Went for a family meal tonight at the firtree hotel and the meals we had were exceptional. No faults can be given. Service was excellent. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was out in adequate time and was beautiful. Defo be returning.

Had another lovely family meal here tonight for my birthday. Waiting staff were excellent. The open chicken & leek pie was beautiful. As always can't fault a thing. See you soon.

I was traveling from Aviemore on my motorcycle it had rained all day I was soaking wet cold hungry. I happened across the fir tree hotel it looked a bit posh very nice I hadn’t booked. I walked in really nice with lovely wooden floors within seconds there was a puddle round me. The reaction was unbelievable “ oh pet look at you your soaked” from that moment the lady did everything to help me got a great room had a shower put on chiefs uniform given to me for everything was soaked. Went to the bar 8;45 to order some food but stop serving at 8:00 this left me with a problem as I have type 1 diabetes I did not mention this but ordered a pint and sat down to think about my options. 5 mins later the bar man asked me do you want scampi and chips? Life saver I do like travelling around and I stay at a lot of B&Bs hotels but this place is superb I can’t recommend highly enough. Just like to say a big thank you to all the great staff, il definitely be back.

Stayed for a couple of days in lovely new room in a block at the back of the hotel. Had an evening meal with friends which was very tasty and with large helpings from a varied menu. The quality of the breakfast offering was less than expected with plain juices and some well cooked items of food, crispy! Overall good value for where it was.

Do yourself a favour and have the meat pie, you will not be disappointed. Best pie on the planet! All staff are lovely and very welcoming.

Exceptional food in lovely surrounding with amazingly friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for even accommodating our dinosaur.

Spending the weekend here, so far the stay has been excellent, the rooms are just as the rear by the car park, the rooms are clean and modern and comfortable, meals served in the restaurant are excellent good value for money and plenty full. Breakfast was also excellent. So far great start.

Went last night for a meal and can say it was up there with the best I’ve had locally. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The fillet steak was gorgeous, plentiful and tender; being able to have syn free chips was an added bonus. Will be back and highly recommend.

Excellent food and service. Called in last minute on a Wednesday nice and quiet. Fast service of meals and drinks. Both of which where brilliant. The young girl who served us had excellent service and manners.

Had a lovely informal lunch at The Fir Tree with visiting family. Great friendly service. Good atmosphere for a long awaited get together. Food and drinks were excellent and priced sensibly. We had fun!

Just been for Sunday lunch. Bar staff, or maybe owners behind the bar don't seem interested, made to feel a bit silly as I didn't understand the carvery card and didn't have a table number? Wasn't aware of this. Even though we had just called to book. Never mind. Ordered off the menu steak sizzler and my husband got a carvery, steak was nice, well cooked. My husband went up for his carvery to be told he couldn't have any as there was no mash potatoe, he then said he would do without, so she finally served him to then stop serving him half way through to answer her mobile phone to her son! Not being funny but your at work, ring people back, you don't ignore a customer for personal calls, totally unprofessional. His meal was fine, nothing flash. Continued to watch the chef behind the carvery as we ate, she was actually talking on her mobile phone wise mixing the veg. Seems so bizarre to me that a staff member would do that. Saving grace for this place is the lovely girls on the wait staff, they are so friendly! Can't praise them enough, however all other staff let this place down massively! We were intended to go one night for tea just the two of us, but will not be returning! Over all the people who run the place seem to have an attitude to customers, not a comfortable place to be.

Stumbled across this beautiful little pub and hotel on an impromptu trip up the country. Could not have wished for friendlier staff and a more beautiful rural setting. Cannot recommend this place enough! rooms are clean, tidy and well kept and the food is great and well priced. I would definitely advise a visit!

The food was great, I'm unsure about the price as I hadn't paid but I found that, although I had no starter, I was still hungry after a lovely main and dessert. The options were good and the staff were polite. Everything was well cleaned and there was a cozy atmosphere.

Booked in as party of ten for breakfast with Santa but hotel accommodated an extra adult at last minute. Fantastic food, very hot and very fresh, loads of staff all working extra hard and full of festive cheer, great customer service from everyone. Kids loved seeing Santa (who was super chatty with them! ) seeing the donkey finished off the morning a treat. First time we’ve eaten here but we will be back very soon. Thank you for making it a great morning.

Me and my partner went for a meal on Thursday night, we booked in at 6 for 7.30pm. Arrived on time and the girl behind the bar was lovely and welcoming asked if we had booked and offered us drinks. We decided t get our drinks when we were at the table, and were seated in the quieter end rather than the busy restaurant which is what we preferred. 20 mins or so past still no drinks and still no menu, Tony the manager walked past and said have u not got your menus n drinks and got one the girls to get us them and apologised for the delay. Another 20 minutes or so past and one the girls walked past and I had to ask if we could place our food order (turns out we had been forgotten about because we weren't in the busy restaurant end). Food arrived shortly after which looked lovely. I had to ask for sauces because we weren't asked and the waitress did not look happy that she had to go and get these, then my partner had to go and find someone to ask for vinegar. After our main a waitress came, cleaned the table and offered us dessert menu then shortly came back n took our order. Desserts arrived again well presented, unfortunately we had nothing to eat these with. About 5 minutes past and I had to go n find someone, when I asked the waitress in the restaurant for something to eat our desserts with her reply was there was folks on the table next to us, we had cheese cake n ice cream and sticky toffee pudding with sauce (how u meant t eat sauce n ice cream with a folk? ).
