A really lovely hotel on seafront. Friendly helpful staff. Our room was a deluxe double and very spacious. Coffee and tea facilities but could do with a little more milks and sachets. Highly recommend this hotel for a getaway.

Wow, we’ve had a fantastic stay! Our room was spacious, airconditioned, perfectly clean with a massive bed and enormous tv. Breakfast is a feast — definitely a marathon, not a sprint! The staff have all been exceptional and we would like to mention specifically Dayron in the restaurant, Paola at the bbq who arranged a lovely birthday surprise for my wife and Helen, the Sales Manager who mentioned the fireworks on Friday night and organised us a table with a super view. Everyone here gives the very best service. Our dinner in Brasserie Blanc was fantastic and absolutely delicious. We didn’t mention that my wife is 73 with a disability and so our room was a bit far to get to and even though the hotel is right on the clifftop overlooking the sea, for her it was actually quite difficult to get down to the seafront and back up again. The lift on the beach only operates within limited hours. Luckily the lifts in the hotel were always quick and available. A small improvement to the room would have been a pair of arm chairs — there is enough space but only the bed and one uncomfortable chair to sit on. We would definitely recommend this hotel for its staff, location and amenities!

Everything about this hotel is relaxing the staff make you feel welcome the rooms are clean and changed your towels every day and in a lovely location overlooking the sea fantastic visit and would come back again.

Enjoyed our dinner last night. Service was outstanding! Will be back soon!

Helpful, friendly staff in the bar.

This was a one night stay. Check in was easy. Staff very professional and helpful. The room was clean and nice. Bathroom was a bit dated and tap water wouldn’t run cold. We enjoyed a nice drink in the bar area. Bed was comfortable. Next day breakfast was great. Nice to have a later checkout time of 12, unlike other hotels that have an earlier check out. Good location really close to beach and town centre. Lovely views out to sea. Easy parking on site. A perfect stay as always with Marriott.

Very disappointed by our recent stay at the Marriott Highcliff. This is not the Marriott brand we expected especially given the price tag! Very creaky floorboards so could hear when guests in the room above were walking around. We could also hear the elevator during the night ringing out loud with a warning message every night. The rooms were good size but smelled foisty. We had to leave the wardrobe open as the smell was particularly bad in one of them. The breakfasts were very basic with little choice and we even had to pay extra for a latte! Quite surprised to see supermarket own branded cereal rather than the original. We were provided two bottles of water on the first night only (staying 4) despite us being a family if 4 and only three bath towels! Not sure we will be staying at any Marriott again given this experience. The only two good points I can highlight are location and dinner in the restaurant was lovely, neither of which were enough to compensate for all the disappointments.

We’ve stayed to this hotel for 3 nights for which we’ve paid £1, 150. Beside that, the hotel charged us a £150 as deposit for additional services. The location is amazing, BUT…
1. The windows don’t open. The “sea view” means only staring at the window. You can’t hear the sea, you can smell the sea breeze. It might as well be a TV with a video of the sea instead of that window. Lacking balcony, there’s nowhere to dry the beach towels or the swimming suits.
2. We had to sleep with the aircon on, which made me cough because I’m allergic to aircon
3. The breakfast offered very little choice. I wanted some cheese and fruits, but they none were available. So we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel at all, even though we’ve paid for it
4. We had dinner at the hotel only in the first evening, because the food was burnt and tasted bitter.
5. In the bathroom we only had a single tiny tube of shower gel for 2 people, 3 nights. It was never replaced by the hotel staff
6. We were allowed to use the swimming pool only with booking and for only 1 hour.
7. One afternoon we’ve requested room service, but we were told that room service is only available after 6 PM.
8. The minibar had only 2 small still water bottles in it. Nothing else.
For the services offered by this hotel, we’ve paid way too much.

Unorganized. No air con in room. Had to wait 1 hour for breakfast. One of the manager in restaurant very rude. Told us we had to move because he needed table for evening meal. No bar to sit in. Overall I wouldn't come back here.

Staff so lackadaisical. Having a drink outside to be told we will have to move as they want our table for diners. This was at 6pm and then he had the audacity to say come back at 10 pm it will be finished then. “This is the area of the bar and restaurant, It is nothing to do with Marriott hotel, I say what happens here” was the reply I got from the manager.

Absolutely stunning sea views from our room window. Very spacious room and comfortable bed. Tasty food and drinks. Very polite and helpful staff. Good atmosphere.
However, there was no guarantee that we would have parking space for our car, and when we did, we had to pay for it. In all my years staying in different hotels around the world, this is the first time I had to pay for car park in hotel… : — (

Excellent food and service, nice ambience in the main room, the other to the right seemed very noisy, with sound reflecting and I did ask to move into the other room. It was no problem for the staff and much better.
Tables could be bigger, but for the quality and Sunday lunch pricing, it must be hard to beat. My meal was top notch and I will be back.

Lovely hotel and have stayed several times however I am very disappointed that they have closed the pool and spa facilities!

Just come back from a three night break, it was good great place to feel secure with a 2 year old. Wish the rooms were updated ours 213 was out dated old and not much space for a roll out bed and another bed and very noisy when the 4am delivery’s came. But overall good food and drinks.

Spacious rooms and a great view. We had a room for people with less mobility which was great.

Excellent really. Breakfast not particularly exciting, nor good value, other food good. Charcuterie as a small plate meal for two is too tiny, not enough by or two and not good value re meat content. Otherwise a good place to stay. Nice outdoor space facing the sea. Some of our party had no hot water but the hotel tried its best we understand.

I won’t be returning here! We booked a room for two nights for our one year wedding anniversary and for £265 a night I expected a lot more. Our room was tiny with a view of the roof, the paint work and carpets were tatty and I found crisps and sweets under the bed our room wasn’t very clean. There was nowhere to park and then found out it was £12 a night extra to park at the hotel. Staff were unhelpful and a little rude at times to us. The bar hadn’t had the delivery so didn’t have any wine I liked. It’s lucky the sun was shining so we could spend our time outside the hotel. Iv stayed in cheap b&b that are much better! Put a bit of a damper on our weekend as it was suppose to be a special treat, but I’ll give it a 2star as the food was good and the outdoor pool area was nice.

Had a Spa day here on sat 5th Aug. The facilities are lovely. Every member of staff was pleasant and friendly. The back neck shoulder massage was very good. Had a nice lunch in the restaurant. As it was a lovely sunny day made use of the outdoor pool — however a very large group made so much noise that we (as a group of 4) had to leave! Such a shame but they simply had no consideration for anyone else by the Pool. The two youngsters working the bar proabably didnt see any issue — I guess. I was aware of alot of people not happy about it!

The resteraunt here is well worth a visit. The rooms are unfortunately in desperate need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom. Housekeeping are very slack… we found 1/2 finished tube of Clarins body lotion on the desktop, I'm fairly sure thus was not complimentary from the management. Windows looked out on the sea but we're so dirty you couldn't see much sea. There are safes in the room but you need it in the cottages because they seem very vulnerable. Bar area was nice, but again windows were filthy.

Well I visited this venue and met with the events manager as I was looking at a place to host my mothers wake. She showed us around the venue along with a room (which must of been the best room in the hotel) and all seemed great. I was happy with what they were offering and we agreed on a deal. I was not only using the venue for the wake I also booked 11 bedrooms. I received the contract and the price had jumped up £700 without any warning. I called up and they offered me £200 off and put it down to a communication error. As you can imagine the circumstances of the event left me little time to change venue so I had to pay it. It was like they used the circumstances to rip me off. Little did I know them conning me out of an extra £500 was the best part of the whole experience — we arrived on the day after the funeral to no bar in our venue, well there was a bar but no alcohol or money in the till. After 45 minutes they seemed to almost fix the problem (the beer taps didn't work at all) for me then to be told they had made a mistake in the ordering of the food and they had missed 50 portions of my order out. They fixed this after some time and compensated us with 9 bottles of cheap wine. The venue events actually caused the wake to be split into 2 venues because of the lack of service and lack of supplies. The bar fridge was empty when we arrived and run out soon, people left the venue and went and did there own things due to how poorly it had all been setup.

I would have given 4 star's but OK is 3 so that's what the hotel will get. I'd have been happy to pay £150 but at £204 I feel the stay was less than I'd have liked it to be for the price. Checking in: a little slow given the process

Beautiful hotel in the most perfect location overlooking the sea. Our junior suite was fantastic! It was spacious and immaculate with a panoramic view of the beach and sea through the three windows in the main room. Only issue with the suite is that it was only set up for two people when we had booked for 3 but this was very promptly resolved after a quick call on the telephone down to reception. We took advantage of all the facilities, indoor pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool was the best with sun loungers all around the pool with a great view of the sea! I wish the outdoor bar was open but it was a Monday morning so I can understand why it wasn’t! I can’t wait to come back for longer!

Great service and amazing breakfast with a breathtaking view. The spa was a bit run down but the sauna was hot enough for a Scandinavian so well worth visiting. Our room was not impressive but nothing wrong with it. The beds were hard and springy.

Quite an old hotel, with uneven floors and not so fantastically maintained rooms, but the view is just unbelievable. The hotel comprises of at least two different buildings. It took as a few days to figure out that there was an connecting floor that didn't force you to walk through the rain to get to the other building. The ran out of (one type of) beer for 2 consecutive days. Come on! what is this? a colony? :-)

Excellent hotel. Improved since bar refurb. Nice choice of beers and really nice food. People who complain about a lack of bathrobes need to have word with themselves.

The location is amazing because of the view by the sea. The hotel is a luxury one and the restaurant bar is sophisticated and exclusive. The drinks are absolutely spot on.

We were supposed to stay two nights but left after the first night. Where do I start? First we were given the smallest room that faced a brick wall. We expected a little more empathy considering we travelled with our 10 month old baby. After complaining about the room size they arranged a much bigger room for us. Funny how they try and pile you off first, hoping you will keep quiet. Why not think and be considerable in the first place? Next was the interior. Furniture that seemed to be from the eighties… used up and old looking with the most uncomfortable bed I lied in. I spotted hair in the bathroom that wasn’t coming from us, everything seemed dirty in the room. The floors were so quweaky you could hear everything from above and below. We then decided to order room service, my god! The worst meal ever, a handful burned frozen chips with a burned burger in an old bun. It was disgusting and cost us 40£. Nothing about this place is good apart from the location. It was an appalling experience, never again! We were hoping to have a relaxed experience unfortunately came home being stressed and tired, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Some of the best views in Bournemouth! Some rustic charm hidden into a contemporary hotel not so hidden on the highest cliff just a two minute walk from the beach. Staff were very helpful, accommodating and all around friendly. Highly recommend and we will return! Thank you for a great weekend.

Excellent hotel with good facilities. Restaurant and bar are Raymond Blanc franchises and the prices reflect this fact. Comfortable bed in our room in the separate cottage, I can't speak for the main hotel but my son-in-law says the rooms are fine, he stays there regularly.

A real treat. Nice hotel, fantastic friendly, attentive staff, great food, overlooks the sea from the cliff too right next to town centre gardens and pier. Fantastic.

Romantic setting on the cliff overlooking the Bournemouth peer, good restaurant and bar with views, has excellent gym facilities with both indoor and outdoor pooled tennis courts etc. Parking is good and free for cliental.

A very dated looking hotel. The drive up to the hotel and the loby are of a good standard but once you go any where else you are see dated orange wall paper and orange carpet. The rooms decor looks dated with the same orange theme. They do have really nice wide scream TV's ultra slim in the rooms and the rooms are very spacious. They have very good views of the sea front.

Attended a Christmas party here. The venue is great, staff were brilliant, the food wasn't the best but I had a fantastic time regardless. I bet it looks amazing in summer, overlooking the pier.

Not to be trusted. Their vendor crashed into my parked car early in the morning while I was sleeping. It was all on CCTV. The Hotel has done nothing, the vendor won't pay (driver left the brake off and it rolled into the rental). If they won't help platinum members, then you know you are not valued as a customer. Stay somewhere else where your belongings are secure. I posted this on Tripadvisor too. They responded "sorry" and that they would help. They had the opportunity before and they didn't. And they haven't since.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast spread was splendid and both tea and coffee were good (not the burnt acrid grounds so often offered). The views from my room were absolutely stunning. Bits of the decor were a little dated, but they seem to be in the middle of a refurb, so even that should be perfect soon too.

Having something to eat here and the food and service is very poor. Child given food a long time before us and we were told that it is the way things are done here in England! Pasta came out under cooked and was told this is because it is fresh… Very poor reception service also.

Perfect location right on the beach! Hotel room was very spacious clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good, wide selection of hot meals, pastry and so on. 5

Lovely hotel with great views over Bournemouth pier and the coast. A bit dated but undergoing a lot of renovation, which can be a pain. Customer service wasn't great on our last visit but this was an exception, normally it's been great. Awesome location for the town, beach and cliff walks.

The Marriott hotel is in a prime location in Bournemouth, on the clifftop overlooking the sea so you expect some nice views! (Weather permitting of course). All the staff I spoke to were really friendly, they had some really spacious rooms and lovely suites. Overall was a very pleasant experience.

We have just returned home after a lovely stay whilst the air show was on over the beach. We had only booked 1 night but enjoyed the air show and the hotel location and the sunshine so we decided to stay for another night as our two rooms were available. We had a sea view in rooms 123 and 124 adjoining rooms on the 1st floor which cost us £60 a night plus 140, 000 points. Although the children's twin room was only a partial sea view, we had the sea view in our room and a massive comfortable bed. We decided to stay in the hotel instead of joining the crowds on the beach for the airshow on the 2nd day and spent the whole day relaxing around the outdoor pool so our children could play whilst we sunbathed and watched the red arrows — perfect location and perfect weather. Breakfast and parking was complimentary as we have platinum membership and we managed to find a space down by the wings/cottages down the ramp. Breakfast was lovely, although we were seated in the larger back room used for events, but the 2nd day we were seated in the main area which was much nicer. In the evening we relaxed on the terrace under heated umbrellas and were provided with blankets to keep us warm whilst we had a drink before watching the fireworks from the pier. Great service from the staff, and great locations for amazing views. The car park is small and limited and we were very lucky to get a space and have parking for free for 3 days.

Amazing sea view if book that room. Comfy and practical rooms. Very easy to access beach (wheelchairs included). Good service and lovely restaurant. Very welcoming.

I love it here the food is absolutely amazing staffs is very friendly and the rooms are good. It's nice to have a meal looking over the sea also you can eat outside or inside it is table service I would recommend going there.

The cleanliness in room not high standard. Also my partner had a meal in the Raymond Blanc restaurant in hotel, poor quality. Not the correct steak ordered.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Spa treatments were very good with a lovely masseuse. Gym is small, but not busy. One of the male shower was out of order.

The hotel was great even in a building over 110 years old. Two issues they could improve, occupied rooms should really be serviced in the morning not by 4pm in the afternoon and secondly, the reception staff are overworked and understaffed, new guests shouldn't wait 10 minutes or more in a queue along with existing guests. Overall very happy and will probably come again.

Good venue for meetings. Variety of meeting rooms available. Parking, coffee etc can be arranged. All in a pleasant easy to find clifftop location.

Leisure facilities were fantastic but the service at the hotel left much to be desired. Hotel is dated and needs a bit of general tlc both inside and out. Considering the cost per night, I was very disappointed with the service I received. Great view of the sea though and the central location is also perfect when on holiday.

Great location. Nice newly decorated bar and breakfast area. Bar reasonably priced. Good pressure and heat in the showers, breakfast was lovely and big TVs in room. However, all of the above was let down by the Dorchester Wing rooms where we were placed. The rooms were above the Thai restaurant, so the First thing u notice when u walked in was the smell of cooking fat and drains. The rooms were small and dated and the only view from the rooms was roof tops and brick walls. The bathroom had 1970s Lino and wasn't tiled. The pillows were useless. The outdoor pool area whilst a nice touch is also dated and in need of modernisation. The location is screaming out for an infinity pool. We couldn't park. All of the above taken into consideration we feel robbed for what we paid. We booked deluxe rooms and they certainly were far from it. @Marriott.

My wife and I used the spa and gym facilities. All pretty standard, very pleasant staff; an enjoyable few hours.

Fantastic Spa but very disappointing afternoon tea. We had an afternoon spa with treatments booked and it was lovely, very relaxing. HOWEVER the afternoon tea we booked for afterwards didn't happen! After being shown to a table with a menu we were then ignored for 20 minutes, no drinks offered, no one wanted to take our order. 3 staff in the bar area clearly had better things to do in a half empty bar. A polite E-mail to the Hotel asking for their views has been read and completely ignored. I expected better from such a great hotel!

Visited the hotel as part of a group. It was a very disappointing experience, as it was obvious that they had no intention of looking after us. Apart from the partially laid table, the food was the main source of contention. The main meal was very small and rather unappetising but it was the vegetarian option which earned the single star review. The vegetarian meal consisted of four pieces of gnocci and some broccoli surrouned by jus! When we initially complained, they added another small bowl of over cooked grey broccoli. Poor show.

Stayed for 2 nights in room 230, no chest of drawers?. Next morning had to queue for breakfast and when we eventually sat down to eat it, being self service, it was all cold. Definitely not good enough for a hotel of this kind. Sorry but only 1 star. The lowly Templestowe hotel in Torquay gives excellent WAITER service for ALL meals.

Had a wonderful weekend break from 17th to 20th October, excellent accommodation, staff so helpful and attentive, 1st class service, good food, probably one of the best weekend breaks we have ever had. Thankyou.

We stayed for one evening in one of their Cottages and everything was perfect. We enjoyed dinner, room service and breakfast was lovely. Would definatley stay again.

Was at this hotel for a friends wedding reception and can honestly say would never go there again! The bar products and service are a joke, only 1 cheap disgusting wine on offer, Pint of becks was cloudy and tasted off, had stella instead which also tasted strange so was offered a bottle beer. Not just ourselves but lots of guests were commenting on the shocking drinks and prices. Yes not only was the beer off and I wonder if these were the authentic beers anyway, but the prices were £5 per drink! Nice to rip people off with overpriced off drinks and will be reporting the hotel to EHO and trading standards to check their cellars.

Stayed at hotel for 2 nights was eating in restarant and needed toilet as went down stairs to toilets found a family of cockroaches running about when I told a member of staff behind bar they shrugged it off and said its an old building what do you expect. Also found internet problems could not connect I paid 15 pound for 24 hours and managed to get about an hour out of it. Room was ok apart from bathroon tile grout on floors nearly all gone and urine stained around toilet paint work tatty and floor boards above creaked like crazy. Needed extra towel spoke to a maid who looked at me like I was crazy then proceeded to say I dont understand sorry absolute madness. Toilet blocked maintenence guy turned up very quickly solved the problem was very good mannerd and very polite to whom I gave a small tip to for his excellent service and mannerism thanks daniel I think his name was anyway if not sorry but thanks anyway. Will not be staying here again will be finding alternative accomodation in future visits.
