Awful service. Bad parking policy and will not help.

Nice place but having to pay £5 to park in the car park is not good.

Staff tried their best, but we met family at a halfway point, expecting decent quality food, and were sorely disappointed. The "chef" had a few comments via the lovely young waiter, but our ploughman's sandwich for £8 was few tiny slices of ham with chutney and a handful of crisps. Really bland and certainly not the quality of food we'd expected. 😕 The chicken ceasar salad was OK, but minimal chicken or substance. 4 adults, 3 sub standard sandwiches and a poor salad. Not great. Young staff friendly and did their best.

We got afternoon tea for my birthday and it was Lovely could not recommend more we had lovely staff member called phill who looked after us even though he was busy lovely food lovely place lovely people overall a great afternoon!

Frequently visit this hotel with business, Aaron and his bar staff are all very welcoming and professional! The receptionists Rachael and Anca are also equally as helpful and a credit to the hotel.

We booked on a short break package for Peppa Pig World and decided on the Doubletree as I’ve worked for Hilton before and know that they are great at the little touches. This is the first time away for myself and my partner with my son and his daughter (8 and 3). Sophie and her colleague (sorry I didn’t catch your name) went above and beyond for our children leaving a little welcome letter each, colouring bits and little treats. They both absolutely loved it and this made our trip away even more special for them both. Thank you so much!

Staying here with Parrys coach holidays had a wonderful carvery last night Friday lovely breakfast awesome dinner tonight couldn’t have been better restaurant staff was outstanding thank you for making our stay so very good and happy thankyou all so much we was in room 234 wow what a fab room we stayed 30/7 for 2 nights thank you isn’t enough jayne Simpson.

Menu with lots of variety including vegetarian and kosher as well as halaal. Freshly made and large portions. Good atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice spacious rooms.

I stayed recently for 2 nights as part of a coach party visiting the area. The rooms were fairly clean and tidy and the hotel was well presented. However there was a constant smell of what can only be described as a sulphur/egg smell throughout. The smell was particularly bad in our bathroom and in the pool area and especially the ladies changing room. We assumed it must be a back smell from the sewers. Other guests on our coach also mentioned the foul smell.
Our evening meals were lovely on both nights, although I was extremely disappointed to be given a shop bought cheesecake in a plastic tub as dessert on the 2nd evening! The breakfast on both mornings were a farce! It was like something from fawlty towers! And it wasn't funny. The tables were labelled from A to Z but the two male staff couldn't manage to find the guests breakfast correctly even though the breakfasts were ordered the night before. I understand its normally self service and that's suspended due to covid-19 but it was really badly organised and very obvious there was poor inadequate training. This proved extremely embarrassing as my mother-in-law who was companion on this trip was a retired catering lecturer! And the portions were very poor. A teaspoonful of mushrooms, one cherry tomato, a dessertspoon of scrambled egg and the thinnest piece of toast I've ever seen! Obviously the kitchen had run out of food.

Lovely afternoon tea with prosecco for £21 from groupon. Fresh sandwiches and cakes and lovely coffee.

Great position facilities and good sized room. Bar area pretty big. Reception and concierge service top notch.

The hotel is convenient for the A34 and M4 but is not close to the town. Beverage prices are high but the lobby is a nice place to sit. I went there to use the gym. It is small but well equipped. There is also a nice swimming pool, jacuzzi with a steam room and sauna near by.

I'm really very annoyed about receiving a parking fine of £100 today following our visit to the Hilton Newbury North hotel last week. We came for afternoon tea so got a car parking ticket for 2 hours, which we thought would be plenty. Although the waitress was really lovely, the service was very slow, so much so that we were still eating 2 hours after our arrival. Today I received the fine for our car being in the car park just over the 2 hours so that the rest of us could quickly finish eating. This is also despite my husband going out to the car at 2 hours to wait for us. It is not as though this hotel is in the middle of the town centre where parking is an issue. This has really spoilt the whole experience of what was otherwise a really lovely afternoon tea. As a result I would definitely not recommend this hotel to either my friends or on line. I would advise to go elsewhere where car parking is free and you don't need to worry about time if service isn't quick. I have looked and seen that many others have also been stung by car parking fines at this hotel. A nice money maker for the owners of the car park but not good for the customers of the restaurant or hotel.

Clean hotel, decent breakfast. Good night stay. Small car park though… Hence the 4 stars.

Second floor quite nice, old furniture's and moquettes. Restaurant medium low quality and medium high price. Very good for short stay.

Had a nice 3 — course meal, but remember to log in as a visitor with your car registration number at reception or you could get hit with a hefty parking fine!

Sometimes the bed sheets make you feel itchy, bathroom has rust on the shower rail, dustbin, shower head and mould on the ceiling and walls. Rooms need updating. Pennington is a better stay overall.

The General Manager to this hotel is lovely she knows how to operate her team and has them working well. The customer service receptionist to table service was excellent within 5 minutes of walking through the door you are made to feel at home. Excellent.

For a hotel that is renowned for business meetings in its foyer to have work men carrying out noisy work during the day seems more than a little ludicrous. Service was fine but a little slow and when you spend so much on coffee and lunch you should get free parking.

Good location at M4 junction 13. Good food and business facilities.

The hotel is a fair place to stop over between a and b but not really somewhere I would recommend going for a longer stay. The room was clean and adequate without having any real issues. I had a two night stay and found the restaurant varied greatly. The first night was excellent, food and service. After that the service was extremely slow and we had to get the attention of the staff constantly. Others in the restaurant were doing the same and I heard one lady ask if the chef was asleep. Possible staff issues but with a chain this big I don't expect that. The swimming pool was excellent and the gym adequate for our needs. Disappointed to have to pay for parking at £5 a day.

Visited simply to take my baby swimming. Was very quiet and clean. Pool was lovely and warm and the staff were very polite and helpful. More expensive than a normal public pool however, definitely worth paying extra for such a nice clean quiet pool.

Went here for a job interview, the place was crowded with people having meetings. We used two of the rooms and the staff were supposed to supply meals to the interviewers. They had been forgotten despite reminders. I blame them as I didn't get the job… ha ha…

Service was fantastic. Staff are really friendly and always there to help with any quires. The rooms are clean and well planned out. The bathrooms are a bit small but you don't really spend much time in there to be honest. Overall the stay was great and I would recommend it to everyone xxxx.

Visited the Hilton Hotel Newbury North for a Christmas meal and had an enjoyable three course dinner. Food was nice but hotel was a little tired in places. Free car parking for guests too!

BEWARE****** this location has a private carpark and you will be charged £100 if you do not adhere to their policy. I think this is massively unnecessary as it's not even near town. I had a friend who was served a fine. Just because of this, they and I will not return. Shame though one of the finest afternoon teas outside of London.

Poor service for a dilapidated venue. Rude staff in the restaurant, rooms need a good clean, the windows don't close very well. As a result you will hear all of the traffic. Cold room with an electric heater, as the heating does not work. Steam room has never worked all the times I have been. Diamond Hilton members get treated poorly by some front desk staff.

A shame on the name of Hilton… old, worn — out property. I got a room that was colder than the north-pole, and the room temp control did not work. I was told some rooms need that done at the 'backend' (seriously? why do you have a room thermostat? ). My room was changed after an hour, same problem with the other room. Finally they put a room heater inside my room. If that's how they treat gold customers, I shudder at the thought of how regular customers are treated. Avoid at all costs.

I was there for a training course. The staff on reception were polite, well presented, and helpful, as were all the staff. The training/meeting room was clean and the furniture was good quality and in a good state of repair (unlike some courses I have been on where it was both cheap, and clearly very old and worn. ) Small sausage rolls were on a table for a breakfast snack. They were hot, the pasty nice and flaky, and very good, I had four or five, and would have had more but the course started… I am afraid that from then on it went down hill. I visited the gents at 11am and someone had piddled all over the floor in front of one of the urianls. At 4pm the piddle was still there, just dried up, with foot prints. The coffee in the urn was cold by 3pm, and when one of the staff was asked for hot coffee said "I don't understand how it can be cold, I put it out at 11. " To be honest, she did replace it very quickly with coffee that was hot. I understood how it was cold, it was 4 hours old. The above, while some is poor, would only lose half a star, at most. What really lost 2 stars — the 'food. ' The risotto was nasty. Until today I did not know it was possible to have rice that was both overcoocked to the point of being sticky gloop, and yet still be raw in the middle. I know risotto is supposed to be creamy, but this was not creamy, it was like tar, crunchy tar. I had one forkfull, and left the rest. It was also compleatly devoid of any flavour.

Good location but facilities of mixed quality. I was there for a business meeting and the room and set up was good as were the refreshments. The hotel was busy but I expected a higher level of cleanliness particularly bathrooms which were very poor all day.

Wonderful shared space around the bar, very friendly Reception staff. Let down by sub-standard finishes in the bedrooms… cup lids that don't fit, peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, a bathroom bin that wasn't emptied after the previous occupant left.

Service on reception was poor both at arrival and check out. Doubletree welcome cookies were not offered or any of the usual hilton honours benefits. Bed wad uncomfortable. In gerenal the hotel was very tired looking. Only positive was the lovely man who served us at the bar, he was friendly and helpful.

The member of staff who helped us today (chap with a big beard) was absolutely lovely!

Reception nice. But no lift! Stairs smelly! And need upgrade dirty paint coming of scuff marks. Horrible! Room was small bed was supposed to be queen and wasn't! Bathroom was good. Had to have lager or cider on draught NO bitter etc! Been going to Hilton hotels for many years now. This has to be the worse! Tardy! One thing will say in its favour. The staff were always attentive and polite.

Great hotel nice facilities. Shame no lift but helpful and freindly staff. Unfortunately large party of families with young children with interesting parenting style.

I attended the hotel for a professional conference. The hotel was easily located close to the services. The conference room was pleasant and the service was excellent. Refreshments provided all day included tea and coffee, breakfast pastries and yoghurt and cakes in the afternoon. Lunch was provided in the restaurant and was outstanding — the restaurant and staff were excellent. Would recommend the hotel as a good conference location.

We had a private room for a family event/meal celebrating my Dad's 70th Birthday. Everything was just perfect. Lovely food and wonderful staff. Few little extra touches too, which made it extra special. Thank you :)

I was here for a business meeting in the lounge which was very comfortable with a nice ambience. The staff were friendly very attentive. Not much more I could have wanted at that time…

Very clean, friendly staff. The pool was closed, other than that, it was perfect.

Great hotel with good food and all the amenities you could want in the room. The only complaint is that the TV system they have isn't very user friendly. I would return though.

Very convenient location, fine service and ambience and surprisingly inexpensive menu. Only negative is that even as a customer you have to pay to park.

Location is very bad. Between the highways. Rooms are usually cold. But it has a gym, and food is nice.

Reasonable hotel, clean and we'll kept. Few things nearby, no public transport links, and parking is not free. TVs prevent use of HDMI input, too.

Stayed there overnight during the 2016 student robotics competition, staff let us use a spare function room to test our robot, my only negative was the lack of free Wi-Fi, other than that the stay was fine.

Friendly staff, tidy room, nice pool. Better communication needed, our waiter didn't know what the carvery was : ( Bathrooms always seem to let hotels down and that was true here. Tatty. Location was good, couldn't hear the M4 traffic at all.

Excellent venue, the staff where very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is easy to locate but there are no shops near by. On my arrival the toalet wasn't clean and it wasn't only my room like that. We been there as a group from the company and we didn't feel welcome there. We could see that individual guests are treated better. I just give 2 stars because some of the staff members ware ok otherwise will be 1.

As a member of the Livingwell gym, I regularly go to the Hilton Newbury North. During the day the lounge area always appears to be busy with people meeting up and concluding business deals. The lounge area is very bright and welcoming. The gym is also very good, albeit a bit small. They have all the standard machines and a selection of free weights. The pool and spa are always in use. The steam room and sauna are a very welcome addition.

A very average 3 star hotel.

Stayed in room 221 — toilet seat was to small for the toilet. Shower was Luke warm for 7 minutes then went cold. Rooms were incredibly warm. There was a used condom on the grass outside. The food was outstanding though.

Visited the hotel on business and had a poor experience with breakfast, the scrambled eggs were off, and the replacement was cold. However, the staff were excellent and did all they could to rectify the situation.

Walking into the hotel with my wife we were met with an amazing lobby with comfortable sofas and inbuilt tvs as well as a central open fire. The restaurant area was presented and decorated very well even though the menu could have had a bit more to offer. Breakfast was good, we were offered a soft drink on arrival and there was lots of choice on offer.

The room was large. It was big enough to be comfortable for a mother with her 2 children. There was plenty of room for everything. The bathroom was large and spacious. All in all a great stay.
