Curtesy call was welcome. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Great food and helpful/informative bar chap, clean and cosy room. Really enjoyed the experience! Will be back!

We visited here for a winter getaway break deal over the weekend and what an absolute treasure of a place! We was welcomed so well especially by the new starter Liam nothing was too much for him, the food was amazing, the service was great, it was so warm and welcoming! Would deffinitely recommend and we will be visiting again for a break in the dales! Thank you so much! 🏞

Very friendly, great room, fantastic food ☺

Visited the pub by chance passing through, without any prior knowledge. Received a lovely warm welcome despite having one tired toddler on arrival. He soon warmed to the friendly staff and the food served was superb and good value for money. We've driven past this pub countless times having day trips to the Dales, we won't be making that mistake again and will on our list of places to revisit when in the area. Keep up the great work!

Tom the owner has my property from when I worked here. I left due to the chefs taking cocaine on shift and was told my property would be sent to me and now after months of trying to contact him he has ignored every one. It’s time you gave answers Tom garland. Posting here as there seems to be no way of getting you to reply.

Staff were very welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. Rooms are very tidy, home from home feel.

Just had a 2 night stay here for hubby's birthday. We felt welcomed by Ian right from the start and he continued to look after us throughout our stay. Kim the Manager is also amazing truly looked after us on both nights always making sure we had a table reserved and her service was fantastic. Both Ian and Kim made our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable as was the accommodation throughout. Food on both nights were fabulous and breakfast was a great start to the day. Thanku guys you are amazing and we will be back ❤️❤️❤️

Wow what a fabulous hotel. The setting is outstanding, but the value added is the excellent owner and his staff, who were just about the most pleasant and hard working staff we have come across. Book the Swaledale room, it is superb x Nigel and Sue Cave xxx.

Good friendly service, excellent Sunday lunch. Yorkshire pudding I could have used as a coracle in the adjacent lake!

We stayed for 3 nights, and had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and our room was clean, and the bed very comfortable, we would definitely recommend.

This is an excellent location as a base to travel. Near to Skipton, Settle, Kettlewell, Ingleton and others. The staff a very friendly, the food is excellent with good size portions. Very reasonably priced. Breakfast is full English with juice and coffee and cereals. The hotel itself could do with a spruce up but nothing to complain about. Rooms are comfy, warm, with plenty of hot water, shower, kettle, tea and coffee. I would definitely stay here again.

Booked a meal here with my wife for our wedding anniversary. I ordered steak and asked for it medium rare, it came out completely over cooked and tough as old boots. No one came to ask how the meals were like they normally do, and even when collecting the plates the waitress didn’t ask so I had to tell her about the steak. She just said “okay” and walked off! Waited a while longer to see if we were going to be asked about desserts but no one came so gave up. Asked for the bill at the bar and the person in charge didn’t know about the steak issue, I also mentioned the waitress’ poor attitude. He also failed to apologise and offered to remove the charge of one starter to compensate. My starter was nice, wife said her meal was average — not what you expect for the prices. Won’t be returning.

We stopped here for lunch on a cycling trip the other week. The girl behind the bar was incredibly miserable. Everything seemed to be a hassle for her. Problems with beers running out and when I ordered a sandwich they said they didn't serve food in the beer garden despite there being others say there already eating. The sandwich itself was certainly not a £7.50 sandwich in my eyes. Pretty disappointed as this place had been recommended to us.

We really enjoyed our stay but the place could do with a really good clean which was the only downside, our evening meals were delicious and the breakfasts perfect and the owners were friendly, I would have given it a five star had it been cleaner but we would still go back ☺

We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and thoroughly enjoyed spending the last couple of days here. Our room was large and spacious and very comfortable. The food was of a high standard and delicious. We would certainly stay again.

My sister and I have just returned from a weekend away here. Absolutely fantastic! Brilliant location, fabulous rooms and the food was amazing… I am still stuffed. Dog friendly too. We will defiantly return, such lovely staff.

Super cosy friendly country pub with real fire and fabulous food. Ate and drank here after a gruelling cold ride through the Dales and it was a perfect place to end the day. Recommended.

Booked through Groupon I emailed to try and arrange a night and they don’t have any available. As this is the case they should remove the offer from the site, however I may add I am glad they don’t have any availability as the staff are very rude as I have experienced first hand via emails one of which he told me “there are 12 months of the year surly you can spend some precious time with your mum don’t over react “ I’m sorry but you don’t know our situation for all you know I might only have a month left to spend with my mum and I found this rather offensive and ignorant. Please look on trip advisor at his response to other peoples reviews and you will see his lovely manor on there. I wish them good look as with people skills like his they are going to need it.

Me and my partner booked a room for one nights stay. We arrived in the afternoon the staff at the bar who were checking us in were friendly. On arrival to our room the walk down the corridors had a musty smell to it but as it’s an old building we could see past that we arrived in the room which was colder than outside. There was an electric heater which we went to plug in but as we lifted it neared the plug socket the legs fell off it. The room wasn’t the cleanest and As my partner is 7 months pregnant this wasn’t ideal therefore we have had to leave and go on and find somewhere else to stay. We emailed the owner to explain why we left he advised us the heating was due to come on but for the price of the room surely we shouldn’t have to wait to get warm. It was supposed to be a relaxing night away and we were more comfortable in the car. I’ve stayed in better rooms on a lads weekend away in blackpool.
