Had an amazing Christmas meal here. So much food (4 types of veg). The staff are also really lovely. This is our 3rd time here and we will return.

Great pub atmosphere, really good beer and the food was brill, the service was outstanding from the minute we walked in until the minute we retired to our lovely room, many thanx.

We went out family off four, for Sunday lunch! What a fantastic welcome, very friendly, dog loving pub. I must say, the meal was out off this world, huge! Three had beef and one had lamb. Absolutely wonderful! Perfect Sunday lunch, best we have ever had! Won’t be going anywhere else! Can’t wait for Christmas menu! See you soon. We’ll be back! Thank you.

Our second visit to The Talbot and once again we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was excellent, beautifully cooked and well presented. Although it was very busy when were there everything was piping hot and served perfectly. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. You made my mums day as she is a big dog lover and she loved seeing all the dogs. We will definitely be back and bringing our little pooch with us. We highly recommend to anyone wanting great food a great atmosphere to visit this great pub. Thanks again for your lovely service.

Not very helpful and not enough staff.

We stopped here for a bite to eat and to break up a long journey. We were served immediately by a member of staff on his day off, who saw that the scheduled staff was busy serving someone else. They have a varied menu with lots of smaller options for a quick lunch. We had a couple of basket meals (cheeseburger and Thai burger) which were just the right amount and very tasty. The pub wasn’t particularly busy but it had a nice atmosphere and even the dog got a warm welcome with water and biscuits. Would definitely stop again if passing.

The bar staff apologised for the wait, when the food arrived it was hot and tasty.
It turned out there was a new chef who was left on their own so probably didn’t know their way round the kitchen.
Would I go back yes.

Great service. We came in as a table for 2 on a bank holiday weekend and without a reservation, and they found us a table. Food was good and service good. Nice place.

Booked a table for 12 today for carvery and it was absolutely delicious! Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was spot on! Deffo recommend you get what you pay for and more! Deffo coming back soon!

Lovely pub near to the Thames with a very welcoming atmosphere. The terrace next to a little tributary is a great place to enjoy the sun.

A well needed plate full of fish and chips to fill us up after hours of canoeing. Good welcome. Good food.

Came here with a group of friends one evening. Whilst the food was delicious, it was somewhat marred by the service: the staff were rude (telling us to hurry up with ordering straight after informing us that half the items on the menu were out of stock), the food was slow to come, and the bar appeared to ignore us when we went up to order. A somewhat upsetting outcome, given the high standard of the food…

Had a quick stop here with my partner. The bartender was very kind and gave us some advice regarding beer. He served us some real ale which we really enjoyed on the terrace outside.

I used to like coming here for the food, but recently the quality has gone downhill, plus prices are on the higher side (food and drink). Having said that, it's still a cosy, welcoming place to go — the outdoor seating is situated that it has great views of the surrounding countryside and the inn itself has traditional stone interior. Staff are friendly.

Lovely people there. I arrived there saturated after a 6 hour walk through deep mud in tipping rain. Soaked through. The staff went the extra mile to help me dry my kit. The only real fault – and it’s a big one – the bed was dreadful. The worst bed I have slept in in my life. Awful. You could feel the top of each of the springs, almost no upholstery over them. Lying on my side was impossible. Apart from that, it’s a good one. But that mattress needs changing.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfotable, apart from the TV being at ceiling level! The kitchen however needs sorting out.

It's a decent pub on the edge of Eynsham village. Sadly too close to the main road because there's a lovely outdoor area overlooking the river and fields that if you position yourself right you can block out the view of cars. Food is standard, traditional and with no surprises there. It's nothing exceptional, occasionally there'll be a pleasant barperson but it's usually the grumpy 20 year old who wishes you'd leave, which again is why I prefer to sit outside.

I love the place, excellent service The fantastic food if you are passionate about traveling and getting to know new places I would recommend it.

Very noce room, very friendly and helpful staff. Great variety of beer. Quiet and peaceful location but just 10 mins on bus to Oxford.

The staf were friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty, well presented and of good portion size however — £3.50 for a pint of lemonade, and an extra £1 for an abysmal dash of blackcurrent. £4.50 for a non alcoholic pint is appalling. In fact it's enough to turn you to drink!

I like the Talbot. Staff are friendly and offer biscuits to my dog. The setting is close to the Thames path with a pleasant waterside outside seating area.

Went here for a work lunch. All was good apart my forgetting my order. New menu is slightly more limited than their extensive menu before.

I've stayed in the Inn for 1 night, and won't be staying again. CONS: — Bed was not comfortable… You can definitely feel the springs. — The heater turned off during the night, on a VERY cold night, making our room freeze. (Radiator from central heating…) — The bathroom is all carpeted, which I find disgusting in general, but even more so on a hotel. — There was a powerful outdoor light from the Inn pointed straight into our window, which had just a thin curtain. — On the way out in the morning the pub was closed and we had no instructions about keys, so had to figure out something. PROS: — Great food. The burgers were very interesting and very good! — Good staff. Waitress was brilliant. — Price.

We were on our way to Blenheim palace and called in for a meal on route, I cannot fault the place, my husband had off the menu and I had from the specials. My husband meal was lovely, bt my meal was outstanding so much flavour in every bite. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely place.

First time visiting the Talbot and it won’t be the last. The food was really good and the portion sizes were very generous. The staff were really friendly and the gin cocktail was amazing. Would definitely recommend this pub for food or just a drink. Great atmosphere.

The pub and restaurant has good food and service. The location fits our needs but is out the way for most. The views are not great between a busy road and industrial estate. You can park easy and walk to the River Thames.

We went on a Saturday lunch. Beautiful setting. Staff were nice. Fish and chips were ok. But needed mushy peas and chunky chips. Pleasant not epic.

The room was relatively expensive for what it was (£115 for an inn) so expected it to be a nice unplanned stop over. Turned out everything was broken! Door, TV, bed, window blind, wardrobe door, and the shower! The latter could not be used till after 10pm. Oh, the staff very helpfully explained that they were full and lacked water pressure, well that's fine then I will just put up with no water in my en-suite room I'm paying a premium price for! Sorry for the sarcasm, this place is dreadful do not stay here. I have slept better on the ground!

Impromptu visit on Saturday evening… it was quite busy and we hadn't booked! But the staff were friendly and accommodating, found us a table and made very welcome. The menu looked nice but the real gem was on the specials board… home-made lamb and mint suet pudding with red wine gravy, delicious! Will definitely be returning to try out more :) Craft larger also a little winner too.

Pub is in nice location not far out of Oxford. Great range of real ale though disappointing it was not on what I class as a proper pull set up. Food was excellent and great value for money. My gammon was massive! Rooms, as stated, are simple and offer what you need. Being picky the mattress could have been a little thicker… The room I had had a shared bathroom which was adequate but it needs some TLC. Bathroom lock did not have knob on it to help lock the door and the shower looked like it would fall through the tiles at any minute. Breakfast was good and eating outside in the sun topped it off. Good value overall.

Good food in the evening. Budget accomodation pretty poor. Hit and miss service.

The food was great and tasted well, but a little too hot. It might just be my plate. But the room was amazing. It gave the atmosphere of a cozy and local restaurant and pub, that would invite everyone. The service was a little confused, but tried her best, and still gave a good experience. I can totally recommend this Inn for dinner, or just a pint of ale.

The staff were very friendly helpful Breakfast was freshly cooked evening meals were of high standard (especially starter of liver pate) Bed room was of extremely poor standard dirty carpet mouldy shower rusty radiator paint peeling dirty floor. The staff and chefs definitely save this place.

Went in for a meal on the Friday night I had gammon steak jacket potato n salad. Gammon was tough couldn't chew it potato was hard in centre I ate salad which was lovely but because I ate salad before I'd tried the rest and left it they refused to do anything about it for me.

I used to live in the toll bridge up the road and this was our local pub. Staff very friendly. Food was amazing with very generous helpings. I had the fish pie and it was beautifully cooked. Came back from Australia to revisit and it was well worth it. I got engaged in this pub so lots of great memories. A must if in the area.

Lovely pub that does great pub food. Been here twice now, both times had great service, great food at very reasonable prices, and spoke with very lovely front of house staff. Will be coming back again!

The food was good and the staff very nice — > 4.5 stars. The room above the Inn however is horrible. The mattress gave me back ache and in combination with the floodlight right outside the window I recommend staying somewhere else.

The staff were lovely and welcoming, the starter of baked camembert was Amazing. I had chicken which was a bit dry if I'm honest, my other half had Beef Madras which was more like a beef stew, and lacked spices, but came with lovely sides of poppadums, mango chutney, Naan bread and Salad. Having said that, we will return, lovely location and nice staff.

The Talbot was packed out for Sunday lunch, but we were fine to sit on the deck by the river for a drink. Looks like it'd be especially nice to sit out there on a hot day.

Nice, old pub. They also have rooms available. We eat in the restaurant. The food is good and the portions are big. I must admit I found the portions to big.

Food is OK. The hamburger meat was a bit old. Presentation and quality of food should be improved.

Really good food and good sized portions too. Bit small and cramped esp as I had a baby in a cat seat with me but it's worth being a bit squashed for the grub!

Traditional English pub food in historic building and with updated B&B. Very convenient for both Oxford and Cotswolds.
