Such a quiet peaceful guest house with the most beautiful views! The breakast is brilliant and all made from locally sourced produce! Lovely welcoming host and a just a great escape! Will miss those stunning views so will be back soon!
High Fold is a lovely B&B in a beautiful and convenient part of the Lake District. Troutbeck is midway between Ambleside and Windermere, so both are in walking distance (or a short car journey) and surrounded by some fantastic paths, up to Wansfell Pike or along the Kirstone Pass, for example. The rooms are well-equipped, spotlessly clean and the two primary suites are surprisingly large. The Applethwaite Suite is our favourite, and has a spectacular view, even from the bathroom. Hosts Les and Susan are friendly and helpful — happy to recommend walks, places to eat and loan maps — and their breakfast spreads are excellent. They're also happy to cater for those with special diets, given a little advance notice.

A wonderful host and a perfect place to stay post lockdown. We were looked after, breakfast was excellent and setting beautiful. Lots of luxurious touches such as high quality toiletries and flapjacks to take on our walks. We will definitely be staying again.
