The staff were extremely polite and were always in attendance. The room we were in was beautiful. The food was excellent. The entire afternoon was superb.

The hotel was nice, the food was lovely but the night porter kept knocking on our door & asking us to lower the noise, fine, but we were all asleep. He was the one waking us up!

Very nice hotel but oh my god the noise that comes into the bedrooms if there is a wedding at the venue is unbelievable. We were warned but sleep was not an option until the function finished.

Lovely place, very friendly and couldn't do enough for u but felt afternoon tea was expensive for what it was.

My daughters treated me to a day at the Reflections Spa and I loved it. The weather was perfect and we sat outside by the outdoor pool. There was also a jacuzzi outside but if the weather wasn’t good there is also an indoor pool and jacuzzi along with steam room and sauna. There was no pressure to have any other treatments which are carried out in a separate building just a day of total relaxation in the sun and with the beautiful pool I could easily convince myself I was on holiday. Shower facilities were also clean and well maintained. Towels are not provided though which you obviously need to know before your visit.

Had afternoon tea here lovely hotel. Beautiful grounds cakes where great, sandwiches okay going a little hard the bread but all edible and enjoyable 2nd time here and would go again.

A good hotel outside the Sandon/Gt Baddow area. We used it as a place to sleep while visiting relatives out of season and it was delightful. The staff are very polite and understanding, rearranged one booking with no issues. The breakfast included was good but nothing special. The executive room was also the same affair you'd expect from a normal double, just with more room which felt a little oversold as well as the room looking quite dated. However, the view was good. I would definitely come back here for a future stay.

Went for the wedding fair. Was a bit small but felt very personal. Absolutely brilliant staff. Accessibility is catered for but does need discussing as ramps need to be put in place. But nothing is to hard for the staff here. Great cup of coffee.

A Surprise spontaneous restaurant booking to celebrate 15 years of marriage conducted in the same building Our food and service was amazing, so lovely to be greeted as we walked in to be seated in the lounge bar area. We were given our drinks with nibbles and the menus to peruse before being led through to the restaurant. Our drinks were swiftly taken through ahead of us. Midweek, so ample choice of seating in the beautiful room. We both had starters and main, no room for dessert, we will HAVE to visit again to try that. I managed to take pics of our starters but we both literally inhaled our mains, the Chef is so talented. Thank you ALL.

A very comfortable hotel, I was lucky enough to have a huge and well equipped room.
The next morning the breakfast was excellent.

Treated to Sunday carvery for Mothers Day, food, presentation and staff all excellent. Its just s shame its a carvery, I find meals become disjointed with people wandering backwards and forwards past you, parents collecting their childrens meals and then going back to get their own whilst the remaining party wait for everyone to be seated again. Its a small restaurant and I think it would be so much nicer if meals were brought to the table by the waiting staff.

Great hotel on the outskirts of Chelmsford in Great Baddow. Family run and probably the best around for miles. Used often for weddings. Booking early for a hen do is a must. Has Acacia Beauty Rooms on site, this another professional place for therapy that has been there for a long time. Always call hotel and beauty rooms to discuss your needs and so not to be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Excellent afternoon tea in the cosy lounge area. Fresh cakes, scones and sandwiches with very attentive staff. Recommend!

Went for carvery with some friends. Food was excellent and the chef went out of his way to accommodate my dairy free friend. Definitely booking to go again!

The rooms are spacious and good value. The food is amazing and I would recommend eating here in the evening too. All the staff make you feel welcome.

Christmas dinner with work colleagues, superb meal excellent service throughout and great disco. Would recommend highly.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Pontlands Park Hotel. The service was fantastic, everyone greeted me with a warm smile. The afternoon tea is delicious, very filling. The buffet style breakfast was also very good. It's located in a beautiful area, surrounded by trees, fields and a pond. The room I stayed in was large and spacious, the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely return here and recommend to others.

Friendly, attentive service without it ever becoming overbearing, high quality and well presented food, in a pleasant setting. Its location also makes it convenient both for Chelmsford residents and, via the nearby A12, the wider area. Recommended.

Wasn't aware of Pontlands before our stay on Friday. We were with a funeral party and we were cared for beautifully. Everything was taken care of. Very efficient unobtrusive professional staff. Our rooms were extremely nice, with good quality furnishings. Its certainly a place I would revisit and fully recommend.

Good quality hotel and comfortable rooms, however I feel the bar/food service has slipped a little this year, some really good staff moved on and it seems that the replacements are not as attentive to the guests.

Staff are fantastic very attentive and make you feel like a wanted guest, we had dinner at the restaurant and the food is first class. A rare delight is the satff ask if you are enjoying you food when you don't have a mouth full of food! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

We went to the hotel for a family wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, we had a carvery, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel facilities were very stylish and clean and the outside area was great for kids in the sun.

I was there for a 3 day training course, the hotel decor was nice and clean. The waiting staff who set up the teas and coffees and lunch were very helpful, polite and friendly. However the reception staff were not helpful at all.
On the first day I asked reception for more water, her response was it's not my job ask the bar, and she said this in front of a guest checking in. Considering reception is the first point of contact, not helpful at all and not once did I see any of them greet or smile any customers who came in to the hotel.

I attended a wedding reception at Pontlands Park. It all went without a hitch — well — one of them! It's a great venue with fantastic staff. It's a wonderful place, I can't recommend it enough!

Great staff, very accommodating and happy to help. Made a strawberry daiquiri at half 1 this morning! Beautiful setting, very peaceful and calming. Delicious breakfast and the service was very good. Well recommended.

Ideally located if you want peace and quiet, it's a 10 minute drive from the centre of Chelmsford and the train station. I was here for a business networking event and was pleased to see that the staff seemed fairly chipper even at 7am. A cooked breakfast was provided with the food being nice enough without being exceptional.

Lovely room, clean and the bed is fantastic… so so so comfy. The restaurant is not the best, our duck was under cooked and my partner found a piece of hair in it but we got a complimentary drink. If you stay you use the pool, jaccuzi and the sauna for free. Overall we had a brilliant stay.

High grade hotel. Comfy beds, spacious rooms, very good food, lovely set up. Shame the pool area shuts at 6 every day.
