We were looking for an inexpensive place to sleep and were not disappointed. Over all our room was clean and quiet. This hotel recently was acquired by new owners who provide outstanding service. Right after checking in and attempting to start the air conditioner we discovered that although the compressor was running the circulation fan was not. The owners showed up within 3 minutes of informing the front desk we had an issue. Within 5 to 10 minutes the issue was resolved. The only issue we regret to report is the carpet was old and needed a good cleaning. Other than that the bed was comfortable and my wife, dog and I slept well. We will definitely be using this hotel the next time we pass through Panguitch. Here’s a hint… don’t use an online service to book your stay… call the hotel directly to make your reservation to save money.

New owners just bought it 2 weeks ago. It is an older motel in need of tlc. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable.

The room was reasonably priced for a large party, but in an older motel. It was at least 40 minutes drive from Bryce Canyon. The customer service was good. The room got quite chilly at night at the end of April and the heater was so old we were scared of using it. They accept cash, which is a bonus for international travellers. The plumbing is noisy and toilet didn't drain properly. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. No breakfast was included. Overall, it is okay for a night stay for budget travellers but don't expect too much.

Great value! Clean, comfortable, though the room was a bit small. Fantastic for the price. We would stay again.

Maybe it would be almost three stars. You can see that the owner holds everything in his own right and just makes an apartment completely new. The rest, unfortunately, has been strong in the Years. Three mattresses from through to real good.
Which doesn't bother me because I can only sleep in one, and for the children, the others are all enough times. No Breakfast. There are also only so few stars as there are other motels that are more modern for the same money.
But It's Clean.
The rooms are Large.
It's very cheap.
Has a good location.
Perfect for a Roadtrip.

Spacious room, the owner was a nice guy. The electrical wiring in room 11 we stayed in needs upgrading because the power couldn’t handle a couple lights and heater without tripping the power breaker and needing to keep turning it on so we just had to keep most things unplugged to keep the power on. But I only paid 35 dollars so can’t expect much for that.

For $40 I guess it could have been worse. The room was freezing (12° outside) and it took all night for the heater to warm the room; it was a perfect tempature at check out. The bed was not the worst, but there were only 3 very flat pillows and several black hairs in the sheets. The hot water took a few minutes to warm up and the shower is bulit for a 4'3" tall individual. I went to make coffee and the plastic filter was wet and slimy… no coffee for me. There was not a front desk attendant available; you have to call and let them know you're at the hotel and they drive over. Overall, this place is a $40/ night place to crash, don't expect much.

Lamplighter Lodge was one of the few places open in Panguitch in February. A nearby Days Inn and other mtels were closed for the winter. The man at thevregistration was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a list of 4 recommended restaurants in town, but obly one is open in winter. The room was a bit cold at first, but a heater soon warmed it up. A separate heater in the bathroom was one of the best abd warmest I have ever seen. Within a couple of minutes it made the bathroom warmer than the main room. The room wasclean, but dark. Better lighting would be a big improvement.

Very inexpensive and accommodating to a girl with two dogs. I paid $30 more the other night for a room that wasn’t half as nice as this one. Wi-Fi, cable, and dog friendly! Thank you!

Rooms were large and spacious. Blankets were a tad uncomfortable but other than that, a great experience.

Hello all those who are planning on staying with us at the Lamplighter or has stayed with us. I want to say thank you for supporting us here at the Lamplighter by leaving us comments on your stay. I am joyed to hear that most of your visiting our area has been great and that we have provided the best accommodation as possible for your stay. We are terribly sorry for those who choose to have a thorn in the foot on some of our rooms. We have nice clean rooms for what we have and we try and offer great service to go with our little place. I admit that we are not the Hilton, but a little family run Hospitality business to cater to those who are trying to travel within their means. We appreciate all whose comes our way and we will provide the best that we have and hope to make all of your stay as welcome and comfortable as can be. Nice little place to stay at. Room was larger than I expected, a pleasant surprise. Staff was very friendly.

I would give zero stars if possible. I booked a room for 3 (special trip with my wife and 23 yr old daughter) and was given room That used to be my lucky number. Not any more. The room literally smelled as if it was just fumigated. Upon further (brief) inspection it was clear that the room had not been dusted in weeks. Looked under the bed (barely) to find numerous dead spiders as well as a live black widow. Hour glass and all. Went back to the front desk and described the conditions described above. He responded by saying that he was "just the owner" and that he pays people to clean the rooms. Of course I was speechless. He refused to come to the room and tried to to deny me a refund when I said we could not stay. He relented after a bit. Needless I will be contacting the Utah Board of Health. Shabby is one thing. Filthy, disgusting, and repulsive is another all together. At least C Stop pizza was way better than average. Thanks god there's a liquor store.

Fantastic little lodge/motel in Panguitch. Fully loaded with everything a motel could offer — we had a large spacious and very clean double room for several days whilst hiking in Bryce Canyon which was less than 30minutes away. Free Wi-Fi was great and reached into the rooms, microwave, fridge, heating and cooling. More than enough facilities for the money spent. Quiet rooms and not oversold like larger chain motels. The new management staff are amazing are amazing and went out of our way to make this experience desirable. Very attentive to service, going out of our there way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Big thank you to Benjamin. Supermarket, restaurant, Subway & Family Dollar were all within walking distance and reasonably priced allowing to stock-up before our time into Bryce. Highly recommended overall, well worth the money spent. I don't normally write reviews but this fine example of a motel deserved it. Don't look anywhere else, take this one! :) R&D (Australia)

Think I got the last room in town! Marla at the front desk was great. Room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable. Wi-Fi could be stronger but serviceable. Microwave and micro fridge. Bathroom is clean. Restaurants nearby. Price was inline with being near national parks. Definitely recommend.

In the years come Motel but clean rooms and very friendly staff. Perfect starting point to visit Bryce Canyon National Park.

Well I wouldnt call it a dump, but. When we arrived the rooms were clean, the bed was comfy and that's where things started to go down hill. The toilet was tucked up under the sink so close you could brush your teeth while you. Only to find 1/4 roll of paper. We stayed 8 days (our own fault) they shorted us on paper twice, no towels one day, and no soaps and shampoo another day. When I went to ask for soap I was told " Thats just un American" no apologies; nothing. We noticed that the tub, sink, and toliet wasn't cleaned for about 3 days. We just let it go to see if they would clean, but ended up having to ask them to. Just didn't think it was right that we had to clean the tub before we could us it. The two things the room had going for it was the comfy bed and the water was hot, but we were right next to the hot water heater too, so have no idea how it was in the other rooms. Seems to be very little training for the teen cleaning staff, but they were polite. The owner did let us do our laundry on property but it didn't appear to be a policy. Only staffed from 3pm to 10pm otherwise call the # posted on the door. The owner did seem to be nice and we found she had lived close to where we reside. The other staff didn't have people skills although he thought he did. They have no breakfast at all. But they have a sign that says "Hot Breakfast".

What a dump! This place is sleazy! Cheap, but really awful.

We spent one week at this Lodge for a baseball tournament. Marla was so wonderful to us. She made us feel so much at home and helped us get around as well. The rooms were clean and perfect for me and the six boys I had. When we go to Panguitch again we are DEFINITELY staying at the Lamplighter Lodge again.
