to ibis styles and was upset to find out wad cheaper.

Price was reasonable. On arrival we had a little difficulty checking in as they had not received our email for booking but problem was resolved by night staff. Morning staff were polite especially Patience who offered great customer service in general as well as dealing swiftly with the plumbing issue with sink and shower in our room. Room was nice, clean, with basic stylish decor. A little on the small side! Breakfast was good but would of liked to see chicken sausage or beef burger added to the list. Also an option for fried egg not just scrambled would of been a plus. Overall pleasant stay and recommend.

I found it very professional, clean, tidy. Room was large enough and fairly well equipped. My only faults are that: the mattress was harder than I like, so I felt a little sore in the morning, there is no bath (there is a walk in shower instead) but that is fair enough as the hotel is clearly interested in helping with environmental issues, and the restaurant was closed on the night of my stay. However we had a meal in the attached pub instead which was a fairly good standard so we didn't mind. I would recommend overall.

Great location for Excel London, also near to DLR and plenty of restaurants. Good rates and friendly service. However only two small lifts for all of the guests. There were long queues for the lifts during peak hours, especially when one of the lifts became out of service. Also the shower door didn't seal properly and the drain was clogged. Only had one electrical outlet in the room and it had to be shared with the kettle and all of our phones/gadgets.

Cheap, well located, rooms are basic but more than acceptable as a budget hotel. On site restaurant and bar with plenty of choice. Breakfast is good. Just a few minutes walk to London excel. Great value budget hotel.

Checked into our room, all was well and staff were friendly. Room was basic so we upgraded from a queen room to a studio apartment, well worth the money. Great access to DLR and excel centre. Food was good and the pub was cosey.

Room was old looking and not well kept. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was pretty small but serviceable. Quite pricey for what it was.

The location is in a residential medium/low class neighborhood. Its was kinda weird but it was close to the DLR metro line. There will be (in the future) a station right in front of the hotel which is awesome. Taking two trains you are in the big ben. About the hotel it was okay. Decent breakfast, the room was nice and clean. For that price it was a great hotel.

Great for those who go to excell, very close. Everything clean, bathroom completely plastic, kitchen rich as variety and quantity, enough of the quality of the food.

Handy for the Excel, air con worked, good standard of service and staff with a sense of humor. Ensuite a little cramped. Cheap and cheerful would be happy to stay again.

Luckily this hotel is located near a DLR station (not Royal Victoria, like Google Maps would have you believe, but Custom House) because it's a long train ride into town. The room was fairly tiny — smaller than that of its competitors by some way. The bathroom reminded me of modern university halls, not a good thing by any measure. You can use the toilet while having a shower and brush your teeth all at once. The breakfast reminded me of what you'd expect at secondary school, the two best items were the baked beans and the bread rolls. The staff, however, were very friendly, I'll give them that.

For that little extra you can have much better. Bathroom impracticable for the claustrophobic, shower difficult to use even for non-claustrophobic. Still cleaning excellent and is the thing that matters most with the fact that London is definitely cheap. Ideal if you have to reach Excel London exhibition, otherwise a bit out of the way. Good food service and meat but not cheap.

Ibis Styles London is actually pretty well located, there's a railstation right next to it and the city centre is easy to reach. The hotel staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. We booked a double room for our trip and I have to say that it's actually too tiny for two tall people… nevermind, it's enough for sleeping.

Very friendly staff and helpful. Room was clean and good variety of food for breakfast. Free & Fast Wi-Fi which was a bonus. Only a few minutes walk from the Custom House DLR station, so its at an ideal location.

Plus for good location with convinient dlr line, clean but quite oldish rooms. Dissapointed with the bathroom which appreard to be a tiny room hidden behind closet doors. Breakfast very good, I would advise to add some fresh vegetables.

This hotel is most reasonable price around the Excel. This place closed from the tube. Just 3 or 5 minutes by walking. However, this hotel is too far away from the Heathrow airport. It might take a 1 or 1 hour half depand on traffic time. Also, the hotel provides to early breakfast and free Wi-Fi service. I would recommend this place to a business person. Not for a tourist deu to far away from the downtown of London.

The Hotel was conveniently located near a tube station that could take you to the heart of london. The hotel room was nice as we're the people. The only complaint was that the shower was a plastic tube. It was just too small.

Stayed here for two nights and enjoyed my stay. The room was always kept clean, staff was very friendly and the food was great. Excellent transport links into center of London. I will definitely stay here again great value for money.

Went to the pub inside the ibis styles for dinner & drinks with my mum after the professional beauty exhibition because they accept tastecard. I had spaghetti bolognaise and my mum had a buger. Mum really enjoyed her burger my spaghetti bolognaise was ok. Not bad for 2 mains 2 sides and 2 drinks for under £20 with the tastecard discount.

Was OK last year. This year — rude bar staff, bar closes at 12.30 on a Friday night, food average, service average and ran out of Gin! Avoid and pay the extra elsewhere. Nothing stylish about it for the extra costs!

It is a three-star hotel, a little old-fashioned. Is located in the area of the Docklands, with a stop of the DLR to the side, which communicates with the center of the city in about 30 minutes, depending on the connections. The furniture is a little old, and the bathrooms (that don't come out in the photos) are a few added plastic within the room, the type of train. The walls are thin and you will hear plumbing and other noises. The cleaning is good, although it is not a 10. In relation to its price, could be better. The front desk staff is friendly and the price usually includes breakfast, even if it is not a big deal.

The worst hotel I have been so far. Rooms, especially the bathroom is awefull. There is no air condition in the room, only heaters. Staff is not useful and friendly at all. The only thing for my second star is the location. It is close to ExCel London.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful. The room was lovely, and all areas of the hotel were really clean. Thank you so much to the staff for making our stay in London so enjoyable.

What a dump only stay here if there's no where else left in all of London. Hard to find, it's in the middle of a building site a £35 taxi ride from central London. The receptionist took 15mins to check me in as she couldn't find a clean room at 6.15pm. Restaurant looked closed so went into the 'pub'. Pub looked like it han't been cleaned in ages with bits of rubbish on the floor. Workmen are allowed in their dirty overalls and sit swearing loudly. Ordered the 'traditional' chicken pie. Nothing was traditional about it. Inside were 3 pieces of chicken and nothing else. The waiter asked if everything was ok with my meal and I said no the pie had been microwaved so all the pastry was limp and elastic. He said no it had been cooked in an oven and even went to check with the chef who agreed. I'd only been in the pub 15mins what kind of an oven works that fast?

Conveniently located, competitively priced and for London perfectly. Room is small, Breakfast is okay, but for a weekend class.

The rooms here are fine. They were clean and well maintained. The noise from the DLR wasn't particularly noticeable, so the windows must have done a decent job! Also, I was glad to find out that the airport ceases flights at 10 pm. The breakfasts here were fine — not the best fry up I've had, but it was adequate. It felt fairly no-frills (no tomatoes or mushrooms for example). The on-site restaurant food was surprisingly good — I really wasn't expecting much, but it was good, and not too expensive. The shower cubicles are really very small — I kept bashing my elbows on the walls.

A very good experience at this hotel with a pleasant atmosphere helpful staff — at a great price! :) Quiet at night, zero noise outside of weekday working. I'll be back again.

The Reception: Not very nice, looks dirty as the staff not very tidy and clean The Room: Very small, Very cold, Air conditioned doesn’t have heat, only ventilator, Heater only works sometimes. Bathroom: seems an airplane toilet, the shower has a very limited flow of water. The surroundings: In front of the hotel something that looks like a train station is being built which is not nice to see from the bedroom window. Overall service: Third world class service. If you have a problem with the hotel you will experience a surprising experience. Hotel Car Services: Don’t use the hotel Custom Car Services! I lost my plane! The car got to the hotel 15 minutes late and we arrived at the airport 25 minutes late. I called the hotel to get some compensation, like a free night and way and return to London or at least my money back and first they denied that the car was late then finally they said that this is normal and they are not responsible for getting late to the airport. These things happen! The manager hang up the phone and left me speaking alone. I felt suddenly I had left London and I was in a third world country. Costs were £ 75 to pay the car service, £ 130 to change flight to the next day, £ 61 to way and return train tickets to London, £ 90 to sleep at other hotel and one day missing at work.

The room is basic but the food served in the pub is better than expected and the breakfast is ok as well.

Friendly and efficient staff, boundless breakfast, and nice location This hotel is literally right next to the DLR Custom House station for London Excel. It is at Zone 3 so that it will cost a little bit more but still convenient. Most of the time, we took DLR to Canning Town and transferred to Jubilee Line for downtown and it took about 30 minutes or so. They gave us a room on the 2nd Floor facing a parking lot. The room was in good size with basic décor for London standard and basic amenities. Free bottles of water every day which was nice. Free in room Wi-Fi and signal was stable with good speed. Bathroom was very small resembling the ones in the cruise ship but was functional. The room was quiet and comfy so we got pretty good sleep during our 5 night stay. The best part of this hotel was the complimentary breakfast with many choices and we did enjoy it every day. Breakfast staff was friendly and polite even though the breakfast area could be busy sometimes. Another advantage of this hotel is it’s adjacent to the O2 and Emirates Air Line cable car. We took DLR to North Greenwich and rode the cable car one way to Royal Victoria which is only one stop from Custom House by DLR and we enjoyed the ride very much. Don’t forget to get discount using your Oyster card. We would like to recommend this hotel as a budget friendly base when touring London. Stayed August 2013, traveled as a couple.

Nice hotel, good prices and great breakfast. there are only a few things to keep in mind. You get what you pay for: 1) there are almost no hangers for the coats, only in the closet. There's one in the bathroom, but after a rainy day I'm not sure if I'd put my coat there. 2) the shower cabin is really small. Looking on the bright side you can't really slip and fall on the floor, max you'll accomplish is to hit the wall with your face. If you drop something. You have a problem. The cabin is also not friendly to chubbier people.

I attended a convention at the Excel center and this was the only hotel available. What a shithole. Rooms were exceedingly expensive, and very meager, taking the worst aspects of dorm rooms and combining them with some of the best aspects of prison cells. Tiny little windows into prison life. Avoid at all costs.

Usefull, polite, smart and very kind The hotel is excelent considering the money we paid I can say is GREAT.

My stay at Ibis Styles was 5 star! Accommodation was faultless, staff were friendly, helpful and had brilliant humour and went beyond 5 star. Nothing was a problem. I have booked again since my first stay and would recommend.

A great hotel in a fab location which is very well priced. Trains running right outside hotel, comfy beds, lovely breakfast menu.

I was on my course ride with two others in a triple room accommodation, which but rather looked like a twin room with extra bed. The room was relatively spacious, the "Cabinet" but for three people rather small – we lived so simply out of our suitcases, which was also not a problem. As the room a disabled was apparently, the bathroom was decorated accordingly — see pictures. In contrast to "standard rooms" — we — had only a shower curtain, unfortunately the entire floor was wet — something stupid after a shower. There was a plastic cutter, who however extremely constricted the shower and small in the other rooms. The breakfast was okay, but not varied, if you should stay long there. There are croissants, toast, rolls, five different jams and different types of cereal. By DLR and tube ~ 40 minutes from Piccadilly Circus.
