Absolutely filthy. Disgusting carpets with stains all over them. Crazy woman at the bar didn't want to serve us and slammed a diet coke down. The whole place stinks. I can't wait to get in the shower when I get home and wash my clothes. Absolute dump.

Good location either shopping sng beach easy access to train station nice wslking in a seaside early morning good for the childrens.

I have been a fan of Chef Richard at the Park Inn for some time, so I was thrilled to hear of the International Supper nights. It did not dissapoint! We were welcomed with a Jamaican Punch then appetisers & then a beautiful 3 course Jamaican Supper. The food was absolutely great! 3 courses full of flavour & beautifully presented. There was even a card on the table with interesting facts about Jamaica, which was a nice touch! The room was dressed in the colours of the flag & there was also a live steel drum band to add to the ambience. I'm definitely going to the next one & can highly recommend this innovative & fun night at the Park Inn, Southend. A big thank you to Chef Richard & his Team for this wonderful experience. Clayre.

Extremely helpful staff excellent service definitely stay here again they can help with any little issues.

Whilst we had a few issues with our room in terms of the facilities, our family room was large, spacious, clean and an incredible view out to the sea. Despite the issues the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful and honestly, the service provided by them was excellent. Particularly helpful to us during our stay was Callum at reception — he was understanding of our particular issues that may not have been an issue to some but were to us due to travelling with a young toddler. The manager on duty was also wonderful and sorted our issues out to our total satisfaction. Breakfast is well worth adding to your stay! We really liked the “children’s corner”
Real variety to suit everyone! We were there for a wedding and the wedding itself was wonderful and it seemed that it was what the bride and groom had wanted for their special day. The food was lovely and the staff were efficient in getting it out to us, including calmly and kindly dealing with children who decided they wanted something else instead and accommodating what they could.

The hotel is in need of a refurb but other than the old bed it was acceptable for a one night stay. Staff were friendly and we had a front facing room which made waking up pleasurable.

Very poor bar facilities, the hotel knew there was a function on but did not provide enough staff, queues were ridiculous. No draft beer on tap staff said they went to sainsburys to get bottled beer, then charged £26.20 for 4 bottles of beer, and a glass of wine. Previously served a spirit with mixer in a PLASTIC pint pot. Absolute joke and spoilt the evening.

Checked in on line as requested and told avoid the queues but still had to queue for 10 mins to check in in spite of telling staff I had already checked in. Booked a table for dinner on line with the offer of a free beer or wine, to be told in the restaurant they knew nothing about it. The food was OK but nothing special. Room was clean and very spacious although there was a balcony it had no table or chairs, the facilities all need a bit of an upgrade toilet roll holder was very loose and kept falling on the floor and no plug in the bathroom sink and handle on the key entry fire door missing with door left open, which was not only a safety hazard but also a security hazard. As a Raddison Hotel I was very disappointed and I’m not sure it even rates a 2 star let alone it’s current 3 star rating.

Staying here for the second time and never go wrong. Absolutely amazing place and spectecular view from the balcony.

Stains on the landing floor as if someone had spilt numerous drinks.
Cracked tiles on the bathroom floor.
Window wouldn’t shut properly causing a howling wind noise all night.
2 beds shoved together instead of a double bed. Creating sleepless nights.
People in and out of the hotel bar with no masks.
I had 2 steak dinners and both were cooked terribly.
Extremely over priced for the low quality hotel.
I had to wait to checkout because of the 2 people in front of me taking time to complain about the service.
When I did air my views I was told to stop exaggerating.
Personally I will go out of my way to make people realise just how bad this place was, using social media and review sites. People need to learn how bad this place is and avoid wasting money visiting.

The staff are all lovely but this hotel is very tired and in desperate need of a revamp. It’s like a hotel that Radisson have forgotten about.
The public areas (reception and bar) are very clean and tidy but beyond that it’s a hovel.
Shame really as it could be lovely.

Cleanliness was a problem… from floor 1 up is very tired and needs deep clean and renovating. Bathrooms very small.

Lovely place to stay, helpful friendly staff, food was ok, good central position for sea front and shops only slight downside was the parking opposite the hotel can get a little costly especially if you stay more than one night.

Won afternoon tea in a raffle. Went today with hubby. We had a lovely afternoon. Food was very good cakes were amazing. Staff very attentive. We will be back.

Sea view is brilliant. Large clean room. Huge bed. Everything you want. Very polite and helpful staff. Close to the shops, bars etc… can’t fault it and would definitely recommend.

The young Waitress named Morgan in the Breakfast room. She was so helpful to my Wife and I helping with our Teas and Breakfasts and carrying everything for us. We both depend on walking sticks and I have visual problems, so her assistance was so appreciated and she should be commended.

Unfortunately this Hotel doesn't meet XXI century standards. They have a very good location close to the beach and they think this is enough. Rooms looks like are from 1990. No wardrobe. Blocked sink. Broken hair dryer. Broken window. Dirty carpet. Etc But tasty food.

Awful service. Asked for an additional chair in the room and got told they were full which was a blatant lie as it was showing availability online! We arrived early for check in so stayed in the bar, nobody thought to come and ring through when the room was ready… as a Radisson Rewards member, I expected more. Bar staff completely messed up my food order … and no wardrobe in the room… just rails on the wall… again not what I expect from the Radisson chain… only good thing about this hotel? The location… would not recommend and will certainly not return!

The sea view room had a fantastic view and worth the extra cost, the rooms are starting to look tired and the 50 min wait for bar snacks not great but would stay again with a sea view.

I'm reviewing the restaurant. I've just had the worst meal ever. I didn't think anyone could ruin seabass but they did. I had to send my first plate back because they covered all the potatoes and vegetables in tomato sauce. It was terrible. When I got my second plate the fish was soggy and tastes funny. I'm not sure if the chef was having a bad day but I had to order sweet potato fries to stave off the hunger, however some of the fries weren't cooked properly. A total fail. I see from interviews that the breakfast won't be pleasant either. Well fingers crossed anyway.

I was impressed by the grandeur of the building and its great location Reception is smart but some staff can be impolite at the booking in stage. The room for the price was boxy and the bathroom reportedly had a non slip shower which upon getting in was true but once the soap and shampoo comes out it is a very different story. I suggest a sturdy grab rail would be in order. The sink was broken and had an unpleasant odour omitting from it. I think it is time for a refurb installing wet rooms with stone floors, new basins with hot taps that work and the toilets positioned not so close to the basin. Breakfast has a good choice of bacon, sausage, beans, scrambled eggs etc and a selection of cereal, cold meats and cheese. The view is lovely overlooking the pier and sea but I was very alarmed by the manager who loudly berated a poor cleaner in front of us and other guests. He was very angry with her for not cleaning a bowl properly and the anger was completely out of line as was the volume. Sadly my sister also heard the floor supervisor telling other staff they had to watch certain guests as they take tea bags up to their rooms! I am not sure if we will return but perhaps if there is a refurbishment and the staff are spoken to like humans we may well consider it.

The room was ok, clean and served it's purpose. The breakfast was a little odd. Buffet only, no choice of eggs — scrambled or boiled. An interesting sweet potato with garlic and red pepper. Unfortunately I didn't have it as lots of black mouldy bits. Doesn't have a car park only the use of public one opposite which added another 18.00 to our bill! So the overnight stay turned out a little pricey!

I had to upgrade from standard to family room because the standard rooms had no balconies. The family room costed me £150 without breakfast. The size of the room is just good for two people and the view is amazing as it overlooks the sea and the amusement park. The bathroom has bath, but not shower. In the room there is iron, TV coffee and tea area, safe, sofa and small table with two chairs to relax. The windows are big and a lot of light come into the room which I found particularly wonderful. There is no fridge though. I am rating it 3 stars just because I wouldn't expect when I pay that amount of money, to have broken bed leg, dirty sofa, stained carpet and as many spiderwebs all over the balcony.

Location was good. It was beside the beach and amusements but the hotel itself is very basic. The decor was ok but minimal. When picking a hotel I found this one on a website as a four star hotel when I went to stay I was disappointed with how much I paid for the 3 star hotel. It was expensive considering I attended in March when the outdoor amusement rides hadn't even opened and the weather was not warm enough to attend the beach. Off peak season prices should be reviewed and.

Have a week's stay here with a sea view room. Rooms are basic but neat clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and service is great.

Well established hotel with everything you would come to expect. Staff are also polite which always makes for a pleasant stay. Low score if because of the state of the hotel. Absolutely needs completely refurbishing. Carpets are dirty, there seems to be something wrong with every bathroom. Sometimes, the bedsheets and towels are dirty.

I went to a work function at the hotel where we had lunch, refreshments and used the function rooms on the first level. The lunch which was organised by the restaurant offered chicken curry, sandwiches, chicken wraps followed by mixed fruit and a banoffee pudding. The sandwiches were pretty much just bread and butter with the smallest amount of filling I have ever had, there was not enough banoffee pudding to go around and I just had fruit which was good quality. Also I was going to advise one of the staff that my water looked as though it has black specs at the bottom of the glass, at first I thought there were poppy seeds but after fishing them out it was like black mould. Looks as though the water dispenser needs cleaning out. For the coffee breaks there was not enough tea bags by the time we got there which I mentioned it to a mender of staff clearing some cups but she didn't seem to care. Considering the amount of people, there was only one place we all queued up to get tea and coffee which took forever to get. It didn't appear there was many staff at all to assist throughout the day. They could of suggested people to use the tea and coffee facilities in the main restaurant to assist in the demand. I was considering taking family and friends for an afternoon tea as the views are wonderful but the standard of the sandwiches, lack of staff and water has now put me off.

Stayed from the 19th-21st April. Friendly helpful staff and a lovely spacious clean room with a great view of the pier, beach and adventure island; there’s air con in the room too which was a nice bonus and the shower was easy to use and better than any other hotel I’ve stayed in. I’d recommend getting to breakfast early though as we got there a bit late (10am on a Saturday) and there was barely anything left and everything that was there had gone cold and it was all a bit messy from previous diners. The hotel bar is pretty expensive as well, but all in all really good and would come back again. Thank you.

Attend for a conference and stayed overnight. Facilities were good and the room was large and clean. Fantastic view if the pier and estuary.

Overall Southend was great but the hotel… not so great. Lack of facilities which can't be helped. The floor was covered in some bleach stain. When I went to the breakfast I had this very strange sarcastic comment by one of the Waitress's which was very bizarre. Just seemed a strange atmosphere.

I stay here when away on business mainly because it's convenient for the office and handy for the restaurants in the centre of town. The staff are friendly and always helpful but the hotel itself is a tired and shabby and in need of a complete overhaul — decorating, new carpets and curtains and new beds (to the same standard at the Premier Inn). The food isn't great, I still can't work out how they can spoil a traditional English breakfast, rubbery sausages, fatty bacon, and scrambled egg you serve by the slice. And as for the pepper and aubergine hash, what's that all about? I stay there for 1 or 2 nights if I get a good rate, otherwise I use the Premier Inn or the Holiday Inn at the airport.

Food was pretty good but some catering staff need refreshed training.
Everyone friendly so would return if ever in Southend again.
Breakfast finishes at 10-30 on a Sunday and food was getting sparse on our 10am arrival so it's best to arrive no later than an hour before closing.
The event was excellent and the performers chatted with us afterwards until after 1am.
All in all a very pleasant stay.

Good place to rest, nice and you have the casino just next door! Perfect for a getaway as well as one of the best locations towards the center and the sea.

Had a great stay at the hotel. The team are always very good. It is so central for everything in Southend.

A pleasant surprise as I stayed here after Holiday Inn lost my reservations and I enjoyed my visit. The room was large and comfortable, staff very friendly and pleasant and breakfast was good. The restaurant menu was very ordinary but then who ever eats dinner in a hotel. I will stay again.

Amazing contemporary interior inside a grand Victorian building. Friendly staff, Great location and a great view from the room. Breakfast service is good with a wide range of choices. Bar on the first floor is lively with some great food options. Coffee is also available at the bar. Some great historic photos are up and around the place including nods to the visit of Laurel and Hardy.

Fabulous staff, huge bedrooms, clean and comfortable beds, nothing too much trouble especially for breakfast manager Ana. Very efficient service all round. Couldn't really ask for more and a reasonable price, also amazing sea and pier view. All in all a brilliant package in a wonderful location and worthy of the Radisson name. Incidentally I am disabled and use a wheelchair sosometimes need a bit of help. Access ievel which is a bonus.

Pleasant and clean hotel right on the seafront and in the centre of town. Good sized hotel rooms and the view from the main bar is great! Breakfast was however pretty poor with a limited selection of food.

Our second stay at this Hotel, it's in a great location just a short walk from the beach, arcades and shops. Room is a decent size (our room was smaller then our first stays room but still a good size) all facilities are inot the room ready, iron, hair dryer and safe. Staff are lovely, all in all a good stay.

Here for a large scale function, which was run an catered ably for a reasonable fee. The facilities and amenities are good, and not having to pay extra for Internet was a rare advantage. My room was large, clean, well furnished and decorated, and was well priced as part of the function. The location is good, close to Southend Central Station, and the local attractions. The staff I've integrated with have all been perfectly nice.

We showed up for dinner on Saturday night without a booking. The guy working front desk still got us a table at the window overlooking the lights of the theme park etc. Food and drinks were really good although slightly overpriced for what the place was. Maybe if it had some booths to sit in or some better interior design going on it would be worth the price but it didn't quite feel like sitting in a luxury restaurant. (Food was really good though)

Good hotel, great location. Stayed a few times. Bar is comedy though — don't bother. First time I stayed the staff were that bad they kept undercharging for our drinks, this time we didn't get served at all — after 10 mins. I get the feeling they just employ youngsters and throw them on there. Not their fault, they just need some leadership and training.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and thought it was great. I have recently booked a sea view room and was quit disappointed. Firstly you are no longer allowed to go out side onto your balcony which is the whole reason I book a sea view room. Secondly we had two single beds put together to make up a double bed that was uncomfortable and thirdly we had no toilet roll on our bathroom. Not quit what you expect when your paying quite alot for the room. I am really disappointed this time round and don't think I will be staying here again to be honest the balcony is the only reason I pay these prices. I will be looking elsewhere to stay which is such a shame because the hotel it's self it nice but it's no longer worth the price.

Good hotel overlooking Southend pier. Rooms very pleasant and well appointed. Food is very good, but you need to order fried eggs at breakfast as they are not routinely served as part of the 'full English' breakfast buffet.

Very friendly welcome from receptionist Patricia, Clean comfy room with great sea view and fabulous shower. Good breakfast but could of done with someone on the desk to tell you where everything was.

The staff there were fantastic and very attentive. Nothing was too much and with a lovely smile. I highly recommend this place.

I went to view the hotel as a possible wedding venue. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Hotel is very tidy and clean and looks amazing.

A really great room for a very price. The hotel room was clean and spacious and the hotel staff polite and friendly. The only bad part of the stay was a fight breaking out at a neighbouring night club in the early hours. My advice would be to request a room away from the night club end.

Great hotel, food excellent and staff helpful and polite. Got a gym on 5th floor. Housekeeping at a good standard. Came back during my stay to find my window screwed shut! Why they decided to do this in the middle of my stay and not speak to me about it I don't know?

If you have children or dust allergy then please don't stay in Park Inn. I had booked a room for 3 days and 2 nights as this was my son's (6 months old) first vacation. We had changed the room and requested sea view for which we were told £25 extra (however while billing we were told it is £25 per night, which was never mentioned). My wife is allergic to dust and she kept on sneezing, luckily she was carrying her allergy spray. We had asked reception for housekeeping, the housekeeping staff was very rude, my son was hungry and needed a feed, so my wife went inside the room, the housekeeping staff used the dusting cloth to wipe the coffee try, we had to ask her to leave as she was banging things and cleaning. I had also paid for breakfast, we reached at 9:30am and breakfast timing was till 10:30 am, I was very disappointed with the spread. We had asked for fried eggs, we were served half fried eggs with oil floating on them. So asked them for full fried eggs, however the server came back saying I don't know where the chef went and when he will be back. Overall we were very disappointed, the location of the hotel is amazing, however it's not managed well.

My wife and I were treated so well by the excellent staff at this hotel. We had just returned from our honeymoon in the United States and were visiting friends in the area. The staff made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable and romantic, including rose petals on the bed. So kind and caring. Very good location, lovely room, excellent staff. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place… but room need more cleaning… spider webs around windows and dust under bed… all easy to take care… nice people and food too.

This place is absolutely appalling! Has very rude staff! Once arrived we went for a bite to eat in the restaurant, ordered nachos and well what can I say, how difficult is it to knock together a bowl of nachos with guacamole and sour cream with melted cheese and salsa, the first bowl came out with hardly any cheese, very dry nachos with no taste and no salsa that we had asked for and the guacamole and sour cream had been chucked on top and also had been put under the grill as had a film over them and had dried up, also no salsa at all! When spoke to waitress about it she argued with us that they hadn't been put under grill however you could clearly tell they had! Very bad customer service! We did not want anymore as did not taste very nice but she bought some more out anyway with the dips in seperate bowls to add ourself and the supposed salsa was actually chilli sauce so we decided to give up completely after this! We did not eat at all however still got charged for them! Very poor food and extremely bad customer service! The breakfast the next day lived up to expectations… DISGUSTING! Inedible! Also a member of staff walked into the kitchen and swore. Dry loudly for all to hear! Not very good practice at all! Would never waste my money again! Absolutely appalling! Complete waste of money! Couldn't be more disappointed!

Clean, friendly and pleasant hotel. Function space was ample for our needs as a party though was very hot and had no outdoor space except for standing by the front door. Toilets were clean and pleasant. Drinks were expensive and there was a poor selection of beers, with no ale, craft beers/bitters etc available.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff polite and helpful nothing was to much. Had a beautiful sea front view. Brilliant location. Will definitely stay there again.

Spacious room on 5th floor with great views. Looks like room had just been refurbished which was great. Had 2 course meal and glass of wine for £17.95. Good choice on menu and the Running Bear Rose was delicious. Can't fault hotel or staff. I'll definitely be back.

Nice hotel with a few good points. Did not stay the night, my friend invited me for a meal and we had a drink in the bar with a great view. I do use Park Inn and Radisson all over the world but it was the worse meal ever and the poor lady at the bar could not make a cocktail to save her life. Needs improvement in the quality of the food and more training…

First of all this didn't feel like a 3 star hotel at all. It's a beautiful old building, that has been renovated in a very modern style, but the upkeep has clearly been poor. It's in a good location, but even if you pay for a sea view, expect it to be obstructed by the balcony below. The breakfast buffet was done to a high standard but the waitresses taking orders for fresh omelettes, poached or fried eggs were less than attentive. There were stains on the floor in our room, towels not changed and not enough toilet paper — however the duty manager was very polite and accommodating when we made the complaint. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here, go for a little local B&B instead.

Very friendly and proffesional welcoming and warming bunch of staff. Made me and my family feel right at home, the hotel was very child friendly and safe. Cant wait to stay again. Ideal for familys, friends weekend away or stag and hen partys.

Lovely room, great location and friendly staff. Stay spoiled by lack of information RE parking arrangements resulting in a £22.50 parking fee and repeated issues with room access cards.

Spent night here with my fiance staff friendly on arrrival and room was impressive. But when going for a meal and dining for 2 for £35 I was expecting a good quality meal to find ive have microwave meals better than this is the past so wouldnt recommend the butter chicken with rice or salmon with noodles which we had and both tried. Also staff were a bit slow and had to approach them for menu drinks etc when it should be the other way around and one of them also stunk of bio which aint too good when his backwards and forwards with food and drink, apart from that decent stay with casino next door which is ideal and will defo be returning.

Room was nice clean and fairly spacious Good views overlooking NCP — but at least I could keep my eye on my car Restaurant and bar service friendly but had to approach them to order — expecting them to approach their customers would be better! Breakfast was disgusting. Appearance was basic. Buffet style. Choice basic. But when someone repeatedly coughs over the hot dishes and (no hand over the mouth) then again over the cereals — it puts you off eating. Plus the breakfast restaurant environment was cold and uninviting! Paid £9.50 for a breakfast I couldn't eat. I asked for scrambled eggs to be made for my but was very politely told there was some in the buffet…
