Overall good hotel for the price and location. King room was huge ac got super cold (just the way we like it). No front desk I found that awkward but it was fine. Was able to drop off our luggage before check in since we arrived in town early.

Absolutely disgusting. There was a long black hair in the bed. The bathroom had little hairs everywhere. One of the towels had black spots on them. The shower curtain had black stuff on it. The towel in the picture shown here had hairs on it. This place is just disgusting. I called the front desk about it and the lady didn't seem to think it was a big deal. If you are looking for a clean place to stay, this is not it. Edit: I took some more pictures of what I described above.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of our needs. The room was very classy and cozy, and the bathroom was comfortable. The shower was great too, water gets really hot and pressure was perfect. My only complaint, which isn't much of a complaint, is that the toilet was too small. I had to "hold my stuff" in the morning. But other than that I enjoyed my stay. I will also add that the coffee was some of the best coffee I have ever had and this spot is right in the middle of a nice area with a lot of restaurants and some hot spots. We will be staying at Hotel RL again in the future!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is a pet friendly hotel. The room given to us was spacious and included a kitchenette. We love the location of the hotel itself; it is close to the metro line and around other amenities. The bathroom was a decent size — no complaints there. We enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend to friends and family.

My room was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is close to a lot of things and an easy metro ride to Union Station. The staff is really friendly. I don’t know why people are complaining about the check in, so it’s a tablet and not a giant desk and computer — it was still friendly and efficient I would stay here again.

Price is good. Amenities are passable. The bed is super comfortable and the room large enough for a game of squash. (Do people still play squash? ) Bar in basement in fun but a total dive with karaoke on Saturday nights. All around good deal and location.

It was a surprise, right in the heart of the city. It is not one of those flashy hotels with massive lobby and extravagance. But it is welcoming change for people who want hotel amenities at a lower rate. Rooms are large, comfortable beds. Bathroom is quaint, offers good quality of personal hygiene items. Rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator.

Bathroom needs to be updated, I can tell the shower was not properly clean. Although, the hotel was in a great location such as 15min from the White House and the Lincoln memorial, staff was understaffed. As we arrived, the person working the front desk came off rude when checking in, he would answer my questions with smart remarks. He also wanted to rearrange the double queen size bedroom that I had reserved prior to arriving to Washington to a a less convenient room. He stated “we are a little booked today”. I found that very unprofessional due to the fact that I had made reservations in advance. It was very upsetting because this was our first trip to Washington.

Our client Ron Herron stayed here after a performance in D. C. And loved it! The property is very modern and elegant, and very close to everything downtown. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly (even after 2am! ) We look forward to staying with you again!

Had a friend stay here during her visit to DC. The reception staff was nice, if not also a bit amateur (no one seemed to know how to make a coffee at breakfast time). Otherwise, the experience was cordial and sufficient.

Rooms were nice and the staff were courteous. The hotel also has a nice proximity to a lot of nearby restaurants. However, there were HVAC problems causing immense heat and the housekeeping staff seemed to like to cut corners as often I would come back to my room and find that most of the pillows from my bed had been left on the floor.

Nice staff and friendly too. A wee bit noisy from outside trucks etc at times. Good location.

Nice hotel. The room was nice, clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had trouble with the Wi-Fi, the signal seemed weak or something. But we didn't really need it either. Overall I would stay here again.

My family and I were pleased with Hotel RL. Manny was so friendly and helpful. The building can only work heat OR air so we were a little stuffy for spring, but we cracked a window and were fine. We did not expect a full service hotel (check in, breakfast etc) because it is a boutique hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable and an efficient use of space. Pleased with parking garage directly beside the hotel with 24 hour access and the pricing was fair, as a seasoned DC traveler would know. We will keep this on our DC list.

Excellent attentive staff who make you feel like you've come home each evening and greet you with a friendly face in the morning. Very comfy beds and huge working desks. Rooms by the street can be noisy but I will return purely because the staff are so kind and genuine.

Hotel not great, when you enter it doesn't even look like a hotel, the staff however is very friendly, you can get some bikes for free, the room is very big and the bathrooms very small, good cleanliness and good the location a four steps from the house White and monuments, the Metro is very close.

Stayed for a long weekend getaway. Chose due to the proximity to monuments and the price was better than staying outside the city. Very friendly staff. Room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Bathroom could have been bigger but was an excellent place to stay.

Weirdly wonderful. It's a boutique hotel. E. G. There's no front desk and the employees wear casual attire so you walk into the small lobby and sometimes there is someone to greet you, other times they're just other guests hanging out and the employees happen to be out of sight in the back corner office leaving newbies flummoxed. (Hint: Go to the door of the office and say hello. ) That said, I'm now staying there for the 3rd time so I obviously like the place. The star of the staff is named Manny and I doubt you will ever have the pleasure of dealing with a friendlier, more capable individual than him. I withheld one star because they don't have a restaurant, but on the plus side (at least in my book) they used what could've been their front desk for a very nice coffee shop with some bakery goodies and there are several chain restaurants in the same block that offer at least breakfast and lunch so one needn't travel far to get the most important meal of the day. Another plus for those subject to per diem limits is that (at least for this trip) their rate is well below what's allowed which, frankly, I don't understand as it's clean and in decent condition. By this spring a new upscale restaurant is scheduled to open next door which will add to the list of good dinner restaurants already within walking distance.

We had a great stay at Hotel RL. The room was very affordable, well furnished and comfy. Right near a ton of great restaurants and bars and only a few blocks from Dupont Circle. Our only complaint was that there didn't seem to be any AC in our room, so it got a little warm.

Did not enjoy my stay here. First when I came into the room the window was left open and the room was freezing. The thermostat was set on cool at 60. Then I turned on the heater to 70degrees like a normal person since it's the middle of the winter but the heater was broken and the room was 90degrees all night. There was one staff member who was in the backroom so really how would they know they had a customer. She was very nice. The door was locked and another guest had to let me in and mind you it was close to 1am and I drove all night. If you are with family and driving into D. C. I would not recommend this hotel. Go somewhere else.

Only reason I’m giving the hotel two stars instead of one is because we really enjoyed the doorman, Manny. Other than that, it was terrible. There’s no front desk, just a little table with an iPad. No free breakfast like what was advertised or coffee, and the AC and heat in the room do not work. Only way my fiancé and I had any relief from the stuffy room was to open our window. Also, we were charged a fee for incidentals and parking before check out, without anyone explaining to us that we would be charged and what for. I had to go downstairs and ask someone why we were being charged $40 more than advertised on top of an additional charge for $65. Be prepared to be woken up by 8 am every morning by drills, hammers and loud noises from the construction that takes place as well. This hotel is unorganized and although it was a decent price, save your money and go spend the extra dollars at another hotel.

Le —: A little busy business district in the evening, just 2-3 resto. Insulation with the other rooms good but average with the outside; We're trying to get the cars and the sirens.

Was a nice hotel in general. We booked 2 separate rooms. Needed more thorough cleaning though: under coffee table had smashed candy and chips, the pull out sofa had a candy wrapper within the sheets, the other pull out sofa didn't have a top sheet. The continuous noise of the garbage trucks in the alley outside our windows in the wee morning hours made it absolutely impossible to sleep. The workers were all very friendly and helpful.

I got a hotel room at a really good deal. Booked through Expedia and it was a last minute deal. The room was very clean and spacious, they have free Wi-Fi. There is no breakfast but there is coffee and a barista for additional cost. They don't have an on-site gym but they do partner with golds and la. I would come back to the hotel and recommend to anyone.

This was by far the worse hotel I have ever stayed in Dc. The rooms were nothing like they looked online, amenities are very outdated. While on my stay I was awaken at 8am due to construction labor going on the hotel. When I complained to the front desk he was very rude and informed next at 9am they will be running a fire alarm test. When you run a business it is up to you to accodmenate your guest and that is not by waking them up with no prior warning. I have videos of how loud the noise was that I will be posting on other sites.

This hotel will be coming of the hotel list I keep for travel in Washington. One of my colleagues stayed here on 12/4th — 5th and it was the worst hotel he's ever been at. No AC as per hotel staff, temp in room was 80 degrees. He asked for a different room and although he got one the general attitude from the staff was not what one should expect. New room was still hot and also at 80 degrees. Since hotel has no AC was advised by staff to open the window. He slept with the window cracked although that provided no relief from the heat. Only relief came from shower as there was no hot water. When asked about when morning coffee would be served was told 6 am by a staff member although coffee is not served till 7 am. Was down for coffee next morning at 6 am to find no coffee. This hotel has a 3.5 rating but it is far worse than any of the 2 star rated hotel my colleagues have stayed at. My guys are not picky whatsoever but this has been the worst in the 3 years I have been arranging travel for my colleagues. At $200 a night this hotel is a travesty!

I am very surprised by the high rating on this "hotel". There is no front desk, there are no amenities. I sincerely wish I would've gone with an air bnb or a holiday inn because they are equivalent accommodations that have more features such as continental breakfast or a quaint environment such as an airbnb. Save your money. I won't be back.

It’s a beautiful hotel, the only reason for a 2 star was because I never saw any staff! And when I did see any, they were very rude and never even acknowledged our presence! If you are too bothered by customers, maybe you shouldn’t be in customer service. Just a thought! All of that aside, Manny, the door man, was very helpful with getting us checked in and making sure we were all set! Thank you Manny for being so friendly!

Very central to the main monuments, is comfortable and economic.

Excellent location. Very spacious rooms with 2 comfortable beds and 1 huge armchair where you can sleep another person more quietly. They give coffee and complimentary flavored water at reception. Excellent price and attention. Totally recommended.

What a lovely hotel! We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our engagement! Comfortable bed!

We loved our stay here! The staff were friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. Felicia helped us when we got checked in — she wouldn't let me bring my luggage up, but insisted she would do it while I ushered my 4 kids upstairs. She was so kind and when we had an issue with parking she went above and beyond. There are free bikes to rent, though we didn't do that. The refrigerator in the room was good sized which was great! The room was surprisingly spacious… 2 queen beds with space surrounding them, a sectional couch and table… and a big TV that we watched AGT on ;). We walked everywhere and this hotel worked for us in that respect. Patrick and Rene were both quick to accommodate my need for a slightly later checkout and made me feel at ease. The hotel only had 10 rooms per floor so it was much more personable than a big chain hotel. Oh and it was about $125/night including taxes when we stayed… and they didn't care that we had extra kids. Seriously, such a good stay!

Overall this was a nicer hotel in a busy part of the city. It is within a few blocks of a lot of the tourist spots, so location is great. The rooms are nice and updated and their televisions are very nice and beds are comfortable. Some issues they we had were that the front desk is a table sitting next to the elevators. Sometimes there is someone there but most of the time there isn't anyone there and it makes it difficult because you do not know who is working there. The coffee shop in the lobby closes early, so there is not point even having it there. The bathroom, I think, had mold above the shower that really looked horrible. And they do have a parking deck there that you can access your car 24 hours a day, but it is $40.00. It can't accommodate a larger sized car (Ford expedition), which is fine, but the problem was that the hotel employee had no idea where we could park. There were two garages nearby that could take our car, but they were closed. I drove around for over an hour to find an on street parking spot that I had to go out every hour to pay. That was the most annoying part of the trip.

When I was there the lobby was under construction and the first room they put us in had no A. C.! On the up side, the rooms were nice, spacious, they welcome dogs for a nominal fee ($25/dog), and when the renovations are done I was told there will be a great cafe in the lobby. The room was also reasonably priced, especially for DC! I would absolutely go back and knock it up a star when the renovations are done and the A. C. In first room we were in is fixed.

Room was large and bed was comfortable. Other than that, the hotel was sub par. I was told there were limited parking spaces available in the garage next to the hotel. The parking garage was odd and I had to walk up the ramps back to the hotel. It wasn't until after I checked out and recieved my receipt that I realized they had charged me an extra $40 per night for parking! I was not told about this fee! If I had known it was $40 per night to park, I would have made other arrangements, possibly even went to a different hotel. After the parking fee I paid over $220 per night, definitely not worth the money! I will not be back!

This is an odd hotel. There's no front desk; instead, an employee with a tablet hangs out in the lobby. This led to confusion several times about who should be served next. There's no food in the hotel, and many nearby options are closed on Sunday. And the air conditioner in my room made a loud *whump* sound when it turned on, waking me up a few times. All that being said, my room was big, clean, and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location is great as a launch point for DC tourism.

Very nice & clean. The room was a good size. Manny & Sammie were absolutely great. They made me feel very welcome & we're super friendly. The only downfall was the noise on the street.

We luckily got a studio for a fantastic price (222 USD for two nights) and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and the furnishings were sleek and modern. Our room was spacious with a lounge area with sofas and a table. Though the immediate area surrounding Hotel RL is dead at night, food and bars are about 10-20 minutes walking distance away at the Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan neighbourhoods. The only bad thing: if you have a room facing L St. Be wary of sirens and street noise as they are quite loud.

Hotel RL was a great time. Friendly staff, awesome location and a very spacious room for the price. My girlfriend and I spent the weekend and it was wonderful. The staff response was great whenever we had an issue, the cleaning staff were very efficient and discrete and the rooms are fitted with a lot of simple amenities that would be extra in some hotels. The only complaints I have are the I never got around to eating at the adjoining restaurant and that their beds are just a bit too soft for my liking and played havoc with my back.

The staff was pleasant and accommodating and the rooms were very reasonably priced. The room that I reserved was unavailable and the suites with kitchenettes seemed to be the same square feet as the ones without, which made the room feel much smaller.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent for people looking to stay within walking distance to DC attractions. The Metro red line is one block away, and the blue line is two blocks away. Very good location with plenty of restaurants nearby. The beds are comfortable and the linens and towels are clean and good quality. There is free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, iron, microwave, mini fridge, in-room safe, Keurig coffee maker and complimentary bottled water. This is a great location for tourists, business trips, or people looking for a reasonable place downtown. I will definitely stay here again. Superb for my tastes.

Convenient location. Staff were generally indifferent but the really awful thing was the noise during the night for the rooms on the rear side of the hotel. Each morning around 4 a dump/garbage truck would switch out dumpsters creating an incredible noise. For this reason would not stay here again.

Location was ideal. The doorman was nice. The room had the standard necessities. The bed was comfortable. There was a kitchen with a full sized fridge — — that was unnecessary, and some colleagues complained about the noise of the fridge — — but OK. My view was of a back alley with dumpsters. Alright… whatever, I reasoned — — the fundamental purpose of a hotel is to sleep. I'm not there to look out the window. I was fine until the trucks began jostling the dumpsters at around 4 am. For the rest of the night it was BANG BANG BANG, beep beep beep (truck backing up), BANG BANG BANG, beep beep beep… It was nice that earplugs were provided on the nightstand. But earplugs were inadequate to block the noise, and I was worried about not being able to hear the alarm or wake-up call, so I didn't sleep much. I feel sorry for this business. Does the city not have any noise ordinance? Why not? I know my boss and her esteemed guest echoed the sentiment that they would never be coming back because of the horrible night's sleep. I wonder if the hotel can sue the offending noise-makers for the financial damages they are certainly suffering. What in the world are they doing, and is it truly necessary to do it at 4 am? Looking at the reviews here, the noise problem has been going on for YEARS. I sympathize with the hotel: it's not your fault, but it is your problem. This was a Monday night. If you want any sleep, you might ask the front desk if the dumpster dance is a predictable event.

Staff was very friendly and told me what floors everything was on such as beverage areas and what floor to get ice. Each room has own couch and also has fridge amazing. Very modern loved it.

Overall: Enjoyed my stay and definitely will keep The Quincy on my shortlist for future DC visits. Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Large, clean stylish room. Great to have couch and coffee table. Free Wi-Fi. Cons: Shower didn't get a lot of light despite bathroom as a whole being well lit. Cold water tap in shower didn't adjust well so had hard time getting a good hot shower. Only three 24 hour garages within a few blocks (apparently not unusual for DC).
