What a fabulous pub. Staff are very professional young vibrant and enthusiastic without being intrusive. Lovely setting the best bit was the food it was fabulous good varied menu everything was cooked to perfection and I have to say the best roast potatoes I have ever had the pudding was to die for this place is now in my top 5 favourites places to eat worth a drive out to would highly recommend.

What a superb place to eat and from my perspective there is absolutely nothing negative that can be said. Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, something on the menu for everyone’s taste, the food is exquisite and wine list extensive. If you get an opportunity to visit I cannot recommend highly enough.

Wonderful food and excellent service.

Worst experience the minute we walked in was spoken to so rudely by the main waiter who was suited (not the bartender) it got worse once seated! will be doing my main review on trip advisor.

Great service and fabulous food. Only popped in for a pint, 4 dishes later and an overnight stay.

Food excellent as usual but front of house need to step up and deliver a good customer experience. The new guy is nice but needs to be more pro-active in speaking to dining customers rather than acting as a waiter to deliver food.

Superb lunch, delicious chips, tasty bread, very welcoming chatty barman, warm cosy, clean. Amazing beef pie last weekend with lovely assortment of vegetables. We will definitely be returning again.

Having a drop in Kettlewell before heading To Scotland, we had dinner To this pub next door to our place. Worth waiting for our steak and lamb … Great quality food and delicicious taste. I highly recommend. Wé are French and generally not fan of English food. Coming back To Kettlewell… sure wé would have our meal there again. Moreover the staff is very nice and professional. Lovely food. Only thing is no chicken on main meals! I had to have crispy chicken strips (a starter) as a main meal.

Great food. A bit pricier than other pubs in the area but well worth it.

Excellent meal, staff good and attentive. We both had the liver, really good and with extra gravy but a bit short on mash. Rhubarb pudding was amazing. A bit pricey for a village pub, but excellent food.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Stayed in lovely Kettlewell for a long weekend and ate in the Kings Head twice. The food was superb both times. Varied menu with vegetarian options and friendly staff. Our party was very happy with the meat, fish and veggie options.

Lovely warm welcome on the coldest weekend of the year. Cosy room, good beer and a fabulous breakfast.

I have stayed several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed good food and warm hospitality.

We stay here a lot, very sophisticated, amazing food, amazing rooms and views. The staff can't do enough for you.

Small historic country pub with rooms. Chef-patron and friendly staff. Gorgeous food, well presented. Good choice of fresh fish, local meat and interesting vegetarian dishes. Good bar with real ales but readily produced a Peroni when I jokingly asked. I had lamb served two ways… good portions. Came with elegant veg and sauce. The fresh veg. Sides were were generous and interesting. Shall visit again soon I hope.

Food was great, but slightly overpriced (eg. £4 for a small bowl of veg). The service wasn't very attentive either, our large group never once got asked if we wanted any more drinks. Having the menu on the wall is a little weird, difficult for some to read and really awkward if you're sat infront of it with people staring at you.

Nice pub and to my mind the best out of all those in Kettlewell by miles. We ordered hot Beef sandwich with chips and both enjoyed our food. My only critisism is the same as other people's which is, whilst tasty and well presented, the food it is a slightly overpriced for portion size. Never the less, we will definitely be going back for more.

The King’s Head is a charming little pub in a picturesque village, that offers food and lodgings as well as a good pint. The place was heaving with friendly locals on the night I stayed. Dinner was delicious, with quite a bit of choice for vegetarians. All food seemed fresh and local. Staff was charming, very friendly and helpful. Rooms very simple but prettily decorated and very clean. They have a small library of books and DVDs which was a nice touch. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are in this beautiful area of the Dales.

Nice and busy village pub. The food and service was excellent. Lots of choice to eat with three vegetarian options on the menu.

The food and drink is tasty enough but it's not exceptional and is very over priced. The kids meals — £8 each incl 1 x sausage, a few beans and a few chips. Presented nicely and the 1 x sausage was nice but £8? Yawzers! I had a steak pie — again nice enough — served with just chips but at £15 you expect something pretty good! A bit disappointing.

We are so lucky to live in this beautiful village and have the brilliant Kings Head too. Micheal, head chef, and his fabulous team did the catering for our daughter's wedding recently. The whole service and attention to detail was wonderful, all this seamlessly delivered in our village hall. A perfect day. Thank you to everyone for making it happen.

Finally a pub/ restaurant in the Dales that sets it's site above the usual pub grub and does it well. Great place, awesome food. Real attention to detail with an understanding of balance of flavours. Hard to imagine a more beautiful village to set it in. My only regret is that it's not easy walking distance from my door in Skipton. Wow!

Pleasant accommodation, nicely presented. Couple of cosmetic/decorative issues with the room that could do with attention but nothing to spoil the stay. Comfortable bed. Exceptionally friendly staff. Great full English breakfast.

Great place! Beautiful little village and pub well situated. Great real ale being served in a lovely bar. Both evening meal and breakfast were excellent and the room was very cosy with a very comfy bed. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Great service also from all staff to make you feel welcome!

Was staying in town for our wedding, and came for dinner and drinks a few nights before. Got the chicken Wensleydale and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had this trip. Would highly recommend.

Had a very nice lambs leg and mash, always very nice, never have had a bad meal!

Over two hours wait for a main course, sat at a table between the kitchen and a store room where my friends were continually bumped as the waitresses went past. The rib-eye steak was wafer thin and I suspect it had been sliced in half as three or four of the other menu items weren't available and on top of that: frozen chips. If I'm paying £18 for a ridiculously thin steak I don't expect frozen chips. And, as the steak was so thin, it was overcooked.

This place seems to be closed down.

Previous review by J A Baldwin, was correct the new people had literally just taken over the pub on the 4th, as we visited on the 20th April and stayed 3 nights I felt it only fair to give the new owners a review. The rooms were very clean and very tidy, although a little cold on arrival the owners bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable and we had no 'cold' problems after that, the showers were hot, the food was wonderful and the 'big' wine glasses went down a treat. The fires were well stoked and whilst we were in, a group of ramblers came in and they were all fed and watered within an acceptable time. The chef was very good and friendly and the breakfasts were excellent. So what looks like was a rocky start is already building into a well respected business.
