I'll start with the good. Its a great location, right across from the Conference Center. Now the mid: The rooms haven't been updated in 15-20 years other than a new TV and a new mattress. Now the bad: Despite explaining the situation that I needed the room charged to the Corporate Card and the Incidentals charged to my debit card, they charged the entire amount to my debit card. And then when I called them to fix it, they charged the entire the incidentals to the Corporate Card. Everytime I've tried to connect to the billing department via their phone system, I get a busy signal. I've gotten through once to the front desk, but every time since when I call to enquire about fixing the incidentals, I get a busy signal there too. Wildly bad service, won't stay with them again, and for a business traveler who has to put down a separate card for incidentals, I would steer clear.

Although the rooms were outdated. The location makes up mostly for it. Shopping attached to the hotel. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Christmas dinner was delicious.

Its not my first time staying at a Marriot and the reason that is so is because of the great rooms and even better customer care. I booked a room just for a night to celebrate my wife's and I 19th wedding anniversary. Checked in and was going to get the room ready before bring my wife. The room I got was great room but I wanted to see if I could get an upgrade to a higher floor. I called down and I think it was the manager who answered and said yes they had one on the very top floor, so I said that would be great. She said come on down to get the new keys. To my amazement she was waiting for me at the entrance to the elevator. I thought that was above and beyond to do what she did and said congratulations when she handed them to me. Anyways this is why I continue to book my hotel rooms at Marriot when going out of town or just a staycation with my wife. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me, but thank you very much! Also big thank you to the vallet who let me park my car for 20-30 minutes to setup the room.

When we arrived home to Sweden we saw that ther were products missing in our bag, and we know that they was ther the day before. Somebody had to taken them out from the bag, but the hotell dont respond… Products in a cost of 200$ has been taken from us in the room. Products that was mean as a gift to my grandchild. The products was in a bag in the suitcase so someone has been in to the room and stolen this.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and great food.

Marriott has always meant excellence and top notch quality care until my daughters honeymoon night Dec 28th.
They were treated so horribly and were interrogated for over 15 minutes at the front desk for a room that was prepaid and taken care of by family. (It is now around 10:00 pm)
What was supposed to be such an easy top notch quality Marriott welcome was an absolute nightmare!
It ruined their whole night!
They were again charged for the room (not just a deposit but actually charged again). Made to feel like criminals like they were doing something wrong. A simple 5 minute check in took 15 plus minutes.
We told them their delicious breakfast was also prepaid and to charge it to the room and they were told that was not allowed.
For such a beautiful special occasion after an amazing day at the temple this was such a HUGE disappointment!
In the morning when they told the front desk they had a horrible experience the night before they basically said to bad, didn’t ask what had happened … how they could make things right?
NOT the marriott way I grew up with!
To KATRINA who checked them in you need some training on the high standard the Marriott has! Or at least used to have! And to Matt who could have cared less the next morning … :

The Front Desk Staff has been incredibly helpful and friendly. I shared my travel story and they seemed touch and gifted me a luscious snack platter. Their kindness has touched my heart. Traveling alone can sometimes be a bit stressful but God placed some wonderful people in my path. Blessings on You ALL!

Worst experience. The workers at the front desk cannot do their jobs properly. Mistake after mistake was made. Long story short — I am stuck waiting for my credit card to be REFUNDED — as they charged the room TWICE.

Executive lounge service and staff at FD was so fríendly. Location is great, and a view to the mountains u dont wanna miss.

The hotel is located right across the street from the Salt Palace Convention Center which makes it a perfect spot for conference attendees to stay! Nearby are plenty of shopping and excellent food destinations. The rooms are quite nice, and have all the amenities you would expect (coffee, ice, unstocked mini-fridge, iron/ironing board, etc). Beds are very comfortable and the TV is quite large. Front-desk service for check-in was quick and the staff was very polite.

The hotel is located directly across the street from the Salt Palace, making it a fantastic place to stay for events held there. The room was nice enough, though a little dated and with a relatively cramped bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We held our annual organizational meeting at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek. It was a wonderful experience and we received high reviews from all of our attendees. The hotel is located in a convenient area of downtown Salt Lake City with ample parking and a great valet service. The staff was extremely polite, quick and helpful. The accommodations a top notch and the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The lobby features a bar, restaurant and a Starbucks coffee shop. Car rental is onsite as well. The rooms were fresh, clean and well maintained. The views of the city and mountains were beautiful. The conference rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast and lunch we ordered for our meetings were delicious. The food was great tasting, presented well and the wait staff was very attentive. Setting up the room block, meeting space and accommodations were expertly handled by their event coordination staff. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be holding a future venue here!

The location was very good and the staff were all quite nice, but that's not enough to overcome the lack in value. At well over $300 a night in Salt Lake City I expected something much, much nicer. The decor was dated and the room was in need of repair. The grout joints in the shower were cracked or completely missing. The exhaust vent in the bathroom was filthy. One of the doors on the dresser almost fell off when I opened it and there were a lot of scratches and blemishes on the walls and doors.

Beautiful property! Friendly staff and a Starbucks on property. So many things to see and places to eat within walking distance. Loved the fitness area.

I was here this past weekend with Designs By Zima to decorate an event. I must say that I was very impressed with the staff here. Everyone was so helpful and courteous. They even help us set up and clean before and after the party. We’ve worked with many venues including the Bellagio in Las Vegas and this by far has been the most pleasant staff to work with. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to hold a party here. Stress free, helpful and lovely staff made our job run smoothly! It was an absolute pleasure!

We came here for a work training and we were so well taken care of! The food and snacks throughout the day were the best hotel food we've had (and we travel a lot). The staff was friendly and they had excellent Wi-Fi for our conference. They also accommodated us and gave us an excellent layout of rooms for all our meetings and classes. It was great!

This Marriott is a decent hotel. They keep it clean and it is well managed. The meeting facilities here are decent as well. It feels a bit like an older hotel. However, it has a great location right next to city creek and there are lots of dining and shopping options a short walk away. It's a solid 4-star property.

Arrived 30 min before check in to let them know we had arrived, was told they would call us when our room was ready. 2 hours later we still had not received a phone call that the room had been ready. We returned and asked if it was ready and told it is now ready. I asked why no one called us like I was told and I got no answer on the matter. Very poor customer service especially to someone who is a Platinum member.

This is my choice when I visit SLC (about 15 times a year) Easily accessible from the freeway. Lots of shopping, dining and business near by. The hotel itself is well maintained, the staff are wonderful. My only knock, is the rooms can use an upgrade. Marriott's hold a higher than average standard than this. With that said, the rooms are always very clean and kept up.

Wonderful staff at this hotel. Haven't received this type of high level service in a long, long time. We were very impressed. Will definitely stay here again.

When I made my reservation I requested room with a king size bed and the email confirmation showed this as guaranteed. When I checked in my room was a double queen, not a single king room. When I called down to the desk I was told that my reservation did not guarantee a king bed and that the hotel was full. I related that it showed as guaranteed on my confirmation and she insisted that I would have to produce the email as proof. I was told I could speak with a manager, but to what end? She had previously stated that the hotel was full. I sent the confirmation to the management today and Ms. T responded with 'Unfortunately you’ve already stayed and manager was given the opportunity to assist with your stay. ' (Although she tried to recall that email — sorry, I had already opened it. ) So I'm the one who failed. I'm giving the hotel two stars because the small bath and linens were clean, and I liked the green program. Also, all the housekeeping staff I encountered were very helpful and nice. Not so much the desk staff on Thursday evening — male clerk was too busy flirting with the female clerk to even look at me as I purchased a soft drink. And beware the steps at the south entrance as they are falling apart and will catch the heel of your shoes.

The facility was well professional and comfortable. Parking was easy to find, directly below the hotel, with plenty of open spots. While this might simply be a factor of the specific conference that I attended, I was dissappointed that I had to pay an additional $20/day for parking.

I have stayed here several times, most have been perfectly fine; however, my most recent stay was perhaps the worse hotel experience I have ever had. The Marriott mobile app's mobile key sent me to the wrong room. Upon dropping off my luggage I left. When I came back the mobile key on the app had changed to a different room number. My luggage was then missing from the original room. Upon brining my concerns to the Hotel Management the Hotel's Loss Prevention head began to accuse me of attempting to steal from the hotel because their app sent me to the wrong room. It wasn't until I ended up filing a police report that the hotel ended up taking the issue seriously. It ended up taking five hours to locate my luggage. At no point did the hotel explain to me how the mobile key was setup for the wrong room. They had no record of my room changing at all.

Loved this hotel, the pool was awesome and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Grace from the restaurant noticed it was my daughter’s birthday and had molten cake sent to her. Also Bidi at the front desk gave us a great upgrade for the birthday. Loved our room and the city view was spectacular. Perfect location and easy access to everything around.

While hosting and attending a professional conference the staff was quick to respond to any and all requests made. The food was fantastic with a variety to choose from. The hotel was clean and will taken care of.

Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek Center is the best location. It has great city and mountain views, clean rooms, helpful staff, attached to a great shopping center and the convention center is across the street. The fitness center and pool were kept very clean. The room I stayed in during my last visit had a great view of the mountains and it was nice to sit back and enjoy a short snow storm. Being attached to the outdoor City Creek Center is great for shopping and having a choice of dining. I have always had great experiences here and recommend staying at this Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek.

Amazing staff, the water in my first room wouldn't heat up at all and they immediately moved me to a new room and ensured everything was working before leaving me to settle in. Amazing recommendations, assistance and service. Loved the location and how close it was to so many amazing sites, services and more. Beautiful city and amazing stay thanks to the Marriott.

The location is perfect. You can walk to City Creek, the LDS temple, the conversion center, and so many other places. TRAX is close too. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The people who work there are very friendly. The reason for 4 stars is that the parking is questa as $20 and the television channels are very limited. There is no ability to rent a movie on demand either.

Not one Marriotts better properties. This property could benefit from a remodel. The fixtures and furniture show the traffic from this downtown location. While conveniently located for the price I’d rather stay elsewhere. When I arrive the room wasn’t fully cleaned there was pillowcase in the sink which was a little odd. However the staff were friendly and kind; they were very attentive and responsive. Over an average stay at this property. Update: make sure you check your shower head prior to taking one. Mine was clogged and had no water pressure.

This Marriott property was pretty impressive. It was well updated and felt very modern inside. The rooms were spacious and clean. The M Concierge club was nice, but it was pretty compact and got very crowded in the morning time for breakfast. Customer service was great and we received prompt attention to a maintenance issue in our room. You also can't beat the location, with tons of restaurants and shopping just a short walk away.

Staying at the SL Marriott Downtown at City Creek during the holiday season has been a tradition in my husband's family for years. The holiday spirit is felt through the lobby decor. The service is very good, valet parking makes checking in and out a breeze and the location is within walking distance to several shops, restaurants and Historic Temple Square!

I attended a Christmas celebration for my work at the Marriott. I liked the food and the service.

The hotel is excellent all very clean and well organized. Everyone was very kind to me. Buy good experience.

For any conferences, this hotel is conveniently close to the Salt Palace. The staff at front desk are extremely helpful with finding good local restaurants. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom sink had a drip that echoed in the drain, and the shower head was half calcified.

The front desk staff were super nice, patient, and really helpful. Same with the restaurant staff, I was really indecisive about what to do for dinner and the waitress was really great about it. The cleaning staff did a great job as well. It's right by the mall and the convention center, so it's a fabulous location.

Probably due for a little bit of updating, but the room was very comfortable, we had a decent view of the city, parking was easy, and it is very, very conveniently located. Rooms were clean. Highly recommend.

I stayed with a tour group. Don't recommend if not business travel. Stayed two times. Always found hair on clean towels and in the bath tub. Should do better cleaning up the room. The staff there is OK but just OK. The location is good though.

Stayed here for our anniversary. Room was very clean and nice. Within walking distance to the gateway and the jazz arena. We paid 10.00 extra for the breakfast when we booked online. Well worth it.

Jacob at the front desk checked us in and was lovely. He looked at our rewards portfolio and gave us some fabulous upgrades. Dropped our bags in an enormous corner room and headed straight to concierge lounge. Rich our personable bartender calmed us down after day 2 of our cross country trip with some cocktails and a great view of the city from 16th floor. Accidentally checked out the men's room in the lobby and it was quite elegant and cleaner than any I've ever accidentally ventured into. (I should take off my polarized glasses) The only issue encountered was understanding Utah's peculiar alcohol regs. No cocktails from bar to our room — heaven forbid but I could buy an entire bottle of wine and take that upstairs. What? Silly — but when in Rome … buy the bottle. Great property would consider a company meeting there. Very well appointed for business travelers.

Drains of both sink and tub were slow, ice maker on the floor was broken, room service menu was out of date. Hotel is conveniently located. Hotel bar is unfriendly and overpriced.

Some mechanical/plumbing issues during our 4 day conference. Little communication, so that was eh… Nice facilities and rooms are good. Mostly good temperatures inside the building. Great location, easy to walk to places and see things. Best improvement is if Marriott changed from Pepsi to Coke. :)

The Salt Lake City Marriot at City Creek was a great place to stay for the convention I attended across the street. I was able to get rest and delicious food without having to leave if I didn't want to. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as well as eager to help. The view was gorgeous and the amenities were great! I really hope our convention returns here just so I know I will enjoy my hotel stay :-)

This is my second stay at the hotel. The hotel is situated in the city centre and has a parking lot under the hotel. Staff is friendly but at the breakfast they are also good in avoiding eye contact. Nothing serious and they will get you everything you want, you just have to get their attention. The rooms are clean and spacious with nice beds. There is a TV, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, a desk and a seat in the room. In the bathroom there is a shower in the bath, sink, toilet and complimentary soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There is a good air-conditioning in the room, but the curtains do have a small opening when closed so during daytime there will be a minimum of light seaping through. Overall a nice hotel to stay with everything you need.

The staff was very courteous and professional. When they found out that my wife and I were there to celebrate our brand new marriage, they instantly offered us an upgrade. When we got to our room later that night there was a hand written note congratulating us, chocolate strawberries and a bottle of sparkling cider. Needless to say, the customer service has made our honeymoon better than ever imagined.

Rooms were clean. Service was excellent. Food was tasty. The lobby was useful to meet people and friends and even had a business meeting.

Room was great. Service was very friendly, but somewhat slow. Internet was good, and they let me use my fire TV stick with the tv. Overall, a great place to stay.

Here at a work conference. All staff and employee were very friendly. Food service was great with good variety. Something for everyone. There were some banging mechanical noises in one of the conference room for a short period of time and temperature in the room was too warm the first day but was very comfortable the next.

I have been at Salt Lake Marritt Downtown for a conference, but the place is not good for hosting large events. The Wi-Fi is almost useless, there are very few restrooms when there is a large event, and hosting these events, makes the experience for thise who are staying at hotel not so good, because the guest area and the conference area are not well separated.

Very friendly staff, rooms are really nice and the elevators are fast. All the things you are looking for in a hotel.

Brought my wife here for our anniversary night and it was PERFECT. The staff offered to set up all of the flower petals and gifts I had bought while my room was still being cleaned. Super nice of them! They also upgraded our room and we had a beautiful view of temple square! Thanks for making memories Marriott!

Was interested in staying at this property since it has recently been renovated. The lobby is lovely and check-in was handled in a very friendly and efficient manner. Rooms were clean with lovely furnishings. Although the bathrooms are tiny and do not appear to have benefited from the renovations. High praise for the breakfast in the restaurant. Omlette cook was a talented and very friendly.

Decent place for part of a convention. There's a number of spots to sit down and work, a convenient Starbucks, and decent A/V systems. Seating arrangements with circular tables in some presentation rooms were not ideal. No free Wi-Fi.

Brianna was the front desk greeter. She was incredibly sweet, efficient, effortless check in. When I requested extra towels and coffee, she personally delivered all of it. Cheerfully. Quickly. The room was clean and fragrant. The view was terrific. The bar was fun, but slow service. Second night there we stopped at the bar (expensive but fun) and a second night requesting coffee makings was just as succinct. Having started a movie the night before and promptly sleeping through the whole thing, they rebooted it for us. Parking: incredibly convenient. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

We recently stayed at the at City Creek in down town Salt Lake City. It's a great hotel very convenient especially if you are attending a conference at the Convention Center. Close to shopping and eating houses. The rooms are spacious well maintained and great service. You get free room Wi-Fi if you are a Marriott Member so make sure you register. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby though. Washing facilities are on the second floor. And you have computer and printer access in the lobby if you need to print a document and they are free. Starbucks is in the lobby do you don't have to go far for a coffee. There are meeting rooms available if you want to hold team meetings. We bought organic food from to cut down our eating costs. The only downer was the air-con not holding temperature but that was fixed as soon as we informed the engineers. Overall very happy Claude Fullinfaw.

Had an excellent stay here. A great hotel and conveniently close to downtown SLC.

The hot tub ruined our swimsuits and they wouldn't do anything to reimburse us.

Wi-Fi is not free for guests. It's 2015! C'mon.

I was not very impressed with this hotel. They charge $10 a night for Wi-Fi, which is ridiculous, and they charge $15 to park each day, which is even more ridiculous. I was not pleased to find out that when I left the hotel garage for a few hours that there was no one at the booth, and there was no one there when I came back about five hours later. So why did I pay $15 to park when I could have gotten out for free? The valet manager was quite rude about it when I spoke to him, and didn't really seem to care that people are getting gouged for parking. Even then, he told me that every Sunday for a few hours there is no one in the garage and during the weekdays they leave the gates open when he goes on lunch. This seems like an extremely unfair practice to me. The amenities were alright, the room was clean, and the bed was nice, but the TV was awful. The room had an HDTV with standard definition television, which also seems counter-intuitive to me. The picture was awful. I expected a hotel that I paid so much for per night would have been a much better experience. I was quite disappointed and I will not be staying at another Marriott hotel.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. My little daughter had just had out-patient surgery and the staff left a gift bag for her in our room. Not only that, they let us borrow a wheel chair to cart her around Temple Square in. It was clean, the other guests were polite, and the access to all things downtown in SLC was great. My kids loved this fancy hotel and we plan to stay here again the next time we visit SLC.

No free Wi-Fi in rooms. I find it interesting that this Marriott gives free Wi-Fi to anyone who walks in the door at the lobby, but doesn't give free Wi-Fi to paying guests in their rooms. I have stayed at Motel 6 and get free Wi-Fi in the room. I have stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton and get free Wi-Fi in the room but not Marriott. Needly to say, I'll not return to this Marriott.

I was happy with my stay. Comfortable beds. Lousy view, but I was at a conference so, whatever. Clean room. I love marriott toiletries. Friendly and helpful service! If stay here again.
