Booked a room for 3 adults (double bed and a pull out bed). On arrival there was only only a double bed only 2 mugs and only enough coffee and milk for 2 people so obviously the room had been made up as a double just for 2 people. When querying it the lady at reception promised to make the room up as a triple. When we next went into the room there was an extra bed but still only 2 mugs and still only enough coffee and milk for 2 people. I queried this again and the rude lady at reception huffed and reluctantly gave me a third mug saying the rooms usually do only have 2 mugs. She then refused to give me any more coffee or milk saying that housekeeping always give enough and they never make a mistake. (even though we were 3 and the room had been made up only for 2 people). Never again.

Paid for room for 3 on arrival just the 1 bouble bed, no shower gel, no tea on arrival as advertised, no mug for our student son so my wife asked and receptionist attempted to rectify only to be ridley over ruled by another staff member, apparently 300 ml of water, 4 sachets of milk, and coffee is enough, we'll situated, nicley decorated hotel let down by non existant customer service, also sounds as if advertised breakfast will be a continental breakfast, so a cafe on the way to the University it will be AVOID AT ALL COST.

I would highly recommend for Conference's, everything needed was supplied, great choice of hot drinks and snacks, fabulous lunch, best Potato and Leek Soup ever, didn't stay over but would think the Rooms would be great, if the parts of the Hotel I saw was anything to go buy.

Lovely hotel, plenty of parking for people staying at the hotel or coming for some food, I’ve stayed here just under 3 weeks on business (2 weeks left) and I am impressed by how quick and easy the check in process is, The hallways/carpets are immaculately clean, the rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is completely beautiful, you have a large HDTV in every room, the main area is exceptionally clean and the restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices along with their specials that they change every few days, I would highly recommend either staying here or coming in for a bite to eat, the customer service here is amazing as they always make you feel welcomed and help you the best they can. The hotel also has 3 conference rooms that you can hire with unlimited coffee, tea etc. The breakfasts are all you can eat (depending if your booking includes this) the breakfast selection is huge, you have fry up items, cereals and pastries, porridge etc. This place is defiantly the most cleanest, polite and excellent run hotels that I have ever stayed in as it caters for families right down to the business people, I am enjoying my time here and will defiantly return in a personal capacity, this place also has lifts and a fitness suite.

We had a slight problem with room and at Checkout Hollie was brilliant. The hotel is quirky & modern. Rooms good size with lots of nice features. Would highly recommend.

The air conditioner doesn't go below 21 degrees, a socket is hanging off the wall in my room with exposed wires and I've been ignored two days in a row in the restaurant forcing my to use the harvester down the road, I will be telling my company to never use this hotel again!

The service at evening meal in restaurant was diabolically slow. I don’t mind waiting for dessert but 25 minutes was a bit much.

Yes I would recommend pentahotels I like the area its in great shops restaurants bars close by staff are very nice lovely room we are both very happy here.

Stayed at this hotel over the back holiday weekend was a good quality hotel clean friendly nice atmosphere recommended.

Tiny rooms barely room to walk between bed and chair at the desk. Free Wi-Fi is so unbelievably slow it is as if you are on dial up tool over 2 minutes for BBC Web page to load and speedtest site fails to run tests as the connection is so slow. Have had to use phone as a mobile hot-spot to get any sort of usable Internet. TV channels limited and all in SD so on the HD TV screen look very pixelated, no idea of what channel is on what channel number as no guide in the room or o…n the TV itself. No in room mini fridge or Iron. Most definitely will never stay here again or in the chain of hotels.

Exallent stay staff were very friendly, the room was great no complaints at all.

Finde es ganz gut hier, sehr modern und junge Ausstattung und Atmosphäre. Essen ist ganz ganz gut. Im Badezimmer sind leider die Fliesen irgendwie lose und es wurde auch nicht gesaugt. Ansonsten eigtl alles ok. Bevorzuge es trotzdem vor anderen Hotels. Bin aber ich beruflich hier ansonsten wäre es mir evtl zu teuer.

Clean and modern, however stayed for one night, checked in at midnight to find a party happening on the 4th floor until 1:30… Asked for an iron in the morning only to find it completely smashed when I went to use it. Attention to detail would be good if you are personally delivering something…

Lovely looking hotel, close to the city centre, nice big room and great amenities. Overflow in the bathroom wasn't attached to anything and the shower and sink took ages to empty leaving a lot of water on the bathroom floor. Thought I was going to end up flooding the rooms below! Strange that there was only a bedside table in one side with a metal stool on the other side.

Great location, two minutes from the station, great decor and always helpful staff. We've been two years in a row for the download festival so it's ideal for the shuttle bus in and out each day. I'd go the full 5 stars but for the pricing, it does cost a lot but I guess during festival time you can charge that bit more and we still pay! Really fantastic bar which I think is basically 24hrs service, can't say for sure as I was absolutely tanked by 3am but they still seemed to be serving other guests who were in better shape than me.

Excellent hotel, Enjoyed my stay, Service was very good. Room and washroom was spacious & clean. Also located near train station which makes it easy to travel. Recommended.

Great hotel, very quirky with a lovely atmosphere. It's a little out of the way but a short taxi ride into the town centre. They also make lovely mojitos at the bar.

Just checked out and can't wait to come back. Best night sleep ever. Lovely rooms. Great vibe! 25 min tops walk into town! Right near the train station too. Would highly reccomend!

Nice modern hotel, with Excellent, friendly staff and sauna and gym too. All amenities are free. Movie and sports channels are free too. Decent sized car park. If you're going to Pride Park this is very close by, taking around 10 — 15 mins to walk there. The menu is decent and food is good. The only negative is that it's on a business park and surrounded by naff chain restaurants and fast food joints. I'd stay here again.

I have stayed before and it has been nice but they have increased the price and for that it doesn't include breakfast and doesn't guarantee you a double room. I had to ask for a double cover and when I got in the room its missing toiletries and water (supposed to come with the room). Not worth the expense.

The hotel it self was clean and lovely. The restaurant was really good food but expensive for the steaks. Bar was good and looked amazing. The rooms were clean and services were good. MASSIVE DOWNSIDE THE ROOM CLEANERS STOLE MAKEUP LEFT ON THE SIDE! Was reported to the staff who gave us discount on room service and free parking for the two nights stay which made so sort of condolences.

This was the first time I visited a hotel in the penta chain and what a brilliant choice it was. Superb room friendly staff and an excellent buffet breakfast on offer. Easy access from flat level car park with lift access to all floors. I would stay again at this hotel.

Really nice room overall. Quite clean and neat but not consistent. On the first day we got a few toiletries and the next day we got the full set of toiletries we were meant to have but no drinks. Also there was just one set of towels replaced and the other wet ones left in the room. The air conditioning didn't do anything either and the tweed pillows were very uncomfortable and itchy. Didn't order room service or have the breakfast because both seemed very over priced. Instead we went to harvester which is a short walk away offering a better breakfast at a more reasonable price.

One of the best hotels I have been to. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are too comfortable even though they are a bit small. There is a gym with a sauna, a pool table and a PlayStation 4. It is also close to the engineering college. The shopping center is a few minutes of walking away, with lots of shops and restaurants. The perfect hotel for staying with your friends for a vacation.

Nice clean room. Tv. Clean shower / wet room. Pool table and PS4 for guests use in lobby. Cheap secure parking available at £5 per 24 hours. Also near the train station.

Very impressed with this hotel, good location, accessible to nearby restaurants and shops. Modern rooms with additional free facilities, gym, PS4, pool table. Well worth the cost per night.

This is a hotel chain catering for travelers, but not a bad choice for anyone. The room was pretty generous for a hotel and the bed was fairly large as eel which was welcome after some of the small needs we have come across lately. The mattress was to firm for my liking, but most people would probably be happy. Pretty good breakfast. Close to the rail station. Great for an overnight stay.

The location is great as its next to the train station and about a 15 minute walk from some good restaurants. The hotel style is young and trendy. Good menu options and decnentlly sized rooms. However can get noisey at night with guests returning to the hotel if you're room is at the front of the hotel.

Had a great stay. Free Movies and TV shows was nice. Hope there were more collections. Breakfast area had insufficient seating.

Visit Derby regularly and I always choose Pentahotel. It has great beds, a great social area with bar and restaurant. Food is always of a good quality. The gym is small but with a selection of machines and free weights it works well for me. There is a sauna but just let the reception know you want to use it in advance so they switch it on. Overall I am always happy with the Penta.

Nice place, interesting decor, nice & friendly staff. However I only had 2 pillows which were so soft you were in effect laid flat, there was only one coat hanger on the rack so had no where to put 3 days shirts and in the bathroom a simple towel rail was missing so the towels had no where to hang and dry.

Great value for money, amazing food & staff very friendly! Great atmosphere. You really couldn't ask for more from a hotel. I will definitely be returning!

Hotel very close to Derby City, and the train station. Quirky and modern design features in the interior, such as the bar, a PlayStation for the use of guests, a pool table, etc. However the rooms are relatively basic and slightly on the small side. And as to be expected in a city hotel the view from the room was of car park. Friendly staff though, relaxed atmosphere, and nice hotel. Did have to pay to park in the hotel car park though.

Really nice hotel! Had a nice vibe and was really comfortable. We only stayed one night and spent most of the time watching films in the room as we were both nackered (after spending 10 mins trying to work out how to work the TV).
Unfortunately the one thing that spoilt the night was the fact that the Aircon did not work properly and the room was really warm and we couldn't get to sleep! The fans seemed to work but the air was not getting colder! for the price the hotel was great. Had I been staying more than one night the gaming room would have been great!

Am here for 3 nights and on 2nd night last night I moved rooms twice due to issues with the TVs that meant multiple up and down stairs as the phone in my first room also didn't work to call reception.
This was after using the gym and one of the treadmill speed buttons was intermittent, little bit dangerous.
After settling in the 3rd room at about 10.45pm and receiving a complimentary drink (thank you staff were lovely), I went to put the air con on as it was warm in the room, to then find this didn't work either. It's unfortunate that such a lovely looking and recommended hotel for work has had this experience for me. I'm looking forward to going home tomorrow now.

Quirky and well presented hotel with comfy beds, helpful staff and a very well stocked bar. Only downside is that the rooms aren't very well insulated against sound so you can hear a lot of noise from outside and the corridors. Overall far far nicer than the competition with some brilliant interior design choices, a pool table and PS4 in the bar area.

This hotel is not too bad. It is very trendy in a great location near the main train station in Derby. The rooms are a good size but they are basic, I had a king size bed, with no duvet but no matter, they where very comfortable. The breakfast was simple but tasted good and the bar was quite happening in the evening, I did not have any other meals so I cannot comment on them. The staff are young but they are friendly and they are capable which is helpful. All in all it is simple, trend and nice hotel and a good break from the normal business hotel. I enjoyed it and I would stay again in the future, try it, you'll have fun.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic, beautiful rooms and beautiful views, just wish that the room service was a little bit more extensive. Not a wide range of foods to order to the room, and no drinks can be ordered you have to go grab them. And the bars a bit small on the number of seats. But they are only minor details, free pool playable, free playstation playa le, free movies free gym excellent place to stay at a decent price.

Rooms are very nice, and service is good. The interior of the hotel is eclectic and interesting. However, the Wi-Fi is terrible and almost unusable. Despite that, worth it.

Slow to check in however good costumer service and team more than made up for it. Excellent breakfast.

Friendly staff and we'll equipped rooms. Comfy bed and big TV. Decent bathroom and toiletries. Very cool bar area. Breakfast and dining menu just too expensive.

4 of us booked rooms all of us appalled by the food/service & the rooms! I was over charged by a lot for the food & room 7 they still won't give me a refund or even a sorry by the so called MD Ben. Basically told me tough! 2 of our party was on the loo most of the night because of the food & a couple we made friends with had the sane issue the same night, they had a refund but they told me to whistle for it! so rude, Ben Thomas s the worst Md I have ever known, I am mid 40's & this was supposed to be a pleasant business trip but he & the food made it horrid. Never again!

Hotel looks a lot nicer in the photos than it really is. It was a complete rip off!

The Hotel room was nice… and thats all I can say good about The Penta… First night was ruined by an upset stomach down to the £15 cheeseburger meal I brought from The Penta Menu… Burn't around the outside, hard and cold in the middle I knew I should've taken it back… a handful of Chips and a cheap side salad… I still struggle to figure out how it was worth £15. A friend of mine ordered a Pizza… £10 it was. It was more suited on a Primary School Menu. Again no Taste and rock hard outer edge, he only had 2 slices and that was because we hadn't eaten all day… The prices are ex stashanate behind the bar! Watered downed Alcohol… Guinness poured out of a can… embarrassing to say the least! Not even there staff looked like they want to work thier. No enthusiasm, manners or patiences for customers. Complaints were made left right and centre from other visitors complaining about the same problems we were having. Breakfast was just as bad… No way would I have paid for it if it wasnt part of my room package. Cheap, no taste and looked just as unpleasant. At one point it took a couple of minutes for staff to be on it when they were told that a piece of toast was on fire… (True Story) The female member of staff was quoted saying, unalerted 'oh… ok'… Wow… I know I wont be coming back to The Penta… Oh and Parking is £5 and not included in your purchase of stay…

Service was otrotious at least half hour at bar, room service took twice the time I was told and completely wrong order replacement was not even ordered kitchen lost the order £11 for a sandwich on cheap bread and chips £3 room service £5 per night parking TV service worked when it wanted too breakfast looked like it was cooked by school children juices were empty nobody around to ask to replace not what you expect from a hotel of this cost free Wi-Fi and parking advertised is actually 9.95 per 24 hours and parking £5 per night.
