Brilliant meal this evening. The portions are super generous, really great value, but extremely high quality food. My partner had the Three Cheese flat bread and I had the Thai Chicken Salad. Loved them both. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back very soon!

Great food and proper portions. Only grumble is Guinness needs to be poured properly. Did not spoil the evening and we will be back again.

We booked last minute for Thursday 15th October. We arrived around 18.20 after walking from Wasdale.
The member of staff who booked us in (Mel) was so lovely and friendly, she showed us how to get to our room and told us all the Covid rules. Our room was a dog friendly room. It was very clean, spacious and very comfortable. The shower was great, hot and plenty of water coming through the shower head, with shampoo, shower gel and sop provided. We had booked a table for food that evening, there was a good selection of starters, mains and desserts and everything was delicious. The warm bread and oil starter with the best garlic butter I have ever eaten was amazing. Large portions too. The breakfast next morning was excellent too. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and very professional.
Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again.

Lovely night stay last night, perfect location after walking scafell. Food was brilliant and every member of staff we spoke with was very polite and welcoming. Would definitely stay again when we are up that way and highly recommend.

The Kellbank hosted my boys 18th birthday afternoon yesterday. Cannot thank them enough. Food was amazing — staff were great and helpful and venue was so good. Would highly recommend!

This hotel was a great find. Lots of parking, a nice quiet room, comfy beds and a reasonable price. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. They even had parking for ponies. The only negative for us was the lack of food on Sunday evening; they only seem to do a Sunday lunch then finish quite early. The ability to have food on a Sunday evening, especially during the peak holiday season should be considered.

Had a great meal tonight, steak was beautifully cooked. Highly recommend people to go there for a meal.

Very good service, and well prepared rooms. Free Wi-Fi and telephone calls in every room. Unfortunately the TV has limited functions (can't log into Netflix) but it has the main channels. En suit bathrooms are convenient. Very calming and relaxing chill areas to eat outside. Play area for the kids is nice. Charging for electric cars by Tesla is available. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommended.

Lovely, family friendly hotel set in beautiful countryside. Friendly staff, good food and drink, large well-equipped child play area, a large car park with power for camper vans and plenty of free EV charging facilities. Disabled parking next to a wheelchair accessible room.

Stayed here overnight with our camper. Couldn't have been more helpful. Pretty littke village location.

Food is amazing, generously portioned, tastes fabulous and the chef obviously puts a lot of effort into the dishes, plus prices are great. Staff are very friendly and polite. The kids park is the perfect setting to let the little ones burn off steam and for parents to sit back and relax.
A definite must if you are in the area!

Just been to The Kellbank for a birthday lunch, we had the mixed grill and the most amazing sticky toffee pudding I've ever tasted! Fab food and service, Thanks Kellbank.

Attended a conference at the Kellbank. Facilities were more than adequate — plenty of room and a big screen for presenting. Are before the event in the bar — good choice on the menu and you definitely won't go hungry! My room was snug but comfortable and the l important Wi-Fi was free! OK, the outside could do with a bit of tidying up but the level of service and attentive and friendly staff couldn't be faulted.

Had the T&A, absolutely fantastic. Chicken breast was very moist and steak was incredibly tasty. Sweet potato fries and sauce were also great. Would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel, the bar meals are beautiful with weekly specials which are always different at a good price. Sunday's are carvery with 3 meats sausage meat stuffing and at least 5 veggies and 2 pots. The service is always excellent.

We love the Kellbank pub. Even more so now we’ve have a holiday cottage on the other end of the same row! We can go there everyday and not need to get a single pan out of the cupboard. Lol.

I visited many times only the restaurant for lunch: big menu with lots of options: the burgers are fantastic, you can even have take away. Variety of draft beers.

Lovely food, I had steak and hubby had the steak pie. We both ate every scrap! Delicious. Dog friendly too which is a big plus for us. Our little dog was made welcome and even given biscuits.

Room was dated and had some furnature that looked like it belonged in the 70s (refer to photos). Also the cleaner walked in our room at 8:30 without knocking! Luckily we were decent but easily couldn't have been. I will never stay here again!

Came for dinner tonight as family of 5 both adult meals and all 3 kids meals arrived quickly and were absolutely delicious lovely friendly staff nice play area outside for kids reasonable prices food and drinks would highly recommend it.

Nice pub. Great for sport good range of ales. Food is very good specializing in pub grub and gourmet burgers. Family friendly would reccomend a visit.

Very friendly staff couldn't do enough for us, we were out for the day and stopped at the Kellbank for food. The meal was delicious, large portions and hot. Great customer service experience, we highly recommend it and will be returning.

Had a meal out here while on holiday with my wife, the food was astonishing, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I honestly couldn't rate this place higher. Hats off to the chef! Try the broccoli and blue cheese soup and the lamb (they're phenomenal)! Thank you for an amazing meal!

Well located for business trips to Sellafield, or for holiday trips to this side of the Lake District. A short taxi ride from Seascale railway station. The rooms are very small, almost as if the walls have been built around the bed, but if you don't mind that, comfortable. The food is hearty, there's one or two real ales in the bar. Altogether, not bad for a short visit.

Terrible service. I asked them if I could have dinner in the pub, and they told me ok. Then, they utterly ignored me. I had to chase the staff to order after an hour, they ignored me again and didn't come to ask me if I wanted dessert. The room was not nice. The TV was unplugged and not tuned. It smelled weird…

Visited the Kellbank to make an enquiry to host an event. The staff were so welcoming and answered all my queries and more! Look forward to visiting them again soon.

There is always a warm welcome at The Kellbank Bar & Restaurant. Great selection on the menu, food is always fresh, hot and tasty! Lovely staff in Bar and Restaurant. They usually have rooms available too, if you're looking for a decent place to stay!

Not bad at all, a lively bar, a traditional selection of beers and pub type food and some rooms behind the pub, far enough removed to be nice and quiet. Friendly staff and good service, plus free internet and tidy clean rooms. I liked it.

The Kellbank is a must go too no matter where you're from! (And im from Ilkeston which is 4-5 hours away in derby). I would even travel down just for the food and service which is exquisite and accompanied by numerous types of entertainment. There's something here for everyone. This will be one of the best places you will eat in a long while! If you're looking for the best quality and the best quantity of food and service you can find, here is your place. An easy 5 out of 5 stars.

We recently held our wedding reception at this hotel. We all had a great night, the buffet was great the staff were great and they made our night one to remember. Thank you to all involved. Regards Kelly and Kyle.

What a wonderful place to stay, we stayed for a week in April and the new owners and their staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious clean and newly refurbished and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and had a delicious home cooked meal. We would definitely stay again and we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in a well refurbished and friendly welcoming place. Thank you to all the staff at the Horse and Groom Hotel.
