What a view to wake up to! Just home from a lovely break at the Keswick Country House Hotel. The rooms were great, the food was amazing and the staff were absolutely out of this world, working so hard to make our stay enjoyable even with the social distancing measures, they literally couldn’t have done more. We felt very safe throughout our stay, everything was so well organised and my two little girls loved their little holiday. Can’t wait to go back!

Pleasantly surprised, traditional historic building but bar current and modern with classic cocktails and the restaurant food was exceptional and had a really good selection. Lovely hotel in great surroundings and easy access to the town centre.

The Front Desk Staff, Restaurant Wait Staff and especially the Bar Staff are all amazing! Everyone we spoke to was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
We unfortunately didn't manage to have dinner in the restaurant but it smelled amazing and the breakfast was great.
The hotel grounds are kept immaculate, and the hotel itself is fascinating. We had such an awesome time exploring.
Everything was clean and well-maintained. We will absolutely stay again! One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

Really nice comfortable room, delicious breakfast and beautiful bar and lounge area to sit and relax with a drink or coffee and cake. Beautiful garden area but sadly we didn't get chance to sit outside due to the rain. Easy walking into keswick to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Nice staff. Big place, plenty of arking, short ealk into Market Street.

Comfortable rooms in lovely hotel, great setting. Only downside, we're in a room at the rear and been awake since just after 6am, garbage collection lorry visited, then deliveries with noisy metal crates then deliverers/ staff congregating under my window. Temp is high so window has to be open, would benefit from air con!

Been visiting The Keswick Country House hotel for almost 15 years now. What makes the hotel is the friendly staff. They constantly go above and beyond to ensure guests have a relaxing stay. The food in the restaurant is exceptional and I would always recommend staying for dinner. Looking forward to our next stay.

There was no Wi-Fi in our rooms (or anywhere else in the station wing) for the duration of our stay, which was extra painful as there's no cellphone reception there either. The staff was aware but had no good explanation and made zero effort to otherwise make up for the missing amenity, which was disappointing and just a pretty basic fail as a hotel. Rooms in the station wing were OK. Very large, but they smelled a little funky. Windows barely opened at all so there wasn't much you could do about that, unfortunately.

Just come home from our third stay here and it was again fabulous. Very comfortable room — spotlessly clean and the furnishings are gorgeous. Food in the restaurant is a very high standard and absolutely delicious. The bar is a lovely setting and atmosphere in which to relax. The staff are friendly, professional and very attentive. The service is excellent. The hotel is in a great location for many walks (we did Skiddaw and Little Man this time) and just a short stroll to the heart of Keswick. The hotel also provides a really nice, reasonably priced, packed lunch for those of us who want to eat after climbing up a mountain! Can’t recommend this hotel enough — thank you to the staff for another enjoyable stay!

A lovely hotel, helpful staff and great breakfast.
A couple of negative points, we were only told upon arrival we had to check out an hour earlier than we thought, as there was a wedding on. We were given a complimentary drink to compensate. The housekeeper came into our room at half past eight, whilst we were still in bed and the staff were moving furniture out of the restaurant as we were eating our breakfast. That said, it was a very enjoyable night for my birthday celebration.

Beautiful location, quite close to town centre, short walk (or drive! ) from Derwentwater and the Theatre by the Lake. Food delicious and they do cater for special diets. Gardens are beautiful, although the lawns are looking a bit sorry for themselves after all the sun, and the rabbits! Raining for the last two days, but you can manage to find things to do.

We loved the country hotel. It was relaxing, the bed was comfortable and clean, you had a good choice for your meals and it was always nice and hot. The staff were really lovely, very polite, helpful, nothing was a bother to them. They would always have a smile for you when you approached the dining room and also when you were leaving. This is a great hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food both at breakfast and dinner are fantastic. Rooms are comfortable, clean and relaxing to be in and there seems to be limitless hot water. My advice? Treat yourself. You won't regret it.

Fabulous hotel, had our honeymoon there and going again for Christmas. Food is fantastic. Highly recommend for a great stay with breathtaking scenery.

Just spent a lovely weekend at this hotel and was blown away. Evening meal included that was worth the total payment alone! The chef here needs a raise, top class and extremely tasty. Room was perfect and the view of Skiddaw from the window breath taking. All the staff were very friendly and professional in all they did. Thankyou to you all, will definitely be back again.

Annoying thing is on the morning of checkout, the housekeeping knocked on our door around 10am and we haven't even checked out yet. Parking is limited. Also felt a spiritual presence during the night. Dinner is a winner. Got placed next to the window by the garden, where you can watch the rabbits grazing on the grass. Despite the drawbacks, I would still recommend.

Beautiful room at a good price. Some of the hotel seems a little dated and the buffet breakfast is good but not great. But overall it's been a great stay, friendly staff and a gorgeous room. Would definitely stay again.

I just used the hotel for a low key business business meeting. It was perfect for this. Easy to get refreshments and plenty of space so we were not overheard or in anyone's way.

Went to the Christmas party night, had a brilliant time staff were brilliant. We stopped overnight and found the rooms had been updated, also the main bar area has been updated to a very high standard. Will definitely go back.

3 Stars, but PROUD of it! Unbelievable! I was promised a specific room which I had seen online and and requested, but only after repeated efforts and emails, six months ahead of the requested time. When we arrived, I was shown to the wrong room and one which reeked of fresh paint. When I pointed out all the emails promising me the room I expected, the manager Stephanie (Rogers? ) said that I was being unfair to expect so much from a hotel which was “only 3 stars. ” Really. Her words exactly. When I remarked about the paint smell she surmised that it was a suite (which gets little use because most of her guests can’t afford it? ). She offered to find me another hotel in town and I accepted the offer but she immediately recanted, saying that I should do it myself instead. We decided to stay, thinking that keeping the windows open would eliminate the smell. It did not. The next morning at breakfast we discovered that salt and pepper were available upon request. We were not so lucky when we asked for washcloths and Kleenex in our room. Those are simply not available at this hotel! That’s right. They don’t supply those “luxuries” in their 3 star hotel. Ironically, the building and the grounds are very nice. Other than the manager (Stephanie), the employees were friendly. Perhaps when Stephanie is replaced things will improve. Until then book here at your peril.

Just returned from our 3rd visit this year. The hotel staff were all very welcoming, and friendly as usual. This time we took 2 new visitors with us and they were given the same friendly welcome. They were very impressed and we shall all be returning in the new year. The hotel is in a good location for walking, and the food is excellent. Thank you for making our stay a memorable occasion.

Wonderful Hotel with wonderfully attentive staff we stayed in room 100 junior suite little pricey but great views of the surrounding hills and gardens with modern facilities well worth a stay! Should have given five stars!

Food superb. Refurbished hotel is tasteful. Loses a couple of stars for not being dog friendly, as the receptionist curtly said when I enquired…

Just had another 4 days at the Keswick country house. The staff are so good at their job along with politeness and willingness to help. The Lonsdale restaurant never fails to please. Superb food and served well. The rooms cleaned and well decorated, especially the unique station rooms we, d stayed in the last 11years. Also our last stay at new year was so relaxing and welcoming. The reviews I read were good, but I was a bit worried when I saw the room. Perfectly comfortable, but a bit tired looking. This is understandable — the place is enormous and must cost a fortune to run. On the plus side for the room — fantastic water pressure! Ran a bath in 2 minutes! I had booked half board. I can't remember how much extra it was for dinner, but it was very reasonable. When we saw the menu, any doubts flew out the window! The menu and the food are amazing! We had a wonderful meal overlooking the rabbits playing on the lawn. All the staff — restaurant, bar, reception, were really lovely. Can't wait to return!

We have been regular visitors to this charming hotel for many years, both as a couple and for large family get together and celebrations and never failed to be impressed with the staff, and excellent food on offer.
This is our first visit since the renovations and its absolutely stunning. The ambiance is lovely everything has been done to a very high standard but still in keeping with charm and history of the hotel
The food as usual has been exceptional and very difficult to choose what to have both at breakfast and the evening meal.
Already looking at dates for when we can return.

Went for lunch here and the food was fine. The problem was that okay it did have wheelchair access but I had to pull my father's wheelchair over 25 yards of loose chippings, not an easy task. Got to the ramp and it was not flush so struggled to get the wheelchair on or off the ramp. So we are now in the hotel. Male toilets have three steps down with no handrail. Just pathetic. Were looking to stay for the weekend but obviously this will not be happening, this is 2017 isn't it.

Nice rooms, good breakfast, nice building which is historic and grand. Plus it's in the lively seeing of Keswick. Parking is available at the hotel, but it is limited, I was there mm I'd week so not a problem. I would recommend staying here.

We had a great weekend stay could not fault the food room or friendly staff location of the hotel to town local pubs and shops a great start to do any walking from and with the view we had from our room was to die for I would defiantly go back to stay longer.

Defenitly 5 star hotel. Cant fault this hotel in any aspect. Staff 100%, cleanliness 100% and food amazing. Massive compliments and thanks to the cheff. I have severs anayphylacis and the catering staff went way and above superiour to accomodate my stay with the miminilist of fuss. This has to be the best hotel in keswick without a doubt. Cant praise this hotel enough.

Fantastic food and friendly staff.

The staff are great but poor selection of beers at shocking prices and had difficulty with vegetarian selection on the menus so the reception desk had to ask the chef to prepare something which is a somewhat dated issue these days and surprising to experience. Room old fashioned and in desperate need of a quick makeover but regardless it does the job. Special thanks to Robert and I think it is Sofi ☺

Stayed 3 times now and about to make it 4, excellent breakfast, staff very friendly, rooms I have stayed in so far have been very clean and spacious, handy for town. Have good deals on at certain times of the year.

Just spent the weekend at The Keswick with some friends for the mountain festival. Very impressed. Food, staff, cleanliness — all fantastic.

We spent 5 days at the sister hotel in Blackpool (Cliffs) before going on to Keswick House Hotel. Cliffs was fantastic and Keswick was out of this world! The staff, especially Rob the barman and the reception staf, all the way through to the waiting staff, couldn't do enough for us. They were so kind and friendly. Such a rarity these days. And the food, 5 star food in a 3 star price range! I would compare the food on a par with any 5 star hotel I've stayed in. One small point, it could do with a pianist in the evenings to entertain guests. And the housekeeper needs help to go around all the rooms before 3pm! As a CHOICE HOTEL, it is definitely our choice for Lake District from now on.
