A fantastic bolthole and friendly atmosphere in the Barrowdale valley. With superb food, great service and outstanding views.

Fabulous beer and food. A proper beef pie with pastry top and bottom! Best pub meal we’ve had for ages. Great view. Very friendly staff.

Stayed here with my husband and 2 kids aged 7. Was very happy with our room, the breakfast was awesome and staff couldn’t do enough for you. The location was absolutely perfect, views stunning and we have already decided to stay here again next year. Very happy 😃

My husband and I have just spent a relaxing weekend at Mary mount. We even managed to see some deer. Friendly staff and very picturesque. We loved meeting the resident Rottweiler too (we have one called Bob). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely place to stay, very welcoming and extremely dog friendly. Lovely big rooms and comfy beds, brilliant breakfast and sausage for the dog! Lovely bar food and great service.

Omg what a little gem the food is amazing, I ordered two starters and some chips but omg the starters were main course and some size and both were awesome the homemade red pepper and tomato soup wow and the nachos well amazing I could not eat them all even with the help of hubby and the dog, my hubby had the Cumberland sausage with mash and it too was another fantastic dish, very good value for money and beautiful scenery and views from the restaurant and strategically placed bird feeders that had a continuous flow of stunning birds I would certainly come back here again and the lovely walk to the waterfall topped our visit off nicely thank to the pleasant friendly staff too.

Stayed here for the second time on Wednesday night (2 February 2022) and it was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, plus the food was brilliant. Stuffed ourselves (3 x 40something lads) with a hearty dinner and a quality fry up next morning. It’s very dog friendly too. Five stars from me 😊

Had a stay here in the 20th January with my dog. The staff were lovely and very attentive, the room was very comfortable and clean and overlooked Catbells. The food was delicious it was a lovely stay thank you 😊. Driving from Scotland to meet my friend on Sunday and booked in for lunch for her birthday xx.

Friendly, helpful staff. Our room is clean and spacious with a luxurious bath for a soak.

Lovely Hotel set in magnificent scenery and Gardens. Although we are staying in the Annex, our room is fabulous. Friendly staff and a good bar overlooking hills and water, what could be better. Birds feeding on the feeders out side the window, just Heaven. Breakfast to be tried yet but will be great I'm sure. 👍

We stayed in the cottage in the top floor room with our dog. Really enjoyed our stay the room was lovely and cozy. Great menu, the chick pea and mango korma is to die for. Lovely staff and a nice touch giving dogs a sausage at breakfast time. Set in stunning scenery, what’s not to like 👍🏻

Love this hotel, it’s a regular of ours. Beautiful views, dog friendly and away from the madding crowd. Lovely food, decor and lovely rooms. The friendliest helpful staff who are so welcoming. Jackie & Gary.

Quality menu, superb service and fantastic food. Beautiful setting and one of the best meals we’ve had in the Lakes. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We’ve just had 4 wonderful nights here.
The staff are friendly and helpful making it a very relaxing place.
We ate here most of our stay and found the food excellent with great portions. The food service is really quick too.
Our room was spacious and airy.
I think our only complaint but it’s not really a complaint was the people in the room next to us had a dog which barked quite late at night and when they left it in the room for breakfast but this isn’t a reflection on the hotel.
Walking distance to keswick and local walks inc cat bells.
Would definitely stay here again.

Little stopover for lunch, thought we'd just have a sandwich and chips, my god we won't want an evening meal now, it was absolutely gorgeous.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The covid rules were very easy to complete and the one way system easy to follow.

Good / Staff fantastic from morning to night. Location brilliant, whatever the weather. Breakfasts were fantastic, had a couple of evening meals and these too were great. Bed was fine for my taste. Slept soundly. Ok/ Room alright, Prices ok. Bad/ The floor boards or ply boards for the room above us were terribly noisy, this being the only downside to a brilliant 4 nights.

Second year we have visited mary mount and will be back again next year. Rooms are brilliant and clean, great position on the lake and staff are very helpful. Food is delicious.

We had a big room with a big bathroom and great shower. The Wi-Fi was very good, which was much needed. We enjoyed breakfast with great views. Plenty of car parks were available. Staff were very nice and helpful. The only problem we had was the bed. It was not the most comfortable bed.

Just spent two days here and it was great. Food was excellent. The location was perfect for Sebby dog. Lovely long walks are just outside the door. Would highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful location set near to derwent water. Staff are friendly and food is amazing. Good place to stay overnight or pop in for food and a beer as you pass. A lovely stop off point on a walk around the lake.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean and attentive. This is also a great place for bird watchers! We are yet to stay in one of the rooms but we always come for the food — Chicken Caesar Salad and Steak & Chips. Plenty of seating in and outside, and there are a few parking spaces but on a sunny day you may struggle. Arrive early!

Nice location, good food served by friendly people. The Mary Mount Hotel is just above the Watendlath Beck as it runs into Derwent Water. Very well located, of the main road, close to the bus stop at Lordore and the ferry landing.

We went there after a walk on the fells, we had not booked a table but they managed to fit us in as we arrived at 6pm. As usual the food and service were excellent cannot fault the staff, I would certainly recommend the Mary Mount.

Had a fantastic stay here in February. There’s a great walk round the lake from here so we ventured out in the cold and rain, and it was so welcoming and warm when we returned! We stayed in a lovely little room in one of the cottages (I believe only the cottage we stayed in is doggy-friendly). We breakfasted there, and there are views of bird feeders just outside the window! Perfect place for a walking weekend away with the dogs. I’d definitely love to stay again!

Fantastic views, especially if sitting outside, but the quality of the food could be better. They mainly have chicken and burgers, and the starters are very little. With that location, they should offer lamb!

Comfortable, warm and friendly. Wonderful food. Views to wake up to. This was our third visit and never disappointed.

Great place for lunch, was a little surprised the muffins and tray bakes were not home made, but delicious anyway. The Sunday lunch looked excellent.

Stunning location but treated rudely by a staff member. If you don't want customers to sit in a specific place either have a reserved sign or nicely ask them to move instead of just staring angrily and tutting at them.

Fantastic location, friendly service and luxurious inside — a lovely place to spend an hour or two after a very long walk. (walkers welcome even with two very large muddy dogs)

Didn't stay in the hotel, just went to the bar for a well earned drink following a walk around the lake. Lovely interior and friendly staff.

Had a great time. Some of the room were a bit dated. Our room only had a bath with no shower but the food was brilliant. It was served piping hot and the portions were ample. Breakfast was also great with the boiled eggs done to perfection. Customer service also very good. Well done Marys Mount… a big thumbs up from me x.

Last June, the self-help travel to this accommodation, meal, the full amount of ingredients good, still miss the fried potato bar, regret too full did not eat;

Dropped in here after a walk around the lake. Enjoyed a lovely pint of beer and a plougmans on the outside deck looking over some nice views. Friendly staff, good food and good value for money.

Really lovely hotel. We stayed in the new building behind original hotel. Fantastic would recommend to everyone. Especially liked watching the red squirrels feeding on the nut hangers while having breakfast.

The location is magical.! The food exquisite and bedrooms large chic and comfortable beds. A wonderful experience made more memorable by the good service by staff. We will visit again soon.! 10 /10

Walking round the lake and stopped off for morning coffee/tea. Clean and nice environment. Food well presented. Only problem was the coffee. It looked the part but tasted awful. (Think glass flask. ) You really must invest in proper coffee machine!

Very friendly staff and a lovely spot to stay with all areas very accessible. Comfortable rooms some with fine views of Derwent Water. Food very nice. Been a number of times and love coming back!

A beautiful little getaway tucked on the shores of Derwent Water in the Lake District. I visited there with my brother while on a vacation touring the United Kingdom. It was spring time so the area was lush with green trees and blooming flowers. Of course, given the rainfall that area experiences year round, you are pretty much guaranteed green whenever you go. The hotel was charming! Usually a hotel is a nice place to stay and may be luxurious, but this is one of the few where I wanted to actually linger on the grounds, sit on the patio or in the gazebo, or to sit in the welcoming lounge areas. Of course the room was lovely as well. It had two single beds with some nice views out either window. Of course we were eventually drawn away from the hotel's charm to experience the beauty that is the Lake District! The hotel is conveniently located next to several trails of varying difficulty. Recently (2016) there were some serious floods in the areas that washed out some of the trails. So, keep your eye open for redirection. The hotel is suited for walkers but does not cater to them. For us, being tourists and not familiar with the area, the maps they provided were next to useless. We managed to find a good trail or two online and were able to set out. So, if your plan is to hike I recommend you bring your own maps. The restaurant was delicious and the included breakfast was amazing. The staff were friendly and dedicated.

Stayed just before Xmas when the floods happened so we were stuck in the hotel for the weekend. The staff were all professional and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The food was fantastic with amazing views from the restaurant. Loved it so much we have just been and booked again for this December. So looking forward to it.

Had a decent enough stay here, no complaints but equally nothing special either. View from the bar and restaurant is pretty special but the same cannot be said of the majority of the rooms. Staff were pleasant and helpful for the most part although the 'high speed internet' left a lot to be desired!

We stayed in the new building in room 9, it was quite small but adiquate. The view was nice but as it was facing out over the car park in order to get privacy the curtians needed to be closed most of the time. The food was fantastic as were the staff and the view from the dining room is spectacular.

Whilst the location and setting are wonderful, the food and staff are third rate! Had a cheese sandwich, £5 and was stale. The staff are all foreign and pasty, miserable and poor. The girl who served us tried to take away the food whilst my partner was still eating! Cannot understand employing poor foreign staff, would not return.

I have been coming to the lakes for many years but this is my favorite hotel. It has access to many mountains in the North Lakes area and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The food is excellent and the location is superb. They maintain their standards as I have stayed many times and never been disappointed. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and they even cater well for people with pets.

The restaurant has the perfect setting. The bedrooms have all been refurbished to a high standard. Dogs are welcome which creates a relaxes atmosphere. Real ale is served. Next to Derwentwater. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The prices are very reasonable. A superb location in Borrowdale near Keswick. Why go anywhere else when in the Keswick area.

Very Relaxing stay, peaceful spot on the edge of Derwentwater, a stonesthrow from Catbells peak. Lovely Building, Nice Foid And Very Friendly staff.

Great hotel, brilliant food and the rooms are lovely with amazing views of the Derwent Water. And only 100m from HQ SUP House.
