The hotel staff are friendly and hotel clean and tidy. I just feel a bit dissapointed that you don't find out the pool is shut until you have booked and paid there is no mention on the initial website that the pool is not in use. As it is much more expensive than other hotels we looked at because it has a pool and that is Why we booked it.

Just got back from a fantastic night away at this hotel. I have a few allergy issues and the hotel have been fantastic. We let them know prior to our arrival and they sent me a menu of things that I could have and when we checked in they came to see me to just ask again if they had all the information. I had a menu printed up for me in the restaurant in the evening and I had good choices to choose from. The food was divine and I really didn't feel like the odd one out in my group. The young waiter was amazing and really looked after me. Breakfast was the same and the head of the restaurant came over to ask if I would like certain things and made me feel so at ease they really couldn't of done anymore it was perfect. The room itself was stunning and we had a fantastic nights sleep. Hotel overall excellent and all Covid precautions put into place. I would highly recommend and we will be back. Thank you Oxford Spires for a wonderful weekend.

Visited as part of a hen package experienced a facial and hot stone massage which were heavenly the basic spa facilities pool sauna and steam room very nice staff helpful and polite.
The included afternoon Tea was one of the nicest I have had beautiful fresh sandwiches warm scones and a selection of mini cakes bottomless tea and coffee absolutely gorgeous.

Nice rooms, good access to the city centre along the river. Around 15 minute walk. Hotel has had an extension so our room was a long walk to get back to reception. Pool area was dated and felt grubby.

Nice place to stay for long weekend within short walk to town centre along the river Thames. Downsides include lack of dedicated kids area or playground, small lobby that can get busy, lack of air-conditioning and fridges in the rooms, parking at additional charge. Upsides, friendly and accommodating staff, large garden, low noise, good distance to amenities.

Hotel is in a beautiful location. Close to city but still country side feel to it. My friend and I stayed in double room overlooking the fields. The room was dated but very clean with all needed amenities. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. We were greeted by the hostess which explained how breakfast works. The blond girl on a Saturday morning (Sonita) she gave us option to eat on the patio which we took. Was very relaxing even restaurant looked really busy. Our check out was quick and hassle free. We stored our bags in hotel and went for the river walk to the city. To sum up we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends.

The room was lovely, the staff were helpful and the service was pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. The only complaint is the lack of air conditioning. The rooms were VERY hot during the recent heatwave, and the hallways held heat well into the morning. The mirror in the bathroom is heated, which I imagine would be nice in winter, but in summer it made the already hot room that much hotter while in use. There was a fan, but it was inadequate on 2 nights of the 2 weeks. I would stay here again, but maybe not in the heat of summer.

Very expensive to stay here. Tea is £4. Not spectacular hotel but pleasant. Now have to pay £7,. 50 per night for parking *recently introduced). Make sure you sign your car registration in or you will get a ticket (as I dud) then it's a rigmarole to get that dealt with. Money making machine.

Excellent very good food. Friendly staff, we had a problem with our room due to the intense rain and thunderstorms. We were moved to another room straight away.

Perfect location for visiting Oxford. Tranquil location with easy parking for guests. Excellent food and good wines. The ideal hotel for a relaxing weekend.

We had a lovely meal on Easter Sunday. A carvery which was beautifully cooked. No complaints. The one thing that spoilt the day was having to pay £4 to park the car. That is excessive. If having a meal only why not do what others do allow say £2 off the bill to compensate. I would not return again because of this charge. Many of my friends feel the same.

Great hotel, lovely deluxe double room on the ground floor. You could park your car just yards from the room so easy to inload/load your luggage. Staff were very friendly and attentive and food in the restaurant was delicious. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Location is good but beyond the Reception and Dining Room, bedrooms are tired and a little dirty (superficial cleaning only). Health suite was similar and the changing rooms were very tired. Expected more for the price we paid, however enjoyed walking into central Oxford from here. Staff were helpful and attentive.

£4 for every 2 hours of parking: hardly ideal if you were hoping to enjoy a lingering meal and a bottle of wine. Slow kitchen didn't help the situation either. However, the food when it arrived was very nice, and the little biscuit with the coffee was excellent.

This hotel is in a good position, walking distance from Oxford, near the river. However, many rooms were in need of updating including the bathrooms. The main reception and restaurant were smart and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and dining — good value and delicious. Friendly staff.

Stayed over night end of February '18. Wonderful hotel, neat and tidy. Very clean. Cleaners all said good morning when you walked past them in the corridors. Parking from March '18 is £7.50 per 24 hours for hotel guests so you'll need to add that to your stay.

Having stayed in hotels at New Year for the last 15 years I can say with certainty that this hotel offers the best value for money that we have experienced. We cannot fault it! Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful and friendly, whether serving food, in Reception or cleaning. We had a really fun time! Good food, entertainment and well organised events. Would recommend to others and stay again. Well done the Oxford Spires hotel.

The spa facilities are a little dated and there’s a few scuffs and knocks which could have easily been taken care of. Stefan was rushing around trying to serve the entire lounge on his own. Not easy to relax having the TV noise competing with the music, amongst the clashing doors around from Stefan doing his best. Broken handle on the toilet door, cheap Mitsubishi knock off of the Dyson hand dryer which was rubbish. Some guy in the bar thought it necessary to have a loud and obnoxious ring tone on his message alert and thus proceeded to continue a long conversation via text message… sure not the hotels fault but it didn’t exactly add to the ambience.

Stayed for a Christmas break very relaxing indeed. It's an easy walk to central Oxford or you can take bus from outside hotel. Only problem we had was the toilet wouldn't flush properly something that has happened at other top of the range hotels too. They need to have toilet cisterns checked/replaced yearly to avoid this problem.

Enjoyed our stay whilst in Oxford visiting Christmas markets. Some rooms are not refurbished and very dated, this is not clear from the website or booking through third parties. Make sure you check with the hotel when booking! We asked to be upgraded and they kindly moved us. View is of the room and the sunrise from our bedroom window.

I’ve stayed here several times for work Christmas parties. Every time I have been impressed with this hotel. Parking isn’t particularly close to reception, but if that is the only fault with this hotel it is a minor one at most. Check in and check out we’re both quick and efficient, accompanied by warm greetings from courteous and helpful staff. On my most recent visit (late November 2017) I stayed in a staff spacious double room which was clean, had the usual facilities and was comfortable and a good temperature. I enjoyed the bar here, filled with a wide selection of spirits and beers. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice between cooked breakfast or continental cuts. Overall I was really impressed with this hotel, and would happily come back.

Paid extra for deluxe room as worried about standard room reviews. Room nice but bath panel grubby, not deluxe standard. Wish the hotel could have 2 x double beds we have had at another Oxford hotel as didn't sleep well at all. Woken up earlier by guests as walls quite thin even though we were at the end of the corridor in a quiet room. Food really nice and the Love Sunday deal is fab, but very slow service at dinner and we nearly went back to room before desert as too tired. Things weren't explained well and I didn't get the free drinks voucher for being an Applause member. Also room was advertised as complimentary mini bar and chocolates. No chocolates at all and only one small 185ml wine, two cokes and water. We enjoyed our stay not sure the deluxe room was worth £30 extra.

Excellent corporate type hotel. Plenty of parking. Gave us a free upgrade to a posh room. Would have been 5 stars if breakfast wasn't a bit pricey.

Nice hotel. Exelent food. Reasonable choice of wine but very much over priced. Small workable Gym but most equipment is old technology and passed its best. They also need to learn how to make a proper pot of tea. 1 bag in a large pot is definitely not the way to go.

Good location about 15 minute walk into the city centre by road or Thames footpath. Very nice evening meal 3 courses about £26 but not a big menu. Hotel has plenty of free parking & you can probably park near your room due to the layout of the hotel.

I liked: Ample parking Closeness to Oxford city centre Well furnished room Comfortable bed Buffet lunch/ breakfast Not so keen: £4 for a coffee No flexibility on check in, room ready at 3pm Notes: Others in party were woken at 4.30am by people in room above walking about. Managed to bag a spot outside in the morning of arrival just before staff took cushions away fur cleaning. Other guests wanted to sit outside but couldn't as a result. Generally an ok stay.

Very overrated, I did not like it, difficult access to the rooms, bad state of the hotel in general and very expensive for what it is.

We had our wedding here on Saturday 9th September. The most amazing day can't fault the staff and the amazing service. Would highly recommend having yr wedding here Lisa was a brilliant wedding coordinator nothing was too much trouble. The wedding suite was amazing. The food was delicious and plenty of it. 5 stars just isn't enough Thank you to all the staff involved xx.

Fabulous food with a relaxing friendly atmosphere. 2nd visit to this hotel and they always deliver on what they promise. The Sunday special is extremely good value for money and the dinner served was 5stars… See you next time!

Loved it. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel is located in a very quite area too. You can walk doen to the river and several tourist attractions/city centre within walking distance. Would have preferred if there was a minibar available in the room.

Lovely stay in the dreaming spires. Expensive coffee shop with handful of cake variants. Surrounding area and location fantastic. Only let down is the car service they call for you. Not sure if their own drivers or subcontracted! Google a company yourselves.

Lovely hotel that has been renovated recently with friendly hard working staff. The only problem is that the renovation hasn't got to the bedrooms which are very tired looking. The staff in the restaurant are helpful but need some basic training. Nothing worse than a member of staff trying to take your plate away and you are still eating! I don't think I would stay again.

Attending a one day conference here, I only got to experience a small part of what this hotel offers its guests, but based on what I did see, I'd say this hotel deserves every one of the stars it's already been given by other reviewers, critics, rating bodies etc. The location on the southern outskirts of the city centre makes it convenient to reach by road whilst also being within easy walking distance of the railway station and various bus/coach stops. The hotel has ample free parking provided for guests and event attendees. The hotel itself is spread over a cluster of subtle buildings within its own private grounds, mostly all linked to one another via covered walkways. The conference room we were allocated was easily large enough to accommodat the 20-odd attendees plus hosts, with plenty of power points on hand for laptops and phones to be kept charged. Bottled water and bowls of mints were provided at each table, coffee/tea and cakes were also provided on arrival and at a couple of breaks during the day, and lunch was provided by the excellent on site restaurant.

My husband and I came for our 6th wedding anniversary here yesterday (Sunday to Monday). Our room was lovely, bed comfortable and very clean.
The food was amazing. We had a lovely cream tea on arrival, 3 course dinner in the evening and breakfast this morning. Allergies are catered for and lots of gf choice on the menu. The waitress was fab.
Had a nice swim in the pool and found the hotel very relaxing and the staff very helpful.
A short walk to Oxford centre.
Loved it and will come again.

Very clean and good service. Food was also excellent. Could do with a refresh, decor is boring and dated. Free Wi-Fi is abysmal, with patchy signal; when you find a spot that is covered, you're lucky to get 1mbps. Anoyingly, throughtout the hotel there is very bad mobile phone reception too. I great place to visit if you want zero interaction with the outside world.

Spent a day on a course here. Excellent food and service at lunch, good veggie options! The staff were very prompt to clear the tables. A great selection of teas in the breaks also.

Very good facilities, good food and an easily accessible bar. The room was spacious and well equipped with a great view. However, there was not much sound insulation between rooms.

Great location for walking into town along the river and leaving the car behind. Rooms are typically corporate but comfortable and you get 2 easy chairs rather then just the 1 as an afterthought as in some hotels. Breakfast buffet is reasonable as long as the food hasn't been standing too long. Stayed twice and enjoyed both times. If you can get a deal including b & b and an evening meal its fair value for money (e. G. Secret Escapes)

Great location, easy to get to off the a 34 and level 15 min walk to high street. Helpful staff and bright spacious rooms. Leisure centre good but avoid peak times as changing room is hutch size… Thoroughly recommend.

Very Beautiful Hotel with adequate parking. Service is great! Although we did found a hair on one of the side tables (nothing is 100% perfect) the rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy. The heating is sufficient and adjustable at the individual radiators. The bath towels have a bit of rubbery feel to them which makes one wonder what detergent are they washed/laundered with. Bottled Water should be provided in the room as there was none although plenty coffee, tea sachet (and only 1 hot chocolate satchet provided. Kettle had a bit of heavy lime scale in it though — but nothing bad. Coasters were missing for placing your coffee mugs down upon as all the furniture is wooden — had to use some of the brochures for this. Buffet breakfast was tasty. Scrambled eggs were cold though and the serving dishes weren't refilled with pork sausages and fried eggs when dishing from the buffet. Staff should pay attention before it runs out and refill timeously. I would definitely recommend in staying at this hotel though as the negative things mentioned above are quite minor and in general it is a really nice hotel. Bit on the expensive side but again it is a **** hotel.

The Oxford spires hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The rooms are light airy and spacious. Breakfast is the usual buffet a fair, although done to a reasonable level. On the whole I am struggling the find a negative comment, apart from the fact that if your holidaying in a city like Oxford then perhaps you expect something a little more quirky and English.

This hotel has been a disappointment on multiple occasions. They really need to invest in a few things considering the high prices they charge. Here are the issues: the rooms are bland, the beds are as hard as the floor, the internet speed is atrocious (93% of GB has faster internet according to a SpeedTest) some bathrooms are quite outdated as well. Needs some investment.

Booked in to stay for the Saturday night as I was attending a wedding in the town. At £220 a night I expected something special. I was in the Annex they call Eastwyk House. Ok the room was big but the bathroom was tiny. No bath just a shower. Breakfast was terrible. I would have expected freshly cooked food brought to my table but instead had to wander round trying to find the ingredients to make up my own meal. The eggs, under a hot lamp too long, were on the hard side. The bacon and sausage were obviously from Tesco's value range and had been out under the lights too long. There was a queue at the automatic toast making machine where people were having to put their bread through two or three times despite the thing being set to maximum. I asked where I was supposed to collect my coffee from and was told that it would be brought directly to my table — which it was 15 minutes later. Premier inns do breakfast this way but they are very good value for money. At £220 I considered my stay extortionately expensive, not pleasant and I would NEVER go back again.

Stayed here for a wedding nearby. Decent location and lovely grounds. The staff we dealt with were courteous but lacked knowledge and training. I had to make several calls to book a room and massage at the spa. Reception came across as bored when dealing with us. Room was big but basic and dated decor. Gym and leisure centre are nice. Sauna was v small and not a practical shape for more than 1 person. Steam room was fine but again dated. Pool looked nice though we didn't swim. Staff at the leisure centre were fantastic. Breakfast was average. You're better off skipping it and grabbing something in town. Drinks at the bar are reasonable in price. Overall fine but an expensive option for fine.

The hotel is very pleasant and pretty much what you would expect for the money. One word of warning to others, is to be wary of the bar operation. They offer you the most expensive option first of basically anything you order rather than giving a choice. In one instance, I ordered three brandy’s and asked for the cheapest having been offered from the top of the range downwards. I queried the price and was told that it was correct and that it was the hotel's charging policy. I later ordered more to find that I had not been charged for the cheapest option as originally requested. To be fair, after a lot of fuss, they did refund the overcharge. I wonder if this issue is also the hotel's charging policy?

Nothing liked, Apart from the view on leaving! Room poor, food poor, bar staff attitude poor, yet the price for what it was was more in line with good hotels to be honest you'd be better off in a travel lodge at a fraction of the cost.

DISASTER! On 30th June I booked an Eastwyke Connoisseur Room for the weekend of 18th-20th of July; described as, and I quote: Eastwyke Connoisseur rooms are larger superior rooms offering extra luxury with garden view and luxury bathrooms with a bath and shower. A wonderful room for a wonderful occasion, my 50th birthday and our anniversary. However on arrival what we were given the keys to was far from the luxury room we had booked, a small room up in rafters with no roll top bath, in fact no bath at all. Surely if there was a problem with the room or they had double booked, someone could have had the decency to have notified us prior to our arrival. We went back to reception and told them there had been a mistake. We were asked to wait in the lounge area, where we were offered drinks, while the problem would hopefully be resolved. We were then taken to another room, which was characterless and rather dark with no view and by no means anything like what we'd paid for and were expecting. We were offered £100 off, which doesn't sound too bad, but knowing how much cheaper that room was compared to the one booked, fell considerably short and added insult to injury. Although we were apologised to, we were never offered an explanation as to why our room was not available to us. We left considerably upset, although we had a complete refund our weekend had already been ruined.

Short walking distance to the centre of Oxford. Hot buffet breakfast is good. Rooms a bit tired.

Stew was inedible and after having commented on it, they did NOTHING.
