This hotel is running a scam. I was responsible for a group consisting of 7 rooms and 16 people. We actually had reserved a different hotel months in advance but were bumped to this hotel the week prior to our arrival. To keep this brief, of the 10 people splitting the costs for the 7 rooms, 7 were overcharged ~$400 to over $2000 for their stay. Two thousand dollars. And everyone's bill included "safe charges" per day. When asked about these all of these charges, the Director of Sales and Operations repeatedly said they were just "authorizations. " All of the amounts were random, on various days and in various amounts. Additionally, the Director of Sales and Operations would NOT give us our room receipts until everyone had checked out on Saturday (we stayed at the hotel for one week). Ultimately, I had to call the Clarion Suites corporate Guest Relations line, who called the hotel to get the charges sorted out. The Guest Relations line was able to see the erroneous room receipts I was given on the day we checked out. Eventually, we did receive accurate receipts, and most charges ended up being dropped, but only thanks to the corporate Guest Relations assistance. However, NONE of the charges were authorizations: all of the charges eventually posted to everyone's accounts, and were written as charges on the erroneous receipts. A few people were even simply just double-charged for their total costs. Almost everyone was double-charged for one of the nights, for some reason. In addition, one person who put her credit card down, but was not supposed to be charged, had $450+ in charges to her credit card, THREE DAYS after everyone had checked out. Both the hotel and the corporate Guest Relations line "had no record of these charges" and the Director of Sales and Operations insisted they were "authorizations" despite the fact they were charged three days after we already checked out and that they posted to the account. The guest is now being forced to dispute the charges with her bank, and this is still ongoing — two and a half weeks later. Other general hotel information: CONS: — the breakfast items are off off-brand and highly inedible. The juice is not juice and not even watered-down juice and the pastries were too stale to even be edible. — the walls are paper-thin and everyone can hear you in the hallway — there are signs in the bathrooms that the front desk has "common toiletry items that you may have forgotten" — they do not. — when you talk to the Director of Sales and Operations about overcharges or receipts, do NOT expect to be treated with respect and like a guest. She will proceed to tell you HER problems (mainly, that you are one) and will not fix your situation. She will tell you how the situation is for HER, whether it relates to what you are talking about or not. — rooms are very small PROS: — rooms were clean — if you ask, the front desk has small, free bottles of water, if you don't want to purchase the $3 bottle from the lobby — the lobby is very nice-looking and inviting.
