We did an early check out and the receptionist had additional valet parking added to our bill — to be precise he added 4 additional vehicles when the one parked was already covered! My friend and I were guests of a very exclusive wedding party hosted at the mayflower, which included vouchers for valet parking! We had to be at the airport at 6:15 in the morning and instead of billing the bridal party, he billed US an additional 600$ for parking without our consent! The wedding was amazing and the hotel venue was great but the receptionist was not just very unprofessional in charging OUR account but he was also exceptionally rude and presenting an attitude! We will definitely not come back nor recommend the mayflower hotel!

Superb location, easy to get to by the subway from Union Station with friendly staff and excellent facilities. Highly recommend it as a place to stay when visiting Washington DC.

Went there today for a wedding I first arrived for a wedding to get my daughters done, I arrived with food asked valet to valet to valet my valet car but because I had food in my hand she thought I was Uber she automatically thought I was delivery instead of asking complete discrimination and argued with me and pushed me off to front desk. When I went to front desk and told them they pushed me to valet I told them I told valet and they looked at me like I was stupid! After they noticed I was there for a wedding they said oh ok! Then apologized but because they had too not they meant it! This isn’t it when when got to wedding one of the ushers was overly rude and told us you have to put to stroller there, as a guest of a wedding that the bride a groom who spent over 30k you speak to this way it’s unacceptable, we are in the food service industry, this was unacceptable you do not speak to a guest with a infant this way! We were not in anyones way! The wedding planner the hotel concierge did not take care of it the gentleman did not even apologize. Unprofessional. I’m sorry for a wedding that a dear friend of mine who paid a pretty penny and have this service is beyond unacceptable.

The restaurants in the hotel are not open as promised. We received a room in the middle of a wedding party and the beds are not very comfortable.

Nice place. I loved this hotel before pandemic, but everything is now (appropriately) closed and its deserted and quiet and a little spooky with its long empty and quiet hallways.

Enjoyed a four-night stay here over the 4th of July weekend. Our suite was very comfortable, quiet, and private. Well-equipped, with the exception of a coffee-maker which we would have appreciated. The restaurant had a great breakfast. The location here is convenient to Dupont Circle, downtown, and the Metro. I highly recommend the Mayflower.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff is so friendly and always wanting to please their guests. Easy check in and even got free bottled water for the wait! The hotel is a perfect location for anyone who want so to be in the middle of it all! DuPont Circle and the White House are under 20 min walks from the hotel and many restaurants to chose from around the hotel. Currently in a king suite for my 4 night stay and it is gorgeous! No regrets on booking this hotel for my stay.

We stayed last Friday to Sunday on the 9th floor. Great location to go around DC. The room was spacious for 4 people. The bed was very comfortable, the AC was a little bit noisy maybe need some replacement but it doesn't bother me that much. The internet was fast. The breakfast was okay, not much choices especially for kids. My kids enjoy the juice cups and the coloring pages from the restaurant. Our Wi-Fi and breakfast were included when we booked using AAA discount.

Gorgeous hotel, very accommodating bar downstairs. You'll notice the wide hallways right away — a great signal that you're in for a very comfortable stay. Really quiet rooms, just stayed a night but slept great.

Wonderful place to stay right in the middle of all the action! Great service. Attached restaurant has wonderful service. I had a delicious flat bread pizza which was unique and very tasty! I will choose the hotel again.

Not my favorite part of DC but it is one of the better Marriott properties in downtown DC. Better than the Renaissance but still can’t beat the Marquis as far as in-house restaurants and kindness of the staff go. The average room sizes are rather small but are acceptable. Views of nothing out the windows. Concierge lounge is fine but not great. Well stocked but food is boring.

I attended a Posh Party Live event at the hotel. The entryway is beautiful, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Did not spend more than a couple of hours but the time I spent was very enjoyable. Loved the decor. I do think the valet parking was very steep at $34 but then I dont do that often, maybe that's the going rate in D. C. I hope to return again soon. The refreshments were delightful as well. Crab balls yum!

The hotel is great, centrally located, surrounded by several dining venues. The double rooms are spacious, with separate beds at a square and a half. Ours was in the rear wing, a bit noisy because of the air conditioning facilities abroad (or similar stuff). The Wi-Fi is also great. Breakfast on a menu but plentiful.

We stayed on the Marriott floor. Rooms are very nice and very comfy but had a few issues. Hot water takes at least 10 minutes to get which is really sad. I also had a issue with trying to get shampoo. I got into the shower and realized the cleaning person never left shampoo. I had to call down to the front desk five times finally after speaking to the mgr on the second go around they brought shampoo up after at least 30 minutes. I was told the front desk never passed any of my requests on to whoever the request should have went to… pass the buck. They say they have a door man but he is nonexistent. I think he was there once during our stay;. Check in is at 4 we arrived at five and the room was still not ready although they did buy us a drink at the bar while we waited.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was across the street from the DC Improv, which is perfect. Literally everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was an error on my bill which front desk correctly immediately. Room service arrived earlier than expected which was terrific. We will definitely stay at Mayflower Hotel again.

What a phenomenal hotel. The hotel is located in a great location to see and do so much in a walking distance. Great food at the hotel restaurant. The customer service was top notch. The room was a very large room with a refrigerator and a nice size bathroom. The hotel decor and exquisite and the ball rooms. I suggest go to the second floor and the history of this hotel is amazing.

Famous DC hotel… They've done a good job restoring the hotel to its grand luster. They upgrade returning guests and it is part of the Marriott Hotels Autograph Collection. Rooms are spacious traditional, and well appointed. Restaurant is decent but there is a ton in the area where you can go to get out of the hotel. It is also steps from Farragut North Metro Station so accesa to transit is super easy.

It’s a very nice hotel aesthetically, but certain service aspects could use some improvement. Although we did receive a nice room upgrade, some of the staff at the bellhop stand and in the lounge weren’t very friendly. The food in the lounge was also unimpressive, especially when compared to the quality at the nearby Georgetown Marriott. Finally, when we requested a bellhop to checkout, we waited 20 minutes even early in the morning when no one else was leaving/arriving. That should be unacceptable for any Marriott. Highly recommend you consider the Georgetown Marriott as an alternative, as it was better in almost every way.

Great, a little pricey the breakfast.

The Mayflower was a beautiful hotel. My girlfriend (now fiancee) we're celebrating our engagement and the hotel staff were gracious enough to have champagne delivered to the room, along with chocolates, and absolutely top-notch touch. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Here for a conference so this is based on the food offered as well as service provided and facilities. This hotel is special and unique in its grandeur of architecture. The rooms are authentic in feel going back at least a century. The food served, especially in a venue like this with many events simultaneously occurring, was on the higher end. If you're able to stay here or pay a visit, you'll not be disappointed.

Nice but not great. Stay at the JW Marriott instead. Check in took forever, no coffee makers in the room, house keeping is well below standards and staff seems uninterested in what is going on at the hotel. Housekeeping skipped my room more than a third of the time & service consistently missed items. Apparently security is an issue too, don’t leave valuables in room. Rooms are smaller than you might expect but forgivable since it’s so old. Bar/restaurant is standard with not much character. Pink store in lobby should be converted into a bar. Overall, disappointing. Management seems oblivious.

Historical hotel. We have been stayed there every year while my husband’s annual meeting held there. People rarely use the gym where is nice. Historical panels displayed all over the hotel which are interesting to take a look. Don’t forget to check at room 776.

Very nice hotel in downtown/midtown DC. Came here for a work conference. Check in was fast and staff were all friendly. Rooms are very nice (autographs on the wall, hence the name). Spacious room with nice size bathroom, nice toiletries, and adequate closet (not very large though). Very comfy bed and pillows. Fairly pricey, but DC is overall and they are competitively priced.

Our room was great. Staff was kind and went over the top to accommodate our needs. Saw dogs so pet friendly. The bar was nice And drinks were reasonable. Valet parking only. Breakfast was awesome!

Great hotel. Many interesting people lived here. Starbucks Coffee is free on the 7th floor from 8am!

This place is fabulous. The rooms are cool. But what makes this place fantastic is the entire staff. The doormen, the front desk staff, the staff in the Edgar. They are all more than cordial and go out of their way to be courteous. I enjoyed my stay in Washington DC because of your staff! Thumbs up!

Fantastic bar, people, and amenities! We were celebrating an anniversary and the hotel staff made us feel very welcome! I'm a regular gold/normally platinum guest at Marriott and SPG properties. This is one of the mpst interesting and historical locations I have ever stayed. Big fan! Great gym and elite lounge too! Notable highlights: -great gym -fantastic lounge appetizers in the lounge -nice staff -amazing rooms -comfortable beds.

Just plain and simply a very nice hotel. Excellent service and a positive attitude from everyone. A doorman named Frank who is top notch. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Price is what you'd expect for this part of DC. Convention and meeting services are very good. Walking distance to all the major attractions. And the restaurant isn't bad either. The hotel has history and it's worth taking a few minutes to learn about.

Location was the primary reason we choose this property. It was within walking distance of four and five star restaurants. It was even raining and there was little hesitation to walk to dinner. The hotel staff were good, not great. High end places, I would assume they would have a proper doorman and conceirge services. They were there but didn't seem very proactive in providing a five star experience. Room was clean and we'll decorated. We had a suite with living room and foyer, which was very spacious with the exception of the bathroom. It was a three star bathroom at best. I would definitely come back. But primarily for the location.

We've stayed at this hotel several times over the years, and we've never had anything but a great experience. The staff is great, the facilities are great, and so are the restaurants. We had one issue with our bed this stay and mentioned it to the front desk and they were very accommodating. The location is really good too. All in all, it's a great place to stay with old school class all the way.

Located a half block from the Farragut North metro station is this historic, elegant, regal and famous hotel. Since the 1920s it has hosted presidents, diplomats, VIPs, the elite and those who prefer a unique experience. Parking, the bar, Pink's and the restaurant are expensive. Service is good but not always great. For those attending an event, meeting or convention, you will walk away with an impressive experience. The public areas are finely detailed, art deco inspired, and an antique lovers paradise. Be sure to walk around and read some of the historic references that are posted on the walls. Some tourists arrive just to take pictures. Hopefully it will continue to be maintained as a cherished landmark.

Hotel was gorgeous, as was our suite. However, we did find a half-eaten candy bar and a special "hair" on the toilet lid. Room was NOT ready at 5:00pm for a Gold Elite member in a suite… no offer of gesture of good faith, so was disappointed. Received a voucher for a drink or appetizer if I visit the concierge desk 8a-8p. It was empty at 6:45pm. Upon checkout, the valet service was a disaster. There was no real strategy… they'd just return to the lobby with keys in hand, walking up to every family asking what kind of car they had. My car was brought to the front, but we had to walk around searching for which valet person had my keys. You'd think a valet-only property would have an efficient valet service. Generally speaking, for a hotel of this caliber, we found service to be sup-par, perhaps because of our young age, despite Gold Elite (mid-tier) status. Maybe it's assumed we won't tip well? (We did, against our better judgement).

I was in DC on business and was booked at the Mayflower. The hotel was great. Rooms are small but I was not in the room too much. I had a club level room, but the club was always rather crowded. Very great location. Walking distance to White House, shopping, and dining. Very historic & beautiful.

A very nice hotel, with friendly staff. I stayed here for a conference. The State Department had a briefing while I was staying, so part of the hotel was on lockdown while some foreign officials came in a side door. Very nice hotel room, with a large comfortable bed, and nice bathroom. My only complaint was my room was immediately adjacent to the elevator, and I could hear a whooshing sound every single time an elevator went up or down. If I was in any other room I don't think I would have heard it though.

My wife had her company holiday party here in the state room. It was a very nice, upscale venue with good food. Also had drinks at Edgar afterward, which is a nice space to have an after party. Although I think we were a little roudy and made some of the patrons unhappy.

What can I say? A magificent and historic place to stay in DC. Room, service, food, check in/ check out… all fabulous. Attended a wedding in the State and Grand Ballroom… amazing. Located next to so many notable places and attractions it's just stupid convenient. So much good to say. Thank you so much, I had a blast!

You cannot beat the Mayflower for location and beauty. The lobby and room are among the prettiest in DC. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The hotel is in easy walking distance of great restaurants and DC's top landmarks. The concierge lounge offers a wonderful breakfast as well as substantial food in the evening. I had a great stay and can't wait to go back.

We had our wedding at the Mayflower recently and everything was perfect! The amazing staff really made our special day one to remember. Drayton the event coordinator and Kathy the banquet manager made sure everything went as planned. They worked with us closely and fulfill our request without hesitation. On our special day, the food was great, staff were accommodating, and everything went beyond our expectation. Thank you!

I stayed at the Mayflower on my first trip to DC, and the location was very convenient for the tourist attractions. I ate at the Edgar both nights, and was plenty satisfied both times. The room was not particularly big, but it had all of the usual things I would expect.

Fabulous, luxury hotel! We used Vacation Club points for our stay. 8th floor Club Room is well staffed with friendly people and the food/snacks are tops! Only complaint is that it gets very crowded in the mornings for breakfast… since breakfast was included with our stay and delicious, can't complain too much!

This is great historic property that I enjoyed staying at immensely. They did a really good job with the renovations and the staff I encountered were great. I would definitely stay here again.

Went and delivered food for guests and immediately noticed attention to detail from bellhops to security and barnone professionalism. Awesome place if you ask me. Whatever the price of stay. Well worth it.

We ate at the Edgar Bar and Restaurant and while the food and drinks were delicious, the service was sub par. Our reservation for 12 had been listed as zero and it took the hostess a while to even find it, despite giving our name (which was apparently on there) but because the number didn't match, she seemed to assume that couldn't be our reservation. Eventually, she reluctantly found some staff to set up our table, but had to put us in the bar area, which was OK, but kind of loud. They had to put together smaller tables to make a larger one (which was fine) but we sat in the booth with one less table for nearly 10 minutes before they brought the final table so the whole of our party could finally order drinks, and this was only after multiple prompts. We did not have a proper server, and even the bar staff rarely came by to see about drinks, so we went about 30 minutes without service. When someone did come by, we had to ask for food menus, after which the service was more normal, although the server did not stop by to refill water or check on drinks during our dinner. After dinner we went to an event in the hotel and returned for late night drinks. The food was still good, but the service was just as dismal, even with very few people in the restaurant. We were seated promptly, with almost the same amount of confusion with tables for 12 people from earlier.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was classic but modern and updated. The staff was nice and helpful (even the security guard who answered questions when the concierge wasn't around). The bar is small, but perfect for grabbing a drink on the way back in after a night out. The bedroom was wicked comfortable, pillows were a bit soft but I just don't like feather pillows (I usually bring my own pillow). My biggest complaints have to do with the room itself and it is small maintenance things that should've been dealt with. One of the dresser drawers was broken, which made it difficult to open and close; the shade didn't go up, it had the mechanism but was missing the string that pulls it up and down; and there was a mouse trap behind the bed, I guess maybe I just felt it should be hidden away and not where I might see it or touch it. Anyways loved this hotel, would've been better with a pool! I would definitely stay again.

Spent 3 beautiful nights in this amazing place. Staff was wonderful from the time they welcome you until the time you leave. I can't really say enough good things about this place. Classy, unique and warm. I highly recommend it.

We were very impressed with how courteous and efficient everyone was, from the bellmen to the front desk. The room was very comfortable and accommodating, with plenty of extra room to stretch out. We would definitely consider staying at this location again the next time we are in DC.

This hotel is not worth the price. The price is just too high compared to the quality you get. Even though it clearly has been updated a little here and a little there (definitely not highest quality of work) it will soon be in need of a major overhaul. The breakfast was alright, but just alright — have had much better in cheaper hotels. This is not the place for a luxurious stay, even though the location is great. There are nicer Marriott's in close proximity to this hotel. Will not be returning to this hotel. I wanted to give it two stars but the hotel isn't bad, it's just not what you expect from an autograph collection hotel.

5 Star Hotel with a very sophisticated setting.

Iconic setting with an unparalleled history replete with scandals aplenty — but the standard rooms are rather "meh". Suites and upgrades are substantially nicer. Breakfast at the Edgar seems to be pretty popular with lobbyists and those they lobby. Take a moment and visit the Palm Court where J. Edgar ate the same lunch everyday for thirty years and was once accosted there by a nazi spy.

Really enjoyed staying here. Comfortable beds, nice rooms, fun little happy hour treats in the lobby every day. Great location!

Great location, couple block from the white house. Amazing atmosphere within the hotel, once you walk in, it feels like a totally different place. Rooms are spacious and nice, we stayed in the executive suite and it was really nice.

It's located on posh downtown DC. A mile walk from the nation mall. It's a classy hotel that charges about 55 buck for 24 hour parking. Samrt choice is a junior suite. Because you'll be out of the room all day. However if you want the luxurious go with the executive suite. They have a bar — Edgar's opened till 2 am. Coffee and tea provided in the mornings. Overall not a bad place to stay if you're a fan of DC and all of the national monuments!

The mayflower hotel was old but nice. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Was there for the cannashow and conference and we were treated professionally as we should. Small but spacious and was definite a great venue.

We went to see the Intimate Illusions from Ivan Amodei, it was a great show. Just the seating would have been numbered preferably to make it easier for access. But great show super enjoyed it and they had complementary water and you could get alcoholic drinks too. Very kid friendly.

I stayed in the sixth floor and the receptionist was very nice. The bar was full so qui service was a little slow. Had a big out.

One of the last Hotels with a certain History and Charm. I always had a good time staying here. Everybody is always friendly and up for a chat if you feel like it.

It was a nice hotel… lot of history… one problem is that my key card didn't work. There wasn't a vending machine for a pop or anything… very bad water pressure… saw a dude sleeping by the elevator almost nude… nice big bathroom and my room had a terrible view… saw a building and industrial stuff. The staff was nice though.

The hotel was beautiful. The main lobby had lots of decorative lights and trees for the holidays. Checking in was pretty easy and quick. The actual room was very nice and included high quality amenities and service. Even the coffee was not included in the rooms, the hotel was still able to provide good coffee in the lobby. The only downer would be the 13$ Wi-Fi charge per 24 hours and the cost of the parking (50, no valet).

Staff very friendly and helpful for first time visitors. The location is somewhat convenient, only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest subway stations. The rooms are stylish and clean, serviced daily without fail. Overall a pleasant experience.

Nice hotel with a really good location in the heart of DuPont circle, when I take friends to DC we usually stay here so we can bar hop and don't have to take an Uber all around town.

Questionable cleanliness of bed linen. Comformation email of the booking was very wasn't specific about the room we were suppose to have and check in was a little difficult. Would have been better if they had a pool. One great thing I can take away from this hotel is that it is close to everything.

This was a great hotel! They made every effort to make sure we were happy and accommodated. Gemma was working the front desk and was so pleasant to work with! Azi was our concierge and did a wonderful job of making sure we ended up on the correct bus tour and even gave us an extra ride on a different one so that we didn't have to walk. She was so helpful! This hotel is on the same block as a CVS and the Metro North station. The room was really nice as well. I loved looking at the autograph collection on the wall paper. I will GLADLY stay here again. (The ONLY drawback was that they were doing road construction in the front of our hotel. We stayed on the 4th floor and they didn't begin until 7 each night. First night they were using the jackhammer, until midnight at least. All week there was machinery or voices that we were able to hear. If the other parts of the hotel had not been so wonderful we would've requested a change. )

My husband and I just stayed here as it was our honeymoon and we know that all Marriott properties our nice. The Mayflower Renaissance far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel until we sadly had to leave, the hospitality was impeccable! We will definitely be coming back to this property to celebrate our 1 year anniversary as we would not even consider anything else. Honestly, I didn't stay here. I went to a conference that was located at this hotel. In the conference email, we were advised to use valet parking since it was limited in this area. I'm not accustomed to using valet especially for a (to me) steep $28 charge. But nonetheless, my company had agreed to reimburse me the cost. At the end of the night (around 9PM when nobody else was retrieving a car), I had to wait a half an hour for my car. The worst part was when I approached the valet attendant, he corrected me in saying "You have not waited a half an hour, you have waited 25 minutes which is the standard waiting time. " What? Seriously, that's the standard waiting time and you're really using a 5-minute window to correct me? I could have walked a couple miles to get my car in the amount of time I waited. I think what bothered me the most was the aggressive response to my requesting my car which I believed to be completely validated. I was so annoyed, I didn't tip. Which I kinda felt bad afterwards. I'm hoping this was an isolated issue.

I was so excited to go with my husband who had to attend a conference there for work. A little couple's getaway. The lobby was gorgeous and the staff was friendly. Now for the rest. We are accustomed to staying with the Hilton chain. There Hampton line is great for family trips and as a couple we often get great rates on the garden inns for couple's getaways. For those who have been to the Hilton you know that the lobby always has warm cookies, tea and coffee there for you without a fee. I was so disappointed when there was NOTHING to greet me in the way of refreshments when I went to the check in counter. Then there was the poor quality of our room including the dead fly stuck to the ceiling, stained pillow cases, dirty sticky carpet, cold drafty room, noisy to the point of me not sleeping for three days (I am no princess I can sleep almost anywhere), no Wi-Fi (unless you want to pay for it) and no continental breakfast unless you want to pay $30. Each. The room was expensive enough (double what the Hilton would cost) more then $600. For 3 days. I would not recommend this hotel. I am glad I did not have to pay for it.

A great place to host your company's meeting or conference. It's a legendary, if not infamous DC hotel that will undoubtedly impress your guests. Despite its high brow status, the staff is very friendly and down to earth.

Keep in mind, I grew up in a small town in Virginia, and another small town in Florida. My experiences in D. C. Is limited, and the parking routine at a hotel in the city is pretty foreign to me. I stayed here during an interview in D. C. And the hotel overall is amazing, very clean, beautiful rooms, and great location. Great trip overall. UNTIL I go to checkout. They had my mini bar charges up to $150. Never opened the mini bar. Ok harmless mistake. I look at my parking bill. It was OVER $350. I said, WAIT. When I pulled up to the hotel, there was no sign explaining the cost of parking. The guy took my keys, I asked how much and he just smiled and said "have a nice day". I'm like Ok, I guess it's complimentary and part of the hotel cost. Nope. I lost it. I asked the manager, who was no help. Refused to admit there was no sign outside. I walked her out front to show there was no sign and she said "well it's supposed to be out here. " Meanwhile the foreign parking/valet drives are whispering about me "of course it's not free" "how could you not know that" "stupid b*tch". Oh well I'm sorry, I'm clearly not as sophisticated as you. So disrespectful. I was enraged after leaving. I've never been treated that way in my entire life.

The room was fine size wise but everywhere you looked there was tacky decrepitude. Peeling wall paper. Rusty appliances. Dirt in the corner of the bathroom. A hair on the bathtub. Couldn't check in when I walked in because their systems were down for maintenance.

Beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable are my words to describe the 3 nights we stayed with my daughter and her family. Our rooms were "adjoining" so easily shared our 3 grandchildren from one spacious room to another. The staff was professional, helpful and treated us like royalty. The dining room was extremely convenient with excellent food, priced similar to every other restaurant in the area, with a very nice children's menu. We rode the subway to the Smithsonian on a rainy day and walked to everything else on the sunny day. We parked in a garage across the street for $25 per day. I look forward to staying there again.
