We have just arrived home after a really nice two night stay at oakfold house to start the celebrations of my 50th birthday. The rooms were spotless and really cosy we were in room 6 which was more than enough space for me, my husband and our 11 year old. The location is perfect and the breakfast options are varied and plentiful. Clare was lovely always stopped for a chat and even arranged for some flowers to be left in our room at the request of my husband (I understand from a local florest and they were the best flowers I’d received the colours were amazing) as for Oakfold House we will most certainly be returning. Thanks Rob and Clare for making it so special.

Lovely stay at Oakfold House on a weekend walking trip. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. We appreciated the thoughtful additions to the rooms, such as suprise Tunnox wafers and toiletries. We enjoyed staying in characterful building in a really convenient area. Thank you 😊

We have just returned from a long weekend at Oakfold House, what a beautiful little gem within Bowness, we had a beautiful triple room with a great view, beautifully decorated throughout, Claire and Rob were absolutely perfect hosts and the quality and choice of the breakfast was the best we have eaten anywhere! Cannot recommend you highly enough, and thank you, we look forward to returning x.

This was our first visit to The Lakes and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Our room was stunning relaxing and quiet with a view over the garden. Big white fluffy towels and soap body wash etc in the en-suite. There is also a kettle in your room with a choice of tea and coffee for you to make a drink. The breakfast choice was one of the best I have ever had it was delicious served hot to your table. We were made to feel very welcome and will come again. The bonus was the on site parking we didn’t use our car throughout our stay the walk into town is just a few minutes and we caught the ferry every day to see the places we wanted to see. Plenty of choice for eating out and almost everywhere is still table service. Excellent is all I can say and thank you to our hosts.

Just returned from a fantastic stay here, cant recommend enough, fantastic breakfast all cooked by rob, fantastic hostessing from claire, went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy, you wont be disappointed, thanks again for a great stay. Sarah and Darren.

Absolutely our go too whilst in bowness. Rob & Clare and the nicest people and the breakfast is on another level. On site parking, rooms are immaculate and nothing can be faulted in this b&b. Will be back… again! 👌❤👏

Just returned from a one night stay at this lovely B&B. Claire was a wonderful host and so accommodating. The room was clean and spacious. All covid related precautions were in place. The B&B is situated in a perfect location, 5-10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and lake Windermere. Will definitely recommend this B&B.

Just had a wonderful break away in Oakfold House. So welcoming and friendly, lovely clean rooms, breakfast was amazing it has everything there you could want. Perfectly placed to explore Bowness. I will definitely be back and would without hesitation recommend this place for a stay. Just wish we had booked for longer. Loved it.

We have just got back from Oakfold house on a 4 night stay. Claire and Rob can not do enough for you, very friendly, the rooms are spotless and warm. They really took care of us during our stay and the breakfasts were lovely and of plenty. We would definitely recommend this B&B. I would rate this 5 star well done and thank you X.

Just come back from a lovely few days at Oakfold House. Dan and I couldn’t fault it one bit. Fabulous breakfast, lovely room and excellent service. Rob and Clare are brilliant hosts who really take the time to chat to you, get to know you and genuinely care if you’re having a good time. The B&B is in a great location and the room was so cosy and comfortable. We couldn’t recommend it enough and we hope to return in the future xx.

Lovely owners, really welcoming, clean, comfortable, great home cooked breakfast, really comfy bed. And unless you have trouble with stairs,. I would totally recommend.

Just got back after a 2 night stay at oakfold house lovely room with big comfy bed on suite with bath and shower, toiletries, tea coffe making facilities, hairdryer in room great breakfast lots to choose from with homemade bread. Owners nice freindly very helpfull telling us where was good to eat ect and gave us a map. Lovely area walking distance to shops pubs restaurants onsite parking would deff stay again.

Really recommend stayed a couple of times close to the center of bowness worth a visit we will be going back.

We have had several excellent stays here all very good. Very welcoming hosts, warm cosy rooms and great breakfasts!

Lovely accommodation. We stayed in the attic room, which was probably on the hottest day of last year, so was rather hot, but the huge skylight in the en suite helped to cool it. The breakfast and welcome were lovely! Great to be able to park outside too.

We have stayed at Oakfold House twice before, once with the current owners. We had a lovely stay, everything was immaculately clean and tidy. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Even down to the best drive to get to our day out! We were touched by the thoughtful little gift back in our room as we had just got engaged on our stay. It's the little things that make a stay so enjoyable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Very hospitable and helpful, rooms are very homely with large shower. Few minutes walk away from amenities.

A warm and very friendly environment. Nicely decorated and well kept. Breakfast was served in a quaint dining room that makes it easy to relax. The breakfast (s) were simple and delicious and were made from locally sourced ingredients. It's located in the heart of Bowness so it's close to a variety of shops and restaurants to suit your tastes and is a 5 — 10 minute walk to the lake where you can enjoy breathtaking scenery during boat rides. There's plenty of activities, some of which was recommended to us upon arrival which was very helpful. With everything the area has to offer, you'll never be stuck for things to see and do.

House was lovely and comfortable and the owners were fantastic, very friendly and attentive with helpful advice about local places to visit and places to eat and drink. The only downside for us was the noise from other guests due to the thin walls and also a rattling window through the night due to the wind.

The owner went above and beyond upon our arrival at 2AM 9th Feb. Leaving a key outside in a safe Place, for us to not locate (right under our nose) and then for him to let us in. Fantastic customer service and care and what a top Gent he was too. Breakfast was stunning with locally sourced ingredients, bedroom clean to biggest standards… extremely well presented and looked after. My Missus was particularly impressed with the quality of her nights sleep she had due to the "lush" pillows and matters. I myself have to agree! Overall, a beautiful, quaint but modern, sophisticated hotel with wonderful, caring staff. We will be returning soon and wish to have the same room number 2. The price was also very reasonable for the quality provided, and the location being so close to Windermere. Thankyou!

Stayed at the oakfold house with mey girlfriend, had an amazing night in the town, the rooms are fairly small but really clean and warming, the bed was extremely comfy and the shower was great too. Had breakfast in the morning which was lovely, would definitely stay again.

Absolutely wonderful! myself & my husband came here last minute for a couple of nights stay as our honeymoon! Oakfold house is the most charming, quirky place to stay in! fantastic walking distance from everything you need & the breakfast was very tasty! Thank you to maxwell & marine for being so welcoming and friendly! Staying at the beautiful oakfold house was the perfect start to our two part honeymoon! Thanks again guys! Would deffo recommend!

We had an amazing weekend in Bowness-on-Windermere with a huge thanks going to Oakfold House. While staying there the service was exceptional, the room was beautiful, the breakfast was yummy, the coffee great and in plentiful supply. A huge thanks has to go to the two owner who were just so helpful and very attentive. A highly recommended bed and breakfast.

This is an excellent first class B&B in Bowness, we stayed for a few days and the room was lovely, breakfast delicious and the owners friendly and approachable. We can highly recommend them. Thanks Max + Marnie.

Rang up and asked could they put wine in the room, not only did they do this but sent someone out into the village to buy it! Couldn't ask for better service than this. So many thanks for all your help in buying wine and getting it in the room, very much appreciated x.
