My post relates primarily to the bar. We had a good meal at red rooster. Really tasty and great service. In general a great experience. Once we had finished our meal we went upstairs for a few drinks. I bought a bottle of Moët for the table. Without my consent, the barman added on a £12 “discretionary” service charge. I have no issue paying for great service, but popping a cork and sticking a bottle into a wine cooler is not service. I then asked why the bill was different to the advertised price and the barmen then went on extended diatribe as the how a) it’s a 5 star hotel (really? ) — just an FYI the tip is at the behest and discrepancy of the customer not you. b) I had already paid to it was not possible to reverse (really guys, really? ). c) after asking why the manager had to come and ask me to fill in a number of forms and a only reneged once I’d challenged them about adding a service charge (which I may add comes as a DISCRETIONARY option on a bill). So that experience alone really annoyed me. I have zero issue paying for service. Don’t take the piss and award yourself a £12 tip because I ordered a bottle of Moët. Just don’t do that. I would really like the management to respond to this and issue like this can really piss clients off.

Had a really lovely stay. Room very comfortable and breakfast great. Would stay again.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Curtain again! Everything made really simple and got a great room. Bed was super comfy and every time I come back, I'm looking forward to my stay. One thing though… I miss the chocolate milk and cookies :) Reggie Hunter.

I find all the staff friendly, accommodating and genuinely care about their jobs and the clientele. Food and drinks are excellent as usual, bed is comfortable and difficult to get out of! Its my go to place if I have something on within 5miles of the hotel I always check here first for availability. Keep up the great work all!

Would recommend as a great place to stay but not for meetings and events. The front desk reception had no idea what events had been arranged, so when the group checked in, they were unable to give them any information about what arrangements that had been made, which was surprising as I had booked the place for 3 days and 4 nights. More attention to customer service would go a long way.

I cannot stress enough how awful my experience was here. My colleague is a member here and brought me here for some relaxed drinks. I walked up to the bar and talked to a stranger in casual conversation just about business, the bar tender made up a story that I offended him and had me embarrassingly kicked out. I tried to ask the bar tender what it was I said and he could not tell me. I strongly advise no one to attend this bar based on my experience.

Absolutely amazing hotel beautiful rooms, fantastic staff and awesome vibe stayed as a surprise for husbands 40th birthday I would highly recommend Thank you to all @ the curtain hotel.

Great facilities & location. However, my stay was disrupted by someone trying to break into my room at 1am. Staff were unconcerned and unhelpful which is irritating given the cost of a night.

They are very helpful and family friendly and the roof top answers all.

I would have felt more welcome at a travel lodge. After enjoying an evening at Shoreditch house I decided to stay in London for the night before returning home. I booked online to speed things up. When I arrived the man at reception said that there was no record of the booking and frankly was very rude about it. I did not expect to be treated this way in an apparent 5 star establishment. After waiting over half an hour and dealing with rude staff I finally got to my room only to find that the bathroom door didn't close and had gaps all around the sides. I have never had to deal with this level of poor service in my life. Very disappointed! If I could have given this hotel a zero star review I would have.

Just signed for my second year as a member and I live out of this place work, eat, drink, party, gym all are great. The staff are amazing and the views from the roof you'll struggle to beat. 3 restaurants (4 if you count the studio bar) keep it interesting all have different themes. 3 bars too again keep things fresh. Well worth a visit. I've also stayed in the hotel which was worth every penny. Big fan.

Love this hotel — friendly welcoming staff — very helpful and attentive. The roof top bar and swimming pool was such a bonus! Really made the stay special. I had a manicure and pedicure at the spa — also very friendly staff and very happy with the nails. My husband had a massage — loved it. The room is very nice — liked the little touches that made it different from any other hotel — the steam shower was very very good touch. Good location for night life and local restaurants. Highly recommend hotel.

What a wonderfully special place! Love — the attentive, helpful and sparkly staff; love — the decor and the rooftop pool/sanctuary; Love — the food and drinks in the Lido and the Red Rooster. We will definitely be back x.

I have been here for less than 24 hours and I must take a moment to give them a 5-star review. I arrived, in poor planning on my part, far in advance of the check-in time, jet-lagged and barely able to keep standing. They took care of me in taking my bags, badging me up to the rooftop terrace where I could enjoy a leisurely breakfast catching up on emails, helping me find a somewhere to replace the plug adapter I'd left at home and getting me into a room nearly 3 hours in advance of check-in which allowed me to get my much needed sleep. The gentleman who helped me to my room was beyond gracious and helpful. The room itself is delightful. Upon awakening and descending to find somewhere to eat, the lady at the front desk provided eloquent suggestions on nearby places. After a brief walk around the block to check them out I returned to Lido, the same rooftop restaurant that had sheltered me that morning, and enjoyed a divine dinner of fried artichoke for a starter, lobster spaghetti for the main, and the chocolate raspberry mouse dessert, accompanied by proseco and rare sunny 80 degree weather in London. Returning to the room I crave a final glass of bubbly to wind down before sleeping and trying acclimate to the new time zone — room service was seamless.

This place is absolutely too cool for me. Went up and checked out the rooftop pool and was blown away by the views. The rest of this property is equally as interesting in different ways. I heard you gotta go to the Sunday brunch and check out the club in the basement.

Really beautiful interior, however service here extremely slow and often tables forgotten about… also it’s impossible to get a seat outside in lido and they don’t take bookings for outside. Pool usually full of kids diving and running about at the weekends, which I don’t mind myself but avoid if you want a relaxing dip/swim not the place to go to feel pampered. But casual and fun.

Nice new hotel, rooms lovely with a steam shower! Paid for the celebration package — so you get what you pay for bottle of champagne. Which I suppose normally a 5 star hotel would just give you for your anniversary. Bar is lovely.
Went up to the roof terrace / pool to relax on Sunday but sooo loud and busy there was no room and not relaxing — so if you want that as a guest this is not the hotel for you. The pool is very small. It’s more like Ibiza rocks on a Sunday afternoon not 5 star.
Wanted a massage / facial in the spa — but they don’t have their own people so it’s not really a spa — they bring people in so no actual recommendations so I didn’t bother. No gym classes on Monday either (so something else didn’t get) — 3 stars as for the price and 5* rating — I expect more like the other 5* London hotels.

Had the most amazing time at The Curtain with James Read Tan for a tanning Bootcamp! The whole vibe is very sophisticated and edgy — the bedrooms are incredible and the steam room shower amazing! We had private dining and Freddie was the most attentive server, the food out of this world and breakfast next morning totally delicious! Will definitely be back!

Location was ideal, the rooms were lovely. Amazingly comfortable bed, great steam shower very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was warm but a bit small, only 10m but bring outside on the roof was a novelty! Would definitely recommend this.

Incredible hospitality as soon as we walked through the door. Welcoming, friendly, efficient and informative all fit the bill of just the welcome desk. Then you've got the rooms which are plush, well stocked and generally just great. Bar downstairs was alive with a great atmosphere when we got home late one evening. Great hotel.
