Closest Hotel to the Ferry Port. Great!

Large comfortable room, a bath — which is unusual. Comfy beds, very good value for money.

I had a delicious meal, the staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable, good value for money!

This hotel has just reopened after a refurbishment and it was lovely and clean. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was substantial. Our room was very nice and the bed, incredibly comfortable. Will definitely stay here again :)

Hotel is being renovated, so less rooms currently available. Not causing any issues for guests though. Fab friendly staff. Would happily stay again.

Lovely hotel but no air conditioning, visited in August and even though there was a fan in the room it was too hot to get much sleep.

An old hotel and starting to show, pretty much all that I was expecting from a premiere Inn. No air conditioning is a minus point. Slept OK bed comfy. Bathroom smelt really bad.

We stayed in the family room the night before taking the ferry to Holland. We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and the beds were really really comfortable! As advertised. Everything was very clean, worked as it should and the staff was very helpful and friendly. No noise from outside or other guests. The only downside would have been the temperature of the room — very hot. But maybe that's just not our personal preference. Of course it's conveniently close to the ferry terminal, making our trip back home just that little bit less stressful. We'll be coming back!

Standard fare, good value and much better than what you'd get on the Stena Line ferry to Holland.

Food is great, only they don't have many seats. Best to reserve a table and try to get one that is not near the doors. Can get real cold there in winter time with people holding open the door.

Generally very good. Coffee machine broken on the second morning and no idea how to cook scrambled eggs but otherwise no complaints.

Bloody brilliant!, best premier Inn we've stayed in, food was lovely an was freshly cooked, staff were great we were on the motorbike to get the ferry to holland, and coming home 3days later we stayed at the same hotel again, an exactly the same thing good food great staff, would totally recommended it,

We stayed overnight after a party. The room was comfortable, although a little dated compared to some other premier inns we've staff at. Staff were welcoming and provided necessary help on arrival. Good is available in adjacent premises, although we did not partake. The bed was comfortable, although some noisy guests woke us, so it was not up to the hall guarantee of a quiet sleep.

Good rooms, very tidy and clean. Nice restaurant attached to hotel. Good value for money. Close to transport links.

Can only talk about the bar area. Clean, as brisk a service as possible with the amount of people attending the establishment. Very polite and the food very good and excellent value.

Clean, comfortable and affordable. Close to the port, so very convenient for channel crossing. Morrison supermarket just opposite, so shopping for necessities is very easy.

The staff were lovely and attentive, and the food came promptly. The food tastes good but was possibly slightly overpriced for the portion sizes.

Went for a meal with my husband a few days before xmas. I ordered the sausage and Yorkshire meal. It arrived and I poured the gravy on and a lump fell onto my plate. There was a big lump of frozen gravy. I sent the meal back… they either microwaved it or put it under the hotplate when I got it back the Yorkshire was so hard I couldn't cut it. So sent meal back and ordered a different meal. By the time my meal arrived my husband had finished his. The price difference wasn't offered back as a refund (admittedly only about 50p). Very disappointed. My husband and I often go for a meal there. It wasn't even busy! I emailed customer complaints and as of yet no reply.

As per usual, what you would expect from a Premier Inn. Comfortable bed and room as expected. However I think the Harwich Premier Inn could be in line for a bit of a refurb. It is looking a little tired in places but for the cost of staying, you can't really argue with the quality of the room.

We stayed just so we could experience the santa breakfast. A wonderful time was had by All xxx.

Location is very convenient close to ferry. The Room is sufficient especially at the low rate we got. Bed is very small though and room needs modernizing.

Ok we have used this hotel for a number of years as stopping point before going over to Holland. I must say it has changed and not for the better. The rooms need to be upgraded as the Premier Inn's we have visited. The room both times was hot and uncomfortable upon walking into the room. We had to open the window, turn the fan on and go outside so the room could cool down. The menu was very boring. The one thing we wanted we could not get because the fryer was broken. It was broken when we came in to depart for Holland and a week later when we returned. Breakfast was great and the bed comfortable. I will stay there again but now that there seems to be more choices Dominos pizza is down the street and Costa Coffee.

The whole place was lovely. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room and it had everything you needed. My only complaint is the room was very very warm and it was difficult to sleep. There was a fan which helped a little but it was still warm. I would stay here again but would probably leave the window open all the time. The pub next door was good for food if you wanted cheap and cheerful.

Friendly staff. Large car park. Plenty of shops including supermarket next door. Handy for ferry port. Rooms clean and of good size.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We spent there a night with our friends and their 2 kids. We rented 2 rooms, both of them was dirty and it didn't smell nice either. There was mold around the whole floor in the bathroom also we couldn't take a shower because it was getting there as well. That's not even all of our bad experience, also we couldn't drink anything because the mugs was dirty and full of dust, towels that they gave us was dirty and there was a hair in the bath which was actually making us feel sick. We have called reception when the woman came she agreed with our complains because she has seen it herself. We have been told that as a recompensation we will get a free breakfast that we actually paid for because at the end they charged us £260 for rooms and £36 separetly for breakfast. We are really unhappy with the way we was treated in there.

Premier Inn was perfect for what we needed and some of the best service I've experienced unprompted at the service desk. Restaurant next door is not so good though. Good service but terrible food. Cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for.

A wonderful place to stay. Always clean and tidy. Staff always helpful and friendly. Prices are affordable.

Fairly standard hotel. I'd recommend not having room 2 though as you get to hear the hand dryers in the adjacent restaurant toilet going fairly regularly. Had a really friendly greeting upon arrival though.

Location is good to the ferry to come. Even walking not 20 minutes. Room ok and mostly clean. Beds good, but not as good as one would think due to the advertising. Service very good.
All in all a decent room if you want to port the next day.

Didn't have the promised good night sleep due to location of room next to lift and a generator buzzing. Also bed was very creaky and not due to naughties! Not the best view either due to car park being like a fly tip. Had bad night due to child being upset by large, red fire alarms in room and bathroom that would flash if they were to go off but I know that's not Premier Inn fault. Room was comfortable, large and clean. Welcoming staff. Enough towels and free shower gel. Much superior to travelogue I felt. Overall I would use again.

The breakfasts used to be fantastic and myself and family used to visit frequently. However after our last visit my partner and I go food poisoning. The breakfast was they only meal we had eaten that was the same for 2 days as we were both working doing different shifts. So it was obviously the breakfast we had both eaten that morning. We complained directly and was given a £20 voucher to put towards our next meal! The voucher promptly went in the bin.

Everything I'd expect from a premier, polite service, nice room, bed and clean bathroom. Sirloin steak at Marston's was very good.

The room was great, but the kitchen couldn't cook a boiled egg to save their life.

If you're travelling to the Hook of Holland with Stena and need a place to stay the night before, the Harwich Premier Inn is well placed. As is typical with a Premier Inn you get a clean, comfortable room, a quick check in and an on site restaurant that also provides breakfast in the morning. I wouldn't necessarily choose this particular Inn if I was wanting to stay for a holiday in the area as there are probably more scenic locations but for ferry travel this was perfect. There's even a Lidl right next door that is open to 8pm in case you need any last minute supplies, a cheeky set of shelves or an air compressor. The room was fine although the beds were a bit on the hard side especially the kid's pull out beds that featured in our family room. This is unfortunately common to most Premier Inn and whilst getting them to change all of their pull out beds is not economically viable the addition of a mattress topper to soften it up would benefit. Also for some reason our room didn't have fully functioning air con. Instead we had a large fan which whilst fairly effective (thank God we weren't in a heat wave) was very noisy. Apart from that all was good. One word of advice about staying at this particular Premier Inn, because it's really aimed solely at ferry passengers (like us) using it as a staging post before embarking it does get very busy in the evening.

Very good and convenient for Harwich Ferry to Hook of Holland, saved travelling early to catch the 0900hr ferry.
