I was traveling overnight and the gentleman at the desk was extremely pleasant. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there anytime that we are traveling through.

Edit: The owner was very pleasant and remembered me from the night before. He assured me he would take care of everything, so I certainly hope he does. I was in 306 if anyone else stays in that room. I should have spent the extra $30 to go to another hotel. I don't have much good to say other than I slept pretty well here. The bed had a couple firm and soft pillows, so that certainly helped. The carpet had a spot where an iron had melted into it. That's not horrible, but definitely should have been taken care of. What was worse was the bathroom. Dirty shower head, dirty coffee maker, dirty outside of the tub, and there was mold under the shower flooring where the glue has separated! The bolts to hold the toilet on the floor we're also rusting pretty bad, but that's a minor complaint compared to the rest!

The owner of this establishment decided to come outside and yell at me for using my grill I bought on his property. I apologized sincerely for doing something I was never told was wrong but he continued yelling at me for no reason. The management is horrible and the room service is worse. They don't even make your beds half the time and definitely don't vacuum.

Clean rooms. Great location and cheap rates.

Customer service was really nice. Rooms were nice, and for the place… couldn't beat it.

Clean. Beds were comfortable. Pillows were flat. They were charging $176 a night for a $40 a night room because of a graduation. Better than other hotels charging over $300 for the same room.

Smelled a little funny, but for the price and one night not bad.

Nice room, staff was friendly. Lots of places to eat within walking distance.

As a veteran I frequently stay in salem I stayed here about four months ago and was surprised that soon as I came threw the front door the manager remembered me. Very nice feeling the rooms are clean and if there is an issue it is without question dealt with. I gave a four star because honestly I'd like to see a bigger area for the breakfast which is very filling by the way.

I arrived very late due to a Va Tech football game. The desk clerk was prompt and check in was very smooth and speedy. Room was clean and very quiet. Easy to access from 81. I was surprised at how clean the rooms were. No odors nor was the room outdated. No irons in the rooms. You have to get it from the front desk. But other than that this little hotel was great for the price.

Got the job done. Showed up late and left early. Not much to report on sadly.

Good "3 star" motel. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Would recommend this if you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower, and don't need anything fancy. My only complaint was the TV kept losing its signal, and was very slow and frustrating to watch. Ended up just shutting it off.

Rooms were clean and hotel was quiet.

Good service good rates breakfast could be better.

Decent room a little cramped from the staffs insistence on stuffing two queen size beds into a room intended for one king size. But I suppose that marketing dictates method. A bit over priced honestly, but with all the local hotel/motel working together rather than competing for customers what can you do? Would stay again if circumstances forced little other option.

UNFORTUNATELY I was in this motel on July 2nd in 322. It was so horrible to stay here. When I was checking in at the front desk, I felt so hot. I was wondering that if they have a ac on in at the outside of the room or not. I felt like I was taking a SHOWER. I asked front desk whether there is an ac in the room or not! In your trip make sure you have a bundle of wash clothes with you. Hot.

We booked this motel in mid July 2010 online. They said they wouldn't charge our card until after we checked out. Well we get up there and we check in at 3:00 and unpack. All of a sudden we get a call from the front desk stating our card has been declined. This was odd because of the fact that we made sure we had just enough on the card for the motel. My husband checked his balance online and over the phone and it said we had the money. Well rather than let us run to Walmart and just withdraw the money and come back, they kicked us out! I was so mad that I about went to another motel. Finally, we got the money, paid and had to haul our stuff back into our room. We stayed in room 101. The only problem is that it was right in front of the soda and ice machine so all night when someone would push the ice machine it would scare me to death. I don't like people walking near my door especially in motels. The room itself was just a queen. It was very small but comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable that the moment you sit on it, you want to go to sleep. The sheets were clean. The A/C cooled down the room within 10 minutes. Now we were promised HBO when we ordered. There is only Comcast cable in 101 so beware of that. I spent most of the night flipping through Infomercials. Now for the bathroom. It was very clean. We had clean towls. The bathtub was real nice and the water wasn't dirty or smelly.

Newly remodeled; mostly clean, except for tub still with bathtub ring; housekeeping came up and cleaned, but still needed a little abrasive cleaner such as Comet to get remainder of ring off. New mattresses were hard with no padding over springs-you could feel springs poking into ribs! Most disturbing part though was we were charged approximately $10 more a night than quoted when reservations made and I had no way to prove that was the price quoted as reservations made over the phone! Manager was arrogant and despite the negative aspects of the room, still would not honor the price we had been verbally quoted.
