Hi. Just had to leave a review as Sunday lunch was so good! Four of us had the roast beef and we all said it was one of the best ever, beautifully cooked and presented, followed by a great selection of all home cooked desserts. The chocolate orange torte was a hit. Many thanks B Quigley.

Very clean, comfortable. Great atmosphere, great food, happy and helpful staff. Lovely building and surrounding area. Nothing at all negative to say. Excellent place!

My daughter and I had a gorgeous meal at the Dukes Head Inn. Staff were friendly, food was amazing and the Inn was absolutely spotless, not a speck of dust, the place was gleaming, definitely recommend.

Just back from a quick 2 night stay at the Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and plan to come back in the future for a longer stay. The staff are fabulous, the food is lovely and the rooms are stylish with up to date features, very clean and comfy and right next to the beautiful river, Eden. They are a very dog friendly pub and my dog would have been happy for me to leave him behind due to the staff making a fuss over him and a biscuit everytime they saw him. 😉 Would highly recommend a stay here and it's a great location with an easy drive to the all the regions adventures.

Beautifully restored country pub — we stayed here and the rooms were excellent.

Great staff, spent afternoon in the large beer garden, loads of space, dogs allowed, friendly atmosphere, recommend 👍👍

Stayed for two nights as part our honeymoon… on way back from Scotland… room was excellent, food was lush, staff were so friendly and helpful … Thank you to Tom and all for helping us create lovely memories … will definitely be back ☺️🥂

Came to Armathwaite camping for 2 nights, had a walk and came across this lovely pub, weather was dry and sunny so decided to sit outside, a nice friendly face came and took our order of 2 pints of real ale, very nice too. The pub is lovely and the outside area was gorgeous, great scenery in a beautiful area, I could see they were serving food which looked very nice but we didn't eat there on this occasion, I'm sure we'll be back.

Paid £12 and was served a burger and chips in a box! We could get fast food over lockdown, now pubs are open we expected a nice pub meal on a plate, not that rubbish. Won't be going back!

Just enjoyed a fantastic evening here. Food was excellent, service was brilliant, thank you San. Just moved to the area and we WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Absolutely fantastic stay. As a family of four with our dog we were looked after impeccably. Our room was beautiful, the bed was huge and super comfy. Our girls were on good camp beds. The food was amazing both for dinner and breakfast. The attention to detail is fantastic and the owners and staff are lovely. Really can't fault the place, it was perfect and had a lovely river walk from the doorstep5

This pub, restaurant, b&b is recently overhauled and the decorations are of a high standard. Run by very friendly staff and owners. Choice of food and quality is superb. Loved it.

Perfect stop over. In fact we will return, regardless of stop over. Great food, great ambiance, comfy, modern, clean rooms. ❤️

We went to there for our anniversary food was brilliant staff friendly and a lovely atmosphere hh.

Stopped off here after a long walk. The food was great as were the staff. Had a good laugh annoying the barman for mega portions of chips.

Absolutely beautiful country village pub with a real friendly atmosphere. Its on the edge of the lake district and exactly the kind of country pub you picture. The food is lovely, good friendly helpful staff and such a beautiful location. I'd highly recommend a visit here and definitely worth sampling the food. We will certainly return.

I stayed for 2 nights with my 2 children. Amazing rooms, fantastic atmosphere and lovely food. Highly recommend for a stop over or a short break. Easy access to the lakes and beyond.

Lovely friendly staff who always give a very warm welcome. Food is seriously good with plenty of choice. This beautiful country pub has been lovingly brought back to life by Stew, Tom and their team. It is absolutely worth a visit.

What a great warm welcome you are guaranteed to receive when you arrive. Your Hosts Stu & Tom cannot do enough to make you welcome. The place has a great relaxed atmosphere and the decor is Beautiful. The food is always amazing and well presented. It's a definite a MUST try place.

Went to the Dukes Head with friends for food, we found an amazing pub with the most helpful staff inside. The food was absolutely exceptional, all brilliantly cooked and very tasty. If you find yourself in Armathwaite hungry and unsure where to go, I would highly recommend this pub. You wont be disappointed.

Lovely warm cosy place to recharge the batteries before we go on stage at the local old school hall. Fantastic staff and a very warm welcome from them.

We stayed at the Dukes head for one night only. Lovely room. Great decor. Felt really welcome. Fabulous food. They couldn’t do enough. A lovely couple. Very helpful. Picturesque walks. Friendly locals. Would definitely go back.

Watch out for foreign objects in your food! Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere, the lack of care and attention is overwhelming with management having a couldn’t care less attitude. This is an establishment that preys on tourists to the area and therefore do not care about repeat customers. I won’t be back!

Food was nice enough, however thought it was a little over priced for what it was. Staff were lovely.

Stopped here for a night as my wife and I attended a wedding nearby, very friendly and helpful, the room was small but nice and had a great shower. Breakfast was delicious. I would go again.

My wife and myself stayed at the hotel on 7th July this year looks great staff were great but room, 5 the one we had was way out dated more like the sixties it was on suit but with two single beds the room was to cluttered and had trouble moving around other than the room first class the barman was great.

Really nice pub, I didn't have any of the food so I can't comment but other people had it and it looked nice.

Popped in for a Sunday roast and also to celebrate my Birthday. Charming place. Wonderful restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic. Even the toilets were great. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Visited once for a coffee and twice for a meal. Fish and chips Tuesdays is a must. The staff are very friendly, service is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful.

Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly and patient staff. I had the Flat Iron Steak, which I'd never had before, it was well presented and tasted great. I can recommend it.

Brought my family for a meal. There was 12 of us with a varied pre — order. Booked in at 730 and starters arrived promptly. The haggis and blackpudding stack was beautiful with lots of flavour. The young waitress was very pleasant and polite with a smile. Our mains came out in no time. I had the chicken burger and requested it to not be to spicy and it came lightly seasoned which was not over powering. My daughter had the steak and ale pie "its the best steak and ale pie" was her words. She ate the whole lot. 3 of our table had Flat iron having not had it before they were unsure of what to expect. However were all pleasantly surprised and said it was full of flavour and cooked to perfection and really enjoyed it. Service was prompt. And all requests were catered for. The deserts went down a treat. :)

Very friendly landlady, great food and clean accommodation.

Called in to this lovely pub after a 4and half mile walk around armathwaite. Had a big and gorgeous meal that was well worth the money. Bonus was it is dog friendly so we could eat with our dog been there. Staff very freindy too. Would recomend for defo.

Friendly, nice service and the food was decent. I only popped in for snacks and drinks during a walk in the area but the staff were welcoming and the place is reasonably priced.

After being recommended to eat here we decided to give it ago reasonably quiet when we went in there were 4 of us and a child got menus and drinks straight away ordered in good time then it all went wrong waited an hour and 15 mins for food which was ridiculous by this time we just wanted to eat and go when asked if everything was ok baring in mind they already knew we had waited this long we just said yes as we were starving hungry… Upon paying the bill of just over £80 we got an apology off the only nice member of staff working but had to pay the whole bill due to being told we couldn't have anything knocked off even after such a ridiculous wait for our food no good will gestures or anything. After leaving I rang up to speak to the manager and was told that we were informed there would be a wait (which we Infact weren't told at all as we would have gone somewhere else with having the little one) and the reason to not getting anything knocked off the bill as a good will gesture was because at the table check we said everything was ok which whilst eating I was not going to tell them I was disappointed we had waited so long for our food as I just wanted to eat in peace also that I should have took it up with her whilst at the pub I did speak to a staff member and told them what I felt no manager in sight at the time so how could I?

Excellent service and delicious food. Has a pleasant outdoor area around the carpark and very convenient for having your dogs with you. Recommended indeed!

Wonderful food, friendly staff.

I stayed at this lovely country inn through work. We had the warmest of welcome and a lovely meal. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. The breakfast was Bostin ready for a hard days work. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff even with my muddy boots making a mess. A great stay. Great beer and a beautiful location. Highly recommend it!
