My wife booked this hotel on Secret escapes she had got to the hotel before me as I was meeting her later that evening. Our room was very nice with a four posted bed, I had a shower and was disappointed with the shower gel as it got used up with just the one shower. We had a surprise call from our son to say that he was in London after his flight was cancelled, my wife asked if they had any spare rooms for that night, the only room left was to expensive so the owner was really helpful and he said that we could have a single bed put in our room for an extra £100 including breakfast which was most helpful. That evening all three of us meet up for drinks and it was a really nice atmosphere in the hotel. The problems start because as the evening went on I asked if we could order some food for our son but was told that kitchen was closed at 10pm which was ok but we were not even offered nibbles, and then we found out the extra bed had not been put into our room so the guy on reception was getting very stressed as he said I'm here all on my own and he would have to go and get the bed and put it up Plus's make the bed up! Later my wife went up to bed and my son and I thought we would stay and have another drink and even that was a problem. We all had a good nights sleep as the beds was very comfortable, but things got very messy with the breakfast, because of a really good night sleep we didn't get down for breakfast till 09.30, my wife had got confused about the breakfast card that you are supposed to fill-in and put on your door when you go to bed, we were given the card to fill in at the table, my wife had ordered the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs then changed her mind and crossed that out and we had ordered three eggs Benedict so it was a surprise when the three eggs Benedict come out with the smoked salmon we didn't get out toast till after we had the main breakfast Plus's the yoghurt which we had ordered plain yoghurt but we had to have fruit yoghurt as they had run out of plain. Nice hotel but the Service let it down.
